GMM 2446: How Does This Product Work? (Game)

Today, we solve the mystery of the elusive product. – Let’s talk about that. (mellow music) (arms warbling) (tongue croaking) (eyes warbling) (heads warbling) (egg cracks) (sun sizzling) (air whooshing) “Good Mythical Morning.” – A few months ago, we played a game where we had to try and figure out how a mystery product worked without any indication of what it was or any instructions, and we crushed it! We won so good! Y’all didn’t know what hit you! We were the best at it! We schooled you! And you know what? We’re gonna play again! Yes! – What he said. It’s time for “Do You Know What Dat Doodad Do?” (lighthearted jazz music) – [Stevie] Okay, boys, a little reminder of how this game works. Each round, you’ll receive a mystery product. And working together, you must figure out what the product is and how to operate it, meaning you actually successfully put it to use. You’ll have four minutes each round. And one of you will need to run to the Mythi Mart shelf- – It’s back. – To grab any and all items required to use the product. But the shelf also includes a whole bunch of useless decoys, so you’ll need to be selective because every decoy item you bring back will cost you five seconds on the game clock. You may make as many trips to the Mythi Mart as you want, but just remember that the clock is ticking and bad picks only make it tick faster. And because you crushed it last time- – Yeah. – [Stevie] This time, you only be able to lose one round if you wanna win and take home some strange products of your very own. – Okay. – Oh, man, you shouldn’t have gloated so hard, dude. – We gotta win all but one round? Huh? – Yeah? – Yeah. – And I will point out that from this angle, I can’t see anything in the Mythi Mart. – Well, you don’t have to worry about it. I’ll go shopping. – [Stevie] Your first product is under that thing, (chuckles) and your time starts as soon- – Well, hold on, hold on. Before the time starts, can we talk about who’s gonna shop first? – I’m gonna shop, man. We learned last time that I’m a great shopper. – Okay. All right, go ahead. – [Stevie] Whenever you’re ready. (Rhett sighs) (lively jazz music) – All right. – Okay, start piecing this thing together. – But okay, and then you start shopping, man. – Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. – Just go. Go! – Oh, you know what? I think it’s like a cotton candy maker. – Just go! – Okay. Oh, God. – All right, so- – Oh, there’s… It feels like there’s- – This spins. – Oh, maybe eggs happen. – [Link] This spins and that goes on this. – Oh, do you take popcorn? (product rattling) Does it plug in? Does it make popcorn? – Uh. (sniffing) Does it- – Do you think hot dogs could spin in those things? – No. What else do they have? (Rhett sighs) Why do you have eggs in the basket? – I don’t know. (crew laughing) Do you think it’s whipped cream? – It’s something- – Do you think sand would do something? This is harder than last time. – [Link] Hold up, it’s- – Oh, cotton candy. – [Link] I think it- – I have floss sugar for cotton candy. Yes? – Oh, yes. – [Rhett] Does it plug in, though? Does it get hot? – No, no. It’s hand-powered. (product clicking) (Rhett sighs) But it spins and I think- – How are we gonna make cotton candy? – [Link] I think you’re right, dude. And if I take this- – Oh, no, no, no. Do you it makes a string or something go around? (crew laughing) Do you think it brushes hair? – [Link] Just bring the sugar. – Do you want the green bucket? – Just no. (crew laughing) – Ah. – Yeah. No, bring the sugar. – Okay, bring the sugar and the eggs No eggs. No eggs. Putting the eggs back. – [Link] We don’t need eggs. How do you make cotton candy? – All right, we’ll just do cotton candy. – I know this goes on this- – Oh. – But then. – [Rhett] And this. – [Link] Oh, this goes here. Yes. – [Rhett] We don’t need whipped cream. – And then this goes here. (Rhett sighs) Oh, yeah. (laughs) I’ve figured out how to do this without your help. – Okay. – See, look, I’ve