the entire Taco Bell menu?
Let's talk about that.
Good Mythical Morning.
For years, on this Gut Check format, we've
been trying every flavor of everything
you could buy in your local grocery store.
But now, Taco Bell has inspired us to
"live más" and try even more of everything,
like everything on the Taco Bell menu.
Yes, it's time for Gut
Check: Taco Bell Edition.
Today, you'll be tasting 37 different
items on the Taco Bell menu.
Wow.
We got you everything as it
comes off the menu, except, we
removed tomatoes for you, Link.

Oh, of course.
Thank you so much.
And as a palate cleanser, you have water
straight from the Taco Bell soda fountain.
Yummy.
Does it have a little bit
of, uh, pink lemonade in it?
When you like, you press it a little
bit and you get a little bit in there.
Oh, you better pay for that.
You're gonna have to pay for that in hell.
Uh, also, I've been told that we are not
having any breakfast items, we're not having
any sauces, and we're not having any drinks.
Because they got lots of drinks there.
Okay, this is everything else.
Okay.
Gut Check, engage the gut.
And also not like any limited edition things.
This is straight off the regular menu.
Okay.
And we're beginning with tacos,
starting with the soft taco.
Just the.
Now I'm a Taco Bell fan.
Just the soft.
I don't know if I'm gonna be at the
end of this, but coming into this, even
in a town where you really have great
tacos, Taco Bell is something different.
A category, all its own, and
sometimes you gotta have it.
I am excited because I have this,
like, a, a boring go-to, and I'll
tell you when my things come out.
I, I need to expand my Taco Bell
palate a little bit, but I'm giving
this classic ground beef softy
an 88.
Whoa.
Out the gate.
88. Yeah, it's good.
Uh, I like it.
Not that much.
I'll give it a 79.
Okay.
Spicy potato soft taco.
What?
Never had it.
Okay.
There's just, spicy french fries in there.
Lot of starch.

Cantina chicken soft taco.
Cantina chicken.
So the cantinas got.
Hmm.

No cabbage, pulled chicken.
I mean, it's a little
too fancy for Taco Bell.
It's good though.

It's not as crunchy as it was
when they got it right from the store.

maybe shouldn't be there.

Crunch, nacho cheese.

Oh, I didn't even know about this.
I mean, of course it's a thing.
It's all about combinations
and recombination.

And there's a different
kind of sauce in the layer.
This is a gordita.

Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch, nacho cheese.

With not, nacho cheese?

pulling me back a little bit.

Well, I mean, I don't wanna sway you.
It might have nacho cheese,
but I didn't think it did.

Chalupa Supreme.
What's a chalupa?
Because Link thinks that, he said
it before we started, he said
everything's the same at Taco Bell.
Chalupa is different than a gordita.
Chalupa is a traditional Mexican
antojito, which is a snack consisting
of a fried, boat shaped, or flat
thick masa, which is corn dough.
It's different.
Uh, shell traditionally topped with salsa,
cheese and shredded lettuce, or chicken.
It's a, it's a corn, it's a fried
cornbread versus a flatbread.
It's got that bland corn thing that I
like, makes it, you feel more authentic.
62. 76. Black Bean Chalupa Supreme.
That sounds like, like a poem.
I didn't know they had
black beans at Taco Bell.
But of course they do.
They're good, but I don't think
Taco Bell should have black beans.
They don't need to keep adding
ingredients, they just need to keep.
Who you gonna call.
Recombining existing ingredients.

65. All right, we're moving
on from tacos to burritos.
Oh yeah.
Starting with the bean burrito.
Oh yeah.
This is a class-ic.
Oh man.
This is my go-to.
Mostly because it feels a little
bit healthy and it's still good.
Is it though?
It's probably the healthiest thing on
the menu besides a salad or something.
Beans are great for you.
Oh, you like beans, huh?
Mm-hmm.
Um, it does taste good, but I'm, I'm looking
for something to sink my teeth into that's
just not gonna spurt out and be brown.
48. That hurts badly that you gave that a 48.
I'm sorry, son.
It's almost gonna be difficult
to remain your friend.
You want me to give it a. But I've overcome
a lot already, so, um, let's see, um.
I'm trying to think about my
predisposition about beans.
I don't want it to color things too
hard because, there's things I've had
that are definitely better than that.
I get this because it feels like
a, a, a better choice sometimes.
So I'm just gonna land at 75.
Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito.
Oh yeah.
Hmm.
Boy, that rice does so much for, it.
Kind of moves it up.
I might be in 55 now.
Oh god.
That is really good.
Mm. It's so balanced.

