Do frozen meals taste better oven baked than microwaved? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. When it comes to frozen meals, you usually just pop 'em in the microwave and you got your food ready in five minutes. But some of them also have the option to put 'em in the oven. But cooking frozen meals in the oven takes a lot longer. And does the extra time mean better taste? Does anybody actually do it? And if they do, are they right? We're gonna try both methods side by side to see which one's really worth your time. Okay, boys, throw on those blindfolds for me please. Oh my goodness. Yeah. So what you're telling me already is that. You can tell the difference. Round one looks different. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Coming out the microwaved than the oven, I have to think that it's uglier coming out of the microwave. Oh, clearly, I would think. Right. Is there anything else you think? I think that it probably has some sort of a film on it. Mm-hmm. Is there anything else that you, that you usually think. Right now? Is there anything else that you would like to say? As you can see, we can't. Yeah. Thank you. First off. Oh my God. You've got two versions of Stauffer's single serve lasagna, one cooked in the microwave for seven minutes and the other in the oven for 40 minutes. Uh, taste both and I'm gonna make you guess which one was cooked in the oven. That is quite. I just touched the top of it. That's my hand. Now I'm using a fork. I was expecting there to be a, like a pan of kinds. Oh, so it's been plated. So nothing that I expected. Do I have some? I, I think I have too much. I don't, I don't even know what to do. I had some. Lemme know when you pulled away. We need a system. But you say like, I'm in. Okay. I can hear you. I'm in, I'm trying hard. But hold on. Let, let me, let me go in. I got a decent bite in two tries. Hmm. What are you doing, dude? I'm in too. I'm in. I'm in there. I'm in there. I'm in. I'm in. Come on. You're ruining it for me. Get it done, man. Oh God. All right. Every time I come over here. Let's go over here. I haven't gotten a bite yet. I'm in. What is happening? I'm gonna forget. I'm in. I want to be in. I'm out. I'm out, and I want to be in. Hold on. It's how, how much, how difficult is it gonna be when it's over here? Okay. All right. I'm, I'm out. I'm out. Well, I can tell you right now that this is. It is not easy to get into. I got sauce. I'm still in. You can get in at the same time. Get in on this. I'm trying to, but just don't get in. Don't go right where my fork is. I'm not, I'm going somewhere else. No, no. Your fork was on top of my fork when you said that. Hmm. I'm coming in. Alright. I've learned what I need to learn about you and about being in. Stauffer's, right? I'm in, yeah. Hmm. Okay. All right. Stauffer's, right? Hand over. Okay, you're gonna put your hand over the one you think was cooked in the oven. Okay. Three. Two. One. I'm in. I'm in. Yep. Okay. We agree and yep, see that right there? See that crusty stuff on the side? Oven baked. We're talking oven all day. It was hard to cut into. So this is gonna, this might blow your mind because it's blowing my mind right now. That's the one from the microwave. I know. Because you would think with the crispiness, it would be in the oven, but I guess in the oven it gets steamier. I've never seen this before. And we triple checked. That's the one from the microwave. This stuff here. Can this then? Well, now that, okay, now that you've told me what I will say, those noodles are rubbery-er, try a noodle, and then try a noodle. These noodles taste. Well, they're all on the table for some reason. Yeah. These noodles are better. The noodles are better. But if you like this crusty stuff, apparently you can just get that in the microwave and get it over with. The time. I definitely don't think it's worth it. It's a big time difference, right? Yeah. 33 minutes. Yeah. You could drive one third of the way to LAX no matter where you are. Right? It's gonna take, it's gonna take 99 minutes. Even if you're next door to it. Huh. So we're not, it's not worth it. It's not worth the wait. Not at all. Next up we've got Marie Callendar's pot pie. In the microwave, it takes five minutes, and then the oven, it takes 50 minutes. 50. Whoa. That's a 10x. What's in those waves, dude. That's scary. It shakes, it shakes. It shakes? No. What are you? Are you being for real? It shakes the molecules. I guess it does shake the molecules. Oh, oh, hot. It agitates. Hot. Is it real hot? I did get a good bite though, and I'm not gonna let you ruin it. I'm holding it off. He's hot. Oh. Mm-hmm hmm. The top is pretty, it's pretty flaky. Hmm. Okay. That's fine. Oh. It was hot. I'll tell you that. Oh. Hot to the core. Hot to the core. Come over here to my side. Hold on. Oh, well then I'll go to this side. Oh my God. What just happened? Dude. My chair gave out. What. Your chair gave out. You know how, you know how these are lean back chairs, but sometimes they're locked. It was locked and then it unlocked, and my knee just went up