GMMore 1870: Link Puts Rhett’s Hair In Rollers

(rooster crowing) – Welcome to Good Mythical More. We’re gonna hot roll Rhett’s hair. – Hot diggity dog. First, we’re gonna check our voicemail. We have a voicemail, did you know that? – Yeah I did. And we’re gonna check it. – [Deep Male Voice] Rhett and Link. – Yeah. – [Deep Male Voice] The secret code to unlock your full mythical potential is as follows. 4A77E1V2 Insert code into the appropriate tab. Have fun. – 4-A– do you remember the code? – Hold on, what tab are we talking about? – Um– – Where’s that code go? I’m very nervous now. – Yeah, I’m gonna ignore it. (Rhett laughs) – I feel– – I’m going to ignore it. – I feel quite peaked after eating that eyeball. – Yeah. – Okay, you ever curled your hair before? – I don’t think so. – I mean, it’s already a little bit curly. – It tends to curl on its own, but not to the degree that this will do. I’ve got some, like, you know, I have a little bit of product in my hair. – First we gotta comb out the hair. Do you need my help with that? – Nope, nope, nope, do not do that because you will pull it right out. You will break it. – I mean– – I don’t think we’re gonna have– – Why not just– – I just think, can you get a piece without combing it out completely because it’s just gonna– Especially back here where it’s been tied up and it’s got– – I just need you to get groups of it. If you don’t– We gon’ get in an argument if I have to sit here and segment his hair. We did a vlog where I straightened his hair and if we didn’t cut out all the arguing, it would have been a three-hour video. – Emily, you’re on the line, so you tell me. If we can get the hair in pieces, how important is it to brush it out? Because– – [Stevie] In my opinion, I think it’s very important, but for the sake of time I could feel that your hair is gonna curl really easy. – Brush that piece right there. – [Stevie] Yeah, that’s a good chunk. – You never brush your hair is what– – No, no, that has nothing to do it. I washed it and brush it out last night, as a matter of fact. But when my hair wasn’t in a bun earlier today, it had some mousse and some, like, two other things in it. So it’s just really thick. – All right. So I’m gonna– You go to the other side and do the same thing while I take this side and– Ooh, that’s warm. That’s why I’m wearing these gloves. And then I’m gonna pull this all the way– – Ow, ow, ow – You tender headed? – Yeah, very. – Well, I’m just doing what I’ve been told to do, man. Now, see, it’s not tight enough, I don’t think. That’s gonna have to work. I think that’ll work. And do you have the other one? Why are you putting on gloves? – ‘Cause I’m gonna be– – No, I’m saying you keep brushing out, then you come over here and brush that out. – Okay. – And Imma go– Slide over here to the middle. Slide over here to the middle. And I am going, – I mean, as long– – So that one’s not ready? – Yeah, it’s ready. I mean, as long as you can grab it. – So now brush out the other side, and then I’m gonna, let’s see, pull that underneath. – I think this has got to be good enough, I mean– – Brush it. – It’s not gonna do anything. It’s not gonna change anything. – Emily said it makes a difference. – What does it change, Emily? – [Stevie] It’s not that it changes anything, it just allows it to kind of smooth out and really, you know, come together as a curl. If you have it curly it’ll be like, kind of a weird, matted dread lock curl. – Go back, now. – It’s just not what you want. – Yeah, I just shouldn’t have put anything else in my hair. I didn’t know this was gonna be happening. – I think the mousse is gonna help, honestly. – I mean, you’re clearly upset about it. – Well, I’m just saying I’m not going to brush it out, ’cause it’s just going to be too– It’s gonna be way too– I have to wash it, wet it before I really brush it out. – I’ll tell you right now, I’m bringing my A-game. I’m gonna– – Ah, you’re pulling lots of hair out! Lots of hair. – I mean, I’m really not pulling that hard. If you went to a salon, man, they would be making fun of you – They would be way more gentle and way less bossy. – I’m not being bossy. What have I told you to do? – [Stevie] I’m gonna make a suggestion– – Emily’s being bossy! – [Stevie] Maybe try brushing the ends first and moving up to the top, instead of trying to rip it all the way, you know what I mean. – Well, some of it is okay. – Yeah, teach him how to brush his hair. I think we may have put too much in. Like, your segments may be a little bit too– too large. – This is a good size over here. – Okay, and then– I got it. Go to go back to the other side. Look at that hottie. Throw that hottie in there. Yeah, you’re almost doing too much hair at once, but we ain’t got forever, I mean– – Right, yeah, I mean– – You’re either gonna get ready, or you’re gonna go. I gotta split the difference. Man, look at that. I can’t really see, I can’t see what I’m doing, so you gotta kind of move that out of the way. This is gonna look excellent. (woman