What's the best thing on the Wendy's menu? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. You know what that is? Morning breath with a hint of breakfast burrito? Nope. It's the Wend…y's of change, because after today your life will never be the same, Link. Oh? Picture one of your favorite fast food chains. Okay. And now picture yourself trying everything on the menu. It's time for Gut Check: Wendy's Edition. Today you'll be tasting 33 menu items from the Wendy's menu. 33. We got everything exactly as it comes, except we removed tomatoes for you, Link. Thank you. And it's my understanding, because if we try to taste literally everything, uh, we probably couldn't do it physically. We're doing all of, like, the main dishes. We're not doing sides, and we're not doing breakfast, and we're not doing desserts. Nope. So you would think Frosty, that's a Wendy's thing, but this is about the burgers and the nuggets and the- That's right … the mains. More about the mains. And I got some help from a scoring card. I asked for this to come back, and I'm glad that it did. Can you tell me how it's helpful considering that, uh, it just shows numbers and it doesn't show how your face would feel? Uh, you know? Well, that, oh. Like, your face stays the same. I don't know. I don't know how it will help. I'll let you know if it did afterwards. Okay. Well, it's g- it makes a cool item. I, I think that it will, though. I think that it will somehow. Okay. All right. It's fun, I know that. All right. Okay. Hungry and ready. Oh, we also have a palate cleanser. You do have a palate cleanser. Why? Sure. Which is water directly from the soda fountain at Wendy's. All right. So it's got a little bit of, like, lemonade in it? Yeah, I don't know. You tell me. Nope. Clean water. All right. We're gonna begin with juniors and nuggets, starting with the junior hamburger. Just a hamburger. No cheese on a little burger. Wendy's makes a good burger, though. It's so little and underwhelming. I'm gonna give it a 14. Okay, hold on. Let me readjust my expectations here. So you hated that bite, or no? Yeah, I, I, I will never order that. Okay. Um, let me see- It wasn't repulsive, it was just unorderable. I liked it, but it's not nearly as good as many other burgers, so I'm gonna give it a 51. Junior cheeseburger. Oh, see? You add cheese, that… Then you move up to 50 for me. Wow. Uh, definitely like that a little bit more. 58. Junior Cheeseburger Deluxe. So what else has that got on it? Mustard. Oh. Blaine. It's just got mustard on it? Blaine, look at that. Look what you did to me, Blaine. It looks like it missed everything. It did mostly. Man, I got so aggressive on that. I mean, I'm also gonna give that a 50. I can't tell any difference. Seemed like there was more mayo and mustard on it. That's the only thing I could tell. I'll give it a 59. Junior bacon cheeseburger. Oh, now we got bacon. Uh-huh. I like bacon on a Wendy's burger. And it's a little one, which is kinda like a- 62 … fun little snack. Yeah. 65. It's going up very slowly. Chicken nuggets. Whoa, okay. That's different You like a Wendy's nugget? I like the, I like their barbecue sauce. So the Wendy's nugget for me is okay. It's pretty, it's got a little pepper in it. Mm-hmm. I like that. I like that, too. Hmm. It tastes like real chicken. I am staying at 65 for that. I'll give it a 64. Spicy nuggets. Oh. Now, how spicy? Spicy. Mm-hmm. Not much spice yet. No, it starts happening. But, oh, I just found something on my shirt. Look at that. It builds very slowly. Blaine. Don't blame Blaine. Blame yourself. I think I'm blaming Blaine 'cause his name's Blaine. Blaine. It sounds like blame. When you got in trouble as a kid, did your parents just say, "We're gonna blame you, Blaine"? I'm going to 49. All the time. 49 for that. Um, I actually like the regular ones a little bit better as well. Mm-hmm. I'm gonna say 55. All right. Now we're gonna move on to burgers, salad, and big bacon, starting with the Dave's Single. Okay. All right. It's a classic What's happening? Why are we having so much trouble? I'm not having trouble. Me and Blaine is what I'm saying, when I say we. When I say we. We're doing great. I mean, that, yeah, we're doing good. That's a good burger. I, uh, I, yeah, I th- I think I'm at 60 for that. It's not wowing me, but it's… I, I, I'll do a 61. Dave's Double. Okay. Oh, look at that. Look at that. Whoa. A little bit higher, maybe? The way- Yeah … the, I mean, the cheese, it's just beautiful. That's a good amount of meat. You know what I'm saying? Square patties. I don't think I'm gonna want more meat than that. Well, you gonna get- But I like, but I like that amount of meat. Mm. 70…74. I'm going to 80. Mm. I just feel like- All right. It's a good, it's a good burger … pristine. 