Look at her, lookit, she’s happy to be here. – Today is – it’s a special day for her. – Oh it’s such a special day for you Barbara, oh I’m so excited for you. Barbara’s about to meet someone that is very special in her life that she hasn’t seen in a very, very long time. – She doesn’t know what’s about to happen. – But first a little backstory, – Because she can’t speak English. – She’s gonna get restless, and at that point I’ll set her down for a second, but right now she’s just resting peacefully on my shoulder. Okay, so I’ve told this story before, but I’ll tell the quick version just to catch you up to speed if you don’t know the story of Barbara, and that is that we were interested in getting a pet, and of course, you can’t buy pets anymore, woooh, you can’t buy pets anymore, you got to adopt pets. – Woooh, that’s right. – So we were looking, but we wanted to adopt a pet that we actually wanted, I didn’t want like a one-legged dog, I’m sorry, I wanted a dog that, we wanted a dog that was somewhat hypoallergenic. – Now when he says we, he doesn’t mean the two of us, he means him and his family, and when they decided to get a dog, – If you’re new to this show, Link and I don’t live together, we each have families. – That does mean that I also had to get a dog. – It’s always in the comments. – I did get a dog with my family. – Yeah, you already had a dog. – Before you got your dog, but after you decided to get a dog, it forced me to have to get a dog. – Right, and so then we were looking around for a dog that would be small and didn’t shed too much, and so we saw that there was a place that had a litter of Maltipoo puppies that you could come and adopt, we jumped right on that. We go to this place, and I actually dropped my wife and the kids off first, try to find a parking space, takes me a while to get into the place, and when I finally do get in there, I go in there, and my wife has this little teeny white fluff ball on her lap, and I was like, and they were like, you could spend some time with the dog to know if she’s right for you. And of course, I’m like, there is no way we’re walking out of here without this dog. – No, they have already chosen the dog without you. – It turns out that the dog had been brought back because she was adopted from this litter of puppies, and she was a biter, and the family couldn’t take a biter. And so they brought her back, and she was the last one left. – She was returned. – All her brothers and sisters had been adopted out. – She’s bored by your story. – And she was actually called Lola at the time, but we put an end to that real fast. – You know what’s better than Lola, Barbara. – And named her Barbara. Now this wasn’t supposed to be very public other than the fact that I was gonna talk about her on the show or whatever and introduce her on the show, but while we were in there, they were like, can we get a picture for our Facebook page, and I was like, sure for your Facebook page, turns out this place’s Facebook page is TMZ. Because for some reason they decided to do a TMZ article, YouTube Star Rhett McLaughlin Adopts a New Poo, and then it had a story about how I had bought Barbara $1,000 worth of doggie clothes, which I had bought her zero dollars worth of doggie clothes, bought some food and a couple of bowls. – You know why they said that? – And a leash, and a crate. – They said that cause they called me and interviewed me about it. – So anyway, that’s how TMZ works, don’t believe anything you hear. – Oh, thanks for clearing that up. – Then almost a year passes of just me having a great relationship with Barbara as you can see. – Look at this, this string, she’s starting to fall asleep. – We are adding, considering adding a new member to the Mythical Crew, his name is Saagar, and we’re doing what you do when you’re considering adding somebody to your team, and we are stalking him on Instagram, or Link you were stalking him on Instagram. – Of course, because I don’t read about peopple, I just look at things about them. – Resumes, who cares about resumes. – Pictures are worth 1,000 words to learn about somebody, and I was like, this guy’s got a beard, like you. – Hair a little bit like me. – Better, also, well look, he’s got a dog that looks just like Barbara. – A dog that looks just like Barbara. – And I showed Rhett the picture, and he was like, alright, hire him. – Yeah, that’s all it takes around here. If you have a dog that looks like Barbara, you’re hired. So anyway, and let’s set her down and let her run around. So anyway, we hire Saagar. – We actually didn’t talk to him about his dog. – We never talked to him about the dog, I mean I talked to him about his beard and how I was a little intimidated by it, but I didn’t say, hey, and you also have a dog that looks like my dog, cause I thought that would be weird, cause I didn’t want to tell him that I’d been looking at his Instagram. But let’s bring Saagar in, cause Saagar’s gonna give us his side of the story, and we’ll pick it up from here. – You gonna give him a chair, you get a chair? – He’s gonna take that chair right there, why don’t you take that chair and give him this chair. – It’s Chair Olympics here, this is great. – Hey guys. – Hey Saagar. – So, how’s it going? – Good, okay, so, – It’s going good, thanks for asking. – What happened on your end? – So I’d been working here for six weeks at this time, and I’d been playing with