We’re gonna be smelling these batters man. Man I, I, I am a… I’m a batter eating buddy. You’re a bowl licker? I am a bowl scraper. I’ve always been a bowl licker. Me and my Nana used to make all types of stuff. Well- Cakes. I was a bowl- And then I would just, I would scrape the bowl. I was a bowl licker too, I loved it. And then I had children, and they became the bowl lickers. And so I let- And so you, dad gets into the bowl first? Lily went through a baking phase. She wasn’t really that much of a bowl licker, I don’t know why, so I was like, oh give it to me. So you’re saying your kids aren’t bowl lickers? Yeah, it’s just me. They didn’t get that gene. Every time I get down there, the bowl’s been licked. Mm, I love it. Course is that gonna help me? I don’t know if you’re a bowl smeller. I’ve never just, That’s a totally different thing. I’ve never smelled the batters. Let’s bring the first thing in. Beyond just eating them. That stinks. Okay. Is that good? I mean it’s… What was it, 3, 2, 1? Did you say “Is that real?” Is that good? Oh. Yeah I’m gonna give you a 3, 2, 1. I mean it stunk at first, but I’m still smelling eel I think. Give it to me again. It doesn’t smell great. I think it smells really good. Smells weird to me. Okay. 3, 2, 1. It’s just white cake, Cookie dough? like birthday cake. It’s just like cake dough, cake batter. Is cake- Like regular- Cookie dough’s not a batter at all is it? It’s just like, we’re gonna make this yellow cake. Yeah, it’s yellow cake batter. Yeah. Oh, it’s yellow cake batter? Can I see it? There we go. That’s good man. Oh. That is a good- Now that I look at it. That’s a solid. And none of these have raw eggs so if you wanted to Oh I want it. bowl lick, you could. Oh yeah. I think I miss the eggs though. You know what, Tastes a lot better than it smells. I’m a cooker, but I’m not much of a baker. I’m a out-of-a-box baker just fine, but a original bake, that’s hard. That’s hard! I don’t think I’ve ever baked anything besides cookies. Or like brownies, no? You know a brownie box situation? Maybe a brownie every once in a while but like, I don’t know, something about… Well you know I don’t have anything to add to this conversation. Just putting it in the oven and… I don’t know. I feel like I want to be more involved. You wanna start being a baker? Well I did start thinking about making pies, you know? That’s a good idea. At the beginning of 2020 Talk to Trevor about it. Trevor’s a baker. When I started learning how to cook things I was like, oh I’m gonna make pies, and then I just, I never did. I never made pies. Okay let’s… Next one. I’m a good blender, I think that part of being a baker could be good. Mm. Is that one scentless to you? It’s very subtle. Really subtle. Okay. I got a guess. You ready? 3, 2, 1. It’s subtle. Red velvet. No. Red velvet cake batter? I’m just going with chocolate, I don’t know. It’s real subtle. Close. I got some chocolate, but I thought red velvet is chocolate, is it not? Red velvet is chocolate with red dye added to it I think. I love it, it’s my favorite. I wish I knew what it was. But I’m not a baker, I’m a cooker. This is not red velvet but chocolate is the correct path, and if you were to add a descriptor to that- Oh, it’s German chocolate. It would not be that. Dark chocolate. Yes. Dark chocolate cake is a thing? Yes. I didn’t know that was a thing. It’s dark chocolate brownie batter. Brownie batter. Man. You didn’t know dark chocolate cake was a thing? No. He’s just licking the bowls. I’m just a bowl licker. I don’t see it unless it’s in a bowl. What’s the main… ‘Cause Lily baked and then did Lando take up baking? Lando started baking a little bit, yeah you’re right. And what’s the… What were the main baked goods during these time periods for you. There were cupcakes in different shaped pans. Oh those special cupcakes? There were also cupcakes in mugs. She’d make individual stuff. Which I didn’t like that ’cause there was no bowl to lick. You- Mm, wow. What about the thing that she mixed? Beyond that what else did she, I mean she started making macaroons. Macarons? I don’t know the difference. She got very advanced. Beyond that I can’t remember- You know because I don’t like many baked goods I only took interest in the bowl. I wouldn’t actually eat the baked goods, I would just lick the bowl. You’re kidding. No. No, I’m not. She didn’t make it for me. She also didn’t make it for herself a lot of things that she would make, it was just the process of making it. Hmm. She’d eat a little bit right then and then she’d never eat it again, it was just fun to make. Before we taste- or smell, the next batter. Talk about something fun to make. This smells just like the first one. No, it doesn’t. It smells subtle though. Hmm. It’s a light batter. I got a guess that feels good. Link, ready? Mm. Yeah. 3, 2, 1. Vanilla. Devil’s food. You think it’s chocolate? Well, it’s like that angel cake, or whatever that . Well that’s- Is that different? Devil’s food is… I’m thinking about the angel’s… I’m thinking about the angels. Neither of you are correct. It’s a really light, it’s a light batter. You… Light colored. Yes, but you said something about your guess, that is was a fun guess? Or something like that? No I just felt that it was gonna be right. Oh. Well that wasn’t right. Because I smelled a little bit of the smell that you get when you’re eating like- Funfetti. Yeah. It was funfetti? Oh. Look at that, funfetti cake batter. I mean it looks like icing in here. Man that sure is fun, you know when they came up with that, the first person that came up with that, was like, oh this is gonna be fun. Mm. Yeah this one’s not as good. It’s got little candy bits. What is the actual flavor? Premium cake- Funfetti is- Isn’t it a newer flavor? It’s just premium cake and with candy bits. I’d say- Like in our lifetime? