in high school we went on the most epic double date ever I’m hung from what you idiot now talk about good mythical morning today’s episode is brought to you by the rub some bacon on it t-shirt get it school mode forgive us if you’re growing tired with that or if you just haven’t be tuning in and where are we at well we’re in our old French classroom we’re in North Carolina this is our where we went to high score near Central High School is now coach gages history class Thank You coach gage for letting us reminisce about all of our high school memories in here and think of as no one’s in the room listening because it would just add a level of awkwardness I think there might be some people at the doors listening what are these boys up to you hmm yesterday we talked a little bit about our exploits in the sports world today we’re gonna talk about exploits in them the world of the lady ladies hello ladies hello okay now for freshman year I remember there being so many hopes tacked on to moving into high school because and the chief hope was on the fact that there are entire new pools of women from other towns from other towns yet will now go to school with us that we can date we don’t have to keep dating the same girl over and over again like we would do right you know we would just like trade off oh you’re going with Leslie okay I’ll wait and then I’ll go with that oh you know you’re going with him well then we’ll switch off right how high school can present a new new opportunity at least that was the hope right and I remember you know you have to get used to the bells in the common area I went into the common area and I remember somebody came up to me and I can’t remember who it was because I was so memorable rise by the news I was told link Tabitha I’ll just go ahead and say your name or full name sure can I say that sure tabitha norris likes you tabatha norris I knew of this Tabitha Norris she’s very good look everybody knew about everything and here’s the key she was a sophomore well she was a full year older than me at least in couch it she was a great older she could be many years older I don’t have a clue but you know upperclassmen likes me what are you sure and then they said look and I looked across the common area and she was looking at uh uh and I was like oh my gosh and I was just struck with fear now that’s how I reacted that’s not how I should have reacted and I’m gonna teach my son and my other son both of them to be ready to be ready for things like this to expect things like this to Africa I know how are ya I remember being afraid to go up and talk to her and kind of I kind of force myself to do it and it was really awkward now you in stark contrast had had an entirely different approach and so I remember you telling me about Jamie yeah another upperclassman actually wanted Tabitha’s friends they were she was she was also was a sophomore there were these two girls that everybody wanted to date whether you were a junior or senior freshman some stuff whatever everybody wanted to date them and I did have a different approach I well first of all they somebody didn’t come up to you and say hey Jamie like I didn’t wait for that kind of thing I didn’t wait but she brought was like English she she didn’t like you well she didn’t know she liked me okay see exactly that’s exactly that was you that was your mentality yeah the reason why she doesn’t like me is because she doesn’t know I exist yet right which may have been true well it may have been you know this freshman dude who I guess is on the basketball team it wasn’t about listen it wasn’t it I mean I looked like a moron I mean I know I look like a moron I look like a spider of something it was like an insectoid okay but it wasn’t about that he was about the fact that I knew that I wanted to date her yes he did you know I mean I’m like I’m gonna make this happen and one of those same situations at one of the break mm-hmm one of those breaks the nine o’clock breaks I approached her and her friend Stephanie Weber lo I don’t think there’s an aria i think if we below weebo I like Weber law better we below you still need to enunciate it we below yes we below okay and long story short is basically just it’s three syllables that the most important thing is that you get three different syllables out of that okay what I ended up doing long story short is I just sort of went headlong into this into the situation and within two or three days of communicating during the break I had talked Jaime Brown and through Stephanie oh yeah you and I used an intermediary because that was just the way you did it in high school yeah she was not she was then my girlfriend and we started dating now we were freshmen I I was I was beside myself because I was like hold on high school is gonna be awesome because I came to high school and all of a sudden I’m dating what I believe and what most other dudes believe to be like the top girl in the whole school I mean how did this happen very pretty this is going to be awesome high school is gonna be great yes yeah and so I was like I gotta bring leak in on this and and you knew about Tom because I knew that Tabitha liked you and tabatha was you know smoking also and so okay well she didn’t smoke she was attractive right and so we’re not attracted to smokers so I came up with this idea for the double date now keep in mind that we couldn’t try we were freshmen and these girls could have been dating dudes who could drive but they were dating us who needed to be driven around by my parents Tabitha was not dating me she was still just interested in me buddy were having conversation yes yes you were dating Jamie so then you set it up let’s go out on a date yeah but let’s let’s make it a double date with Lincoln Tabitha yeah thank you yeah okay you’ve you’re you’ve never really expressed gratitude for that I just did okay so Rhett’s parents were driving the dynasty and they both both of your parents get in the two front seats of the dynasty come to my house pick me up now you and I are in the back seats of the dynasty there are the two front seats we go to Jamie Brown’s house and Tabitha is