Can a PB&J ever have too much PB? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. When it comes down to it, food is all about ratios. One part, some of this, to two parts, your that. For example. Yes, but not every food ratio is set in stone and we believe that some golden food ratios might be yet to be discovered. It's time for Achieving Nom-vana, Finding The Perfect Food Ratios. Oh, first up, one of my favorites. We got a corn dog. Yes. We got the classic form, which Nicole, it says that you put about a, an ounce and a half of batter on the regular dog. That is correct, Rhett. Look at these two extremes that we will try momentarily. Good God, so is this a multi dip situation? It's one dip, it's. One dip. It's one hefty girl dip. Okay. All right. 4.2 ounces. And then how did you get this so thin? Well, you know, I'm a little bit of an artist, so I did paint it on with a watercolor brush. Oh, this is painted on batter? Yes. Well, let's not get to that yet. Let's just enjoy. The corn dog. Yes, it's a hot dog with. Corn. Battered corn mill all over it, and it's great to have on a stick. That your corn dog speech? Yeah. Needs a little work. It was my, my, my corn dog speech states the obvious. Now, you know I'm partial to the Disney Corn dog. Corn dog castle. And that they go thicker than this. They do. I think this is regular, so Disney's definitely on this side. Okay. Do you wanna go low batter or high batter to start? Because I feel like I've had that before. Yeah, I want to go here. Heavy on the wiener. I've never eaten a corn dog and thought, I want less batter. I'm predicting that I'm gonna be over here and I know because you like the Disney dog. The crazy thing about this is the taste of the hot dog, of the wiener part. It really comes through. Mm-hmm. So if you're really into wieners. Yeah. Get the batter out of the way. It's in such a delicate blanket. If, even if you didn't tell me. Hand painted. That you hand painted it, I can feel that level of detail. That is surprising me. It's lower calorie. Yeah, that's a factor. This is not lower calorie. I mean, look at that. I can't believe this isn't a double dip. It's a, what did you call it, hefty girl dip. I think so. That's what you said. Big girl dip, heavy girl dip. Heft, you said hefty girl dip. Hefty girl dip. You did say that. Am I even gonna get dog in the first bite? Mm-hmm. Hmm hmm. Well, it's a lot. I can't taste dog. It's actually not far from the Disney ratio. It's a little beyond it, right? But do they have a stronger wiener in those dogs? Maybe it's bigger. Where would you put the Disney, if the, if, if this represents the heaviest batter, I think the Disney's probably like right there. It might even be right here. But that's not what we're tasting. We're not, we're tasting regular corn dogs. This easy on the breading could still go inside of something. Your mouth. This is what, okay, let me just tell you where I was before we started. Right there. There. And then I tasted. Neither one of us were here. And then we tasted that and we were like, oh man, maybe we're here. I'm de, I'm definitely, I I think a lot of it has to do with the stuff that they put into the batter at, at Disney. Yeah. This is regular batter. They do like a, a pretty heavily seasoned batter. So if we're doing regular, regular. I think basically it's, I just think it's regular. I think regular, regular. It's where I'm landing now. Feel free to adjust it if you agree and we'll find the mean. You wanna go slightly down? This is giving me pause. We, this is too far. This is definitively too much. Right. Couldn't taste the wiener. We agree on that. It's actually brought me back to a complete agreement. We have rederived. Wow. That, if it ain't broke, don't batter it. It's, it's perfect in this ratio. Nicole, do, I mean, do you agree or how do you feel? I feel great, you know. Did you predict this? I just, I just love watching you guys eat from back here. Thank you. Yeah, I'm a big fan. Well, that works out. Okay. Classic PB&J is before us. We are changing the level of P. Yeah. In the B&J. But not the J. So this is what you would expect, a 50/50 ratio right here. Oh, when I pull it apart. See, the jelly wants to be on both sides, but you know what's up. I assume that you have thought about this and have a system that you employ, and what is, what is your typical, how do, what ratio do you think you typically do? Well, thank you for assuming that. Yeah. First of all, because I know this is one of the meals that you can make. Yeah. I, I'm re I'm really good at making this. I err on the, a little bit, a more peanut butter side. I don't think there's any way that we're gonna come down here. There's no way that we're gonna like that. It's, I mean, I've had just a jelly sandwich before. I mean, that, that is just a whiff of peanut butter. Look at it. Is it even on there? But peanut butter is very detectable. Not very detectable in that one though. But in general, yes. And look, it's just spilling out of here. Oh my gosh. So this has, uh. It's so heavy. Four times the amount of peanut butter on it. Yes. So super extreme. 