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah you didn’t have funfetti in the 50s. Oh. 1989. Well, yeah. In my lifetime. In my lifetime. In my lifetime. Yeah, and your lifetime. Barely. Right? Yeah. Alright. And we’re gonna sniff some more batter. Want it in your hands? Oh yes, thank you. Oh now, oh now. Oh? What? What just happened? This is some watery batter, what the crap. What happened? You spilled. “What happened?” “WhAt HaPpEnEd?” Wha? “WhaA hapPenN?” Okay. Listen, I don’t want to say what this smells like. Say it. But it smells like a bodily fluid. Which one? A pleasure one. No it doesn’t I can’t get it out of my head now. That’s literally what it smells like guys. You think this smells like man milk? Yes. It’s gross. That’s my guess. Don’t make me say it. Link thinks it’s just man milk. I don’t. And it’s all over my hand now. Well if your man milk 3… smells like butterscotch, 2, oh. ’cause that’s what my guess is, butterscotch. Those are the two guesses? Yeah. I mean before you said anything I was like, this should smell… I would think that you would get this based on the smell, ’cause it should have a stronger smell but neither one of you- Salty. are correct at all. Is it caramel? Is it like a- No. It’s a fruit. No it’s not. It’s a fruit? It’s man fruit. Banana. Pineapple. Cherry. Pineapple. What? Pineapple upside-down. Pineapple upside-down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Aw man, and look. Oh gosh, yeah you’re right. Ew. You really had the visual set up and everything. Aw man, you’re not gonna get that out of your couch. You know, that’s a good cake the pineapple- Oh bring that in, bring that in. Look how good that looks. Perfectly moist. So you’re telling me- It’s the buzz word today. Are you telling me that if your daughter had made this thing and set it out, and it looked just like that, you’d be like, “nah, not interested”? How do you do that, how are you not interested in this? Well I wouldn’t tell her what it smelled like, if that’s what you’re asking. No like if you saw that cake with the pineapple dripping down in the top, you’re not interested in that? Not interested. What are you interested in? Ice creams, pies, cookies of a certain variety. But like, if this was the only option? Doughs and batters, mostly. Well I guess what I’m saying is that, yeah if there’s a really good pie next to this I’m probably gonna choose the pie, but if this is the only option in the house I don’t understand how you don’t eat it. That part of my brain doesn’t work, I don’t have a sweet tooth. I wouldn’t say no to this. I don’t have a sweet tooth in that way. You know, you don’t have to eat dessert. All of your favorite foods that you’re known for liking are all sweet, and you just said you don’t have a sweet tooth. That’s weird isn’t it? Well I guess I do have a sweet tooth. But I have a specifically sweet tooth. It has to be cereals, ice creams, batters, and butters. Sweet butters. So if you’re hungry and this is in the house what do you eat instead of it? If this was sitting- I can’t have cake in- I can’t have a baked good in my house. Yeah, that’s not a temptation for me. Every time I walk in the kitchen I’m gonna be like, okay. So I have to send it home with people, to put it in places, I have to lock it up, Yeah. I can’t just have it out. Yeah. And my whole family’s like that. If there’s something in there, it’s gone in a day. Nothing lasts more than a day at my house. Full cake? Gone, all the way. We’ll all four just sit there, it’d be 2 a.m. It’s just like, not even talking. I think that’s why you were never threatened to have me over. You never ate anything. Exactly. I thought you were Swedish though. Oh. That’s why you never got any food. We’re gonna smell another batter. Hands out. You want this one Link? Oh yeah, yeah. I hate to say it, but this one smells like what you thought the other smelled like. I know now that I’ve- now that- that’s all I- baby batter. But this one really does. Oh, God. This is not good guys. It’s not that unpleasant, Stevie. We are ruining- Once you know what this is, Yeah. I just… We’re ruining something for us. I mean it’s pretty been ruined but, You wanna try and guess? Hold on. I want- Mm. Somebody else has gotta verify. [Crew member] What? I’m pretty convinced on this one. I think I got it. 3, 2, 1. Semen. [Echoing Voice] I hope that’s not too risque. He’s talking about sailors. Smells like a sailor. It sounds like a group of dudes, who’ve been out on the ocean. You know, like just a group of them. I mean it could just smell like cake batter. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Mm. You got a hint for us? This is not really a cake, it’s more of a bread that you’d have perhaps at like, depending on what kind of Southern restaurant you’d go to. Oh, it’s just Bisquick. No, it’s… You put butter, you butter it and- Toast batter. Huh? Toast. Batter. Oh it’s cornbread. Yeah it’s cornbread. Cornbread batter. I’ll never look at cornbread the same. Southern cornbread. It’s not the South you’re thinking about. Corn off the cob, if you know what I mean. Yeah now it smells like cornbread. A little bit more. I can’t taste it now though. And that’s Southern cornbread which again, is very- Oh! Is really cakey, really cakey cornbread. This tastes good. Which I like a more cornmeal-y cornbread.