I'm leaving room for the meat.

This takes me back, man.
Now we got some stuff in there.
Sour cream.
Lettuce though.
Wet, soggy.
That's part of the Taco Bell taste though.
Lettuce buried in that goop.

It adds to the, uh, the essence.

Oh, bee, whoa, look at those layers.
That's beautiful.

Beefy.
I don't know exactly what those
five layers are, but it's good.
I like layers.
I, I'll bump this up to 70.

Cheesy Double Beef Burrito.
Double Beef.

Hmm.
Feels like a lot of rice to me actually.
Is there like another tortilla in
that, like a corn thing happening?
Hmm.
It almost tastes like a double layer.
I liked it though.

We're back at the Cantina.
Oh, you stinker.
This is Taco Bell trying to get in on the
Chipotle thing, but way too late, 'cause
nobody cares about Chipotle anymore.
You think the cabbage holds
up better than the lettuce?
Mm-hmm.
In the, I, you know, it does, it
has more of a, a texture to it.
Mm-hmm.
Chicken's nice.
I like it, but it feels like
too much of a departure for me.

What?
This is such a thing?
Well, look, it's like on the
outside, it's got cheese.
See now, that's the type of
cheese I'm talking about.
Hmm.
Leave that nacho cheese for your mama.
You give me that layer of grilled thickness.

That's a good, that's a good burrito.
The grilled cheese burrito?
We are pretty sure you've
had it on the show before.

but I think that one was maybe overdone.
Remember that, we saw it

It's still good.
Same thing, a little bit of beans.
But we're missing beef outta that.

Starting with the Crunch Wrap Supreme.
Oh, gimme a second.
I mean, this thing.
This is special.
Is just, it's unlike, it's geometrical.
It's got that lettuce in it
that you don't like though.
It's not as crunchy as it was.
I like that thin.
A moment ago.
But I'm imagining, I know what that's like.
You'll get a bite that has a lot of
tortilla in it because of the folds.

Black Bean Crunch Wrap Supreme.
These black beans are confusing me.
I just didn't know about it.
I mean, I've seen the menu a lot.
I've never noticed it.
Mm-mm.
It's just not doing it.

Oh no, your wife.
Shout out to Christy, my love.
She lives, she, some, she lives for this.
She, she, she, she posts on
social media about this thing.
Um, it's good man.
I don't even really know what's in it.
I dunno what I just tasted.
But I'm gonna give it an 84.
A lot of bean happening,
a lot of cheese happening.
There's no meat that I could find anywhere.
Um, I think it's good.
I love Christy, but I don't
want to get in her way.
I like to stay away, let her have that.
It's got.
It could be her thing.
It's got beef in it, I'm
looking at it right here.
Okay, there's beef in it.
Yeah, there's beef, um.
I'm just trying, I'm worried
about your marriage, if you
don't, if you don't do this right.

I'm allergic to salad.
I'm going to skip, I'm gonna skip this round.
So that big old crunchy thing,
that's not as crunchy as it
used to be, that held the salad.
Hmm.
That's fun.
Sometimes.
My mama used to get a taco salad.
And then she would break it off and
give you that and that's what you'd eat.
Just the little crumbling.
Well, she usually gave me
my, my own meal as well.
You little crumb snatcher.

I dislike a little bit more than I like.

Oh, keep it simple.
Look at that.
This for the kids.
I mean, this is like a cheese quesadilla
with the lowest level of effort.
But it's just tortilla and cheese,
which are two great things.
It could be better, but.
29. Uh, I definitely don't dislike it.
62. Beefy Potato Loaded Griller.
Loaded griller.
Who's getting potatoes?
They're seasoned well, so it
does add a little dimension, but.
Woo, the starch.
Make a shirt stiff.
I like the taste of it, but I'm
not a huge fan of the potatoes.
Well, another bite of that would be hard.
49. 56. Three Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt.
Oh gosh.
Boy, I'm, I'm hurting a little bit.
I think I'm getting close to what
I typically, total volume that
I would eat at a Taco Bell run.
This one has the chunks of chicken,
not that cantina pulled fancy stuff.
This is my jam.
Big old chunky chicken.

