welcome to good mythical more Wow I’m sitting up now Harris is it yes let me tell you people do that for three hours yeah three hours of breathing like that mm-hmm just let me I mean it was just a lot of it felt like I was hyperventilating mm-hmm so you were it was like the blood it made my body start to feel like it was it was going to sleep right like my fingertips and not my forearms doing fingertips they feel like they started to go to sleep so was it the circuit I don’t know what what scientifically was happening to my blood flow like it’s like I saw why didn’t get blood flow in my hands is that’s what it was or my feet like the extremities so it’s like yeah and then here it started like buzzing Harris would like to explain if that would help yeah yeah yeah yes I want to know the scientific explanation yeah so basically what you’re doing with this hyperventilation is you’re changing the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the body so with you know this massive influx of oxygen it’s also a massive outflux of carbon dioxide so all this like lactic acid buildup in the body from your muscles moving that’s getting flushed from your system so I think that’s what the tingling sensation is is just the changes in the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in your body but it’s pretty amazing you can create that with breath right yeah and that was just a short period of time mm-hmm I mean is it was so fun I did I did not so I didn’t get Pat in the in that six or however many minutes it was I I lost track at the time I I really didn’t get past the physical sensation but I noticed but it was so like I wasn’t every part of your body is feeling then your thighs to your whatever else you talked about most of your thighs and mostly your thighs but I but I couldn’t speak well I don’t know that’s normal like there wasn’t enough blood in my lips to make them move properly and it was like I felt like my lip was curling under yeah and it was pretty trippy in that way but I mean I didn’t engage the like the the visual center of my brain there was a sheriff I felt assure you felt the sheriff the sheriff did not feel me though what about the second sheriff yeah it was it was more it was more in my mind not that I wasn’t feeling stuff in my body but it wasn’t that specific the first thing I earn Leon I felt more stuff with with with my body then my face started to feel strange I sense my eyebrows in a new way that I never had I think you when you started talking more you couldn’t hyperventilate as much you get like you weren’t able to breathe as deeply when you’re talking so I probably had a deeper deadening hmm you think that’s true you should yeah anything it’s something where you shouldn’t actually be verbally processing the whole time yeah it definitely helps to stay with the breath and usually it’s a more inward journey and that’s where you can have more of that visionary experiences if you just have your eyes closed and you’re just staying focused on the breathing it can really expand that for you then you like you can like come to like a conclusion about something um you can um traditionally it’s like a non directed approach so whatever arises that’s why having an attention can be useful because if you go into it you know with the intention of clearing something or getting clarity about something the experience can you know help you come to a conclusion but it’s not like some Santa Claus genie comes into your experience and gives you like poof and answer usually the clarity that we’re finding or looking for is something that’s you know we have all the answers within us and the breathing just helps you access different parts of your body so maybe more of a clarity associated with like mindfulness yeah but with a more intense physical component yeah and and traditionally this breath this is just scratching the iceberg of a huge huge body of work and it’s been used to never scratch an iceberg I like that yeah the tip of the iceberg scratching the titie scratch the tip of the iceberg it’s weird it’s like a face of the icy yeah you know scratch it at all just refer to it don’t get too close to it you should just be a good two or three boat lengths yeah if you’re if you’re like navigating like oh this is more like a metaphorical Oh ice right we’re not talking like that yeah like ocean navigation yeah I’m not like recommending getting too close to icebergs what’s about how I mean how deep can it go I mean obviously I want you to been doing this um I’ve been doing this work for about a year and a half but Stan Grof and Christina Groff who started holotropic breathwork they’ve been doing this since the 70s um so their sessions are typically longer and it’s a really good tool for uncovering just repressed feelings moving through difficult experiences clearing out trauma from your field so okay yeah but if they’ve been doing it since the 70s how are their brains like do they still seem like good other probably because I’m a little because it it also seems are you obstinate in your brain or are you are you Dupree depriving your brain of oxygen because it’s it’s when I get lightheaded I thought that meant that I was depriving my brain of oxygen and that’s what it felt like well you’re definitely oxygenating your your system you know with the breath and and bringing it in and you’re also clearing out you’re getting even more than you really need right well then you would normally take in with your normal breath but it’s safe so it’s not killing brain cells no absolutely not oh yes yes so this is our adaptation of the traditional holotropic breathwork experience that stan grof and christina graph created typically a holotropic holotropic breathwork session is non directed so it’s just a wide open experience Shawn and I adapted this to focus on the body Shawn and my offering is called earth speaks and our intention is to help people stay grounded and so we decided to kind of threshold that’s why it’s only a minute for each Center cuz it gets you sort of to that like a point but keeps it very in the body so that you’re clearing out you know stuck energy in your body so that you can show with more presence more mindfulness and be more grounded in the moment and like so how many I mean obviously Los Angeles is a good place to be if you’re gonna do this kind of you can find some people who will do it yes so I mean how how big are these classes how many often are you doing them we just started offering them but typically our in this area but typically our sessions are about twenty twenty to thirty people and we’ll just have everyone in a big room together and there’s also something about breathing together with a huge group of people that can be really helpful to just you know you’re held in that experience and it helps you stay present with the breath because there’s there’s like one individual you got 20 people at statistically you’re gonna have one person with just ridiculous halitosis so now you got a whole room full of people and one guys just like a cannon over there just like the fumigating the whole room you gotta mitigate the out of you what do you do about that you have a special bubble or something you put over um [Applause] I haven’t experienced that but usually will hops like some aromatherapy okay you just you drown it out that doesn’t that doesn’t deal with the root of the problem I was at a restaurant the other night with my wife and we sat down at this table and then two couples came and sat at a table next to us French seating yeah you know well I guess yet it wasn’t technically that it wasn’t like that it were the next table over no nothing French about it it wasn’t French see and uh there were a good five feet away from us and that’s definitely not French and I’m getting and I’m enjoying my app and then the next thing I know Jessie looks at me she’s even closer and she’s like I saw the look on her face and then like a second later I smell it dudes just start talking over there with his friends and all I can smell is his breath don’t let a guy like that into your class keep ruining an appetizer yeah that was our contribution thank you thanks for sticking around for good mythical more if you want to watch more well we don’t have good mythical more more but we do have a lot more videos here’s two of
