Come over here. It’s time to catch the fish with Granddad. – Let’s talk about that. (upbeat theme music) Good Mythical Morning! – You know, back in my day, we didn’t have the interwebs or any electronic doodads to entertain us. – Oh, no. All we needed was a granddad, a kid and a fish to have a good time. – That’s right, sonny. And you know what? I think everybody should be playing “Catch the Fish with Granddad”. – You bet you a bottom dollar, that’s right. It’s time to officially bring “Catch the Fish with Granddad” to the world. It’s time for- – [Rhett and Link] “Catch the Fish with Granddad” – Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the “Catch the Fish with Granddad” arena zone. – This is a historic morning in Mythical history, the first ever “Catch the Fish with Granddad” tournament! (crew cheers) – That’s right, Link. This game has come a long way since its inception years ago. And at its core, the idea of the game is simple, one granddad, one kid, one fish to catch. – By the end of this tournament, one granddad will be left standing, and he will go home with the coveted Big Granddaddy, Big Fish trophy. Hmm. So without any further ado, what do you say we meet our first competitors? – I say let’s do it. – Kicking things off, please welcome the jolly, the leisurely, the cute as a button Gnome Granddad Dinky. (whimsical music) – Ooh, yeah! I’m Gnome Granddad Dinky, and I’m here to run you across my garden of pain! Fake fish pain. – Wow. Okay, and making his way to the other side of the fish column, give it up for the zenful, the meditative, the granddad with the most solid core, it’s Yoga Granddad Nirvana Sky. (serene music) (crew laughs) – Namaste, namaste. I’m Yoga Granddad Nirvana Sky. I had a yoga retreat in India one time and now I’m banned from the country. Jealous? (crew laughs) – There’s no way he could win, right? – Uh, I don’t know. I just, I’m so excited that this is finally happening. – I know. (Rhett laughs) – All right. Granddads, before we get started, let’s go to our ring announcer with the lovely voice for a reminder of the very important rules. – [Stevie] In every matchup, the shorter competitor will act as the kid first, meaning they get first crack at catching the fish. Upon the first short blow of the referee’s whistle, the granddad may begin wiggling his fish. Once the referee gives a long whistle, the kid may begin fishing. The kid will get three attempts to catch the fish. After each attempt, the kid must reset their hands by placing them on their lap. If the kid succeeds at catching the fish, they win one point. After a point is earned, competitors swap roles. After each competitor has had a chance to be the granddad, the inning is over. Every matchup will have three innings, and each player has 20 seconds per attempt to catch the fish. The fish must stay within the fish column, which is the zone between the top of the head and the waist of the shortest competitor. And throughout the competition, both competitors must stay seated at all times. It’s that easy. Back to you, Rhett and Link. – It’s that easy, but it’s not that easy, is it? – Well, I mean, there was quite a bit of rules, actually. But we’re introducing a sport to the world, so you gotta make sure everybody’s on the same page. Okay. And of course, if at any point, our official referee, Davin, needs to address the official “Catch the Fish” rules, AKA the Granddad Gazette, it is always available for further scrutiny. And Link, I believe you have a copy as well. – I’ve been looking at this. It’s great. – Yeah. (crew laughs) It’s captivating reading. – It’s got all the information. All right, with that, there’s nothing left to say except let’s go fishing with granddad. (upbeat rock music) I think it’s gonna be hard for Nirvana Sky to pull this one off. – Uh-huh. – I’m told that he’s tried ayahuasca three times and became a completely different person after each one. – Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes. (crew laughs) Uh-huh. – Okay, granddaddies. I expect a clean match here. Granddaddy Nirvana, you are shorter, so you’ll be catching first. – And it