Barbara every once in a while when she comes in, and I would always think, man this dog looks just like Jpeg, which is the name of my dog. – Jpeg? – Jpeg, as in like the file format. – Yeah, for photos. – Right, right, right, cause like I take photos, and Erica, who I was in a relationship with when we got the dog together, unfortunately that didn’t work out, but we still have a beautiful dog. – We have joint custody of a beautiful dog. – And she didn’t change the name from Jpeg after you left the picture? – No, just the last name. – The child took her name, okay. – But everybody’s good. – Yeah, I mean everybody’s good, yeah, yeah. Dog is healthy, beautiful as ever. So she texted me, and she’s like, I wanna tell you something that I’ve been wanting to tell you for a long time. And I was like, okay, what is this? And she’s like, it’s about, – Not a good start. – It’s about Jpeg, she’s like, I’ve been stalking the place, the Instagram page of the place that we got Jpeg from to try to find his siblings. – Okay, she was obsessed about finding siblings. – Yeah, she wanted Jpeg to be able to play with a sibling. You know, like reconnect with one of his siblings, which I think is pretty cool. – You guys weren’t thinking that. – We talked about it at one point, – You were just thinking, let’s get her to stop biting. – No, after the TMZ thing, Jessie would be like, should we call, and maybe get em to reunite, get Barbara to reunite with her siblings? But we felt that we were taken advantage of by the place with the TMZ thing, so we just never did it. – Okay, so then she says, I’m looking at their Instagram page, and what? – Yeah, so she goes to their tagged photos, to see if she could find a puppy that was adopted that looks just like Jpeg around the same time that Jpeg was adopted. – Smart. – And she found a picture, and she says, I think you work for a guy that has Jpeg’s sister. – The Youtube star Rhett McLaughlin that got a new poo? – Spent $1,000 on clothes? – Yeah, that’s me. – So it wasn’t, did she see the TMZ photo? – She saw that TMZ photo. And she said, do you work for a guy named Rhett McLaughlin? And I was like, hold on, hold on, what’s happening here? And I was like, yeah. – And this adoption place is nowhere close to here. – No, it’s very far. – It’s like a long ways away in LA time. – Okay, so then you end up, you actually are talking to my wife Jessie. – And I show her this video of Jpeg getting his vaccination shots like right after, and yeah, I showed her this video, and, – Okay, so let’s see the video. This is the video that he showed Jessie. – [Saagar On Video] We named, we renamed him Jpeg. – [Female] Jpeg? – [Saagar On Video] So this is Jpeg, and Jpeg, this is your little sister, we’re gonna call you PDF. – No not PDF, Barbara. – We didn’t know that at the time. – That my friends is Barbara, yes. – It’s crazy, you took an iPhone video, it was just the two of them, those were the only ones in the litter? – Well you had already adopted Jpeg, – Three weeks ago. – And was bringing, cause Barbara had been adopted right before Jpeg was, – [Saagar] Five minutes before. – But then she was brought back, and then when he comes back to the place, Barbara’s back there just waiting for the McLaughlins to show up to rescue her. – And then you guys showed up. – And right now, – Did you guys meet too? – No, we didn’t meet. – No, no, no, we didn’t meet, that was two days later. This was January 30th. – It’s a cool enough story. – But right now, they’re going to reunite for the very first time. We have kept them apart, but they are going to meet, brother and sister, once again. – Okay here we are in the dog reunion zone, I have placed both owners facing away from each other. I think they can sense the presence of another dog, cause their really into, – [Rhett] Get to it Link! – What, I just wanna tell a story to you guys for a second. No, what I’m gonna do, is I’m going to give a countdown, three, two, one, turn, and then you’ll turn, and the dogs will see each other for the first time in over a year, are you ready? – Yes! – Three, two, one, turn. (romantic classical music) – What, Barbara, it’s your brother, don’t be mad. Did you guys have a thing? (growling) – Oh, sibling rivalry. – Barbara. – [Link] Maybe put em down and see if they’ll hug. – She never does this. She never gets, – We got some leash tangling happening. – Guys, guys, don’t you remember each other, all those family dinners at the teats? Don’t you remember the family dinners at the teats? – Please tell me that’s the last name of a family. – Be friends. – [Link] I think they’re just, they’re freaking out because they feel like, – I’ve really never seen her growl, and she’s never growled at another dog, and she growled at her brother. – [Link] Hey, you know. – If there’s someone you’re gonna growl at, – Right. – It’s gonna be your brother. – It actually makes a little bit of sense. – Well let em sniff each other’s butts. They’re doing the ring around the, – [Rhett] Ring around the butt sniff. You guys remember your mom? Because we have no way of finding her, hey boo-die. – There’s three other siblings, right? Now we wanna bring them in. – Come on in guys. – Bring em in. CGI. – Hello Barbara, say hello to Jpeg. – You know what, I think the perfect way to cap this off is to have a family portrait. – [Link] Okay guys, come on in, and I’ll show you where to place your dogs.