there yeah and then I’m like oh space is gonna be tight I mean this just a sedan this is not like an SUV this is you know this is 1993 so we’re talking nobody had a SUV they just had sedans and so for these four teenagers the two freshman boys us and the two sophomore girls get into the back of this I remember Tabitha guy didn’t want hormones in the back of that car which I’m sure if my parents joke he needed to roll the window down this is horrible yeah I remember when you got inside so we were so close to each other well we were we were the bookends and the ladies were next to it but we were we were enjoying ourselves so like I was like this is such a high-pressure situation okay so the goal is my parents are going to drive us to the twin plaza that is a theater and done that’s still there done North Carolina there’s two theaters there and they were showing home alone – and so it’s like all right and this wasn’t like a retro thing that’s just how old we are that’s when it was out how long’s who was in the theaters and we were going to a double date with Jamie and Tabitha in the back of the dynasty they were gonna drop us off they weren’t gonna watch the movie right like to see – we’re talking from Lillington to done we’re talking like a 20 minute ride yeah on for 421 highway 421 now at the time well I you know I’m just gonna let you pick it up from here because well you know it’s what did you say it’s a long trip down a two-lane road 421 and I just remember being so high-strung and so nervous about the whole thing sweating from every orifice and you don’t know what to say because what from an orifice you can but you also you don’t know what to say no way and didn’t your parents or in the front seat and so we’re going on the 421 and I remember thinking that we’re halfway there and nobody’s talking like no one’s saying anyhow I say nothing and so I’m like why I got a I got a break the tension I got to say something that’s it well it sure will be nice when they make this road four lanes and my dad who sensed the comedy in that situation it was like yep lick it’s your will your will be no really nice and then there was no more that was like it that was the only thing that was said it was during the trend a whole tree and then they just drop this off and we watch home alone to now fast fort I ended up dating Jamie for a couple of months you never you never sealed the deal with Tabitha you had no follow-through nerves man man the nerves got the plants you would on a date with her she liked you and then you never did anything after that and I was too busy for Jamie I just said listen sigh you know that was my one chance and I blew it I’m below it talking about how many lanes the road didn’t have but then a couple of months later I break up with Jamie because first you know she’s a great girl I was like you know I can’t lose I mean if freshman year within the first week I’ve got the best-looking girl he’s cool what else can happen I’m gonna break up with her and just reset and see what else happened and that turned out to be a big mostella was a mistake I didn’t date anyone else until my junior year but and and me on the other hand I never I never started the relationship with Tabitha and then in in English class Selena Bullard who was a freshman but she was very pretty yeah and very outgoing but you know she asked me to the FLL dance right right as friends I guess or at least that’s what I thought and so my mom takes me to pick her up I didn’t realize you were supposed to go to the dance fashionably late we went to the FLL dance 45 minutes early that was not cool which was weird and then so we’re sitting there by the time everybody else shows up like I felt like we had had a quality date by that point I remember Jamie shows up she had just broken up you had just broken up with her days before she went there stag yeah or alone I didn’t go I don’t have a day you weren’t even there and she started asking me to dance this is Jamie mm-hmm so I started dancing with Jamie every single dance right like oh but yeah I remember good enough for Rhett good enough for me yes you came home and you told me that she was like putting the moves on you like Oh dancing with that she was she was on you she was up on you dancing and I was and I didn’t know what was happening you didn’t in any you know it physically mentally emotionally I was just but then I remember looking around towards the end of the dance and hate me ladies you know I deserve it Selena was nowhere to be found so I walk outside in just in time to catch her getting in her mom’s car she and she turned around and she said I called my mom to come get me now I said why she said because you’re not my date and I you know paint me ladies you know I deserve it but see the thing is and I went back in and danced with Jamie some more but I never I never I never dated her either Selena was a great girl you could have dated her and Jamie didn’t will actually want to date you genuine just sort of just plain she was using mazing you to get back at me yeah and I didn’t even know it and so nothing was gonna happen there you ignored your date you had no game but you know it doesn’t matter you’re married now you know you don’t need game and you know what it was for the best and having game is not a good thing you just need to have a good wife end of story okay I love you Christy she’s my wife let’s in this episode before we say anything else that will make you not like us and spend the wheel of mythicality wow you might as well as upon it and then I stopped it in the name on see what’s not let’s see what it’s gonna land on oh it landed on motorcyclists terrorize a small town okay so let’s keep going down hey sure will be nice when they store set it on fire we’d spin on this run over some old people we’ll get some more people I was gonna take this baby hey I took someone’s baby oh that’s good that’s good we can we could raise it raise it is like the Secretary of the motorcycle club and look there’s a girl who I could take to the FL out days but then dance with another girl her name they’ll terrorize her name is Arizona think about gas
