DFMB 113: The Old Neal Family Fish Fry

This is Dispatches from Myrtle Beach with Charles Neal and my son Link from Good Mythical Morning. How you doing, Link? Doing good, dad. Good to see you. How you doing? I am doing great. Doing great. The weather’s warming up. Mm-hmm. You know, getting a little warmer and getting closer to getting to go down to the beach and sit on the beach and, and just, you’re getting that spring fever. Yeah. Yeah. I like that. Yeah. I’m, I’m, um, I’m looking forward to it. Continuing to get warmer. We get, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s the rainy time for us here and we’ve been, I told you that we’ve been filming, um, for our, our show Wonder Hole. And yeah, every time we we’re shooting a lot outdoors or on location, and every time we do, it’s been like. Unusually cold or unusually rainy. So it’s been, I’m like, and that, that ain’t good. Both of them together? No, no. Cold and rainy. We’ve had, we’ve had a bit of a time, but, um, you know, we’re so excited to be making the show that sometimes having a little adversity kind of, it kind of helps you get more engaged. It’s like, all right, we’re gonna do this. Oh yeah, we’re gonna do this. So. It is working out, but I’m, but I’m getting a little bit of that, uh, spring fever myself, you know, want a little bit more sunshine, honestly. Yeah. Na, I got, I got a little story to tell you. Nancy and I went over to Captain Archie’s the other night and went to see Quit Quick, was playing okay in Coastline and I, and most of the people, there were older people. Yeah. But I had a guy come up to me and he said, I know who you are, and I said, you do. And I said, so. Do you know me because of my son or because of dispatches from Myrtle Beach? He said both. Okay. But he said, the reason I love y’all and like, and watch y’all so much because my last name is Link and last name. My first and last name is Link. And um, my first name is Will. But when I was growing up, everybody was named Will, so. I didn’t, I didn’t tell anybody that my name was Will. I told them my name was Link. Huh. And because it’s, it’s true, but in a roundabout way. Yeah. And so, because it, you, I mean, there ain’t a whole lot of linking, there ain’t a whole lot of links out there. I mean, in my life, except for the, the links that I’m related to. Yeah. I, I mean, I might have meant. I met some Lincolns, but people who go by link is even less than that. I mean, it might just be a couple. Yeah. So it, I, I thought that, I thought you might, would like, you know, know, and he, he was really glad to, was he, was he Shaggy beat me. Mm. Just hanging out. He, he was just hanging out at Archie’s and while Quick was playing, but he was there with his grandparents and his, oh, uh, mom and dad. Okay. That, uh, lived family of affair, lived that lived down there, family. So, you know, so I just, I thought you’d get a kick out to somebody. Instead of using his first name, decided to start using Holler out to Mr. Link. Mr. Link. Yep. Yeah, so turned out it was pretty nice and then Quick had me up on stage. Oh he did? Yeah. Had me up on stage and, uh, promoting the podcast and saying we trying to get to a hundred thousand, we’re over 80,000, so trying to get to a hundred thousand. So y’all need to, uh. Look up this man because he, him and Link and, and he did a thing for Good Mythical morning too. So, okay. He, he’s, he’s promoting us and looking after us. I love it. Yeah. I love it. It’s time for another edition of Myrtle Beach, mailba Link. We got some emails and we got one from Nathan. From Ireland. Ireland. Okay. No one from Ireland. Oh, where the blarney is? Where the blarney stone. Yeah. And the leprechauns. The leprechaun in the, uh, the pot gold kind, kind of, kind of goes along with St. Patrick’s Day is. Passed from now, but yeah, from Ireland. It’s always seemed Pat’s day in Ireland. Yeah, I think. But he sent me this, sent us this email and said, I don’t know if you’ve seen this video or remember it, but it’s one of my favorite rights. Okay. From back in the old days of written link 17 years ago. Yeah. The guys brought their camera to the farm while your family. Had a fish fry. Oh yeah. Okay. I remember this. Yeah. And he said, I would love to hear your thoughts on it and would appreciate hearing anything you remember about that day or those days in general, it puts a. It’s great to put a face to some of the names I hear on dispatches like Uncle Ross. Yes. ’cause I mean, I haven’t watched this in so long, dad, and I think that it’s, um, you know, a lot of these people, a lot of these people aren’t with us anymore, so, no. Yeah. We call this lunch with Lincoln. This was, we would, um, this is, this is on our second channel. Which ultimately became the good mythical Morning channel. But we would do these little vlogs and little, little, you know, when we would, I was like, well, if we’re gonna