and hit the other side of the table. You scared me so bad, dude. What were you doing? I, I, I mean. Did you have a bite? I pictured that you had just died and just like, face planted on the table. Yeah. My head just dropped. I thought, I thought it was over for you. This is like, oh, there he is. Well, I'm sorry, I blame the chair. It was like a sack of tater scene. I blame the chair. Dropped. Is this my fork? I'm freaking, I'm off my game now. What's the chair from the chair company? What's the chair? What's the brand? Yeah, what is that? Uh, what's the brand from the chair company? No one knows. From the show. Teca. Teca. It's a Teca chair. It's a Teca chair. There we go. Okay. I'm gonna send him a letter. Oh my God. So hot. I've been, I'm so afraid. That was hot. That was hot. I mean, a pot pie gotta be hot. But telling you right now that was hot. Hmm. Huh? Huh? I, there's something on my fork 'cause I'm. Hmm. Huh. Oh. I got no crust. I got no crust either. I need crust. I need, I need some of the crust too. I'm getting hardly anything. I got an overall bigger burst of flavor from one of these, which I'm assuming is from the oven. Hmm. I just think that things will just, they'll come together better with more time. It just has to be true, right? Yeah, maybe. Hand over the oven pie. 3, 2, 1. Oh, we disagree. Oh, disagree. I think this one was more flavorful. The one cooked in the oven is on Link's side. Okay. You can, can definitely tell now that we can see it. I didn't notice a difference in flavor. I got back to this one and noticed it felt pretty crispy. Hmm. It'll burn you. Boy, it don't. Nothing'll burn you like a pot pie. Which is why I threw that on the floor. Is it worth it? Uh, 45 minute difference. Okay. No freaking way, dude. There's no way. It is better. What can you do in 45 minutes? You can get a small tattoo of a snail. Depending on the artist and depending on the snail. Um, but going five or 45 minutes for a little thing like this. You could walk around a farmer's market for long enough to buy one loaf of bread. I, I don't think. I don't know if it's worth it. It's not. You couldn't even tell dude. So the, the proof is in the pot pie. This is still good. Yeah. So we are saying, not worth the wait. Up next we have the Hungry Man Roasted Turkey Meal. In the microwave, it takes eight minutes and the oven it takes 45. So it's a lot of different ingredients. Yeah. And it looks so much better on the plates than it does in the little plastic thing. I'll say that. That's the trick. That's what you gotta do when you're, when you're taking it outta the microwave or the oven. I think I got some. It's not what it's in. It's what it goes on. Okay, that was just potatoes. Me too. Okay. Nothing but taters. Okay, this feels. Just, just tell me when you got it. You got it. You got it? Mm-hmm. Because I want to get it and I want. Hmm. Okay. What'd you get? Turkey and gravy. Oh. Now. You got some, huh? Yep. Now I'm gonna do the same thing over here. Oh, sorry for that sound. I know that's not a popular sound. All right, I'm out. You're in. Got nothing but tater. Sorry. Hmm, hmm hmm. Now I've had a substantial amount of turkey. Huh? Hmm. What's the difference in time? Eight minutes versus 45. I've made a mess of myself. I mean, I think that one of 'em tastes better and I'm voting for that one. Do you? Hmm? You here? I don't like either one of 'em a whole lot. But just go ahead and eat all of it though. What was that? There's cranberries somewhere if you wanna find that. I'm just having trouble. What is this? What's that? What are you doing? What are you finding? Are you finding other things? No. Then what are you doing? I don't really know. Okay. Okay. Hand over the oven dish. 3, 2, 1. Oh, okay. Split again. I just thought it was better. I mean. The meal cooked in the oven is on Rhett's side. Yeah. Who knows? I mean, I just thought the turkey was a little bit better. I had a lot of it. Does anybody put a Hungry Man in the oven? 'cause you shouldn't, is what we're saying. Um, I thought that the turkey was the only part that was better. Of course it's all gone now. I guess, no, it's in the trash over there. A lot of it. Um, oh, there's corn. But other than that, yeah, I, I just don't think, I mean, 37 minutes difference. What can you do with that 37 minutes? Well. You could have seven minutes in heaven and then 30 minutes to stress out about whether or not you did a good job. Right? Which, which you do need to factor in. It's part of it. I mean, it's clearly something that you should, that you shouldn't wait on. I don't think it's worth it. Again, I think the thing about these is that they are made for the microwave to be able to be microwaved without too much compromise. Right? So we're gonna say, not worth the wait. We're having a lot of fun over on the Mythical Society. Rhett and I are uploading vlogs of us. Yeah. Just whenever we're doing stuff that we think that you would enjoy being a part of, like for examper. For examper. Tell 'em, for example. We went to the old zoo. There's an old zoo. Let's call it the