[Link] Welcome to Good Mythical More. – [Link] You ever been in a Dollar Tree? – [Link] Well, there are some stuff that you get quite a steal – [Link] when compared to getting at, say, – [Link] Ralphs or Wal-Mart. – [Link] We’re going to see if we can explore that. – [Link] We are, you know, we are going to explore it. – [Rhett] Well, let’s see if we can explore it – [Rhett] by exploring it. – [Link] Let’s see how much money we can save. – [Rhett] But first, – [Rhett] I could be saying anything – [Rhett] because my mouth is covered up. – [Rhett] We’re going to give $50 to Lulu – [Rhett] because Lulu has been repping that merch – [Rhett] out in the wild. – [Rhett] #Merchicality. – [Rhett] We found you, Lulu. – [Link] People love that gorilla shirt sweatshirt, you know? – [Rhett] It’s a classic, man. It’s a classic. – [Link] That’s it. That’s it. – [Link] I got the original picture at the creative house. – [Rhett] Your $50 is in the mail. – [Rhett] We’re mailing it now. – [Link] I slowly burn it, like a candle. – [Link] Smells good. – [Rhett] Yes, but we should probably talk about that – [Rhett] before you start burning. – [Rhett] I think technically, my dad owns it – [Rhett] because he was the photographer. – [Link] Oh, wow. – [Rhett] You know? – [Link] I keep all our stuff, man. – [Link] You know, I’m gonna do that. – [Rhett] So, you said Dollar Tree, right? – [Rhett] Dollar Tree. Everything at the Dollar Tree is a $1.25? – [Rhett] Is that what I was told? – [Link] Apparently. – [Rhett] Okay. Link, you lost the main thing. – [Rhett] So you get to go first. We’ll go back and forth. – [Rhett] You’re try to pick the things – [Rhett] that you would want to get – [Rhett] at Dollar Tree to actually – [Stevie] Yeah, do you want to – [Stevie] Why don’t you fully explain, – [Stevie] we did like a teaser headline, but like. – [Rhett] Oh, so yes. – [Rhett] So we have items that are sold at both – [Rhett] The Dollar Tree and at Ralphs/Walmart. – [Rhett] You know, like regular grocery stores. – [Rhett] And you’re trying to choose the things – [Rhett] that you think will save you the most money – [Rhett] if you were to get them at Dollar Tree. – [Rhett] So at the end, we’ll price them out – [Rhett] and see what the difference is. – [Link] And we have White Castle. – [Link] White Castle, easy to heat, fun to eat. – [Link] Classic cheese sliders. – [Link] There’s four in this thing for a $1.25? – [Link] Wowzers. – [Link] Rhett, tell them about this, – [Link] because I don’t know what that is. – [Rhett] It is a brown sugar bubble tea, Lady Boba. – [Link] A can of boba? – [Rhett] A can of boba. – [Link] Are there actual bobas in the bottom? – [Rhett] I don’t know, – [Rhett] we’d have to pop it to find out. – [Link] Yeah, there has to be because there’s – [Link] Oh, we got to find that out – [Rhett] I’m sure there is. – [Link] Okay. We’ll have a glass. – [Link] Next, we have Planters sea salt and vinegar peanuts. – [Link] It’s got one half of a peanut on the thing. – [Rhett] Life size. – [Link] That’s weird. I’ve never seen that before. – [Rhett] Yeah. Life size peanut. – [Link] One little – [Rhett] I think it is so you can – [Rhett] see the flavoring on it. – [Rhett] You see some salt on it. – [Rhett] See some vinegar on it. – [Link] All right. What’s next, Rhett? – [Rhett] We’ve got these Sweet Tart Ropes. – [Rhett] Which, boy, we’ve had those before, – [Rhett] and they are really, really nice. – [Link] They are a sleeper hit in the Neal home. – [Link] Whenever we decide to treat ourselves – [Link] with some candy. – [Link] This is the stuff we get. – [Rhett] You don’t get Cherry Punch? – [Link] No, we get the rainbow ones. – [Link] Those are the best ones. – [Link] But a $1.25 for that. Not bad at all. – [Rhett] Do you know what you typically pay – [Rhett] for that, when you go to the grocery store? – [Link] I’m not going to tell you yet. – [Link] We got some Takis Fuego. – [Link] We know all about that. – [Link] And we got some French style green beans. – [Link] I’m just picking it up a little bit. – [Rhett] Yeah, I appreciate the pace. – [Link] And then this right here. – [Link] I know you’re excited about this. – [Rhett] Individually wrapped English muffin, Jimmy Dean. – [Rhett] I would get the biscuit, – [Rhett] and not the English muffin – [Rhett] if it were me. – [Link] But apparently you don’t get that deal. – [Link] And Rock Star energy drink, – [Link] which is still around. – [Link] Totally, dude. – [Link] All right. – [Rhett] Is that a slogan you remember? – [Link] There was that song Party Like a Rock Star. – [Link] And then it would be, like, totally, dude. – [Rhett] What part was that? – [Rhett] Party Like a Rock Star. Totally, dude. – [Rhett] Wow. How did I miss that cultural moment? – [Rhett] It sounds like something – [Rhett] I should have been awake for – [Link] Somebody tell me who made that song – [Stevie] Shop Boyz. – [Link] Shop Boyz. – [Rhett] Oh, of course. – [Link] Totally, dude. – [Rhett] The Shop Boyz. – [Link] I think because this is such a big box. – [Link] There’s four freaking sliders in here – [Link] as opposed to this just being one slider. – [Stevie] How did you determine – [Stevie] that Link’s going first? – [Rhett] Because he lost. – [Stevie] Oh, okay. So we’re not playing – [Stevie] Catch the Fish with Grandad? – [Link] No, we’re not. It’s over. – [Link] It’s done. We’re never doing it again. – [Stevie] Is it because it was, like, – [Stevie] a little awkward when you – [Link] I forgot how to play. – [Stevie] Yeah, okay. – [Link] All right. So I’m taking this. – [Rhett] Good choice. I believe that was a good choice. – [Link] When was the last time – [Link] you ate at an actual White Castle? – [Rhett] They’re tough to find. – [Rhett] They’re tough to find because they’re so small. – [Rhett] You can drive right by them. – [Link] And when you do find, and eat it, – [Link] it’s not good to me. – [Link] But at home, in a box. – [Rhett] It depends on what mood you’re in. – [Link] This is how it should be. – [Link] It shouldn’t be – [Rhett] Well, it can be that way every day. – [Rhett] It can be that way every day. – [Rhett] I could have those, listen – [Link] Turn your home into a castle. – [Rhett] You could bring me koozies. – [Rhett] I could bring you White Castle. – [Rhett] We can have a little deal. – [Link] Hide them all around my house? – [Rhett] Yeah, put one in your buttcrack. – [Link] I’ve chosen this. – [Rhett] Where am I’m going to save some money? – [Rhett] Where am I going to save some money? – [Link] $1.25 – [Rhett] I think I’m gonna save some money on – [Rhett] some peanuts. – [Link] Nuts are expensive. – [Rhett] You’ll pay quite a bit for some nuts – [Rhett] because it doubles as a musical instrument. – [Rhett] A lot of people don’t know that. – [Rhett] But I once played the peanuts – [Rhett] for a few nights in Phoenix. – [Rhett] I got stuck in Phoenix – [Rhett] and had to pay for my gas – [Rhett] by playing the nuts – [Link] I mean, what else is there? – [Rhett] With a local Doobie Brothers cover band. – [Link] To play with your nuts. – [Link] I am going to choose the Lady Boba – [Link] because I mean, that is a fancy, fancy package. – [Link] And I like how Lady Boba – [Link] has a gray streak in her hair. – [Link] That is sexy. – [Rhett] She’s speaking your language. – [Rhett] She may be in your demographic. – [Link] That’s right, and you can get away with, like, – [Link] at least charging $2.50, maybe over $3 – [Link] for this at any other place – [Link] because it’s around the other stuff. – [Link] It’s not in a Dollar Tree. – [Link] When