'cause the jelly's so sweet. Oh. I like that. Mm-hmm. I mean. Mm-hmm. I've had a peanut butter jel- peanut butter sandwich before, and I haven't complained. The peanut butter boys are a-really feeling like this. I mean, that is almost. Just weird territory. So weird. That feels perfect to me. Perfect. Like I, I, I almost wanna say that it's not too much. That it's, it's crazy. There's no way. Is there any way you could put more peanut butter in this sandwich? I don't advise it, no. Yeah, it would be. I mean, it is crazy. I understand that. How many, how many spoonfuls of peanut butter are in this. Like maybe like 10. Big ones. 10, you're eating 10 scoops. Well, I'm not done yet. Even if she's off by five and it's five big scoops. Well, it's four ounces. We know that. That's a lot. So it's, so, this one is 0.25 ounces. So a quarter of the amount that's on this one. And then this one is four times the amount that's on this one. So we're kind of multiplying times four each time. Well, I, I, I've spoken. So you've gone all the way. All the way. It's just so, I mean. I realize it's probably too much, but I'm just telling you how I feel. I mean, I just, it's just that much too much though. Look at it spilling out. I mean. The sandwich cannot contain. You cannot proceed without a glass of milk. Yeah. I'm over here drinking. I could not, I could not eat all of that without a glass of milk. I'm drinking water wishing it was from a cow. Mm-hmm. So do not attempt this without milk on the ready. And don't do this alone, 'cause you could choke yourself. Yes. Yeah. So this is dangerous in so many ways. But screw it. Yeah. All the way baby. That is the golden ratio. As much peanut butter as the sandwich will hold. Okay. The unofficial, official drink of the South. Sweet Tea. And regular on the sugar. Is already a lot of sugar. Southern, Southern is already boop, boop boop. And that was what was requested. I was talking with Mikayla a second ago. Okay. Also from the South. And she said, this is more southern style for us. So, yeah, so, a little more sugary is now our regular. Yes. Let, well, let's, let's decide. Yeah. That taste like home. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. I, I will say a little bone to pick with you. Last time we went to a barbecue restaurant in North Carolina, I reflexively ordered the sweet tea and I looked over and my buddy didn't. I am not a tea man. I'm not a sweet tea. I don't, I don't dislike it, but I grew up hating tea. The only time I will drink sweet tea, period, ever, in any circumstance is at a Bojangles once every 10 times. But it's so good there. Just to get it and I, it. It's so good. It's probably here. Let's go backwards and see. I think this is pretty, I think this is pretty Bojangles. Spot on. Bojangles, Bojangles is probably about right here. Mm-hmm. Hold on. I, I might be tasting leaves in that one. Huh? I don't wanna be tasting leaves in my tea. What, what do we, what do you think tea is? Leaf water? Yeah. We're not into leaf water. No. We're into sugar water. We, we're to sugar wa, brown sugar water. Um, this is. Okay. It's not bad. I don't, I don't dislike this. But it doesn't have as much sugar as I want if I'm gonna do it. Now, my mother-in-law has a recipe for sweet tea. I can't taste any sugar. And she will put some sugar and some Splenda in there. And I don't know how it works, but it works and it's really, really good. But now, so we we're, we're right here right now. So is this gonna change our minds? You pushed it. How, how much more sugar in this one than the, than the, uh, regular. So that has five. So the heavy one has 5.5 ounces of sugar while the regular one has, let's see what I wrote, 1.25 ounces. So, like almost four times as much. Yeah. Also, it's my first time making sweet tea. Ever. Ever. Well, you did it great. Thank you. You did it great here. Uh, you put a little bit too much sugar in this one. Oh. Is what I'm discovering. I mean. But I do like it. I'm, I'm surprised that I can't see sugar just accumulating in the bottom because, it's so sweet. This would be a crowd pleaser. I'm telling you though. A crowd pleaser. Yeah. I mean, it's all dissolved. In the South? Where everyone is just on a speed run towards diabetes? Yeah, this is ca, this is candy. Yeah. We love it, man. We love it. See, now if I go back to this one, is it gonna taste like leaf water? It has too much sugar in it. I will agree with that. Undoubtedly. Wow, now that one. Now that one feels like it needs