completely assembled this. All right, here we go. (product clicking) And I’m gonna do this. And we need heat, though. (carton thumps) (product clicking) – Did I lose any time? – [Stevie] All four of those things are costing you some time. (chuckles) – Including- – It’s not cotton candy? (crew member laughs) Golly. (crew member laughs) (Rhett grunting) – Okay. Here, you take this. (Rhett sighs) – Get rid of that. – But what do you do? But I don’t understand. – How can it not be cotton candy? All right, what’s something that if you put in here, there’s a tray. – Bubbles. – Bubbles? (object clattering) Yes, bubbles. – [Rhett] Bubbles and water. – Yes, yes. – [Rhett] It makes bubbles. – Yes, come on. We got a minute and a half. (product clicking) All right, so what we’re gonna do is- – [Stevie] 10 seconds removed. – All right, all right. – 10 seconds removed, man. (crew laughing) Both suck. (crew laughing) Here. (panting) – Get. (Rhett grunts) Mr. I’m a Good Shopper. (Rhett grunts) (crew laughing) I’ve done great over here. (Rhett panting) Anything else that- – What is this? – [Link] It’s got this… Rhett, look at me. (crew laughing) – What? – There’s a tray. – [Stevie] Only one minute remains. – Oh! – There’s a tray. – Do you need a towel? – Hey. – Do you need ketchup? What? – There’s a tray here, and it’s circular, and it goes down in this thing perfectly, and it blows in the middle. I can’t believe that it’s not bubbles. (crew laughing) – Do you think it’s vanilla extract? (crew laughing) (Rhett sighing) – There’s remnants of green and orange specs in this thing. – [Rhett] Oh, glitter? – No, uh-huh. – Paint? (Crew laughing) Paint? – Paint? Yes, paint. Paint and maybe a shirt. All right. Paint? – [Stevie] No time deducted. – [Rhett] Oh, shoot, yes! – Yes, yes, yes. – Okay, and then what? A shirt? A shirt, what? – I think it’s a tie-dye- – It’s a tie-dye machine. – [Link] Is there a shirt? – No there’s a towel. – ‘Cause this is- – Can we make a tie-dye towel? – Blacklight, neon, multi-surface, acrylic- – Let’s just do it with this thing. Make a poster? Tie-dye poster? – [Stevie] Oh. (chuckles) (crew laughing) – This is a- – Five seconds removed. – Damn. – Oh, five seconds left! – Oh, hold on, okay. – Three, two, one, blah! (crew laughing) (basket clanging) Oh, boy. – Come on. – Remember in the intro when you were like, “We’re the best!” – Ah! – “We won last time! (buzzer buzzes) We got this!” – Ooh, oh. I did it, Stevie. (product clicking) Look. – [Stevie] I mean, truthfully, you kind of did. – Look. Look at that. – [Stevie] Kind of, but not really. And that’s why Lucas is here to show you actually what you’re supposed to do. – [Lucas] Begin the spin. Begin the spin. (product clicking) – [Link] It’s spin art. Look at that. – Bloop. (product clicking) Bloop. – Dude, now we gotta get all the other ones right. – (sighs) I’m sorry, man. – I’m shopping next time. – Okay. (air whooshes) (lighthearted jazz music) – [Stevie] Okay, this round’s gonna take you a little bit longer, so we’re adding an extra minute to your clock. (Rhett sighs) – Oh, thank you. – Whenever you’re ready. – Do you know what? Stay- – Okay, do you wanna shop this time? – Yes. Stay positive. Don’t be defeated. (Rhett sighs) You messed up last time, but it’s okay. You can redeem yourself. – Hey, man, it’s overwhelming over there. Your mind’s about to be blown. – Go. (Rhett sighs) – Okay, so… But you didn’t even look at it. (crew laughing) – I’m looking at this stuff and you’re looking at that. – Okay, so this is going to turn some kind of… This does feel like an egg thing. It’s basically… Can you see it? Look. It’s a big thing that’s got a little thing in the bottom (metal clanging) that I’m whipping. Oh, whipping whip cream. – Whipping… I have Egg Beaters. – Hey, I think we’re gonna make bread. – [Link] What? Do we… – I don’t want Egg Beaters. That’s already happened. Get eggs. – Vanilla extract? – Get eggs, cream. (hand thumping) Is there flour? We’re making bread. – Eggs. – [Rhett] Yup. – Cream. What