74 may be a little bit low, I acknowledge that. Dave's triple. I mean, look at the meat on that. I've, I've been so afraid of this. I've never gotten it. I've never had that. Mm. 65. That is crazy. 55. It worked. It's still so good though. It helped, it helped you, see? Yeah. Parmesan Caesar salad. Whoa. Oh, okay, yeah. We need a little change up. Was that a, a- Huh. … a mushy crouton or chicken? Chicken. Chicken. I hope it was chicken. Um. That's not bad at all. I've never had it. The dressing is really good. 66. 62. Apple pecan salad. Oh. Oh, this is the one when you wanna be healthy. Uh-huh. Blue cheese? Is it? Mm-hmm. Yep. 'Cause I don't like that and I can definitely taste it. I respect what they're trying to do, which is why I'm still gonna give it a 30. You heard it here, boy. There's, um, that's an inventive salad. They're going out on a limb. 67. I like it. Double stack. Now- Double stack? What is that? The burgers are a lot thinner. You know about this? It's just, it's just smaller and littler. Hmm. Smaller burgers. Like almost like a smash burger. Hmm. It's not as good as the other one though. But the meat is not as good, is it? Am I crazy? It's not. It doesn't taste as good. Tastes more like a White Castle burger. I don't know. Yeah, I, I'm, I'm down in the- 50 … uh, 49. Bacon Double Stack. Okay, well, that's gonna be a little bit better. 'Cause is there just one thing of cheese? I have to know. With the Double Stack, there's only one thing of cheese right in the middle. What's a thing? And it's, one slice of cheese. Mm. And the burger itself is smaller. It's a… Is it a different kind of meat? 52. 49. Son of Baconator Okay, here we go. Here we go. I know that the baconator has this like- Special sauce … bacon sauce and it's a different bun. I love a Baconator. Boy. And so therefore I love Baconator's son. And that's not nepotism. If he wasn't related to Baconator, he wouldn't be on the menu. That is the definition of nepotism. And I don't care. I mean, take it. Hey, take every advantage you can. I, I, I'm just not… Oh, you don't like the Baconator? I'm not f- it's too one-note. Ooh, that hurts. I mean, I'm in the positive area, but I- I'm 81. 60. Baconator. Okay. All right. Come to daddy. See, I just wanna look at this thing, and then I wanna eat it That sauce. I love that sauce. There's nothing else like it. It's a sweet bacon sauce. Mm-hmm. It's a sweet sauce that goes with bacon. It's not a bacon sauce, is it? Yeah, I think there's bacon in the sauce. Oh. Whatever's happening, I like it, and I like it a little bit more than Junior. 62. 86. Dang, son. Cobb- I love the Baconator. Salad. Oh, thanks for the salad. I thought we already went the salad round. We're mixing it up. Mm, that's a little bit… We need a little mix-up Also, it looks like the sauce on a Baconator is mayonnaise. What? Really? Yeah, but there's another sauce. Yeah, it's bacon. Um. Baconator. That's just a regular salad? What kind of salad did you say? Cobb salad. Cobb salad. Got some egg in it. It looks like there's also ketchup on the Baconator. 29. 51 for that salad. Taco salad. Oh, I remember this. What? Oh yeah, the taco salad is so good. Mm. I used to get this. Yesteryear. It's got like- Southwest salad, there's chili on it? They taste just… Oh, yeah, I totally forgot about this. Mm. 77. Taco salad, I forgot about you. I mean, it is good, but I c- I mean, I, I, I'm a 69 it. Okay. But that's about it. Big bacon classic. Okay, now what happened to- How do they keep coming up with these different things? It's a bigger patty. Hmm. Nicer bun, but still not the nicest buns. What makes it not a baconator? That it's just a bacon with a cl- it's classic with a bacon. It's good. There's more to it. There's more variety. 