more sugar. I cannot drink that. If I. But I'm gonna drink this so. If I am taking into account what I want it to taste like, not what is good for you. Okay. Which is how a lot of people make their decisions. Um, I think it's just on the north side of regular is where I would call it, which is a great country album. North side of regular. North side of regular. So you want to. No, that would actually be the South side of regular, would be the country album. Yep. But not for us. I, I feel. Yeah, I feel good there. Just starting to get into really, really bad for you. But not all the way. Not too much, but let's, let's get on. Okay. I'm not gonna argue with you. Right there. Oh, I tricked, I tricked you. I tricked you. Caesar salad. I mean, what are we doing here, people? What are we doing over here with no dressing on this thing? I mean, I mean, how could it not be more is better in this situation. I mean, salad is salad. So you're, you're predicting that you want, I mean, it's drowning in it. I don't make that choice because that is just, it's basically just drinking salad dressing and that's bad for me. But again, if it's. But this is what you. What tastes better. You're predicting that this is where you're gonna be. I can look at that and it look, makes me want to eat it. This looks like I'm looking at just a bunch of leaves. Yeah. When I look at this, it makes me want to eat it fast, but only a few bites because. Fast. It's gonna get soggy. Okay. I'm scared of the soggy. So I feel like I'm probably gonna be right there. Nicole, I can't, I can't see that there's any on here. Well, there is. It's there. It's a very, very lightly dressed salad. It's about half as much as normal. I can taste it, but I can't feel it. I'm not interested in this. It's dry. I'm really, I'm tasting garden. Let's have the norm here. Caesar salad, it's a good salad. In terms of taste. I don't think you're actually getting much nutrition out of it. Nope. Well, the fish, there's a little bit of fish in there, right? There's anchovy in the dressing, yeah. Yeah, that, that's nutrition. I wouldn't call it like a fish dish. Hmm. It's a salad. That's nice. I didn't say it was a fish dish. That's nice. Who said it was a fish dish? That's nice. Caesar would be proud. All of them. You know the story of Caesar salad? We've talked about it on this very show. Every time he Caesar, he what? It was invented by a chef in Mexico, right? Yes. Mm-hmm. This is just drowning. Yeah. Drowning in Caesar salad dressing. Yeah. And it tastes like what you want Caesar salad to taste like. The dressing. It's so tangy. Dude, and it's not, it's actually not that soggy. I don't think it's gonna get, it's not cereal. It's gonna get soggy by the, by the second. Mm. 10 minutes, this will be inedible. Disagree. Hard disagree. Nicole, take a side. It's not cereal. I'm on your side, Link. Yeah, it's going to flop. Yeah, it's gonna soak through the lettuce and the croutons. I mean, a soaked crouton sounds delicious, but soaked lettuce, uhuh. That's another thing. I'm gonna get that soaked crouton. The dressing is really good, but. Hey, you're, you're on your own over here in heavy on the. Mm-hmm. I'm right here in the middle. You're telling me you prefer the taste of that to that. Just, here's what I would do. I'd say give it to me normal, and then give me a little bit on the side. Okay, so you're right here? Mm-hmm. Or should I just get it all on the side? I don't want that because I don't want to toss my own salad. Right. And most people can't even do it if they try. Because you need to get like special utensils. Can I get the tossing utensils at the table? The sogginess is not what's gonna get me in that. It's the literal amount of fat that I'm getting out of the dressing is eventually going to slow me down. So, if I was here having eaten five or six bites of that, I'm right here now. And you're drinking all that sweet tea too. Is that evening it out or making it worse? And you said you were right here? Yep. So now we're right there. Okay, there we go. Order extra on the side and just dip it, dip it, dip it, when you're ready to eat it, eat it, eat it. So it doesn't get drowned, drowned, drowned. Hey, the Mythical Society is all new, a new design and kind of a new approach to what we're putting over there, including a lot of vlogs from us. Uh, we actually tried our wives pregnancy cravings recently. You know, we asked them what they enjoyed while they were pregnant because we had forgotten, and then we, we, we tried 'em. They supervised, um, that taste test in our own homes. Yeah, so go over to MythicalSociety.com if you wanna see that. And remember, we've got all kinds of other stuff, including exclusive collectibles over there and other surprises. MythicalSociety.com. Chocolate chip muffins. Heavy and