about moisturizer? – No. Do you not see the big thing of cream? – No. Oh, cream. Okay, I’m just giving you eggs and cream. – [Rhett] Let’s just see. (product thumps) (cream and eggs thumping) – [Stevie] 10 seconds removed. – Dang it! Both of them are wrong! – [Link] Ah! – You don’t have to take ’em back. I got ’em. – No, oh, we have to take ’em back. – No. (crew laughing) – Okay, no eggs. (product clattering) All right, dude, what does it do? – It just, it could go up and down and it can turn. – So like what it does- – It’s definitely gonna… It’s gonna mix something. Is there stuff to mix over there? – Sugar. – Like this. (product clattering) – [Link] There’s all types of sugar. – Mixing sugar, I don’t know if that’s gonna do it, man. (kernels rattling) It’s a really weird wire, though. It’s like a, it’s a loose wire. – Corn kernels? Does it plug in? – Oh, you know what it might be? Can we use all those appliances? – Yeah. – Oh. – [Stevie] They have to stay over there. You can go to them. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – It’s a popcorn maker! Oil and popcorn! Bring oil and popcorn- – Yup, yup. – Over here to confirm. (kernels rattling) No, not popped popcorn. – Ah. – Unpopped popcorn. – What? – Unpopped popcorn! – I know! And look. – We’re popping the popcorn! (kernels rattling) – Oh, my gosh. (crew laughing) Oh, no. Oh, my gosh. I’m sorry. I’ve lost- – [Rhett] Hold on, hold on. – I’ve lost a lot of- – Any time removed? (Link laughs) – [Stevie] No time removed. – No time removed! – Yes! – Go make popcorn! – You- (objects clattering) – Go make popcorn! (kernels rattling) (crew laughing) (objects clattering) – Okay. – Hey, just a little bit of oil, not a lot, okay? – Nice. – [Rhett] Just like maybe just enough oil to cover a kernel. – [Stevie] For safety concerns, I will allow you to join Link if you would like. (crew laughing) – Oh, I have an obstacle course to get over. – What? I mean, you didn’t pre-open my oil. – [Rhett] Okay, you turn on. Is it on? – [Link] Oh, yeah, it’s on. – [Rhett] Okay. – Mm. – Not a lot. – Not a lot? Like? (lively jazz music continues) – More. Cover the bottom. – Don’t speak to me like that. – Stop. (crew laughing) – Two minutes remain. (kernels rattling) – All we gotta do is get a little bit to pop. – Close that. (lid thumps) Close that. It’s on max. – Yeah, now we just wait. I don’t know. – Maybe we should start cleaning up all those kernels. (Rhett chuckles) (crew chuckling) The lid was on. Oh, yeah, here we go. (popcorn pops) – Oh, there, we got one. – Ah, ah, oh. – Oh, we got five. Oh! – Oh, oh, yes, yes! It popped! (crew clapping) Did we do it? (bell dings) We got it just in time. – Look, here, eat one. – Whoo! (popcorn rattling) Oh, oh, yes, yes, yes! Look at that. That’s the taste of (popcorn popping) fluffy white victory. (crew laughing) Oh, oh, oh. (lively jazz music) We wanna take a quick beat to invite you to check out what we’re doing over on the “Rhett & Link” channel. Of course, that was our first channel from years back. – Rears back. – But- – We reared ourselves up on that channel. – This year, we’ve been doing some new stuff over there that we’re really excited about. So if you haven’t seen it, we want you to go check it out. – Yeah, we’ve been throwing ourselves, our whole creative selves, everything we got at every video over there, trying a lot of new things. – Mm-hmm. – Got an incredible team working on the videos over there with us. And we’re just very happy with the final product. But it’s like not… Because we’re putting so much into the videos, they don’t come out all the time. They’re coming out around every month or so. – Right. – So it’s the kinda thing you need to subscribe to the channel so you know that the videos are coming. There’s a lot of videos over there already that we’ve released so far this year that you can go check out. Hey, check it out. Enjoy it. They’re a little bit longer videos. Kinda sit back, relax, watch ’em, take ’em in. Share ’em with people