74. Yep. 70. Big Bacon Classic Double. Same thing, you get a double. Look at all that. Look at all that. Good. Look at all that burger. Um, yeah, I gotta say- The burgers are thicker. I mean, th- this is- I feel I'm a little bit lost now … this is really good, but yeah, I'm- 73. … I just don't understand what's happening here and i- in the other triples, they're smaller burgers- … which I think are better. They have three different kinds of burgers, at least. The actual patties. Patties. They got different patties. So that's why I'm, I'm gonna have to push this to 73. You went up. I went up, but I'm trying to not keep it, I'm trying to keep it below the other double stack that I really like. Big Bacon Classic Triple. Okay. Y'all, look at that. That is gratuitous. Turn that around. Look at that. That is so gratuitous. Oh my god. I know I'm touching it, which may raise the question as to why couldn't I just pick it up and eat it? I mean, who do these guys think they are that they just get people to feed them? It's for speed. Like a couple of bratty kings. Believe, believe it or not. Mm. That's a lot of meat. That's too much. I gotta give this a big demotion. Too much meat. 40. I still like it, though, so 53. Now moving on to chicken, starting with the classic chicken sandwich. All right. This is a good sandwich, last time I remember. Wow. This is a challenge. Are we up for finishing this? I'm still enjoying it, and that's a welcome chicken break. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, in fact, I'm so happy eating chicken right now. I mean, I got burgered so hard. I feel like it's such an average chicken sandwich though. It's not jumping out at me. Yeah. I appreciate you putting things in perspective, 'cause you're right. 53. 62. Spicy chicken sandwich. Okay. Hm. Now I'm welcoming the spice. We didn't like the nugget as much. It's good on the sandwich 'cause it's balanced out. Mm-hmm. 67. I'm gonna bump that up to a 60. Grilled chicken wrap. Grilled chicken wrap? Okay. Why would anyone ever? I guess it's maybe healthier 'cause it's grilled chicken Yeah. Slimy, hot lettuce. I'm trying to get, I'm trying to get on that wrap game. Grilled chicken. I've had a lot better things in my life. Quite flavorless. This might be the first one that I actively dislike. Yeah. I'm, I'm not even gonna put it all down the hatch. 24. Yep, 24. Crispy chicken sandwich. Wha- Didn't we already have this? You, you had a classic chicken sandwich. I feel like I'm being tricked. I know. Every- everything at Wendy's is, like, just, like, two millimeters taller. Totally different item. This is more like old-school chicken sandwich. It's like a lunch room chicken sandwich. It tastes exactly like that. Like, like a camp sandwich. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. This is a 30. 38. I remember one time I found a piece of pipe in my chicken sandwich at Buies Creek Elementary. Piece of pipe? It was like a s- cross-section of a PVC pipe. I was like, "What was in this pipe?" What gauge? Crispy chicken BLT. What gauge? It looked like that. It was a little pipe. So they put bacon on, they'll, they'll throw bacon on everything. Give me the other side, dear. Oh, yeah, 'cause see? That's the good side. See, that's where the, that's the good side. You held him back. Are you gonna run and bite me on the side? If he wants to. Uh. Did you, uh, did you tell people about this pipe? You should have reported this pipe because if- Yeah, I told our teacher and they said, "Well, it's just a pipe." Oh, good. I don't know the difference between that other than I guess there was bacon. 41. And cheese. 43. 43. 47. Chicken tenders. Oh, they have a tender too. They got a big 'un. How many forms of things can you have? Oh. About 33 of them. Hmm. Mm. I like that. Why do you like it? I do. 'Cause it's way better than the nugget. It is way better than the nugget. I quite like that. It's, it doesn't have any business being as good as it is. I mean, it's a good finger. 65, 65. 79. Whoo! I didn't, I didn't know about those. Asiago ranch club sandwich, classic. What are we trying to prove here? What? Okay. Asiago. Sometimes I wish I had a mouth on my hand. Try trying to go, "What?" Just so you can go, "Huh?" I'm just saying, this sh- one of the things this show teaches me is it would be cool to have a mouth on my hand because- … think about it. Blaine's bringing that sandwich in. I'm opening my mouth. I'm ta- I could do this. I hold the sandwich up. I could go like this, and I could keep talking and be- And start eating … but I'm eating. Eating and talking at the same time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But- Yeah, that would put you in a dangerous position … but I would be doing it with my hand mouth. And I guess it would digest up my arm. 50. 50. I just don't like what they're trying. Asiago? 58. Ooh. Asiago ranch club sandwich, comma, spicy. Oh, God. 