Welcome to Good Mythical More. We’re gonna do an age-old fry experiment with some aged fries. – But first, we’re going to donate $1,000 to Homes For Our Troops to aid in their mission to build and donate specially-adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 vets. These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our veterans sacrifice while defending our country and enable them to focus on their family and recovery. Please join us in giving at hfotusa.org. Thank you for being your mythical best. – Can you say- – HFOTUSA. – H-fotu-sa. – H-fotu-sa.org. – Thank you for being your mythical best. – Now, before we get tasting, I have got to- – We have fries here. – There’s something I got to do. – And we’re gonna associate these fries with how long they’ve been sitting out or how long they’ve existed. As you can tell, they all kind of look similar. We’re going to have to get down and dirty. But first, Rhett’s got to- – I’m gonna need a little help. – He’s got to personalize his ball pit. – I need a little help getting my ball- – Put your arms all the way up. – My ball pit. – And then… (plastic rustling) – And then, up, up, up. – Suspenders. – And then suspenders. – [Both] Oh, shoot. – You just broke a suspender. Put this one on. – Am I gonna have to just hold it on that side? – A little help. A little tape. – [VOICE] Behind. – I think it might be glue. – Where are the balls? Right here? Are these the balls? – [VOICE] Yeah. – I think I can just – I think I can hold it. Link, could you- – Now, I fully expect, when I dump these out, for there to be a little (exclaims) (balls dropping) A little turd down in there. I never got in the ball pit. – Did you get these from a ball pit? Did you steal these from a ball pit, or take one every single day? – [Stevie] Yes. – For a long period of time? – [Stevie] Both of those things. (Rhett whooping) – The streak is over! (whoops) I’m in the ball pit! – Almost dropped part of it. – (whoops) Yeah! Yeah. – All right, we got a few more down here. – It doesn’t feel like it’s as fun as it would be if I were to jump into it. You know? I mean, I’m having fun. It’s not as good as pool pants. – Relax your bowels. – Remember those? – Yeah. – Pool pants? – It does remind me of pool pants. (plastic rustling) Look at that. Look at that. Oh, you’re dropping. You’re dropping. – Okay. All right. Okay, I think I can sit down now. – [Stevie] So ball pit was supposed to have a double meaning, but Lucas made these, and he’s shorter than you are, so pretend. – (humming) Yeah, I know what you mean by that. – Balls pit. (balls dropping) – Oh, you’re dropping. – I don’t know how many are gonna come out when I sit down now. – You’re dropping. Oh, that’s nice. – Oh, hey. It’s a shame that we have all these things in front of you. You can’t see it. Just know that it’s there. – (sighs) You want to eat some fries? – Yeah. Okay, so, you’ve got these labeled with letters, and then we’ll tell you guys what the letters are so we can put these things here. We’ll start with D. – We need to find the most recent one. – There’s not an A for – oh, here’s A. A’s a photo. – Yeah, we have some photos. – I mean, if it’s a photo, that probably means that we got it from somebody, from the internet. So that’s probably because, you know, we haven’t been doing the show for 10 years. – Well, let’s – here. So taste that. That tastes- – Oh, you’re gonna taste all of these? – Yeah. – [VOICE] Oh, no! – Rhett- – [Stevie] No, no, no. – I mean, I’m not gonna eat them if they’re four weeks old. I’m not gonna eat them if they’re two weeks old. – How are you going to tell if they’re old? – Did you already eat one? – I mean, I took just a teeny, teeny, just the teeniest bite. (crew laughs) Yeah, just the – McDonald’s fries don’t go bad. – Tell me what that tastes like, then. – I think that I’ll be the taster. This – to me, these are not that old. – Let me, let me- But I’m would say- – I’m gonna look at them. – I would say like a week and a half. Let me see if these are older. I mean, if I look at these, there’s no difference. Oh, shoot. – These are older. These are older than those. – So you, I mean- – I just, you know, just trying to kind of put them in different places. – So this is D. This is what you tasted first. They don’t look any different. I mean, these are darker, but it looks like- – These are even older than those. – Oh my gosh. (crew laughing) – I think they’re just cooked more. – [Rhett] These are newer. – Newer than what? Newest? – Newer than those. (crew laughing) These are newer than those. – I mean, if you get this right… Oh. That sounded like beef jerky. So those are the oldest. – Yeah. Oldest of all. – All right, and now I’ll help you out with the pictures. (Rhett spits) So, A. A just looks like… – [Rhett] I’d say- – [Link] Looks normal. – I’d say