go to the fish fry, we should make a, we should make a, um. A video out of this. Okay. Alright. Let, let, let’s watch it. I know. This road to the farm. Yeah. For lunch with Lincoln. My uncle should be there. Uncle Ross, uncle Billy, and of course my papa. We go, don’t not mess around, do you? And there’s papa. There’s papa. Nana sitting across her camera this time. You making any money? Making any money more. That’s uncle. Uncle Billy. That’s Uncle Ross. You don’t wanna be on camera? No. I don’t know who that is. That’s by the fish. The fish are good. They just, I put a little bit of too much red pepper on mine. Got my mouth burning. Mm-hmm. Tell ’em how, how hard we work. That’s Danny. Yeah. If I go down there, they’re not asleep. That’s the best you can come up with. We’re not asleep because they, he would come visit us. I don’t have no idea when we were working a paycheck. That’s tall. Yeah. Well, that’s, they seem to be doing what they’re supposed to be doing, but I don’t, I can’t tell. You got three generations. Three generations. There you are. Number one. What kind of number two Real. Number three. You ever been on television? What about the internet? Uncle Billy. Uncle Billy. These are all man manna brothers for you. Y’all like Merl haggard the whole on it. Sound real good. Keep practicing. Keep practicing. I enjoyed it. Wow. He passed away too. That brings back a lot of memories. I mean, seeing, seeing Papa, that makes me a little, that was Brandy. Seeing Papa makes me a little emotional ’cause you know. Oh good. It is not, we don’t get to hear his voice. We, we don’t watch a lot of videos, but I’m so glad that we made those and we can, I can go back and. And listen to it. Yeah, you might, you may have Logan, you may have to send me a copy of that or something. ’cause I, I, I’m going to just tell you Right, honest. That’s the first time I’ve seen. Hmm. Yeah, I’ll send you that. You, you might have saw it back in the day, but that was 17 years ago, so maybe you don’t remember. But yeah, because. Uh, it, Hey, it’s, I, uh, Nathan, I, you can tell, but what little picture that I was on, that, that I have aged the right. Smart too. ’cause I mean, boy, my hair was sucked black back then. Yeah. So, you know. Uh, all of us changing, I think. I think you’re looking, I think you’re looking good. Now there though, dad, I like your, your hairstyles better. You got, you’re a little more spelt, you know, I think you, you might have had a little more pounds on you back then. Now you, you’re, look, you, you slim down. You, you more spry. Yeah, well, 17 years ago I probably did have a few, uh, more pounds, but, uh, I, I still do. Uncle Billy always had a great sense of humor. It was like, you making any money? Boy, I mean, they were, they were, I mean, you could tell that was kind of like the through line was like, as well, as long as they’re drawing a paycheck, nobody could figure out how we were making money, but, but occasionally we’d be in the local paper. Yep. So it was kinda like, well they’re in the local paper as long as they’re drawing a paycheck, kinda a thing. They was, they were still more, more worried about that than I was. Yeah, it all worked out. So that was kind of a cutdown, the entire video is, I don’t know, it might be seven minutes. Yeah, about five minutes. Yeah. Much, much longer. And um, maybe we got a sound bite from Nana in there, or I don’t know if we got Uncle Ross talking. He wasn’t. He, he wasn’t much for talking. He was, he was always the quiet one. Yeah. Until something needed to be said. And, uh, then you knew that you needed to be quiet and listen to what was going on. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Because, uh, but hearing Popeye’s voice specifically, like, yeah, it has this like, soothing tenor to it that, uh, you know, I miss dearly and it, so it was, it was nice to see that. Yeah. So Nathan, thanks for, thanks for queuing that up for us. Yeah, yeah. We appreciate that. I don’t, you know, and then lets, you, lets us know that, um, all the people in our lives that’s still in our lives right now, you need to really appreciate them and no, because ain’t none of us going live forever. Yeah. And I mean, I think that that was a fun. Time for us because we, our studio was in Lillington, like alluded to in that the papa and nana would come by, they would drop in or we, we could go eat lunch with them and then, you know, every month or so they would do the fish fry. So. Well, you know, we did, we drove 10, 15 minutes and we were there. So it was, it was kind of nice to, as busy as we were and as much as we were scrambling to make it, make it happen, just the two of us in our studio, we were close enough to be able to make time for. You know, for fam for my family that so many of y’all living nearby. So it was, it was a special time because of that. And that was some good eating. It was God, ight. Those