that you think might also like videos like it. – “Rhett & Link” channel on YouTube. – Bring up a new tab right now, go over there, subscribe, come back and finish this video. How about that? – Oh. – We’ve never asked people to do that. – Okay. So we’re sticking with it ’cause you said you want me to look at this, then I’m gonna go shop. – Yeah, yeah. Well, that worked really well last time. – Okay. Oh, we have six minutes this time, Stevie? – [Stevie] No, we’re back down to four. – Oh. – Should only take you four. – You thought we’d get one additional minute per round? – I’m hoping, man. – This is a small item. It can’t take more than four minutes. – All right. Ready when you are. Oh. – Okay, it’s plugged in. (lively jazz music) – It’s, oh. – It’s rubber. – This is rubber and it’s got some sort of- – [Rhett] Oh, it spins. – [Link] Oh, it spins? – [Rhett] When you took that thing out, it spins. – It’s brown. – [Rhett] Put it back in there. – They tried to… They can’t hide the fact that there’s brownness in there. (crew member laughs) And then why would that- – [Rhett] It’s gonna mix something. – [Link] Okay. – [Rhett] Oh. – Yeah, I bet this is- – It’s gonna mix something. – I bet you it’s not… Well, I’m looking for something brown and powdery. I’ve got potato chips. – It’s not a potato chip crusher. I’m fairly confident about that. – Candle. – Hmm. – Yellow mustard. Ketchup. – [Rhett] No. – I just don’t feel like… Pure vanilla extract? – Okay, it’s pink and white, which makes me think it’s beauty-related. Little stereotypical. – Okay, yeah, yeah. – It’s not me. It’s the company that’s making these decisions. – Elmer’s glue? – [Rhett] No. Are there beauty products over there? – Yes, there’s three foundations. – Bring ’em. – [Link] And then there’s- – Or bring one. – No, let’s bring all three. (crew member laughs) (foundations clattering) – [Stevie] No time. – Oh, crap. – And just start mixing that. Start mixing that. And do you… I wonder if there’s anything else. Like, look at this. It’s a perfume bottle. – You know what? I can’t quite get the foundation that I want. – Grogu. Oh, look, you’re so cute. – So I’m gonna mix a couple. – Look at you, Grogu. You’re so cute. Magic 8 Ball. – I think maybe I stick my nose in it. – Fire maker. Again, moisturizer. You’ve gotta moisturize before you make your face a color. – Hold on. – [Link] A brush? Why would you be mixing? (crew member laughs) What is this? – Okay, I think it might be like this, Link. – [Link] Paint palette? Flashlight. (Rhett chuckles) (crew laughing) – (chuckles) It doesn’t feel right. Oh, it grabs you. (crew member laughs) Hey, see if you can get your chin in here. – Well, I gotta see if there’s anything else. – I can’t get any on me. It hurts a little bit, too. – Toenail clippers? Hot dogs? – What would we be mixing? Maybe I just put my finger in there. – [Link] I think it’s like mixing different colors into the perfect skin tone. – That’s what I’m doing right now. – I don’t see anything else that would work for this. Ear candle? – Did I succeed? Mixing foundation? – What about water? Maybe a little bit of water? – I don’t know. Why would… I mean, look. – I’m not taking any time off. – Oh. – What? – Not, yeah. – Okay, mix it. – Add water. – [Rhett] Too much. (product whirring) – And then what? Oh, ’cause then when you- – One minute. – Is it a cuticle massager? (crew laughing) – What is the point of makeup and water together? – What is the point of makeup? I mean, we’re all human. Let’s just be our- – Oh, is it- – Unabashed selves. – Hold on. Is it I put makeup on my face and then I clean it off with this? Oh. Here, put makeup on your chin. – [Stevie] You’re missing a thing. You’re missing- – Missing a thing? – I’m missing a thing. – Get another thing. What is it? – Ketchup! – No, no. (crew laughing) – [Crew Member] A tissue? – A tissue? – Towel. – A what? – Tissues. – [Rhett] No, I don’t know what tissue would do. 20 seconds. – Tissue. – You get five seconds off. (crew