four months on those. – Oh, shoot. – So we can move all of these. – Can you cover that for me? So I can move these to one day, move these to four days, move these to – wait, this is two weeks. – Now, E… E looks just like A. – Three weeks. – [Link] I mean, it’s different photo quality. – [Rhett] Four. – So when you look at G, I mean, the fries look the same. – Let me see G. – The fries look the same, but the container has mold all over it. – The container. So we’re going to go 10 years for G. – We got to go 10 years with- – And which one is the oldest between those two? – (sighs) Oh, that has mold on it, too. – E’s older than A. A is four months. – A is four months, I’m thinking. – I’m not that confident about what I’ve done here. – And then E is 6 years. but I’m not going to taste them again. – You seemed pretty confident. I mean- – I was just going on instinct without thinking too much, but I was tasting one end of one fry. It might not be representative of the whole lot. – [Stevie] Do you want to go from the photo end? – Of course, this reminds me of Supersize Me. Didn’t he have a segment where he highlighted- – That fries don’t go bad. – That fries don’t go bad? And if memory serves me correct, I do think there’s a person on the internet, at least, it’s probably multiple people on the internet, who document this type of thing. I’m curious if all of these are from the same site or from different people. – You want to touch my balls? Like, just take one. – I already have. – Just take one and- It’s very pleasing to – with just two fingers. Like, it feels – that’s a satisfying… – Yeah, there’s a little give to it. Stevie. – [Stevie] Yes. – To answer your question- – [Stevie] Yes. – What was the question? – [Stevie] I have information. Let’s start on your end, on the photo end reveal. Do you want to start there or would you like to start with your physical fry reveal? – Yeah, ’cause these are the easiest. Yeah, let’s start here. – [Stevie] Okay, what do you have as 10? – [Both] G. – [Stevie] You are correct. These were bought in 2009 in Iceland, right before McDonald’s closed all franchises in the country, which I did not know was a thing. – Why are you gonna close a McDonald’s in Iceland? – [Stevie] Yeah. – Regulation. – [Stevie] They’re kept in a museum on a live stream. “Note: we should crop out so it’s just the fries.” Oh, whoops. (laughs) – What? – [Stevie] I don’t know. That’s in my copy, but it’s not- I mean, it’s a production note. – What about- – Hold on. But why are they gonna close down in Iceland? – Yeah, find out why they ran all the McDonald’s out of Iceland. But go ahead with this. – I was so excited about one day visiting Iceland. – So six years – well, you still can. – They don’t have a McDonald’s. I’m not going. – [Stevie] Celine is saying people in Iceland hate McDonald’s. They don’t have fast food, really, and they were very upset. – I respect that. – [Stevie] But they do have KFC, which, come on. Yeah. – They only eat things that are cooked with geothermal energy from the earth. – That’s redundant. – [Stevie] What do you have at six years? – E as in ew! – [Stevie] Yeah, you’re right. – Okay, and then- – [Stevie] Same fries as before, but photographed in 2015, so they were only six years old at the time. – So they’re not from Iceland. This is a totally different website. – [Stevie] No, I said, same fries as before. (laughs) – Yeah, yeah. – Oh, the same fries. – So it’s the same exact box. – [Stevie] It’s the same. – The same exact fries. – Yeah, yeah. You thought she meant, yeah, same fries, from McDonald’s, just McDonald’s fries, Just so we’re all on the same page. – Four months. – This is- – These are not the same fries. – [Stevie] Yeah. Photographer Sally Davies bought a McDonald’s Happy Meal and took photos of it sporadically over a six-month time period. – Yeah. – [Stevie] Here’s one photo from the 4.5 month mark. – Oh, I’m breathing on it. – The one we have? – So we – we’re correct about that one. – [Stevie] Yeah. (laughs) – A. – Are you going to bring us another one? – [Stevie] No, there’s no production note about being another one. – Okay, so Rhett said that the oldest in-person fries were C, at four weeks. – [Stevie] That is incorrect. (Rhett sighs) – [Stevie] Would you like another chance? – Okay, was it H? Because H is right next to it. – [Stevie] No. – Oh, Rhett. Was it F? – [Stevie] Now you’re just going through all of them. – I just want to see how – okay, well, just tell me which one it was. – [Stevie] No, it’s not F either. – Which one is- – [Stevie] Do you want to reorganize your physical fries? – No, because I don’t want to taste them, and they all tasted very similar. – [Stevie] Okay. The four-month-old fries are in bag A. – We don’t have an A. No, that’s a picture, A. That’s picture A. So we’re going with the