begins. (whistle blows) – Oh, ah! – [Rhett] Look at the flop on that fish. – [Link] That’s a strange flop. – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s it. (whistle blows) – Keep going. (laughs) – Oh, you’re not gonna catch this fish! – [Link] What was that whistle for? – [Rhett] I think that was the time starting. – That’s the catch! One point. (crew cheers) – [Rhett] Wow. (Davin laughs) Okay, I was- – [Link] Nirvana Sky with the quick point. – I was going to criticize Dinky’s method, but he is 5,700 years old. – Oh. – So the fact that his flop is a little bit slow, we typically like to see a flop about this pace. – I think you should criticize him because he has one grandchild who he never visits. – Oh. Okay, reversing the action. – Here we go. Bottom of the first inning. Fish up, please. (whistle blows) Oh, hands on your laps. And you can’t catch until I blow the long whistle. – Yeah, so the short whistle is to get the flopping going. The long whistle is when the catching can start happening. Oh, we’ve got sort of a zigzag pattern here. (whistle blows) I haven’t seen this before. Oh, we got some head motion, which is perfectly legal. – I’m 5,700! – That’s attempt number one. You got two more attempts left and 10 seconds. – Okay, yes. – That was the first whiff of the tournament. – Five seconds left. – I don’t speak to my grandchild! (Rhett laughs) – Three. – He’s doing- (horn blows) – And that’s time. – Okay. – I think Dinky was putting a little too much brain power figuring out what he was gonna say instead of actually trying to catch the fish with granddad. – He’s kinda telegraphing in the same way that like they did in Mike Tyson’s punch. It was like (grunts). You know, you don’t wanna do that. – [Link] I’m saying a line which signifies I’m trying to catch your fish. – [Rhett] You wanna be a little bit more unexpected. – Top of the second inning, score is one zero. He’ll be catching now. – [Link] Of course, there’s three innings total. (whistle blows) – [Rhett] Okay, okay, okay. – The energy level has heightened for Dinky. – Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don’t even know about that. Wow, this is a… (whistle blows) Okay, oh. Okay, yeah. – That is a catch. – [Rhett and Link] And that was a catch. – Yeah, the glove is off, that is a catch. – Wow. (crew applauds) – That was a catch. – [Link] Nirvana Sky seems to be running away with this, but we’re now at the bottom of the second inning. – Well, it does make sense because he only is, receives nutrition from the sun. Did you know that? – [Link] I did not. – Nirvana does not eat any actual food. – Wow, photosynthesis, huh? – Only photosynthesis. – Hmm. – Granddaddy Dinky, if you do not catch this fish, the game is over. – [Rhett] Wow. (whistle blows) We might have a shutout right here at the beginning. – [Link] He seems to be concentrating more, which is good. (whistle blows) – The reason I don’t talk to my grandchild is I don’t approve of some of their choices! (crew laughs) – That’s attempt number one, 12 seconds. – An even longer telegraph. An even longer telegraph. – Wow. – Oh, running out of time. – Five seconds. – Oh, yeah, go again. – I’m not gonna say anything! – Oh! (crew laughs) – That’s attempt number two. (horn blows) And time is up. – Okay, no, yeah, that was- – [Davin] Time is up, unfortunately. – We had to have a reset. – Wow. – [Davin] I think we have the first winner. – [Rhett] There we go. So (crew cheers) moving on to the next round, we have Yoga Granddad Nirvana Sky with the shutout of Granddad Dinky. – [Link] Yes. That is an embarrassing gnome performance, but I know of no other type of gnome performance. – Yeah, right, right, right. (upbeat rock music) It’s time for our second contest in these preliminary brackets. Please welcome the man who always has a fire exit plan, Sexy Fireman Granddad Zane. (upbeat music) – I’m Sexy Fireman Granddad Zane, and I’ll hose you! I’ll save a kitten from a tree at five and crush the bones of my enemies at six. Then at seven, I watch Chicago Fire with my granddaughter. – Big fan of Chicago Fire, which makes all kinds of