it’s not in a Dollar Tree. – [Rhett] What are they charging? – [Link] You charge more for it. – [Link] When stuff’s in a Dollar Tree, – [Link] it’s just like, well, first of all, – [Link] you know, it’s a $1.25. – [Link] Second of all, it’s like, – [Link] you feel like it shouldn’t only be a $1.25 – [Link] It’s like, the whole environment – [Link] is very much affordable. – [Rhett] Boy, you know – [Rhett] I made up that memory about me – [Rhett] playing the nuts – [Rhett] in a Doobie Brothers cover band – [Rhett] in Phoenix. – [Rhett] But the more I think about it, – [Rhett] the more I think about – [Rhett] that would be a pretty cool thing to do. – [Link] It feels real. – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah. I mean, I feel like because, – [Rhett] you know, this happens with people. – [Link] Listen to me nut shake. – [Rhett] You know, sometimes killers – [Rhett] and criminals in general, – [Rhett] people who do bad stuff, – [Rhett] they will make up an alternative timeline. – [Rhett] They will make up, just some of them. – [Rhett] The bad ones, will make up an alternative timeline – [Rhett] of what actually happened, – [Rhett] and then they will believe that’s what happened. – [Rhett] And so, if I start right – [Rhett] Oh, yeah, you do. – [Rhett] You’re a revisionist history guy. – [Rhett] If I start believing that I once spent – [Rhett] three days in Phoenix in 2004 – [Rhett] playing the nuts – [Rhett] in a Doobie Brothers cover band. – [Rhett] And I talk about it all the time – [Rhett] and I think about it all the time. – [Rhett] I believe I can make it a reality for me, – [Rhett] and it would be no different – [Rhett] than if I had actually done it. – [Link] Need a glass. – [Rhett] Well, you see, what was happening was, – [Rhett] is I came into town and because Phoenix is so hot, – [Rhett] my car overheated and, – [Rhett] yeah I was driving a car at the time – [Rhett] and my car overheated – [Rhett] and I drove right into a little mechanic – [Rhett] and I was like, Oh, he’s was like – [Rhett] Oh, your radiators cracked – [Rhett] He said, it’s going to be $475. – [Rhett] We got to replace the whole manifold. – [Link] Oh, wow. – [Rhett] I don’t really know what a manifold is. – [Link] I bet they didn’t have the part. – [Rhett] I don’t like to haggle, he says. – [Rhett] We got to order the part from Tucson. – [Link] Bet it’s going to take at least – [Rhett] Three days. – [Link] To get it in and – [Rhett] And I’ve got no money. But what did I have? – [Rhett] A package of nuts. – [Rhett] So I went to the nearest watering hole, – [Rhett] is what I call a bar. – [Rhett] And there were these guys getting up – [Rhett] called the Boobie Brothers. – [Rhett] It was a Doobie Brothers cover band. – [Rhett] But they all, it was all men. – [Rhett] But they did a thing where they had low cut vests – [Rhett] and they all wore little push up bras – [Rhett] to create a little cleavage – [Rhett] because it was a joke. – [Rhett] The Boobie Brothers. We’re the Boobie Brothers. – [Rhett] Look at our cleavage. – [Rhett] And I was like, well, I can do that too. – [Rhett] And so I said, Hey, fellas, you need a nut player? – [Rhett] And they were like, – [Rhett] Well, actually we were just talking about that – [Link] Show us how it pushed together. – [Link] You got a little – [Rhett] I got a little – [Link] Don’t show that. – [Rhett] Yeah, yeah. That’s not a microphone. – [Rhett] So anyway. Yeah. – [Rhett] So I played the first night and I was a little off – [Rhett] because I kept thinking they were in three four – [Rhett] and they were in four four – [Rhett] most of the time. – [Rhett] Because he posted the Boobie Brother songs – [Rhett] because most of the Doobie Brother songs – [Rhett] are in four four. – [Rhett] So I would be