light on the chips. Now, do you take the same, uh, what I'm gonna call, definitively strange approach to this that you do to a, uh, cookie, which is like, you don't like chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chips? I, I, I think so, yes. And it is, it. I don't, I actually don't know for sure. Is it an anti chocolate bias? What is it? Where does this come from? It's, it's just that I love the cookie, the chocolate chip cookie part better than the chocolate chips to the point where. Well, you don't have to make a choice when you can have both. No, you if if there's too, it's the ratio. It's exactly what we're talking about. When you really like the one thing and there's too much of the other thing, in this case, chocolate. But the other thing is chocolate. It, it steals the show, from the thing, from the, from the cookie. But it's chocolate. If chocolate shows up and says, make me the center of attention, I think I say, okay. You're not bread. Yeah, that's, uh, that's, that's how you feel about it. I mean, I'm gonna eat this bite and it's gonna be just dry muffin with no chocolate in it. Well, that's not gonna be good. Well, this is not a cookie, so don't, don't come at me. This is not anything that I, look at that, I didn't, there's no chips right there. I mean. There might be a good bite here with one chip in it. I, I, I think I, I see the remnant of a chip and I see maybe a chip right there. Big bite of the muffin. I think you see a pattern developing here. I'm almost always going to be a strong proponent of more. I got one chip. If the, if the thing is good, then more is better. That's, that's my. Like if it's, if it's good, then more is better until it just backfires on you. But take it as far as you can. That's what I say, go as hard as you can. Um, not if you like both parts of the ratio. If both parts of the ratio are good now, and you know what? I actually agree with you when it comes to chocolate chip cookies. I completely agree with you. What are you talking about? You like more? What, what you just said. I completely agree with you. Except in an opposite direction. When something's good, why not go all the way? Exactly. The thing that's good is the cookie. Because it's dough. Because it's dough. Now, I don't want to, I'm not saying I just want to eat a spoonful of chocolate chips. Although I do regularly do that. I'm just saying, I think that there is a physical upper limit to how many chocolate chips of muffin or a cookie can hold, and you should try to get to that point. It's like, do you want to go to the gold mine that's been completely stripped out, or do you want to go to the gold mine where everywhere you look, you get a piece of gold? Um, I'm just really into the dirt. Yes. In this analogy, you like the dirt and the rock more than you like the gold. That's all. That's, yeah. It's beautiful. Yeah. It really is. Um, I, I, I think the underlying assumption, I'd like to erode that a little bit. Mm. The underlying assumption in the way that you present your opinion is as if you are the. You are, I'm right, and you're wrong. That you're the standard of, uh, norms. No, no. I'm not the standard of norms. I'm saying I don't think I represent the general population, but I think that more people on earth will prefer the chocolate over the, over the dough. But I'm not, I'm not saying everybody would like this as much as I do. I'm just saying the chocolate is so special. And the bread is just bread. I mean, this is Spunkmeyer level. Spunkmeyer would put that many in S spun. You thinks Spunkmeyer is all the way there? I mean, I think so. About that much. Yeah. That might be right there. I mean, if. This is not a cookie. I don't think you could do more than this. This will never be a cookie. A muffin is not a cookie replacement, so it's, that's not even. Okay. Worth talking about. Right? 'cause you don't even like cake. Right. I don't like cake. So in this scenario, you like chocolate more than cake. So you should be on, team chocolate crazy. But this one right here, I don't even think I ate yet. That seems low. Reasonable. Oh. You know, moderation sometimes when you, let's celebrate a little moderation, shall we? Mm. Moderation. That's, it's tough to get behind that, you know what I'm saying? It's tough to get behind moderation. Um, okay. I don't love muffins, so I like chocolate better than muffins, right? Yeah. So yeah, I'm right here. I mean, ota, I, I'm at Spunkmeyer level. Okay. Which I think is right there. Okay. I, I agree with that. I don't know. I'm not even gonna push it a little bit further because I think that I actually, there were a couple of bites in there where I felt like I, I got too much chocolate, I'll be honest with you. So, all right. I agree. Right there. So that means that we basically went either