sense. (crew laughs) – And his opponent, the most fearsome competitor under the light of a full moon, it’s Weregranddad. – Hey! (chuckles) Where granddad? Here granddad. (crew laughs) I don’t have any more grandkids ’cause I ate ’em. So I have no qualms of eating this skin man over here. And also, my only family is the fleas currently on my body. I’m lonely, and I wanna eat some fish. I’m also passionate about voting. (crew laughs) – Whoa! – All right. – Weregranddad. She called the fireman a skin man. – He, he, he called- – He, he, he. Yeah, he. We’re all hes today. We’re all granddads. – [Link] Yeah, that’s right. – All right, granddaddies, please take a seat. – Okay, as our competitors are getting settled in, I do wanna point out that maybe if you were confused about the rules at the beginning, each inning, they have 20 seconds to actually catch, and they have three attempts. And all it takes, it doesn’t, time doesn’t stop when they make an attempt. If they put their hands down on their hips, they can go back and make an attempt. So you can actually do three quick attempts, you know, for a catch if you wanted to. – We call that the wham, bam, thank you grand ma’am. – No one has done that yet. (crew laughs) – Weregranddad, you’re shorter by like half an inch. So you’re gonna catch first. – Yes. Okay. – [Davin] Graddaddy Zane, fish up, please. – Here ye. (whistle blows) – There we go. – All right. – And- – Ready for this? Where is it gonna go? – You can start catching on the long whistle. – Oh, okay. – I like the flop technique. – Okay, flop seems traditional. (whistle blows) – Here we go, I’ll go a little crazy! – Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. – He’s faster. He just sped up. – Look at the speed. Look at the speed, whoa. – Where is it going? You don’t know where it is. You don’t know where it is. – That’s one. – [Link] That’s one attempt. – Wait, don’t stop. – [Link] Keep going. – [Rhett] Keep going. We keep going, we keep going. – That’s two. – Can’t catch me. I’m too fast. – That’s three, and that’s time. – Granddaddy Zane is too fast. – [Link] Three rapid attempts. – [Davin] Zero points. – [Link] Now that you clarified the rules- – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah, yeah. – [Link] That was helpful. – Weregranddad, you’re the fish now. Granddaddy Zane, you’re catching. You may start wiggling- – Hang on. – [Davin] On my short whistle. – I feel like that’s gonna lacerate my hands. – Oh! – I’m kinda scared too. – [Weregranddad] Should’ve worn a shirt, skin boy. – Do we need a check on the legality of the fish? I mean, we’ve got- – Yeah, I’m concerned about the glasses. – [Rhett] That’s a drapery issue. – I can take it off maybe? (Weregranddad screams) – [Link] That is not regulation. – There we go. (Weregranddad growls) – [Rhett] It was also apparently part of her body. Part of his body. (laughs) – [Davin] I’m sorry. – My son. (laughs) – [Link] There’s a lot we still have to figure out. – Yeah, yeah, right. We’re all learning here. (Weregranddad laughs) Oh, man. (whistle blows) – You may start wiggling. – Okay. – And you may start wig catching on my long whistle. – [Rhett] Look at that. (whistle blows) (Weregranddad screams) (crew laughs) – [Link] That was- – I caught you like a- – [Link] Not difficult. – Right out of the Chrysler Tower in the Great Chicago Fire! – [Rhett] I think we all saw that coming. – [Link] That’s one point. – [Rhett] I think we all saw that coming. – [Link] Poor skin man, AKA Granddad Zane. – [Rhett] Skin man took absolutely no time on that. – [Link] Mm-hmm. – Top of second inning, score is one-zero. Fish up. – You’re gonna get embarrassed again. (whistle blows) – [Davin] And here we go. – I’ll give you a free shot. Oh, she got me! – [Crew] Whoa! – Oh, she got me! – That was a quick catch by Weregranddad. – The score is tied. (crew laughs) – [Rhett] Zane was taunting and I think he regrets it at this point. – [Link] Yep, yep. – Score is tied. Bottom of the second inning, score is one to one. Granddaddy Zane- – [Link] This is dramatic. – [Davin] Now you’re catching. (whistle blows) – [Rhett] Okay. – [Link] You