are some good real well link. I got another one from Alexis. Okay. And it says I have, I have bent and a wonderful relationship with my current boyfriend. For almost a year and a half, we have talked. We have been talking about getting married in the future, but I have a problem. Okay? I have not told my dad’s side of the family about him. He is 20 years older than I am. Which I, which I never had a problem with, but my aunt has a very negative perception of couples with such a significant age gap since her first marriage with a guy much older than herself, did not turn out so well. I have been thinking about telling them this year. But I don’t know how, could you give me some advice on how to approach this and should I wait until I get married and tell them after? Hmm. Uhhuh, I’m interested in what your take is on this, dad, what’s your, what’s your point of reference in age gap relationships? ’cause I don’t think that that’s been something you’ve, you haven’t gotten hitched to, uh, no. To, uh, to somebody. 20 years. You’re younger. No, but I got somebody that is a, one of my best friends since high school and everything, and he did 20 years difference, I think 21. Uh, okay. And at what Ernie, how old was Ernie? He, Ernie. How old was Ernie? Was he like, he was 40, 48 or 49 and she was like 25 or 26 or 27. And how did that go? And they still married and had a child named Logan, and she’s grown and gone and done, got married and everything. So, yeah. Uh, so it, it worked out. So now it worked out. Do they make jokes about how she’s gonna have to start taking care of him? Well, let me tell you the first story that Ernie told me about it. Ernie went to her dad. Okay? That was a big farmer in Sampson County. A pretty wealthy man, and he went down there without, uh, Beth going with him and went down there and. And said, I, I need to talk to you and, uh, said, I’ve come to ask for your hand in, uh, marriage to Beth. And No, she was with him too. Okay. And they was standing there and, and, and she, and he looked over and he said. What the hell do you want to marry old man like this for? Oh man. Funny. So, and he said, you, in 20 years you’ll have to be looking after him and taking care of him like you do me. So it didn’t stop her apparently, but it didn’t stop. Either one of ’em and, uh, it all worked out. But, um, it seems like that there wasn’t animosity to be able to, to be able to just blatantly say what you think as a starting point or the first reaction is probably good just to kinda, you know, not take you, you know, you, you can’t get too worked up about somebody else’s life decisions ’cause they’re not yours. You might as well say your peace and then let it be. Yeah. But they, until the day he died, he didn’t like Ernie. Oh, he didn’t? No. Uhuh. Uh, no. He thought he had stole his little girl. Oh. Away to a old man, but, okay. So it wasn’t, it wasn’t all I was up. But Alexis, to, to get back to you a little bit, uh. Yeah, I, I, I would, I would probably still wait. I mean, I know you’re, y’all been together like a year and a half, but until y’all get to where it’s pretty close to where you want to set a date and want to get married and do something, I, I, I’d probably hold off and, uh. If you and it, it don’t sound like you live very close. If you live pretty close to your mom and dad, uh, your dad’s side of the family, then probably the cat’s gonna get out the bag and they’re gonna find out about it. So in that reference, uh, you might ought to go ahead and spill the beans and let ’em know that you’re pretty serious about this man and. And see what their reaction is then, and let him be able to start to get there, a little, get to know him a little bit and mm-hmm. Uh, see that he’s, he’s, he loves you and he wants to take care of you. So, so you’re saying, you’re saying on one hand you’re saying, wait until you know it’s really serious, like you’re setting a date. But then if you can’t avoid. If you’re in each other’s lives. Yeah. You might as well go ahead and, and introduce him into the flock, so to speak. Uh, yeah. Okay. And what do you think about this now? I’m not giving this advice. I’m asking you if I should give this advice or maybe if you like it, you can give this advice. No, no. Take it as your own idea. She’s asked, she asked both of us. What do you think about this? Because I think bringing him around, especially to like, let them see the bond that they have and, and how, if they, if they care for each other, I, I think that that’s, that speaks worlds for them to just to observe that. I think there’s a lot of wisdom in there, dad, but why not just add a little fib, you know, just, just lie about his age. You know, he’s, he’s, uh. He’s eight years, six years younger than me, but he’s got a baby face. Matter of fact, you can just give him, you can call him baby face. You get the family to call him baby face. Yeah, he looks