four-week-old. – [Stevie] Oh, sorry, sorry. – Four weeks. – [Stevie] Sorry, sorry. The four-week-old fries. – Four weeks! (crew laughs) Four weeks! – [Stevie] Sorry. Somehow, I confused everyone, including myself. – The same fries. – [Stevie] Four-week. F. – Oh. So I said those were the middle. I said those were two weeks old. – So we were wrong about that. – So move those. – Those go here. And then C is up for grabs. Okay. Three weeks. – [Stevie] So what do you have at three? – Three weeks, we said H. – [Stevie] Incorrect. – Is it C? – [Stevie] It is I. – Oh, the one I put in second place! I just hope I’m right about the most recent ones. – I mean, I’m kinda glad you tasted it, because what we’re learning is that- – They don’t degrade. Well, they degrade immediately- – And then it’s just- – And then they stay the same for a long time. – They plateau. So H was wrong. You’re bringing that there. Two, so- – Oh, dang, man. – You thought they were decent. Okay, two weeks. – Well, let’s just see. – He has no answer. – Let’s just see. For a week and a half, I said it was D. – [Stevie] Incorrect. You want to know what a week and a half is? – No, tell us- – [Stevie] Or two weeks? – Tell us what two weeks is. – [Stevie] Two weeks is C. – [Both] Okay. – So that’s the one you thought was the oldest. That wasn’t that bad. – What is week and a half? – [Stevie] One and a half weeks is B. – No! The one I thought was one day old is B! It’s a week and a half old! – Oh my gosh. – Man, this is an indictment. – [Stevie] Four days is H. – You thought H was three weeks old, and it’s only four days old. – What? And I had D in second place? – [Stevie] And one day old is D. – So, but – okay. – One day old you thought was a week and a half old. – All right, but taste them. But taste them. This is just a day old. – Oh, gosh. – They’re immediately horrible. Like, you got to get them right off the fryer. – That’s bad, man. – Like you really can’t even wait. You can’t even wait a few hours. – No, no. Well, hold on. You can’t even wait- fifteen minutes. – A few minutes. Yeah. – [Stevie] Oh, I need to clarify something about the Icelandic McDonald’s. – I eat all of my fries- – On the way home. – Well, yeah. If I got a bag sitting in the car, there’s no way. – You got eat the fries on the way home. Don’t wait till you get home. – No, even if I’m sitting there in the parking lot, I’ll eat about half the fries before I get into the burger. – Do you know one special trick? And you can do this in a couple of places. So we get Wingstop takeout or delivery on a pretty regular basis. Wing night. And you get the fries, and you can get the fries well done. They ask you if you want it to get well done, even in the app, in the Wingstop app. – You’ve told us this before. – No, that makes it be able to be brought to your house and then you can eat them and still enjoy them. – But – yeah, if they’re well done. – If they’re well done. If they’re not well done, just hang it up, y’all. Don’t get fries. – What was wrong about Iceland? – Nothing. Iceland’s perfect. – [Stevie] Well, no. The reason that the McDonald’s closed in Iceland is due to general economic struggle, but to be clear, Celine’s family really did not like having it there. – Hold on. Your family’s from Iceland? – [VOICE] Yeah. – Like, what parts of the family? – [VOICE] My grandparents moved here when they were in their twenties. So my dad was born here, but- – You’re just a couple of generations from Iceland. – So your grandparents moved here. Do they still have like a shack or a cabin or any type of- – [VOICE] Yeah. They spend a few months a year up there. – How many times have you been? – [VOICE] Twice. – Good Lord. We have an Iceland regular in our midst, and we didn’t even know it. (crew laughing) – What’s the place like? Can we go there? Do you have a bidet? (crew laughs) – [VOICE] There are two bidets. – Yeah, but it only shoots ice. – Two bidets! – It shoots ice right in your ass. – So there’s two bidets in your grandparents’ shack. Is it a shack? Is it a house? Is it modern? – [VOICE] It’s a house. It’s a house. Shack? – You know. I don’t know. I just picture, like- – Is it a shack? – [VOICE] They’re in Keflavík, which is right, it’s like a suburb of- – Say that again? – [VOICE] Keflavík. – [Both] Keflavík. – [VOICE] Yeah. – A suburb of Reykjavík? – Yeah, but just keep in mind, there is no McDonald’s. – Okay, okay. – But there is a Jack in the Box, right? – [VOICE] I don’t know. My grandparents only took us to KFC. – I graciously accept your grandparents’ offer to sit on both of their (stammers) bidets. – (laughs) Both of their dibby-dibets. (Link scat-sings) I’m here to sit on your (stammers) dibets? (Link stammers) – [Link] Make your showers more mythical with the Rhett & Link shower curtain and towel set, available now at mythical.com.