laughing) – (laughs) Whoa. – Okay, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going. – Hello? Hello? (Rhett chuckles) (crew laughing) – We don’t have any time, man. – [Stevie] 10 seconds. – Oh, clean. Look what I found. Makeup brushes. – [Stevie] You didn’t, no. – Put it. – Yeah, yeah, you… – Put it on me. – Uh, time. – No, you clean the makeup brush. After you finish (horn honks) using the makeup brush, you clean the makeup brush with it. So I use it, boop boop, and I clean it. – Right? – [Stevie] Okay, yes, yes. – Yes! – [Stevie] The thing is, is that there’s like a bunch of makeup brushes over there that say, “Dirty,” and those say, “Clean,” but it’s okay because yeah- – How did you miss the dirty jar? – [Stevie] You put- – No, there’s not. – Foundation on with the brush, and then you clean off the brush. – I have it. – [Stevie] Oh, Lucas grabbed them when you weren’t looking just now. – What? – But they were there. – No, they were never there. – [Stevie] Yes. (crew laughing) – Get out here, Lucas. (product whirring) – Y’all cheatin’ us? – But no, you’re right ’cause you got… The foundation goes on the brush. (crew laughing) You could’ve dirtied the clean brushes, too. – We did. – We did. – I’m giving it to you. You won. You got it. (Rhett clapping) You figured it out. – Yeah. – That’s right! We totally nailed that one! (chuckles) – And did you see the reception of that Kleenex box? – We should play football. (crew laughing) (lively jazz music) – Stevie, can you give us like some dramatic update on our amazing comeback? Something like, the boys have battled their way back from being 0 and 1. – Well, don’t script it. Just give an idea, you know. You don’t wanna do a line read. You’re not that kinda director. (chuckles) – [Stevie] It all comes down to this. In the final round, will they pull it off or did they screw themselves in the intro? – Oh, in the, whoa. – We won’t know for another four minutes. – Screwed ourselves in the intro. Hey, you wanna switch it up again? – Yeah, why not? – I mean, listen, last two rounds have been- – Feeling good. – Totally fine. – So if it ain’t broke, why? – I don’t know. – You wanna go. (palms thumping) You wanna do some shopping. – I wanna redeem myself, man. – Okay. All right. – This is my chance. – All right, all right. But we’re both gonna stay and we’re both gonna look. – Yeah, yeah. – That’s what we learned. – Here we go. – [Link] Okay, let’s do it. (lively jazz music) Oh, look at that. – Is it electric? – It’s some sort of a device. (product whirring) – Okay, we stick something in there. It looks like it catches- – Does it shock? – It catches string. Look. Just look at it. Just look at it. It’s grabbing string. I’m gonna go shopping for string, Link. – Go shopping for string, Rhett. All right, so there’s a window on the front that looks like… It has a triple arrow. And then on the back, there’s like these two nodes. – [Rhett] String! – [Stevie] Minus five seconds. – Dang it. (Link groans) – [Rhett] Oh. – [Link] There’s these two nodes on the back and a charger. – Okay. How about yarn? (product whirring) – See that right there, it vibrates on me. – What, what? – [Stevie] Yeah. – Okay. – No time. – No time. Okay, put yarn in there. – How do I put yarn in here? – I don’t know. Just see what happens with it. – Maybe keep goin’. – Scissors, I’ll get you some scissors. (product vibrating) – Well, I mean, I’m just gonna drop it. – No scissors. – I really think… Oh, there’s… Yes, there’s… – [Rhett] Did you get it? Is there something happening? – If I shove it in here first. – [Rhett] What’s gonna happen? (crew member laughs) – If I wet it, shove it- – Is it just a big loop? – Pull it. (product whirring) Come on now. How do you get? – Where’s it… Is there not an edge to it? These are just big loops. – It’s too (imitates whirring) in there. It looks like it’s gonna suck it together. (lively jazz music continues) Oh, no, it goes one way. Oh, oh, oh, the bottom. – Why are you wetting it? – Oh. Just so I can shove it through. Oh! – Whoa. (chuckles) (crew