young, but he’s only a few years younger than me. Not 20. You know, just lie about it. Who cares? It’s a, it’s an innocent lie. And it it, and it just diverts, it just diverts all this attention from something that they, they shouldn’t be worrying about anyway. You know, if er, if Ernie said he was 33, but he just had, he had a old face, I. Then her dad may have liked him. I’m, I, I’m old face. I don’t know if Ernie had an old face or not, but he, he, his hair has been white since it was, he was 18 years old, so my hair’s been white since I’ve been 18, and I’m not much older than that now. You just gotta add a little fib at the end of it. I’m prematurely gray. Yeah, that’s true. Pbo, that would, that would’ve been, that would’ve been a true statement even back then. Yeah. Right. Well, I, I, no, we, we gonna have to endeavor in this a little bit more a j now, but a number that, that would be correct. Mm-hmm. It’s just fib the number. To them, but I, I’m probably not going to tell ’em that he’s, uh, three or four, or six or seven. I’m just gonna say I’m dating a older person, somebody that’s a little bit older than I am. Yeah. And not just flat out and tell a damn lie like you did. Okay. All right. He’s old, he’s he’s not as old as he looks though. And then let them You say that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or she’s not. And then. She’s not as young as she looks. Yeah. Yeah. I’m dating a younger woman, but she’s not as young as she looks. She’s just doing real good for herself. It’s creams, creams, ointments, treatments, you know, I don’t know what she does, but you know, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix. It’s working. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds like you found, y’all found two compatible people, and don’t let anybody take that away from you, whether they like it, that you’re. He’s a, he’s 20 years old, or five years, or ever 10 years old or whatever. If, if you’re in love with this person, don’t let them stop you from letting this person be your husband or your companion That’s right. For the rest of your life. So, that’s right. Love is between two people. When you start, when you start making it contingent on other people’s opinions, that kind of messes up the dynamic. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Sounding like the dynamics is going pretty good to me. A little white lie couldn’t hurt. You know? It’s like, how, well, how old is he? I not, I hadn’t really thought about it. Yeah. You know, I don’t know. I don’t know. Just let him say years couple. Don’t bother you. So, so, did, did, did, um, did, did Ernie stay young? Has he, has she kept him young or has he made her old? Oh man, she, no, no. She ain’t made her. No. You trying to get me in trouble used for death. Talk about spelling the beans. Have you heard about mythical new GM M Set Blueprint T? Yeah, well I got a email. It says Morning ritual. It says Unique plant enhances pro. Good god, I can’t even read it. Unique plant enhances reproductive functions by 183%. Triple your manhood in just three weeks. So here’s another one of them emails. He reads them all my least. He reads them all. Triple your manhood in three weeks. That’s a bit. Mm-hmm. That’s a bit much. Yeah. I don’t need a, I don’t need triple, I don’t need double. I don’t even, I, I don’t even know if I needed at all. That’s right. We don’t need it at all. Triple is, that’s a scary thought. 183%. No. Reproductive function. If, if I could make something that’s 183% better, it would be my golf game, not my sex. Dad. I hear that. Well reply, reply and and tell ’em that. Yeah, just hit, all you gotta do is hit reply and give ’em as much information as you want about your golf game or, or anything. I’m not hitting reply because I’ve been getting these Okay. You know, you know the deal. That’s emails and stuff. Yeah. Don’t, don’t, don’t hit. No, we, so my morning ritual is just fine. Gotcha. It is time for another edition of Don’t Tell Nana. All you Myrtle beast out there. Y’all can’t be telling Nana what we talking about That’s right. Or make sure that, uh, she finds out if she finds out about it. Don’t, don’t, don’t be showing her the videos. This is just something for. You, Myrtle Beast and me and Link. That’s right. So that’s right. We gotta keep this quiet. Alright. Yeah, that’s good. So I’m getting nervous. Tanner sent, Tanner sent me a thing in and says, what’s the most exotic food you’ve eaten? Good question. Okay. You know, I’ve eaten so much crazy stuff. Don’t even get me started. But I gotta, I gotta hear your version of this. Well, uh, and the reason we don’t want you to. Tell Nana this ’cause she wouldn’t want to try none of this stuff anyway. She, she’s pretty peculiar, so we don’t, we don’t wanna know that we’ve been eating this stuff. Don’t, don’t tell her that Dad called her peculiar. Don’t tell her. Yeah. Well, about food