'Cause it's got bacon on it. It's a club. How does it, why do they call it club when it has those things on it? Did they start that at the club? My country club, I think. Country club. Bacon. Golf. 60. 51. All right, moving on to our final category, a little digestif. Baked potatoes. Digestif. Starting with the plain baked potato. Oh, yum. Nothing? What kind of psychopath gets that? That's so weird. All right. I mean, I, w- is it even on the menu that way? Nine. Eight. Cheese baked potato. Okay, here we go. Mm. It's amazing how much better it got. That's a lot of cheese. 29. No, that moved into me like… 59. Sour cream and chive baked potato. Oh, but no cheese. Hmm. Weird. 21. Also my hand mouth wouldn't have hair around it. Wouldn't have a beard and a mustache. Yeah. So I could just eat and then I just wipe it. Yeah, it'd be- It'd be done … it's easy to clean. Or you could shave. 48. Chili and cheese baked potato. Ooh, I used to do this. Now, now we're talking. Hm. 'Cause their chili has the burger pieces in it. Their chili's good. I am now at 51. Um- I mean, if, chilis aside, if we were ranking them- That's one of my favorite things at Wendy's. Chili? The chili on the baked potato. It's reliably good. 83. Hmm. I like it a lot. Bacon cheese baked potato. Okay. See, they will put bacon on something, boy. That's good. It's not chili. No, it's not. 75. I'ma put this at 49. Congratulations, fellas. You've now tasted everything on the Wendy's menu, and we will calculate your scores. We're done? You're done for now. Oh, my God. W- w- we, we have to then taste the top four, huh? And Baconator. So the Baconator- I sense a theme here, Link. We like the- Burgers with bacon on them or doubles … we like doubles. Ooh. I'm just satisfied by seeing that square patty, but of course, we got the dark horse here, the- Taco salad … Taco Salad. I mean, it's very good, and we had forgotten about it. I would like to apologize to the chili baked potato for giving it such short shrift. I, I shouldn't have been so hard on it. Yep. But I'm glad that the chili came through in the salad. I mean, I really like this 'cause you feel like you're doing something a little healthier, but it's just solid, man. Baconator is just mayonnaise, ketchup, bacon, cheese, and I think there's more bacon? On a potato bun. Yeah, it's, uh, six pieces of crispy applewood-smoked bacon. That's a lot of bacon. Now this is the Dave's Double, which is just a classic hamburger. Look how big that thing looks, man. That's beautiful. American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, mustard, mayo, and onion, and then a half pound of fresh, never frozen beef. Or I guess- Hm … two half pounds? That's really good. And then- If you don't like mustard, there's none on the Baconator. I do like mustard, but there's something about that. I don't need mustard on my cheeseburgers. Tell me what is on this one. I can see, but it looks like- That one, uh- … there's no mustard … is a half pound of fresh, never frozen beef, applewood-smoked bacon, American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, mustard, mayo, and onion on a potato bun. So there is mustard. Yeah. But it's very hidden. It's basically everything that this has plus bacon. Which, let me just say, this may, this may sound weird. I don't put bacon on my burgers anywhere else. Like, I don't add bacon to my burgers at a smash burger place. I like them on a Wendy's burger for some reason. You didn't eat the baconator. Yeah, I did. Oh. The big bite, see? Oh, yeah. That was me right there. I'll do another one. Hm. I like this one better than this one. Yeah. Just 'cause it's got bacon on it. I feel like the salad should get an honorable mention. It should go on the board because it's so special. I, I'm fine with that. And now it's just a question of- I just don't know if I wanna put this baconator above that … baconator versus bacon, what do you call this thing? Big Bacon Classic? Big Bacon Classic Double. Hm. I miss the triple. Um, I'm gonna leave it up to you, man. I'm not gonna be offended with the choice that you make. I'm a give you a honorary baconator as the second spot because it's iconic, but this has everything you could ever want in a burger all together at once. Right. Including the bacon, that they can't resist throwing on everything. So we're crowning you the Wendy's Beneath My Wings. That was loud. That was loud. Ugh. And again, what is that called, the winner?