regular or heavy on. Everything. There was nothing. Are you done? You done with the episode? that we didn't, that we didn't want? We do have one more round coming your way. You done? Oh, I'm done. I, I, I I'll keep going. Yeah. I'll keep going. Yeah. Last but not least, we have cheese pizza. This one has very little. You are eating pizza. I'm back. I'm back. We. I'm not done. But we're doing a bonus round with pizza. Oh, good. This is a normal level, Nicole. Whoa. Yes. How do you, how did you determine, just you just eyeing it? Based off of vibes. Let's go in the middle first. It's about five, five and a half ounces of cheese, and two ounces of sauce. Yeah. Feels a little light to me. So very thin. Well, this is the first round in which, the structural integrity. I mean, maybe the Caesar salad as well. The structural integrity is gonna be very compromised by the time you get to that level of cheese over there. I mean, look at that. Which is four times the cheese that's on this. This is just a flatbread with a, suggestion of cheese. Just a little, just a little waft. Did it just walk by cheese? No, there's cheese on there. Just those little flecks? But there's also, all the way down to the bread on the, on the top. Nobody's into that. I don't know what you mean, all the way down to the top. Uh, all the way down to the, the dough. Like there's places that, there's no cheese at all, on the top. There is cheese covering this bread. There's exposed dough. Yeah. Now. This is. This, look at this. This is a different food. That's a different. Oh, it's hot. Look at it. Look at that. I mean, it's got, it is got some integrity. I mean, it's, it's, it's the same person when no one's watching. Oh God. Oh God. Glomming it on. I just love cheese. It's just, I just love it. It's so good. It's one of the best things that ever happened is cheese. I wish I could go shake that person's hand. I would be afraid to know how much cheese I'm eating in one slice. This is like a bag of cheese. Yep. I've been there. I've eaten a bag of cheese. You think a shredded bag of cheese? I mean a small one, but this is a like buying a bag of a Ziploc bag of fresh shredded cheese and just eating it. Yeah. If we, we put 20 ounces of cheese on there, so if you do 20 ounces of cheese divided by eight slices, I'm not very good at math. I can't do it in my head, but that's how much is on there. Alright. A little over two ounces. Whew. Um. I mean. Oh eight slices. Oh, no more than that. This is, this is. Um. I'm going back to this. The cheese gets crunchy, it becomes a unit. This is not a unit. Well, it is a unit. It's an absolute unit of a cheese pizza, but it's not unified. Can we talk about it in the context of cheese pizza and not just all pizza? 'cause here's what I'll say. Sure. I've never underfoot, understood the people who just get cheese pizza who aren't children. Let me just be honest with you. Um, if it's got a lot of other toppings on it, then I'm down to clown with this. Oh, I thought you were gonna say you wanted more cheese for all the toppings to be embed in. No, because what happens is when you have too many ingredients on pizzas, it becomes a different thing and it loses all, its its structural integrity, but. That was so good just in the cheese pizza world that I almost feel like it's a little bit of a novelty. Look at how much more you ate. But I, it just had such a good time. I want to eat another slice, but I know that I shouldn't. You had a good time. It's like he went on a trip or something. I did. And I can go there just in my memories at this point. So you, so you, this is, but that's just. I think that's ridiculous. I don't wanna go all the way to the top. It's ridiculous. I mean, I feel like, maybe collectively. Do you ever order a cheese? You don't order cheese pizza, but like, so. Except at school, and I don't go to school anymore. No, you don't. That would all, that's all they would gimme back in the day. So are we, are we living in our sweet spot of. It's like 75. A little, a little bit more is always better for us. 75, 80. Yeah. Something like that. I mean, between the two of us, I just feel like. That's it right there. It's, it's like right in here. Yeah. It's where we need to be. I mean, you know, as I was saying when I thought this episode was over earlier. Yeah. Uh, I think that what we have determined is that, if the thing is good. Still good, um. And then a little bit more is better. Unless it's a corn dog, which is the only one that made us think we could go in the other direction. Right. Yeah. So we're bi for corn dogs is basically what we're saying. Yeah, but only for corn dogs. But only for corn dogs, for now. I mean, I'm not opposed. I'm open to it. I'm open to all things. Thanks for commenting and sharing this video. You know what time it is?
