GMMore 2067: Were These Famous Body Parts Preserved?

Welcome to Good Mythical More. Let’s talk about historical figures and their body parts. But first, let’s donate $1,000 to St. Jude children’s research hospital. St. Jude works to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Yes. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude during treatment, for treatment, for anything during that time. So please join us in giving at stjude.org, wonderful organization. Thank you for being your mythical best and for hanging out with us. Preserved body parts. Preserved? My favorite kind of body part. Some historical figures, some peeps you may know, have body parts that have been preserved for reasons. Okay. And so I’m gonna give you the figurehead and then a list of possible body parts. And you’re gonna guess, which is correct, that they preserved. Okay. I will give you a little factoid. Alright, alright. Napoleon Bonaparte. Mm-hmm. A is thumb. B, femur fragments. Okay. C, small penis. Small penis. Just a small one though. He kept the large one. D, none of the above. Are these on the thing or do we have to remember them? Zack? Well, don’t, not you’re not going to be excited about it. Have them on the thing if you’re just, if your memory sucks I could put them on the thing, man, it’s just four things to remember. If you can’t remember four things, I’m actually Do you know how easy busy right now. your job is? I am doing other things right now. All you do is sit at a desk with your friend and eat crap. I mean. Oh, so you’re talking about yourself. Why don’t you I thought you were about to say all Zack does is sit at a desk. No, I am pointing fingers. Thumb, femur, small penis, none of the above. Thank you for that, Zack. I know that took a lot out of you, but uh, and now he’s communicating with us. He put a sad face. Hey, that, hey, we draw the line. You can not communicate to us through this screen. Well, where would it be? Where is it preserved, Stevie? Probably in some liquid. This particular thing is privately owned by Evan Latimer, who inherited from her father. Who inherited from her father. That’s not right! Who had won it in an auction in 1977 for $3,000. $3,000. That information is helpful. Yeah. That’s why I’m saying it has to be the femur. I changed my, from the femur to the penis. It is small penis. Oh, yes, a penis. It’s not, hey, what’s the certification of said small penis? It’s, what do you mean? How do we know it’s Napoleon? Yeah. Did he sign it? Oh, there are apparently a lot of historical papers according to Davin. Yeah. it has the French tip circumcision. How would? So the dude dies and they just, did they divvy him up or did everybody just want the small penis? Did they what? Did they divvy him up entire. Oh divvy his body up. We read that there was an autopsy and it was removed during the autopsy. We’re going to have to remove this for science and auction. Beethoven. What was preserved ? His hand, his ear or his skull? His hand, his ear, or his skull. Well, obviously the ear would be the most prized thing. It’s like, I’ve Beethoven’s ear, the perfect ear. But you play music with your hands and you think music with your skull. He was hearing impaired, wasn’t he? Which was one of the things that made it so amazing that he was so incredibly capable of what he did. Somebody’s got his ear, huh? Yeah. Okay. All right. All right. I think it’s the hand. What do you think? I went with B, an ear which says “bear” together. Okay. His skull. Oh, really? Fragments of his skull were preserved and are currently on loan to the Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies at San Jose State University. San Jose State has finally got something to be proud of. Yeah, that’s strange, I mean if I was there and they ask, if I wanted to see skull fragments from Beethoven, I’d be like, yeah, that’s kinda cool. Heck yeah, man. Exactly, but is that more cool than seeing like a handwritten symphony from Beethoven? You know what I’m saying? It’s like. Well, they probably have that as well, but that’s not what this more is about. If you had to choose one or the other, which one would you be more interested in seeing, is what I’m asking. Wow. That’s a good question. I’ve always had this dream to like one day, have a room in my house that you get to walk in and be like, there’s some Beethoven skull fragments. And there’s, Napoleon’s very small penis. You are talking about a private museum. Yeah, it’s a little bit of a dream of mine. As I get old and crotchety that there’ll be like a room like that. Mm-hmm. I don’t have any specimens at this point. So now I have to think about this. I think I’m going skull because it’s a little creepier because the lighting in there is going to be very dim. I’d like to see the symphony, I mean, his handiwork. Buddha. Buddha. His blood, his tooth, his hand, or none of the above? Blood? This is tricky, Tooth. Because I don’t know exactly when the Buddha lived, but it feels like the kind of thing that you just might not even really know exactly who he was. Do you know what I’m saying? That was a long time ago. Forgot about this. Yeah, thank you for that. You earned it. Astute observation, Rhett. Thank you for that astute observation there. Blood, tooth, hand. So it could be alleged, alleged body part. I would call this a relic. A spiritual relic. Could be any of these. I mean, the Catholics really got the relics online. Was Buddha Catholic? For a short, for a time. For a time, man. He went through his Catholic phase. Everybody does. All right. What do you think it is? I went with D because I think that he ascended. And so his body was never, Oh, oh crap. found. I mean, I know Jesus ascended, but I think Buddha also ascended. I think if you’re really awesome, you ascend, But you might, I’m planning on it. I’m saying tooth, but I agree with Rhett. So I’m saying it’s a baby tooth. Tooth is correct. A follower reportedly took the tooth and other effects from his ashes. The tooth is currently enshrined at The Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Kandy? With a K. Okay. So Buddha didn’t, he did not like go into the clouds. Yeah. Right? Yeah. He did in one way or another. Do we have a picture of this tooth or any of these things we’ve talked about? We do not. We just have to imagine it. Well, you can Google it I believe. Oh. Well, I’m not going to ask Twinkle fingers to do it. I mean, his hands are full. Vladimir Lenin, A, his entire body. B, his brain. C, his facial hair. D none of the above. I keep hearing that line from the The Big Lebowski where he refers to Vladimir Iliy- He says his full name, and I can’t remember it, but that’s what I remember, brain, body, body, entire body. All right. Brain. Is that right? I don’t know if it was him, but I know there’s some world leader is completely like, the whole body is still around. I don’t know if it’s Lenin or not. It’s him. And it lies in a glass case in Moscow’s Red Square. Mm-hmm. It’s like a Sleeping Beauty situation. He looks great. Does he look great? He’s looking great. When I went to a temple in Thailand and they had a revered monk in a glass case. And I’m still not clear on how much of that is a real person and how much of that was just like a rendering. But they said it was him. So I believe them. Do you want to be shadow boxed? No. No. I think it’s strange. I feel like that could be a service. Shadow box. We can get like, somebody who’s already doing shadow boxing to begin shadow boxing people. Prop me up by the juke box when I die, man. Fill my boots up with sand. Joe Duffie, right? Diffie Diffie, Joe Diffie died, and they didn’t do it. They didn’t do that. They just buried him. Did they? Did you verify that? He’s not propped up by jukebox? I mean, he asked them to do that. He wrote a whole song about it. I think it was legally binding and they didn’t do it. Okay. I’m going to. Can you Google that? I mean, we really need to know where is Joe Diffie’s body. We need to visit his grave. D I F F E we need to exhume him and prop him up next to the jukebox. Oh, and what is that? Is that a penis? Joe Diffie’s penis. Joe Diffie’s penis. That’s Napoleon’s weiner. Are you kidding? It looks like That is the French tip then. I don’t know which part is which. That’s why ridged condoms were invented in the first place. Because some people needed it for a snug fit. What happened to Joe Diffie? What happened to Joe Diffie? First of all I feel bad that we’ve talked about him in this way because he only died last year. So it’s a little too soon to talk about. No, I just want to know. exhuming someone. Where’s his body. I don’t know. Where’s Joe Diffie’s body? Where’s Joe Diffie buried? He’s buried in Davidson County, Tennessee. But was he propped up by a juke box? All right, let’s have another question while we wait for it. Okay I am going to flip things around. So I’m going to give you the body part that was preserved. And then you have to guess from a list who matches that body part that was preserved. So, hair is the first one. Your choices are Abraham Lincoln, Marilyn Monroe, Frederick Douglas, none of the above. What’re you saying? I said Marilyn Monroe. I agree with that. Cause I think it was easy to do. There was a hairdresser who just cut her hair and kept it. It wasn’t like an authorized thing. Oh! Abraham Lincoln. Oh, Really? Abraham Lincoln’s hair is where? Where is it? Some of his hair and skull fragments are housed at the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Silver Spring, Maryland. Oh my gosh! Skull fragments. Do you know what time it is? Not a sponsor. It’s all good! Let’s talk about that. Be your mythical best. Smell of that. That’s it. There we go. The last quarterly collect bottom of the year. Rhett & Link plushies are here. They talk. You can only get that quarterly or annual plan. If you’re not already in the monthly plan then get in. As you can see, we can. Okay. This one’s really cool. Okay. His last breath. What? Is it in, like, a jar? Mm-hmm. Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison or William Colgate. I mean Steve jobs, it just seems like that just wouldn’t be copacetic. It’s like the dude’s dying, you got a jar up to his face? Like it just doesn’t seem like that could happen in modern times. Thomas Edison, Yeah, the jars are not as good as they used to be. Colgate. It’s just not something that you would do to Steve Jobs, but Thomas Edison might request it for like some sort of, Cause he was a little strange. Well, they’re all I’m sure. All three of these guys were strange. Colgate. I mean, what did he invent in his spare time? He wasn’t all clean, like toothpaste. You know what I’m saying? What? I don’t know anything about Colgate, but he might have a dark side that involves breathing. He has a college named after him. That occasionally makes it to the big dance. All right. I’m going to give my answer here. I think maybe we’re going to agree on this. Thomas Edison Got to be Thomas Edison. “Bring the jar, this is my last breath.” Yeah, it’s Thomas Edison, but the legend has it that Henry Ford asked Thomas Edison’s son to capture his friend’s last breath in the test tube that now sits on display in The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Do me a solid before you pass. It’s leaked since then, guys. No way. Ford’s like, he made his own museum. And then he got so fixated on it that he starts like overstepping his bounds with his friends like, Oh, you’re dying? Can you do a little something for me? This is actually, you know what? You’re giving me an idea. I’m going to just have a breath museum. Last breath museum. Sponsored by Colgate. I’ll get in on that. Last breath, sponsored by Colgate. I got a little clap on that. Pretty good, pretty good. It’s a good joke, boy. It makes me feel like a bad standup comedian. When you get clapping. You reacted like Ringo reacts when people clap around him. You’re like, oh, oh, oh? Are they clapping for me? It was good. You earned it, man. To get the Rhett & Link plushies join Third Degree quarterly or annual by December 31st.
