that I found new research suggests people have warmer feelings toward words certain words make them happier the ones that use mostly letters on the right side of the QWERTY keyboard now the QWERTY keyboard is just your normal keyboard asdf JKL Sam top left and spells out let upper left letter spell QWERTY so what there’s what familiar that I see it everyday words with a lefty bent or viewed is more negative the researchers report online what do you mean negative they’re not as happy they don’t make you as happy Oh words that you type predominantly with your right hand on a QWERTY keyboard are you happier are words that you deem fear not the typing of the words know it just seen the word out in public take the keyboard out of the equation entirely the words that people react to with a more positive feeling I guess the words that make you happier I guess that is what they’re saying a words that as it turns out just so happens you type them most of the letters the majority of the letters with your right hand researchers they ask volunteers to rate their positive and negative feelings regarding English Dutch and Spanish words the research has found that no matter the language and no matter whether the Raider was right or left-handed people had more positive feelings about words that mainly involved right-side keyboard letters even if the words were made up this sounds like a middle school science project you know what I’m saying like last year I did a volcano and this year it does sound great to do happy and sad words I knew you were going to say that and that’s why is true because I have never been happier in my entire life as I was in typing class in high school and especially when I was typing with my right hand I realized that I got really happy that’s just not true no well thinking back I had a lot of fun memory that is a trip we took miss a class miss Paget 9th grade you know and it was like he was an elective it was one of the elective classes it was like what should I take I’m gonna take typing because I heard that it’s fun not I’m gonna take typing because I’m going to need this later and listen we took typing class on typewriters yeah this was not computer applications course which was like you had to take typing before you could take that this was literally a room full of typewriters shout-out to Harnett Central High School and she would sit there and she would stroll around the room and she would say class ready position and she would get she would say good posture one foot slightly in front of the other hands on the corner stood that it’s defeat what does the feet have to do with it you got the point is to go to like 50 words per minute and then she would say a s d FJ k L Sam return and then and it would return I’ll know that win we’re not as old as you think we are we’re I’m just gonna I’m just gonna blame harness central for being a little bit behind no we would literally be given a typewriter an electric typewriter and a thing of whiteout I have never been happy do you remember that it would be like here’s your thing of whiteout make it last all semester yeah and you had to reach up there and we in it never crossed our minds that this wasn’t normal that we were on typewriters and because we had never been on a computer before and of course Kenny would drink his and you know he would have to mooch off people the it’s 15 letters with your left hand versus 11 for your right hand so people think that maybe you just get happier did you also know that there’s a whole other keyboard layout that is not used by anyone but it’s severely more official book about this one time Dvorak didn’t read it I saw it the Dvorak keyboard has it you know if you just typed on it without looking it give you gibberish but if you looked at the letters on there it wouldn’t be asdf JKL sim the home row was designed that your left hand had all the vowels on the home row and then your right hand had the most commonly used consonants and it was extremely more efficient I mean you could get to 203 words per minute why are we doing this because we’re human and we don’t like to change this guy he invented it a long time ago but this guy died being frustrated because we don’t like we don’t like and I’m not gonna reveal you this is like if they don’t like change the Facebook change Oh Time Lord talks a lot do you know wanted to he wanted to memorialize himself no look at all recorded that should be a song back in the days of typewriters you know where the you’d strike a letter it would go up like a mallet and hit just like on a piano they had to space out the letters physically so that the most common use letters would be far enough apart so they wouldn’t get tangled up that the Hammers wouldn’t get tangled up that’s what determined our keyboard and now we’re subject to it we should do this Dvorak thing but you start well we have to like start a movement to in order to do that well let’s start a movement that we’re not participating in because I just can’t take time to learn the new config yeah came out without they say it’s a lot easy today broke don’t fix it ladies and gentlemen the proof is in the