laughing) This is gonna look so good. – You went down here? – I just kind of grabbed the next piece, man. I can’t really see where it’s, I can’t see what’s going on. – I don’t know if this is what you wanted me to grab next, but– – Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Is it supposed to hurt a lot, Emily? – [Stevie] So much. I’m kidding, you guys are really doing great, actually. – I mean, you’re not, um– – [Link] What are you doing? – Trying to grab the next piece. – You really need to comb some of this stuff out. – I’m not gonna let you do it. – There’s so much, there’s so much relational tension here. It’s like, I mean, we’re both trying our best, but you know, he doesn’t want me to touch his hair. – There’s no relational tension, there’s tension with you touching my hair. – He’s tender-headed. – [Stevie] This reminds me of like, when I had to get ready for a dance and my mom would help me curl my hair and you, like, get right to the edge of just losing it all. – Yeah, and– – [Stevie] And then you go to the dance! – All I’m doing is trying my best. – I’ll let my wife do it. – Just trying to– – She’s gentle, she’s gentle. She’s a gentle person. – Yeah, I don’t, I don’t– I’m giving you what I think you deserve. (team laughing) You’re saying that your wife curls your hair? Is that what you’re saying? – No, I’m saying, if I need something, sometimes my hair gets so matted up and so knotty that she’s gotta like, get in there and do things. – You know what, let’s get this mullet taken care of here. I know this isn’t what you brushed, but you know, I brush a dog. See, look at that, that doesn’t hurt. See? I’m doing good. – Well, you’re doing good right now, yeah. This is a new technique. Now you’re pulling, now you’re pulling out hair. – And then, we’re gonna get one of these right here. Oh yeah. Oh, here over that. – What’s happening there at the end? That’s the part that hurts. – What happened there? – I mean, that’s kinda curled. – All of the back, I’m not studding the back. – I mean, that’ll blend in. That’ll all blend in. – This over here, look at all this, look at all this we forgot. – This is the face I gotta make to get through this. – You anticipate pain, but nothing’s hurting. – It’s hurting, several times. – Open that, please. – He’s not bossy. Don’t worry, he’s not bossy. – I’m starting to boss! Because of how you’re being. – I haven’t done anything! – Whiny! – I’m just sitting here– – Whiny! – [Stevie] This is bringing back so much for me, personally. – Ow! That hurts so bad. – I mean, do you notice a pattern between how you’re treating me and how much pain you’re in? I mean, it seems like you’d be nicer to me. – Oh my gosh. I think in his mind, it’s really, he really thinks that I’m being mean to him. I think he honestly feels that way. – I’m doing you a favor. – [Stevie] Mom? Is that you? Are you inside of Link? – I got it. I just need to finish this. If you would just let me do my thing. You’re the one who wanted your hair curled. This wasn’t my idea. – Actually I didn’t. – [Stevie] Oh yeah, eat some cinnamon roll, that’ll make you happy. – McDonald’s cinnamon roll, I got that for you. – Yeah. – See? – Look at that. – And then– – This is new? Not a sponsor. Good God. – Now that is, that looks like a cream cheese type situation. (team laughing) Look at that, see, I could have a future in this. Oh yeah, I feel like I’m getting better. – Mmm. (Rhett writhes in pain) – What? Is it that bad? – That cinnamon roll’s so good. Oh, god. – What, what are you talking about? – What’s happening, is as you roll it, and it gets right next to the scalp, there’s a whole lot of hair on the bottom that’s being pulled really, really hard, that’s like, not in line. It’s like this at the bottom, and all this hair right here is getting pulled up in there and it’s almost being pulled out. I could show you what it feels like. – You seriously think I’m about to pull your hair out? – Oh, you have pulled a good amount out already. I mean, but people have a lot of hair, so. – I mean, it doesn’t, you know– – You want me to do it to you? – No! This is not my idea, this is not my dance. All right, so let’s set the timer, I’m done by the way. – Oh, I was gonna say, hold on, what about all this? – This is how you’re going to look. – What about that, mom? – I ain’t doing, there’s so much, it’s like, this is just, yeah, forget about that. There you go. – Do you have a reason? – I’m tired of putting up with your stuff, man. I’ve done the best I can. – If I were a mannequin, it would still be the same exact level of energy. – All right. So now we’re going to wait, what? A couple of minutes? – Have that cinnamon roll. – [Stevie] Just about three to four minutes should, I mean, I’d say three. – Is it hot? Can you feel any heat? – I just feel a lot– – [Stevie] The scarier thing is the curling iron and your mom, like, that’s like, wielding a weapon. – Yeah, the straighter. – [Stevie] No, straightener, I mean, you can burn yourself, but it’s a little bit more