can tell that he’s taking it up a notch with the flopping. – [Rhett] Yeah, not much- (whistle blows) (Weregranddad mumbles) – [Link] Oh, there was a fake. – You’ll tire yourself out soon! – [Link] Oh, and a whiff. – One! – [Link] Get it, get it! – [Rhett] You gotta keep going, keep going, keep going. – Two. – [Rhett] Keep going, keep going, keep going. – Three. – Oh, no! Oh, no. – [Link] He thought he had it. – [Rhett] At first, I thought that Weregranddad was gonna tire herself out. – See, the thing that should have happened, Granddad Zane did not seize the opportunity when after the first attempt, everybody seems to be in a total stupor. – Everyone is adjusting to the rules of the game. This is what’s happening as you introduce a new sport. They don’t understand. You got 20 seconds- – Three attempts in 20 seconds. – As soon as you reset your hands, you can go again. You can go again. You never stop flopping. – That was his opportunity. – This may be the final inning, but we’ll see how this inning goes. – All right. – Fish up. – [Rhett] Okay, all right. – [Link] If weregranddad (whistle blows) grabs it, he gets the win. (whistle blows) – Turbo Zane! (Weregranddad barks) Turbo Zane! (Weregranddad laughs) – One. – Oh, no. – [Link] One attempt. That was close. – Don’t go higher than her head. – Very close. Oh, oh. And she has, he has one final attempt. And it’s- – [Crew] Oh! – The inning is over. – [Zane] Defense wins something. – [Davin] Granddaddy Zane if you catch this fish- – [Rhett] What is that accent? – [Davin] You will win this game. (whistle blows) – Uh, hang on, oh. – You can start flopping. (crew laughs) – [Rhett] Yeah. – The flopping has begun. (whistle blows) – Really? Don’t distract me. – One! – That’s one. – Two. – That’s two. Oh, my goodness! – Oh! – That’s still a tie. We’re going for an extra inning. – Extra innings. Already, extra innings. – Wow. So in extra innings, both granddads have an opportunity to catch. – Just like baseball. – [Link] And then it just continues until only one person has caught in an inning. – Here we go, fish up. (whistle blows) – I have angina. – [Davin and Weregranddad] What? – I have angina. (crew laughs) – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah, he has- – It’s a medical term, you weirdos. – [Rhett] He has angina. – Okay, you can start flopping now. And you can start catching on the long whistle. (whistle blows) – Oh, no! – [Link] Weregranddad looks a little winded. – [Rhett] Okay. – One! – Okay, okay. – Two, that was not a catch. Three! – [Crew] oh! – [Rhett] Wow. – [Link] And now- – [Rhett] Man! – [Link] Granddad Zane has the opportunity to win. (whistle blows) – [Rhett] Zane has a chance to take it home. (Weregranddad screams) Oh, there it is! – [Link] There it is! – There we go, we have a winner! – [Link] There it is! – [Rhett] Okay! – [Link] Sexy Fireman Granddad Zane moves on. (upbeat rock music) – After extra inning. Okay. Welcome to the semi-finals, and returning for their shot to advance to the finals, it’s Yoga Granddad Nirvana Sky. (serene music) – Namaste, namaste. Warrior pose was named after me ’cause I downward dog on the grave of my enemies. Peacefully, of course, yes. – Well, that is some serene smack talk. – Hmm. – And his opponent, he earned a round one buy after several convincing performances in previous matchups in “Good Mythical More”, it’s the beloved fan favorite, Papi Frank. (upbeat dance music) – Oh, yeah, Papi Frank! Wait for it. Papi Frank makes you wait for it. Papi Frank hasn’t been this excited since he saw Rita Moreno in “80 for Brady”. Papi Frank. – Papi Frank said Papi Frank four times. (crew laughs) – Yeah. He also said wait for it and I don’t know what it was. – Yeah, right, right. (crew laughs) I don’t know if it happened or not. – Where’s my drink? – Now Nirvana Sky has rested up a little bit since the first round, but Papi Frank has just been resting exclusively. – I don’t think Papi Frank ever rests. He just parties. – Papi Frank, you’re shorter so you’ll be catching first. Here we go. Fish up, hands on your laps. – Oh, Papi Frank’s feet, off the