(rooster crows) (lion growls) – Welcome to Good Mythical More. – Check your voicemail. We have a voicemail, let’s check it. – [Girl] Hey y’all should come down and visit Minnesota. You know, we got a lot of trees and wilderness, and lakes, lots and lots of lakes. More than 10,000 you know. More than 10,000, I’m thinking it’s like 12,567. Or three. 63, 67. Nah, I think it’s 67. Yeah but you betcha, you should come down to visit. See you soon. – See you soon. You’ve sold us. – How much does that remind you of something that we would have done. – We would have done, yes. – It sounds exactly like the kind of phone call– – Come on down! – And we would say, “Come on down to Minnesota,” in a southern accent. – Yeah, yeah. – It makes no sense. – Well that was the only accent we had. – And then we would have thought about how many lakes there were. Hey, that kid’s going places. – So right here I got a one of a kind prop from Buddy System season two, you can win this. I don’t know if you’re gonna want it, but I’m gonna reveal what that is in a few minutes. We’re gonna talk about Buddy System. – Let’s bring in wham bam thank you hamster. It’s your new pet, Link. – I’m just gonna hold your hands while you hold the hamster. – Is it a male or a female? – It’s a male. – Okay. – What came in the mail today? These hamsters. – Mm. Mm-hm. – Oh he’s so warm. He’s warm. – Now– – And he’s hurry. – In a second we’re gonna bring in a pretty amazing hamster world that wham bam thank you hamster is going to be enjoying here at the office, but we do want to talk about Buddy System because this is a very exciting day, something that we’ve been working on for a very long time putting a lot of our hearts and souls, sweat and blood and other bodily fluids into. – Our entire summer. – Yeah, basically our entire summer. A little bit before that and then a lot after that. – A lot after that too. – But for those of you who don’t already know, this season is all about us in an alternate universe where we didn’t meet in first grade, so we actually play ourselves, but we’re playing versions of ourselves that we might have become, like legitimately have become if we didn’t know each other, so some of the things that make me who I am make Link who he is. I’ve been greatly– – Accentuated. – Accentuated. Expanded, almost to a point of caricature. And that explains a little bit about what Link has in his little prop bag there that we’re gonna share with you. But anyway, the differences with this season are every episode’s longer where we’re up to more traditional half hour episodes which is really just 22 minutes but many of them are longer than that. So it’s significantly longer than season one, and it’s also batch released so you’re not just gonna see it every single week. You can go and watch it right now. So if you have never signed up for YouTube Red, you can do that and then you can go ahead and binge the whole show. And a lot of things have changed about YouTube Red over the past year, there’s a lot more shows, so I think the offer that YouTube Red offers, we offer that they offer. – Is being offered. – Is being offered. – And it’s offerable. – Even better offer this time around, because there’s that many more shows that are coming, have come to the platform, and will continue to come to the platform so it’s even a better buy. – He’s such an inquisitive little guy because he’s gonna love his world when we bring that out in a minute. Go ahead and hold him, yeah. – My first pet was a hamster. – Yeah, Pokey. This is what I got here. Now, in Buddy System, what we wanted to, very early on once we decided what we wanted to do, we knew we wanted to signify with our looks that this is an alternate universe in that we were the same people but different people as Rhett already described, so I don’t know which came first, the mustache or the man bun, but– – They came out around the same time. – They basically came together. – What are we gonna do physically that is different? – And having that mustache– – Settle, settle, boy. – For a whole summer was not something that my wife loved. Or my kids, they didn’t think it was cool. And that’s kinda part of it, it’s like, you know, you can red into Buddy System as much as you want to see what we think about our friendship and how it impacts us as people. But I would like to think that I am a cooler version of myself because of you, Rhett. Or at least a mustache-less version, I would never. Rhett’s the only reason I don’t have a mustache. – Link’s the only reason I don’t have a man bun. – And let me tell you, by the end of shooting, I was very ready to get rid of that mustache, because I would be shooting a scene and then all of a sudden my nose would be itching and there’d be a hair from my mustache going up into my nose, and like tickling, tickling inside of it. So I couldn’t wait to get rid of it. But when I did. – And unlike Link, I did not, mine was not natural, mine is just a man bun that was attached to me. So