Are Amazon bestsellers really the best? – Let’s talk about that. (lively music) Good Mythical morning. – The amount of things sold on Amazon is completely overwhelming. I mean, even when you’re looking for just one thing, every different version of that one thing is immediately available to you. So I’ve noticed, maybe you have too, that Bezos provides you with these little helpful flags to make certain items stand out. – I’ve noticed Bezos. – Yeah, you’ve, and you’ve probably seen these. You got the Best Seller flag. You got the Amazon’s Choice flag. Now, are you more of a best seller man or an Amazon’s Choice man? – I don’t like to be manipulated. I’m a Rhett’s choice man. That’s my own system. – Okay, well today, we’re gonna check out some trendy products sold on Amazon to see if the Amazon best seller truly stands out from the crowd, or if they’re really no better than the rest. It’s time for, “Can We Tell-er The Best Seller From The Rest, Feller?” – Okay, each round, we’re gonna be given three products. They’re all the same version of the same product, but they have different categories. One is the best seller. One is Amazon’s Choice. And the other is just randomly plucked from the many options available. And our job is to try ’em out and then guess which one is the best seller. – Yeah, whoever can correctly guess the best selling product is gonna get a point. And we can also get an extra point if we’re able to correctly identify Amazon’s Choice. – Now, you might be wondering what is Amazon’s Choice? – What is Amazon’s Choice? – Well actually, it’s a little bit dark and mysterious when you start looking into it because Amazon hasn’t been completely forthright about exactly how they determine this, but based on our research, our best guess is that a product is deemed Amazon’s Choice when it’s prime eligible, in stock and available to ship immediately. It also has a low return rate compared to similar products, is highly rated, and it is a popular item. So it is something that people like. – And sometimes, Amazon’s Choice is them choosing the thing that is an Amazon branded product. – Well, you got to ask Bezos about that. – So that’s part of it. Okay, in the end, whoever loses has to say what their favorite product was from the episode and then get all jelly when they have to watch the winner take it home. – Oh, okay. Bring on that Bezos booty. (lively music) – [Stevie] If there ever was a product for curing the blues, it would be a weighted blanket. These were invented to help calm anxiety and sold like crazy on Amazon in 2020, for obvious reasons.