ground. (crew laughs) – His feet are off the ground. – There’s no rule about where the feet are. There’s no rule about that. Feet do not have to be planted, apparently. – Is Papi gonna be able to reach that fish? Is it in the column? (whistle blows) – You wish you can jiggle like this. – Papi Frank! – Don’t you, Papi Frank. – Oh my gosh! – Whoa! – What? – I will call that as a catch, yeah. – Yeah, that’s a catch. – Papi Frank- – Hair is part of the fish. – I will call that a catch, yeah. – [Nirvana Sky] You don’t pull a lady’s hair. – [Rhett] That’s a catch. – We’re not the referee, but I do agree with the call because once you have part of the fish in your hand permanently- – If you are controlling any part of the fish, you are controlling the fish. – Right. (whistle blows) – [Rhett] Papi Frank is banned from all Margaritavilles. (whistle blows) – That’s a weak wiggle. – Okay. It’s a stutter, it’s a stutter. – [Rhett and Link] Oh. – That was a quick dodge. – Oh, that counts as your second. – Yep, yep, you can’t leave the thighs. – Three. – There you go. – That’s it. – Papi Frank! Nobody clapped but it’s okay. – No one is cheering for Papi Frank at this point. (crew applauds) – It’s now the second inning. Papi Frank has one point. Here we go. – Now the wig is really a liability. It’s hanging down approximately a foot. (whistle blows) So we’re learning our, oh, look at that. – The way his feet come up. Oh, a little grooming- – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – For the fish. – Okay, all right. I think- (whistle blows) – It’s very loud in Papi Frank’s ear. – The feet up maybe- – Oh! – That can’t be fair! – See, there it is again. – Hey, listen. – That can’t be fair. – Another hair catch. – Well, yeah. – [Rhett] We’re learning a lesson. – That can’t be fair, bro. Like, what? – Well, okay, here’s the deal. The hair is part of the fish, but you do reserve the right, moving forward, if you would like to get rid of the hair on the fish. – Alter. Yeah, if you wanna alter your fish, that is permissible. – So I think what we’re gonna do is that we’re gonna nullify that, and I think we’re gonna do something about this. – Oh, my precious locks! Oh. – The fish feels no pain in the hair in case you’re wondering. – So the score is still one-zero. Papi Frank, you’re gonna catch again for the top of the second inning. – [Link] So the referee, Davin, has wiped out the second catch. – [Rhett] Granted another opportunity here. – [Link] Okay. – Here we go. Fish up. (whistle blows) – [Link] Now that the fish has a little crop top- – You wish you could move like this. You don’t stretch enough. (whistle blows) – Let’s see if Papi can reach and grab without the hair this time. – Oh, that’s one. – Whoa! – And he almost fell. – Papi launched himself. – Yeah, that’s what happens when your feet are not on the ground. – You see how he’s going for an up and over technique? – Oh, okay. – I think it’s- – That’s three. – And Papi strikes out on the top of the second inning. – [Rhett] Papi Frank is getting a little refreshment. – Is Papi Frank drunk? Yes. – That is non-alcoholic. He is drunk, but that is a non-alcoholic beverage. – Right, right, both are true. – He was already drunk when he showed up. – Fish up. Hands on your lap. – Fish up. (whistle blows) – [Link] Oh, yeah. See the incremental movements of Papi Frank. (whistle blows) – [Rhett] Oh, oh, okay. Okay, keeps you guessing. – [Link] Just to keep him guessing. (crew laughs) – That’s one. – [Link] That’s one attempt. – Two. – And that’s two. And has Papi Frank dyed his hair? – Papi Frank! – What’s going on there? – Okay, yep. – That is a catch. – That was a catch. – That is a catch. – That was ruled a catch. – The score is one to one. – The way that it works is if you get any part, you don’t have to get it off, as that was definitely a snag, but that counts. That’s still one point. – Here we go, for the final inning, potentially final inning. Fish up. (whistle blows) – [Link] That’s right. – You can’t even see. – Okay, so Papi pretty much passed to have a catch here in order to put (whistle blows) Nirvana Sky on the