anyway. Yeah. So, well the first, and I, I, I’m going to try to pronounce this, um, we’re going to do another pronunciation game again, but Ani. Do. You’ve eaten this and you don’t know how to say it. Uh, yes, I’ve eaten it because of your son and my grandson straightened me out about eating it. And when we were in Hawaii, which one? Orlando? No, Lincoln. Lincoln was getting you to eat what? Adam. Ani Edamame, AMI. Okay. What’d you think of it? Well, uh, I thought it was pretty tough when the way I was eating it, because I just stuck the beans in there and I was eating the hull, the beans and all, and Lincoln was sitting back in the thing and after about he, he finally, after about three or four of ’em, he said, granddaddy. You ain’t supposed to eat the hu, you’re supposed to just get the beans out and eat them. Well that might make it a lot better. And I have had ’em since then. Yeah. And knew what to do because of Lincoln. Thank you Lincoln. Mm-hmm. That I know. You don’t eat the, that’s exotic. You know, they look like little, they look like what Emani is that? Yeah. But uh. So they ain’t too bad if you just eat them and get the beans out, but when you chew the whole hull up and everything, they’re pretty tough. Yeah. And I have eaten them since then, and I, I like to think Lincoln, that I knew how to eat them and in front of all these people that was, I think it was at a wedding somewhere or, okay. Yeah, you’re moving on up Dad, you’re going to weddings with Ed. Whatever you’re calling it is. Anything else come to mind that is exotic that you’ve eaten? Well, uh, I had, when I was growing up, we used to go rabbit hunting because Johnny and us, we had 27 dogs. So I have eaten rabbit before. Oh. And, um, not a lot of meat on a rabbit. Not a whole lot. What? So, and most of the time they, is it like chicken? Mm. It’s a little bit, but the way we cook rabbit, we, we par boiled it and cooked it and then you would fry it and oil and stuff. Okay. Or put it in a, a stew with rabbit and squirrel and deer meat and all kind of stuff like that. And just with all kind of vegetables. So y’all, y’all going a full Elmer foot on this? Yeah. Okay. But now. Ha, have you ever eaten Squirrel Link? I, you know what? I don’t think I’ve eaten squirrel. I don’t think I have. Well, I, I have eaten, I’ve eaten rabbit, but. Not squirrel. I, I have eaten squirrel and it’s a little tougher and get to cook, but I, I got a little story about nana because, so listen, y’all can’t be telling nana this, but right after my mom and daddy got married, my daddy went squirrel hunting. And bought a squirrel back home. And I mean, this is probably just two or three weeks after they got married and asked mama to cook this squirrel for him because his mama and daddy, they used to shoot them and she cooked them for ’em. And that’s, that’s some of the stuff they had to eat back in the forties and Okay, so he, he had the squirrel. Uh, skinned and clean and everything and laid up there and still had the head on him and all that length and. And daddy went back to work and he come in to back to supper that night and she went over there and got his squirrel out where she had cooked it and laid it right on the plate head and all, well how did she cook it? She tried to fry it, I think. Oh my God. And Daddy tried to be as nonchalant about and he, he, he tried to cut some of it and he said. He would look down there and that squirrel’s eyes was just looking up at him, and he finally got up from the table and took the plate with a squirrel and opened the screen door and just slung in the yard. That is cold. That’s a, I mean, and but, and he tried, he, that’s a, that’s a message that’s hard to misunderstand. Yeah. So he, and, but he tried to be, he said. He said, nail, this is how Mama went. And he said, nail, I really appreciate that you tried to cook what I brought in here, but I won’t be bringing you no more squirrel. And, uh, you won’t have to worry about cooking that anymore. So, um, so I thought I, and I may eat that one out on the other side of the yard where I, you may have noticed that I just tossed it. I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna eat it. No, I don’t think he even said he was gonna eat it, but, uh, 27 dogs, somebody will eat it. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, that’s, but have you, you ever eat rattlesnake? No, I don’t think so. I’ve had snakes of, I’ve had snake pieces, but Rattlesnake. Oh man. Rattlesnake. Because a rattlesnake can get thick. Pretty thick and big and it’s got some really good white meat in it. Lee, it’s good prepared how you just clean it up and, and just like, you, kind of like when you cut a fish up and do it and you just skin the steak and get the, cut the meat out of it and, and, uh, and just fry it like you would with a little, uh. Uh, salt and pepper and different kind of stuff if you want to put on it. I mean, I guess if you’re gonna, and it, and it does kind of, it may, may, may think you a little bit of eating, eating chicken. Is it still shaped like a snake when it’s on the, on your plate? No, it is just a piece of it. Piece. Okay. Uh. Yeah. Piece of meat. That’s it. It is good. Yeah. You’re saying it’s like white meat, chicken. Yeah. Rattlesnake. Yeah. What? Well, it’s kind of white, flaky, kind of like a fish is, can be white and flaky. Uhhuh. That’s, that’s the way rattlesnake is, you know? And this is not at a restaurant. This is like. Where have you had this? No, the, the first time I ever ate it is when I was in the National Guard and we was in Georgia and some boys I run into had killed two of them and they was skinning it and had it skin and they were cooking it out there on a fire out there. And that’s the first time I ate it. Just like, like a campfire? Yep. Wow. Anything. Any. Anything else? What about an alligator? You’ve eaten an alligator. I’ve eaten alligator tail. Yeah. What? There was this restaurant in Cary that would have weird pizzas and you could order alligator or kangaroo on the pizza. And this was when I was in high school or like freshman year in college. But we did it as a gimmick. And I think there might have been a little bit of snake too, but it was like. It was like diced pieces of meat, no matter. So it all kind of blended together, but I’m pretty sure there was some tough alligator meat on that pizza. That’s, I think that’s the closest I’ve gotten. You ate a alligator tail? Well, that’s where the, the, the best piece of meat off of alligator is the most tender is on the end of the tail. And how so when you, was this at a restaurant? Yes. And they fried up in like them little bite alligator bites. Mm-hmm. And eat them. And like nuggets. It’s nuggets. It’s, it’s pretty darn good. Yeah. I mean, frying is, is probably gonna be the best bet for this type of stuff. You bread it. Yeah. You forget, you bread it and forget what it is. But you know, you were talking about Carrie, there used to be a restaurant up there that it was called a. Wow. Something that, that’s all they had was what? Like deer meat and mm-hmm. Alligator, rattlesnake, rabbit, and squirrel. That’s all they served up there that you could go get. Okay. You’re an adventurous eater. We’ve got that in common. I mean, for me, it’s been against my will most of the time, but, uh, well, I, one more, you’re more game than me. I got more for you. One more. Okay. One more. Yeah. Have you ever eaten frog legs? Yes. Now those I have eaten. This was back in the, the way that I’ve eaten them have just been boiled. Which is the worst. Yeah. They would boil it for safety is what Chase would do on our show. But it would just be like the legs and it would just be like, yeah, white and boiled and ugh. Veins and stuff. Well, the only way, ’cause when I was growing up, I used to go frog gigging with daddy and Clin Bullock and all them. Okay. We’d, they’d get a bunch of ’em and then we’d come back and go down there at the house and. And wash ’em and cut the legs off of ’em and put ’em in them. Cast iron frying pans and cook ’em, man. And I just ate some, when we went to Hawaii again back in December, I. At a restaurant. Why ain’t frog legs in Hawaii? I mean, I guess those can be prepared. No, wait a minute. It wasn’t in Hawaii. It was on the cruise ship where we went on the cruise ship that had ’em Okay. On the cruise ship one night. That’s when it was, and it, and it’s, the bone is in. It’s just like a, yeah. You are eating the leg with the bone in it and just like gnaw the Oh, it’s good. I love, Hey, when I was growing up, I always looked forward to, uh, daddy and all them other Meredith Center and all them, they, they, they’d cook ’em all up and we’d eat, have, have a big frog leg feast for supper. At night for the whole neighborhood. So y’all were walking out into the woods and the ponds and stuff and just getting your dinner. It was a different time. Oh yeah. So I, I do understand that might be more rewarding if everybody’s chowing down and it’s fried. Yeah. But I wasn’t done that. Right. Just a little boiling it. Doesn’t do it. Tell Chase. He can call me and I can tell him how to cook dinner. But when you put them frog legs in the pan, yeah, they jump around when you’re frying ’em. They still jump around like they jumping. Why are you saying that all giddy. That’s gross. No, like the knees would bend like ring. No, they just jumping around in the, in the pan. Like when you cooking them, them tendons going back and forth. That’s scary. Like where they used to hop. Yeah. I’m not a, I’m not, I’m not appetized by that Dad. I’m sorry. Oh, well if you keep on, I’m gonna have to tell Nana if you keep, if you keep up de shenanigans. Nana used to be there when we used to cook them frog legs. Okay. Just don’t tell her about the squirrel. I get it. Then we won’t tell you about the squirrel.