difficult. A curling iron, like, oh, you’re gonna burn yourself for sure. Maybe multiple times. – And I remember that video of that, that girl who just, like, melted her hair off. I don’t know what she was doing. Do you remember that, that viral video? I keep, I wanna pet this like it’s an animal. It’s warm. – I kinda like it like this, just this look, – I think this will create, it’s gonna create something. – Oh, it’s gonna be awesome. – I just question whether they were hot enough. – [Stevie] You know what’s helpful is that you can really see Rhett’s ears. – Right. – Yeah, let’s promote our product. – We have a podcast. – If you haven’t listened to our podcast, we’re nicer to each other then than this. – I’ve been very nice during this time. – We talk about things. It’s not that you haven’t been nice, you’ve just been, you know– – Concerned about my wellbeing? – Yeah, you’ve, you know, you’ve articulated your pain and it’s just, it’s not what anybody wants to hear. (Rhett sniggers) Oh, I’m hurting. It’s not, that’s not, that’s not good for YouTube. – It’s no fun. It’s no fun to have anybody, it’s not fun to have people voice their preferences. Nobody likes that. – So anyway, I mean, it’s never passive aggressive like this on Ear Biscuits We’re like, we’re more like actual friends, – But only on the podcast (laughing) – So check that out. – If you’re interested in that, we have a podcast. – It’s just like, you know. – We’re going to talk about Christmas traditions. – You gonna get me to touch his hair and you’re gonna think that we’re not gonna be on each other’s nerves. – No, that’s why– – That’s why they did this. – That’s why they did this, they knew this would happen. – Yeah, it’s not me. And it’s not you. – Well, okay. If that makes you feel better. – I feel great. But also really angry. – The anger started pretty early in this project. – I know, but everything you say is like, making me really angry. Like, I don’t know. It’s just like, there’s nothing you could say that wouldn’t make me angrier. I don’t know, it’s like– – Well, that’s something you need to deal with. – See, there it is again. (Rhett and team laughing) – I’m not mad at all. I mean, I just don’t like pain. And I’m feeling fine right now so I’m happy. – Emily, this is on you. – Don’t put me, don’t drain me. – [Stevie] It’s okay. – I’m not dragging anybody in, I’m not mad, Emily. Link is upset with you (laughing) – I’m not upset with Emily. – [Stevie] I think that you guys did a great job and I can’t wait to see the results. I think you could take them out starting now. – Okay. – Well, I’m here to help, but only if you want me to. (woman laughing) Oh, it worked! – [Rhett] Oh gosh. – Shake them out dramatically. Leave that. – [Rhett] Leave what? – Leave that. – [Rhett] Why? – ‘Cause that’s not curled. Oh, you got a big curl in the front. – [Male Team Member] You look like a little baby. (laughing) – Don’t shake it out more. Oh look, you can look through that one. It’s like a fricking monocle. – Here, this one? – Yeah. – Look– – You can look through it! – I think I can do it with this one. – Oh my gosh! – Can I do it with this one too? – It was all worth it! All right, now let it go, do some modeling poses. – Let’s get this one out. – What do you mean? What do you mean? That’s just– – I know it’s just a clip, but it’ll– – Let me get it. Listen, you can’t accept help, all right. – What? I think he’s serious. I like the way it– – This is a thing. – I like the way it feels on the side of my– – You got an under, it’s like a under thing. – It feels so soft. Yeah. Oh, that’s good. That’s real good right there. – It no longer, it’s starting to look normal. – Oh, this is cool. This is my new thing. – Yeah, that’s pretty ridiculous. – I have no peripheral vision. – Give them a profile, ’cause there’s some nice, what do you call that? A little bounce? A little bounce in your step, right there. – Is this what happens when– – Go around that way. A few in the back. Oh, look at those. – Is it about losing peripheral vision? Is that the point? You don’t have to poke so hard. – Put your finger in there, see what it feels like. – Put your finger in your curl, man. Put your finger in your curls, see what it feels like! – How’s it feel? – It feels pretty good. It feels pretty good, I could play with this all day. – Give it a good shake now, let’s see if there’s a different, this is like halfway through the school dance. Like you’ve been dancing to some– Oh, you’ve been headbanging. – Yeah, still got no peripheral vision. – It’s still kinda the same. – I could make eye contact with anybody across the room though, I just have to look right at them. So I see, I see somebody that I want to dance with, I’m like, (laughing) – I think you would look through the monocles. Binocular. – I go to the dance, and I stand against the wall, and I’m like, “Hey baby, I’m looking at you through my curls” “You wanna dance with me?” – I hope this is what you hoped for because our relationship’s totally on the rocks.