defense. – I don’t know about those socks, Papi. – Okay, a lot of trash talk. Oh, there you go. – That is a catch. – That was just- – And once again- – That is a catch. – [Link] That was a control- – [Davin] Two to one. – [Link] Catch and release. – [Davin] You guys are tied up. – Now, Nirvana has to tie it up. – If he does not, then Papi Frank takes the win. (whistle blows) – [Link] And again, is that a dye job or is that a wig on hair? (whistle blows) – [Rhett] I don’t know. I do like the color though. – [Link] Beautiful. (Nirvana Sky laughs) – That is a catch! – [Crew] Oh! – [Rhett] Wow. – [Link] Papi Frank is shocked. But from my perspective, I am not. – [Rhett] Okay, we’re going into an extra inning. – We’re going to an extra inning. Here we go. Fish up, hands on your lap. – [Rhett] This is an intense battle. – You got it. – [Link] Papi’s hair is falling off. – Yeah, Papi’s about to lose his entire wig. (whistle blows) If it is a wig. We’re not sure. – One. – It’s really far from the column. – Two! – Papi Frank’s not doing himself any favors. – Oh, Papi Frank has just lost- – You have 10 seconds. – His toupee. He’s all over the place. – Papi Frank! Be careful, please! – That was on purpose. – Good gracious. – Papi Frank! – [Link] Papi Frank’s trying to keep his cool, but he’s not in a good position right now. – [Davin] Bottom of the inning. – Papi, fix your hair. – [Link] Nirvana Sky has a chance to take it. – [Davin] Okay, here we go. Hands on your lap, fish up. (whistle blows) – Oh, right. – Toupee is off. – That looked purposeful. – How dare you. (whistle blows) – I believe that was a distraction. Well, Papi Frank plays high in the fish column. He’s playing with danger. – Uh-huh. – Oh, oh, oh! – One. – [Rhett] That was a clear violation of the fish column. He went above his own head. (whistle blows) – [Link] And here we go. – Watch the height now. – Nirvana Sky has a chance to take the win. (whistle blows) – One! – Ooh, that was a big miss. – Two! – That was not as big of a miss. – Three! – Ooh. And play continues. – Papi Frank! (whistle blows) (competitors laugh) – [Link] Papi Frank is having a ball. – Oh, that’s a catch. – Yo! – That’s a catch, that’s a coach, that’s a catch! – That is quite a catch. – That’s a catch. (crew applauds) – And now Nirvana guy has to answer or he’s gonna be sent hack with his tackle box. (Papi Frank laughs) – Granddaddy Nirvana, you have to catch this or you lose the game. – Okay. – [Davin] Fish up, hands on your lap. (whistle blows) – Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle wiggle. – Okay, we’ve got a new technique. – You have one foul on you. – Oh, so no wiggle wiggle. I’m not gonna say the wiggle. (whistle blows) – Papi Frank was beginning to say wiggle and then he decided not to. – One! – Just one miss. – All right, that’s perfectly legal. – Two! – Oh, oh, oh. – That was close. – Well, that seemed- – Three! – Oh! – That was not a catch. – Nope. – [Rhett] That was not a catch! – Papi Frank wins! – [Rhett] And that means Papi Frank is moving on! – [Link] Moves on. (crew applauds) – Pina coladas on the house! Papi Frank! – [Rhett] Okay. He’s offering non-alcoholic drinks to everyone. (upbeat rock music) – Quick reminder, my dad’s podcast, “Dispatches from Myrtle Beach”, is back from hiatus. Every other Tuesday, you got the audio version. Every other Thursday, you got the video version on its YouTube channel at Dispatches from Myrtle Beach. My dad brings me up to speed. He’s fun to hang out with. So please, check it out. – Yes. Now, to decide who will face Papi Frank in the finals, first, we have the returning Sexy Fireman Granddad Zane. – Wait, wait, wait, hold on. Is there a fire in here? Or did Sexy Granddad Fireman Zane forget to put cornstarch in his underpants before kicking down the door of the competition again? – Did not understand the end of what he said. – We need subtitles for Zane. – Huh? (crew laughs) – And his opponent, he also earned a buy after a dominant showing in a recent “Good Mythical More”. It’s Reginald Buckingham III. (upbeat music) – Hey, everyone. It’s Reginald Buckingham III. I tell you