67. Chicken Quesadilla.
Oh, this is the classic.
And this is my go-to.
I always get this.
Got the chunky chicken, it's
got a little bit of the sauce.
It is flat.
It comes in that plastic, wind,
it has a plastic window on it.
So you know what you got.
When you reach in there, your hand
gets all steamy, you pull it out.
Mm-hmm.
I'm the, the chunky chicken is nostalgic.
Yeah.
But I don't think it's as
good as the shredded chicken.
It tastes like its own thing.
It doesn't taste like chicken,
it tastes like Taco Bell chunks.
75. I love that.
75. 89. Steak Quesadilla.
Oh, steak.
You can get steak in there.
Mm-hmm.
I wanna get some of that steak.
Hmm.
Their steak is good.
Mm-hmm.
Hmm.
I think it's better than chicken.

Whoa, what?

One less than the chicken.
Cheese quesadilla.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, a bit boring.
Don't need to eat much of that.
That's fine, but, once you shove
chicken or steak in there, you
don't need to go back to this.
Sometimes this really hits the spot.

Okay, see, this is the one that I'm against.
See, I don't know, I didn't
know this was happening there.
Hmm.
Don't forget about nostalgia.
It does taste really good.
That's what I'm here for.

85. This is an improvement upon the original.
87. Nachos Bell Grande.
I always was suspect about people
who got nachos at Taco Bell.
Why.
I don't understand.
I really, it makes no sense at all.
Well try it out.
Mm-hmm.
Nachos are a beautiful thing.
They're shareable, they're piled high.
You can customize the bite, but it's just
not what I want from Taco Bell either.
I want something, I want it wrapped.
I just want to, I want to unwrap it.
I want to shove it in my mouth
without having to look at it.
I want to drive down the road, one
hand shoving this stuff in my mouth.

In a spoon.
It's all in there.
That's a big spoonful too.
Yeah, that's why I didn't do the whole thing.
I for sure thought you wouldn't do it.

If I'm taking a run to the bell,
I'm not there for the bowl.
Speaking of take a run, where are
we gonna be running after this?
Uh, we got some Pepto set

Taco Bell doesn't really
have that impact on me.

I cling to it as a lifeline.

I couldn't eat the whole thing.

What I will say is that.
It's a classic though.
I get the, the soft taco, again,
I get it because I feel like,
well I get the chicken soft taco.
'Cause I feel like it's the healthy choice.
There's nothing wrong with this.
It's been on the menu forever.
It's great.
It's a bit boring now
that we got this to go to.
Look at.
Somebody, somebody didn't run the knife
through this one as hard as they needed to.
But it's stuffed so
thick like this thing's got some, that
thing's got some thick chicken in it.
Really, I'm trying to figure out between the.
Mm. Cantina Chicken and the Steak Quesadilla.
Mm-hmm.
This may be changing my mind,
that this cantina chicken is
like perfect for the quesadilla.
The steak is good too, though.
I gotta stop eating.
There's too much Taco Bell.
It's all of it.
We went all the way, dude.
Okay, I think the Chicken Cantina is better.

'cause of the cheese.
But this thing right here, this.
This was really a wild card
for us, out of nowhere.
So it's got gr, it's grilled, it's,
it's like a ques, cheese quesadilla, but
then it's rolled up with meat sauces.
There is another crunch, crunchy
shell in there, isn't there?
And rice.
No, I think that's just cheese.
I mean,
I can't believe.
What is that red, what is this red stuff?
No beans made it to the finals.
No, this look, this is, this is a, um.
Pepper.
What is this stuff?
Those are fiesta strips, I think.
Fiesta strips?
Yes.
Oh, little pieces of tortilla.
That's not necessary.
But you didn't even know they were there.
But the, it just gives it a
little, little a bit of a corn
taste, which to me is a demerit.
What, corn taste is a demerit
at a Mexican restaurant?
On a flour tortilla.
Mm, I like it, but.
I really like the consistency of it though.
Now that I've tasted everything.
It's heavy.
I know this isn't part of the rules.
I feel like the, none of the things that I
would say are my, even though I gave this
the highest score, I think of anything.
In retrospect, I really think that
that cheesy gordita with the, with the,
the, when the two tacos inside of each
other, I think that's the best thing.
But it didn't make it up here.
Well, that's on you.
Um, so I'm kind.
Let's get rid of the soft taco.
I, I agree with that.
Let's put the steak taco
in, in place number three.
Then it's really just a question of,
are we throwing everything but the
kitchen sink at number one, or are we
going with elegant stuffed flatness?
I feel like this might be too much
of a gimmick to put at the top.
Once, once I discovered those
strips, had to do that, grab it.
Okay.
It is time to crown the Loved Más meal.
The best thing, the best thing that you
can get at Taco Bell, according to these
boys is the Cantina Chicken Quesadilla.
