everyone looks like someone in addition to themselves we are no exception let’s talk about that good morning gia Lincoln it is Tuesday February 8 2011 it’s a good day it’s a good day to be alive it’s a good day to be moving at the speed of conversation mmm I’m not gonna I’m not gonna let that go that’s what we do here today we’re going to talk about the doppelganger effect many of you already know what this is because you are hip that’s when you’re passing by something or something is passing by you that’s giving off some sort of sound and the sound changes as it goes by you because of the speed of sound and the waves and the scale that is the Doppler effect which we’ve also our oh yes doppelganger effect is when you see someone that could be your clone and I think and if they’re a celebrity it’s an awesome experience I think it’s specifically doppelganger means a celebrity I don’t think it means you don’t really like somebody else I think the definition of a doppelganger is it’s the celebrity that you look like and last year around this time or actually last week the first week of February it was a pretty big deal I mean but this week this year people didn’t make a big deal about it but I think it actually happened last week but nobody was talking about that is a testimony to the fickle nature of the Internet I’ll tell you something else that’s a testimony to the Internet is the amount of feedback we get you know because because of the commenting feature on everything that we create we hear from you instantaneously and we value that unless you hate on us right we hate you but you know loyal good morning Chia Lincoln viewers you know there’s nothing but love here nothing but love thank you for giving us nothing but love oh and constructive criticism but I guess what I’m getting at yeah where are you going with this what I’m getting at is one of the things I’ve noticed from a lot of the comments as people love it’s human nature to compare and people love to say who we look like go ahead and who anybody looks like go ahead and write a comment out before we tell you who you’re told we look like go ahead and write your comment now beforehand and say who you think we look like and it’s a different person for each of us now I’m going to talk about that really quickly back in my younger days before I had a beard before I had the manly beard that I have now I got a lot of and I don’t have any explanation for this and I don’t think this is a good comparison I don’t think I look like this guy I got a lot of brendan fraiser like very often I got Brendan Fraser it’s not about not having the beard it’s like if you took Brendan Fraser’s head and this is the guy from the mummy your guy from other movies that were arguably better than that one but he’s not known for if he took his face and you went like this and his eyes bugged out a little bit more you’d have red I think that’s where it comes from so like a squished faced more bugged out Brendan Fraser okay thank you for tea no he’s a movie star but more recently I’ve gotten a lot of Daniel Stern that’s the tall guy from home alone the tall burglar you got Joe Pesci and you got Daniel Stern and that’s a no that’s an old movie it’s no movies a lot of Daniel Stern if you had and I can see that a little bit if you had curlier hair and you were a little uglier you know I’ll give you some credit there if you were a little uglier okay so I’m a better-looking Daniel Stern there you go okay I like that I’ll go with that trying to give you a boost I yeah I don’t get compared to as many people as you do that’s one thing that I’ve noticed got a lot of variety in this face no I just think I have a very unique look I have been called a human Happy Meal toy that’s true by not okay you’ve written your comment um I’ll say first that I get a whole lot of and I’m because I only get one person I’m sure you probably wrote this down to Dana Carvey mm-hmm who you told me hosted Saturday Night Live he did last Saturday so he’s he’s still cool he’s still relevant well he hosts a Saturday live okay well that’s something you know it’s better than me compared to Daniel Stern and it’s true and I’m just glad I they say Dana Carvey they say garth from wayne’s world you know because then that’s an insult but if you did have a long blonde wig you would and he did actually open SNL the other night with Wayne’s World yeah was with Mike Meyers yes really it was great well I need to get back into that I guess but or I already look like him so maybe the Carvey fun-lovin guy again this is a guy that was in popular culture in the past now but what do you think it is just briefly I mean what if you took Dana Carvey made him better-looking would you get me I just think it’s just like hey you think rubber face rubber face rough that’s Jim Jim Carrey well you know what I’m saying I have a rubber I think it’s something about the shape of the chin or something maybe it’s like a rare around like I have a kind of a not a Leno chin but like a thing people just they want to the face you know I don’t I don’t know what it is but I’ll tell you most recently mm-hmm and this is because this is a popular this is a popular culture thing right now I have been getting a lot of Robert Pattinson now listen Robert Pattinson is better-looking than me we all know we all understand that and I mean make no mistake about it and he’s not that popular so I was he’s the he’s the real pale dude from twice but I do have a better I have a better complexion to him because he’s very very pale but I don’t know what this means you can draw your own conclusion well and first let me say it’s obvious you know sometimes he works a beard it’s the hair he doesn’t have eyes like yours you know if you squished his face and his eyes bugged out a little bit more it’s the hair okay so we have similar haircut let me tell you something people I’m not trying to make any conclusions or generate any stereotypes here let me make that clear mm-hmm but it sounds like you’re about to say something dangerous but 90% of the people who tell me that I look like Robert Pattinson from a particular demographic now you’re not talking about internet comments anymore you’re talking about I’ve come out in public IRL in real in real life yes I don’t deal with the lol’s and the all that stuff I never caught never caught on with me 90% of the people who say that you look like the dude from Twilight when you meet them in person are from a certain demo african-american women okay if I have a conversation when I have a conversation with an african-american woman especially in a public setting where it’s someone that I’m not friends with it’s just somebody that I meet you know in the grocery store you know at the mall that kind of thing mm-hmm you’re not having some sort of social interaction like they’re checking me out or like I’m paying for something you know not checking you yeah look i looks like robin i’m getting in till i’m having a conversation with that inevitably 60% of these interactions and in you know you’d look like and i say they got from twilight and they’re like yes and they’re like it’s uncanny if this happens to me at least twice a week but for the past 18 months twice a week i have gotten us and nine out of ten people are african-american women it doesn’t come from african-american men it doesn’t come from white women doesn’t come from white men I’m just listen I’m just making an observation yeah I don’t I will leave it to you to theorize about that because you know once you get into delineating among amongst ethnicities and race didn’t you know you can get into trouble yeah I’ll leave that to you I’m just stating a fact you draw your own conclusions here’s here’s one thing that I’ve noticed a phenomenon that relates to seeing someone and saying oh they look like somebody there’s many times when you’ll see somebody and you’ll say they look just like somebody and then you realize it’s somebody that only you know it’s not a famous person that’s like cousin you look just like you look just like a guy that I went to preschool with or you look just like my college calculus professor and you’re thinking this here’s what I’ve observed it’s almost irresistible to not say something you had you’re compelled to tell the person I just have to tell you you look like my calculus teacher from college and then what and what do they say when you say that to her oh cool yeah what what what do you say but my point is you should resist that temptation but it’s almost it resists why is it irresistible to say to tell someone they look like someone that they have no way of knowing well I think what you should do is I think you should tell someone else just to be able to get it out but don’t tell that person right because I go to another person in the party and so you see that guy it has to come out it looks just like my cousin also tell us why that is the case should we check in with Chia Lincoln yeah he looks a little bit like my cousin my balding cousin he just needs to shave his whole head you know you know you see these guys who are trying to do all this fancy stuff for their hair but it looks horrible maybe you you know you should just shave it brother you should you know and then they can say you look like that Chiklis guy from the shield or Kojak or a Kojak yeah yeah see you tomorrow