what. I woke up this morning and took a couple of Viagra, committed a little tax fraud, and bought myself a new yacht. And I’m feeling ready to crush the competition. And there’s no rules against performance enhancing drugs, right? – [Rhett and Link] Right. (crew laughs) – Wow. Wow, what an entrance, what an entrance. – Kinda similar grandpa voices. – Yeah, yeah. – [Link] I don’t know how this one is gonna shake out. – [Rhett] They must be from the same part of the country. – Granddaddies, please take your seat. – I like how Reginald holds his fish. – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah. – Thank you. – Well, he does own three ponies. – Please touch fish for respect. – Oh, all right. – What happens on your yacht? – Why’d you steal my grandpa voice? (Rhett laughs) – I didn’t steal nothin’! – [Link] That’s a good question. – [Davin] Granddaddy Zane, you are shorter- – Huh? – So you’re gonna catch first. Granddaddy Reginald, you’ll be the fish. Fish up. – All right. – Start flopping. (whistle blows) – Ooh, I’m flopping. (whistle blows) It’s my first time today, ooh. – Oh, no! – [Link] No. – [Rhett] oh. – [Link] Nowhere close. Oh, all over it though! – That’s a catch. – Son of a biscuit! – [Link] Wow. It was not even an attempt at an evasion. – And honestly, that first evasion was technically out of the fish column, so I’m kinda glad that Zane got the second attempt there. – Fish up. (whistle blows) – [Link] He’s trying to tie it up at the bottom of first inning. (whistle blows) – One, that’s not a catch. – [Link] That was a quick one. – Two. – [Rhett] Oh, oh. – [Link] Oh, he’s breathing hard. – Oh, watch out there. That’s a warning. – [Link] Ooh, that was three attempts. – That’s three, and that’s not a catch. – [Rhett] Yeah. – [Link] Reginald is second guessing himself. – [Rhett] We gotta watch the top of that fish column. – [Link] He knows he’s not performing at his best. – I’ve been sitting backstage for an hour. – [Rhett] Yeah, right, yeah. – I didn’t get to warm up. – [Rhett] He got out of his groove. He got out of his groove. – Second inning. Score is one-zero. – [Link] You can tell how much he wants this. I love it. – [Rhett] Well, his voice was stolen. – Why are you breathing heavy? (whistle blows) Do you have COPD as well? Oh, there it goes! – [Rhett] Oh! – [Crew] Whoa! – Wow! – [Davin] Two points. – Wow, oh man. – [Davin] Two points. – [Link] I’m feeling for the guy. – [Rhett] Wow, that was- – [Link] The sailor’s gonna have to go back to his yacht. – [Rhett] Oh my god. – [Davin] You have to catch this one. – I understand. – Or else you’re out of the game. – Here’s your fish. Whoops. Whoops. – Fair play, guys, fair play. Come on. Fair play. – Are you seeing this guy? There’s no way he’s not on the juice. – Prune juice. – I don’t know if we have established an association that has said there are rules against performance enhancing drugs. – People are gonna have to start peeing in things. – We’re gonna have to start drug testing. – Fish up. (whistle blows) – Oh no! – Shouldn’t have been hitting that pipe so much. – Watch the height, watch the height. That’s one, not a catch. That’s two, not a catch. – [Link] that was a weak grab. – That’s three, that’s not a catch. – [Link] Oh, man! – And that is game. – [Rhett] That is the game! Oh my gosh, that was a quick one. – [Link] Rapid fire loss by Reginald Buckingham III. – [Rhett] Oh, he’s hosing him. Look at it. Do you see that? Look at that. And there you have it. We’ve got Fireman Zane going to the finals against Papi Frank. (upbeat rock music) – [Link] Mm-hmm. – All right, welcome to the finals of “Catch the Fish with Granddad”. – Yeah. – First up, we have Papi Frank. (upbeat dance music) – It’s Papi Frank! And listen up, mijo. My doctor said kicking your butt is good for my blood pressure. – That’s right. And his opponent, Sexy Fireman Granddad Zane! – Just as the great fires of Rome burned through the Colosseum, so too shall the fires of Sexy Granddad Zane burn through the competition! The glory of light will bathe us all! – As our competitors are entering the column, I will say that referee