I did grow it longer, but I did not grow it as long as it needed to be. – And you can read on this, Link’s mustache. Do not eat. I trimmed it and I caught it and it’s in this, well I’ll open it, it’s in this sealed envelope. I’m gonna keep it sealed. I wanna make sure it’s still in there. – He’s so curious. – I don’t know something about. But what I want, I want a lucky Mythical Beast, a talented, creative Mythical Beast to earn the right to own this mustache. There it is. Can you see that? Here we go. And it’s almost in the shape of a frickin’ mustache in there. (chuckles) There it is, that’s my entire mustache. – How can someone get that? – And here’s my idea. First of all, right off the bat, this is weird. I know it’s weird, but maybe you want all my mustache. I would like to commission Buddy System season two fan art of us, so as you watch the series, as you watch the season right now, just translate that into some sort of fan art, maybe it’s your favorite scene, maybe it’s something that didn’t exist but you’ve taken our two characters and you’re drawing them, a lot of Mythical Beasts out there so I expect some good work. When you depict me, I hope i will be part of it, you don’t have to draw in my mustache. Because if you win, you can send it to us, we’re going to attach my actual mustache to Buddy System season two fan art and then hang it up in our office. That’s my idea. – Nice. – Weird, huh? – A little bit. So you gotta make a big face for Link. – Well it doesn’t have to be too big. I mean the hair doesn’t go as far as you think it does. Or you can draw the hair and we’ll just augment it with my actual hair and then we will place it in a permanent location in our studio, so here’s what we want you to do, to summarize– – Hey Link. – Yeah. – [Woman] But how do they get the mustache? – When we say that they won, we get them to mail us, the winner, we get them to mail it to us, and then we attach it and we keep it on display in our studio. – [Woman] Okay so they win the art, that we keep it. – Yeah. (chuckles) – You win that we keep it. – Is that a bad idea? Is it a better idea for us to just mail them the mustache? – How about this, how about this? – You think it is? – Hold on how about this? – Stevie thinks it’s a better idea to mail you the mustache, you attach it to the art and you keep it. That’s more, I kinda wanted to keep my mustache. – Well hold on, is there a compromise, you make a mustache with your mustache and then you give them the other half of the mustache? So like you give them, you mail half of the mustache to them and half of the mustache on the picture. – No. Because I don’t think anyone just wants to keep a mustache, I think it needs to be in the art. If we agree right now that we should send them the mustache as their prize and they can put it on the thing and then post it, I think I could be happy with that. – Okay, you can be happy with that. – You think that makes more sense? – Uh, yeah. – Okay, let’s do it that way. – Because then people can clone you which is really what they wanna do. – Oh I’m fine with that. Get a lot more work done. So let’s bring in, what’s his name? – Wham bam hamster. Wham bam thank you hamster. – Ham sandwich? – Wham bam thank you hamster! – You have until Monday, December 11th to post your fan art using, well here’s how I want you to post it. Post it in response to our Facebook post or our Twitter post underneath, that’s where we want you to post your fan art. Those are the only two places we’ll be looking for it. Choosing our winner, deadline is Monday night, December 11th, and then we’ll announce it later that week on the show. And we will send you the mustache, you can add it to the fan art and complete the fan art with a real mustache. That’s what we decided. – He’s got his own land, you know? He’s got his own yard and multiple houses. – [Link] He’s so inquisitive, he’s looking around. – [Rhett] Trees. – [Link] Like a little frontier fort. – He’s scoping out– – Totally custom made, guys. – It seems like he kinda wants to get out. Maybe he’s just exploring the boundaries. – Yeah, he’s like, I got enough. It’s all yours. – He’s like what, is there anything better outside than I have in here? – I don’t think you have. How does he get up, he has to go up here. – He’ll figure it out, watch this. Just watch, he’ll figure it out, here you go. This is like when you move into a new apartment, you know, and you can’t remember how stairs work. Like I don’t remember, I don’t know how to go up. – He’s gonna figure this out eventually, then he’s gonna go through here and he’s gonna come over here and he’s gonna have a nice little place where he looks over his kingdom and see-saws with himself, like you did in Buddy System. – Yes, I did. What is that thing? – That is, it’s a hamster chewing thing. He likes the smell when he chews on it. – This would give him his own little (mumbles). No, you can’t get out. But you have plenty, you have plenty to enjoy inside there.