member laughs) – What the, what the, what the, what the, what the? Ah, I broke it. Oh, okay, here we go. (product whirring) Watch this, Rhett. No, no, no. – Why are you wetting it? – [Link] So I can shove it through Get close. – I don’t want your wet yarn on me. – [Link] Get up here. – Okay. (Link laughs) – (laughs) That’s it. That’s it. – Is that all it does? – Is that all it does? See, you gotta wet it first. (crew member laughs) – Is that all it does? – [Stevie] No. – [Rhett] Okay. What is it for? – Is there another item? – [Stevie] No. – Okay. (crew laughing) – Well, I know this goes through here, but maybe if I hold the end of it. Here, hold that end of it. – Oh, oh, oh, oh, I know what it does. It’s going to make a standing yarn loop that’s just happening in the air. (grunts) – How? – We’re gonna pull this off. – It won’t come off. I’ve already tried. That doesn’t come off. – [Rhett] Are you sure? I think it comes off. – Yes. (Stevie sighs) One minute. – It comes off. Guarantee you it comes off. – [Link] It doesn’t come off, I swear. – Push it like that. (lid clicks) Okay. – Yeah, but look. (crew laughing) But see- – Hold on, hold on, hold on. – This is so you can maintain it. – No, no, listen to me. Now this is gonna be a… I’ve seen people on the internet, man. They do a standing yarn loop. – [Stevie] Less than one minute remaining. – [Rhett] Now put the top back on. – Why don’t I just turn it on? – Put the top back on! Come on! – The more you yell- – Okay. – The less I care. (crew member laughs) (lively jazz music continues) (lid clicks) (Rhett groans) That’s upside down. I had it right. (lid clicking) – Okay, then… (lively jazz music continues) – Ha! That’s right. What? – Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah. (laughs) (crew clapping and cheering) Oh. Hey. (laughs) Hey, hey. – We’re gonna do that again. – We did it. Now, see, it gets caught up. (bell dings) It gets caught up. (product whirring) – And now for the dramatic summary, Stevie. – Dive through it. Dive through it, Link. – The boys. – Dive through it without touching it. Dive through it. (Rhett and crew laughing) – The boys what? (Rhett sighs) – [Stevie] It didn’t look good in round one. – No, it didn’t. – [Stevie] They went through a lot of trials and tribulations and time subtractions and other stuff. (Rhett sighs) – Sorry, I yelled at you. – [Stevie] But in the end, the boys won. The boys pulled in the win and the lasso, yup. And also, (Rhett chuckles) we’re getting the prize for you right now. – I got it. – [Stevie] Okay, we have it. So the Mythical Crew wanted to buy you these umbilical cord phones from Etsy, but they were $4,500 and we said no. And so we printed out a photo of them for each of you, but- – Umbilical cord phones? – [Stevie] Yeah, if you… Well, they’re like phone chargers. But if you- – They’re gross. – [Stevie] We also got you this video of how they would work if you actually had them. – Oh, yeah? (product clicks) – [Crew Member] Oh. – What? (crew laughing) – Oh, my gosh. – What? – What is it doing? – Oh. – It’s feeding the phone- – It looks like it’s trying- – Energy. – Looks like it’s trying to swallow the phone, like a snake. – Is that what a umbilical cord does? Like a… – Yeah, man. – I don’t think so, man. (crew laughing) I don’t think umbilical cord’s got a conscience. (crew member chuckles) – I’ve cut one of those before. – Yeah, now I feel like you killed something. – Thanks for subscribing and clicking that bell. – You know what time it is. – I’m Ryan. – And I’m Chelsea. – And we’re celebrating our honeymoon on the island of Curacao. – And now it’s time- – Now it’s time- – [Both] To spin the Wheel of Mythicality. – Congratulations. – Yeah. – Click the top link to watch us rank the crew’s trinket origin stories in “Good Mythical More.” (wheel clicking) – And to find out where the Wheel of Mythicality’s gonna land… ♪ We’re diggin’ a hole ♪ ♪ That’s what we’re doin’ ♪ ♪ But is a hole even a thing ♪ ♪ Well, the diggin’ of the hole ♪