Davin came up to me before this and said he would like to clarify the rule about the top of the fish column. He said in order for it to be a foul- – I thought you were gonna say he wanted to quit. (Rhett laughs) – He said in order for it to be a foul, it has to, the entire fish has to leave the fish column because we can’t just have some fish- – I’m glad he told you that and not me ’cause I wouldn’t have cared. – Some fish contact or some fish leaving the, that’s like a fish leaving a little bit of the water, you know? Like, it can go up and get a little breath of real air. – All right, Papi Frank, you are shorter so you’re gonna be catching first. Granddaddy Zane, just be careful of his top of the column. It’s not much. – [Rhett] Oh, wow. – That’s offensive, Davin. We respect your short kings! (Papi Frank laughs) (whistle blows) – [Link] Papi Frank is no longer a ginger. – [Rhett] Okay, okay, all right, okay. – [Link] Right in his face. – One, no catch. – [Rhett] Okay, okay, okay. – Two, no catch, and almost a fall. – Where is he going? Oh, he’s strong though. – [Link] His two hands weren’t meeting properly. I think that’s what did him in. There it is. – [Rhett] That’s a catch! – That is definitely a catch. – [Rhett] That’s a catch! – He hooked me! – [Link] One point for Papi Frank. – [Rhett] That counts. – [Link] I love how Papi catches the fish and then looks at us. – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. – I gotta say, I am pulling for Papi Frank even though I should be impartial. I wanna make sure this doesn’t become a big man’s sport too early. – Okay. I don’t know if I can comment on that. – All right, Granddad Zane, hands on your lap, fish up. (whistle blows) – I think if either one of us wins, it’s a big man’s sport. (crew laughs) (whistle blows) – One. – [Link] One evasion. – [Rhett] Okay. – [Davin] Two. – [Link] Two evasions. – You got one. – No! – [Rhett] Oh! – [Link] Papi Frank takes the first inning! – [Rhett] Papi Frank has gotten squirrely. – [Link] Granddad Zane has got his back against the burning ropes. – [Rhett] This is not the beginning anyone saw coming. – Top of the second inning. Papi Frank, you have a one-point lead. Fish up, hands on your lap. (whistle blows) – [Rhett] Okay, okay. – One, not a catch. – [Link] That was close though. – Watch the top. Watch the top. – [Link] The heels are up. There it is! – [Rhett] Oh, there he goes! – And that’s a catch. (crew applauds) Two, and that is a catch. Granddaddy Zane, you have to catch this fish or you’re out of this- – I know the rules! – [Davin] Both hands on your lap. – [Link] This could be it. – [Davin] Fish up. – [Rhett] Wow. – [Link] Do not blink. (whistle blows) – It’s not clear whether I’m a firefighter (whistle blows) or an exotic dancer. – Oh, watch your top there. Watch your top there. One, not a catch. – Ooh, he’s going for a zigzag pattern. – Two, not a catch. You got 13 seconds. – Oh! – No! He caught the forearms. – That’s it! Papi Frank wins the game! – [Link] And there you have it! – [Rhett] Look at that! Can you believe it? – I can believe it. It’s not just the big man’s game. The winner of the first ever “Catch the Fish with Granddad” tournament and the recipient of the Big Granddaddy, Big Fish trophy is Papi Frank! – Papi Frank! (crew cheers) Whoa! – How does it feel to be a champion, Papi Frank? – Papi Frank feels like his carpal tunnel’s back, but I’m excited. – [Link] Yeah. – Whoo! – He’s definitely gonna be sore for a few weeks. Until next time, (Rhett laughs) thanks for subscribing and clicking that bell. – You know what type it is. – Hi, I’m Haley. This is Sweets from Massachusetts, born and raised in North Carolina. And I’m playing “Catch the Fish with Granddad” with my cat. It’s time to spin the Wheel of Mythicality. – Ooh. – We gotta bring cats into this. – Wow, that- – Yes! – You know what? That’ll really set it off. Click the top link to watch us guess the movie from only its colors in “Good Mythical More”. – And to find out where the Wheel of Mythicality is gonna land. (laughs) Somebody got a haircut. Did somebody get a little haircut? – Yeah.