abandoned LA zoo. And we went in there and we had a ball. There's cages, there's coyote, there's. Yep. There's lots of poop, poop warning. Uh, and poop humor. Warning. Poop humor warning, but you already knew that. Graffiti warning. So go check that out. I mean, we had a lot of fun. Dating advice. We're bringing you along for the ride. Yes. MythicalSociety.com. Any level, first degree, come on get you some. Okay, we're moving on to PF Chang's Chicken egg rolls. They're one and a half minute in the microwave, or 14 minutes in the oven. Okay, let me just say before we start tasting these, I would say A, that's not that long of a wait, and B, you think that people would say, I might even say before this, that the crispiness that you're gonna get from the oven is gonna be worth the wait when it comes to an egg roll. That's what I would think. There's also a dip on both the plates. Hmm. PF Meh. Yeah, that wasn't great. That wasn't great at all, was it? And here we are over here. It feels bigger. Why does it even just feel bigger? Oops. Got my finger in there instead. Hmm. They're different sizes. I found a biggie over here too. Okay, because I had a little over there, now you found a big over there. Because it's not like the oven or the microwave made 'em bigger or smaller. I doubt it. Neither one of these are good. No. At all. So it's not whether it's worth the wait. It's just not worth it. I actually think there's one that tastes better. Okay, hand. But the, but the consistency, nothing's really singing. No. Over the oven dish. 3, 2, 1. We still disagree? Hmm. Alright. Uh, oven. I thought those were better, but I think these are from the oven. I thought these were a little better. Rhett's side. Yeah. So they're crispy over here, so that's, you can't get that in a microwave. And these have that like moist bottom. I know how you like a moist bottom. And, uh. But they're crunchier than I realize. But they taste better from the microwave. What is this sauce? I don't know. It's, it's. It's just all a disappointment. The sooner we can move on from this round, the sooner we can forget it. Sorry. PF Chang's, not worth the the wait. And finally, we have dessert. These are Favorite Day molten lava cakes. In the microwave, they take 50 seconds and in the oven they take 15 minutes. Is there's something, let's see. I'm gonna use a spoon. Now I feel like maybe what I just did was cool to watch, but we can't see it. Oh, was that, was that cool to watch? Did anybody see that? Oh, oh my God. It was, oh no. It was really cool to watch and everything's fine now as well. Dude. You are, you are Mr. Shenanigans. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be. I'm not trying to be, I'm not trying to be anything. Mr. Shenanigans. Yeah. You never know if Mr. Shenanigans is gonna show up. Okay. I, I got something. Did you enjoy that? Because I did. It is kind of like a brownie with a little bit of pudding in the middle. I'd prefer just the pudding. Oh, lemme see if I can do a. Get outta here. I was just coming in. I'm trying to do a cool thing over here. Oh, watch this. This is gonna explode. Oh. Ooh. Something tells me it didn't happen. Lava everywhere. Mr. Lava Lava. You still in? I'm out. In my, I I just don't like getting too much and in an effort to not get too much, I never get any. Are you taking it off of my spoon? Is that your shenanigan? Hmm. Hmm. Whoa. Huh? Hmm. Hmm. Okay. Well, I'm ready to vote. Hey, get outta here. Get outta here, Mr. Shenanigan. You're not wanted, you're not wanted here, Shenanigan. Get back to your side. Hold on, I'm not, I'm not being funny. Hey, what are you doing dude? What is he doing? Just gimme a chance. What? What is that. How, you know. Whatcha doing? Damnit, how hard can it be? Okay. Hand over the one from the oven in 3, 2, 1. Okay. You agree. It was better. Both correct. I peek, I peeked, but I, but it's just because I knew that was. You peeked. I peeked 'cause I, I liked it so much and then I had to get some, so I was like, just so I wanted to get a bite, I was. You were peeking the whole time. No, I never peek. But I knew, I mean, I was choosing that one regardless, man. This one's moister. It's so good. It works completely, and there's still lava. This one didn't even have lava. Well, to be fair, Rhett's first bite on that one, I believe he took all of the lava and three-fourths of the cake into his spoon and then put it all over. It was confusing. Come on, dude. I'm just bad, listen, that wasn't me. That was Mr. Shenanigans. Okay, that wasn't me. Well, Mr. Shenanigans has won a special time-based prize in Good Mythical More. But we were right. This is the other. You are right, yes. Oh, right. Man. It's the, the only one. This is the only one that is worth the wait. By a long shot, because that was actually a lava cake. This, I don't know, I guess I ate all the lava, but if I can remember it wa I just, it wasn't good. So what did we learn that if it's not cake, microwave it. Yep. Thanks for commenting and sharing this video. Duh. You know what time it is. Hi, I'm Jared. Hi, I'm Jessica.
