Hollywood sign Oh a global symbol of moving pictures and entertainment the symbol the bastion of hopes attached to stardom and outer dreams and shattered dreams as well we live in Los Angeles we live in sight of this sign and we see this sign on a regular basis and we have heard tale that there is a hike that you can hike up to it and see it yes so we were intrigued by this and separately we have chosen to do this well because if something were to happen well you know it leads to be one of us to carry on we don’t do anything dangerous together because if both of us are eliminated it would be very difficult to find replacements for both of us at the same time so in other words I took my wife on a hike to the Hollywood side what does that say about my relationship with my wife Christy well if we’re gonna go I want to go with her though what exactly together and so we went we went about a month ago and we hiked to the Hollywood side and I returned with reports of Awesomeness and I guess I guess that uh I should get a cut of the admission of you going admission you didn’t pay no no how would you do jumpa I went the back way oh no you don’t have there is no admission it’s free and I went so you went my good friend Mike he was in town from North Carolina spending a couple of nights with us at our house and we decided to do the manly thing that is to hike and go to the Hollywood sign it’s cool to be able to drive around the city and see this thing which is such a such an iconic sign but it’s cooler to then see it later and say I’ve been up to it but yeah I was disappointing I’m gonna tell you how its disappointed because I thought I could go up there and like climb on it and like touch it it’s not a monkey bar it’s a sign but you get up there and okay not only is it just fenced off with this crazy fence but there are motion detectors and cameras all around this thing there’s like a tree of 360 degree cameras and motion detectors pointing every single way and then there’s cameras and motion detectors on the letters because you actually hike up behind it and you look down from the top of the summit of the mountain down on to the letters and you can see you’re probably 50 feet from at that point hmmm and I actually was talking to Mike the friend I was hiking with you says yeah I was watching this thing on the be listening to this thing on the BBC and on this guy who climbed the fence and went up to it and when he got close to it there was somebody watching the cameras and said sir please step away from the side sure please step away from the side and it was a guy specifically talking to him it wasn’t like a recording it was a buddy in a tower somewhere it was it it was it like god no it was it he didn’t use his name I don’t think God cares who touches the Hollywood sign oh I think it was a person who works for the people who are in charge the Highwoods well stay tuned because we will reveal what all the hubbub is about as to why there’s so much security but let’s put a pin in that but I almost died I you know I almost died a lot but I always say about I almost died on the way down because we took a shortcut down this path that you probably shouldn’t gone but if you called 9-1-1 i’m sorry but i don’t want to hear the story I’m tired of I didn’t call my family calling my mom I was shimmying down this mountain and then I went off the path I went off the path it is all that my nigga short can you go down you know you’re one of the you’re creating erosion you know if everyone was like you the sign wouldn’t be there in six months because it would erode down the side of mountain it looked like fun I just decided to go down it and Mike can’t look like fun I care nothing about my the ramifications of my erosion would be a relative actions it might came down behind me and in one point he’s like 15 feet above me out here this is a steep place cuz I did see I was sliding down it could not stand at one point I hear him saying watch out there’s a rock coming I’m like okay I’ll turn around and dodge this little rock that’s coming right I turn around there is a rock this big three times the size of my head rolling and picking up steam and coming right at my shoulders which are facing uphill just in time I move out of the way I get my head in my major organs out of the way of the rock because this rock would have seriously hurt me but then I realized that my very long legs are still in the path of the rock and at the very last second I scissor kick I go like this and the rock bounces and goes over one leg and under the other and keeps going – you know it wasn’t gonna hit the lower leg I couldn’t get I couldn’t move both legs because I would have felt falling down the whole mountain I had to keep one point of contact and I just went it went right under my leg so at that point you hear the security guy come over the megaphone and he says hahahaha almost gotcha no no I don’t think that was security I think it was just Mike dislodging a rock I think it might have been him but for taking this particular shortcut I thought it would be fun to amass some Hollywood sign trivia and then ask you true or false questions and see how much you know hopefully you didn’t read any signs up there but there’s not really much signage you might Garrett well there’s one really big sign that says Hollywood oh