like one, two, three, – [Rhett] one, two, three, one, two. – [Rhett] And they would just look at me like – [Link] Yeah. – [Rhett] By the third night I was – [Rhett] one, two, three, four. – [Link] Yeah, yeah, but then it was too late? – [Rhett] I made $125 every night. – [Link] They would tip you individually? – [Rhett] So by the last night I was at $375. – [Rhett] Well that put me approximately, – [Rhett] what did I say? ((Laughing)) – [Link] Four, four? – [Rhett] $425. Yeah, yeah, yeah. $50 short. – [Link] At what point did you murder the man – [Link] pretending to be? – [Rhett] Oh, I killed all the Boobie Brothers. – [Rhett] Every one of them. – [Rhett] I’ll tell you the rest of the story, – [Rhett] how I made that $50 – [Rhett] after I pick my next item. – [Link] Isn’t it? Oh, it is your turn. – [Rhett] It’s still my turn. – [Rhett] Link, everybody loves Rock Star Energy. – [Link] Totally, dude. – [Link] One, two, three. One, two, three. – [Link] One, two, three, one, two, three. – [Rhett] If you’re a young musician coming up, – [Rhett] try to write a song in three, four. – [Rhett] Mix things up. – [Link] Um, Takis. – [Link] I think ropes are more expensive than Takis. – [Link] I think this, – [Link] I’m going to take this sandwich now. – [Link] I’m just a sandwich boy today. – [Rhett] So the way I made that extra $50 – [Rhett] is I was like, – [Rhett] I’ve been playing these nuts every night, – [Rhett] and I’ve been eating just enough nuts – [Rhett] to sustain myself. – [Rhett] And the Boobie Brothers, let me – [Rhett] suckle the teat, so to speak, – [Rhett] which is really just get a water – [Rhett] out of the water bottle cooler. – [Rhett] So I was watering nuts for three days. – [Rhett] One nut per hour. – [Link] Didn’t those nuts, like, – [Link] really take a beating in that thing? – [Link] Did it become dust? – [Rhett] Nuts are harder than you think. – [Rhett] Especially, I look like I’m playing very hard, – [Rhett] but I’m actually playing very gentle – [Rhett] because I’m giving, but my head moves a lot. – [Rhett] And by the third night I had eaten – [Rhett] one nut per hour during my waking hours, – [Rhett] which was about, I was awake for about – [Rhett] 16 hours a day. – [Rhett] So I’d eat approximately 16 times 3 nuts, – [Rhett] whatever that is, do the math. – [Rhett] And I was left with enough nuts. – [Rhett] And it’s funny, – [Rhett] the more nuts you take out of your nut shaker, – [Rhett] the louder it gets – [Rhett] because they travel more distance – [Rhett] to hit the other side. – [Rhett] So I was actually getting better – [Rhett] coming into my groove. – [Rhett] But then I was stuck $50 short – [Rhett] for the manifold and I said, – [Rhett] I’ve got approximately 52 nuts left in here. – [Rhett] If I sell these nuts for a dollar each – [Rhett] out on the street. – [Rhett] If I ((Laughing)) – [Rhett] If I sell these nuts for a dollar each – [Rhett] out on the street, – [Rhett] I’ll have $2 to get home – [Rhett] in my freshly made manifold car. – [Link] So did you kill them – [Link] or did they choke on these nuts? ((Laughing)) – [Rhett] Oh, well, that was the method of murder. – [Rhett] So anyway, I did that. – [Rhett] I used my sweet talking – [Rhett] out on the streets of Phoenix – [Rhett] and sold nuts for $1 a piece. – [Rhett] Took quite a lot of coaxing – [Rhett] and I made it out of Phoenix. – [Rhett] Quite a story I’ve got. – [Link] Quite a story, true. – [Link] It’s your choice. – [Rhett] It’s got to be the ropes. – [Rhett] It’s got to be the ropes. – [Link] There’s cream in them there ropes. – [Link] That’s a good rope. – [Rhett] A good rope. – [Link] The consistency is so good. – [Link] I don’t know why this was so good. – [Rhett] So much better than a Twiz. – [Link] I’m going to stick you with the beans, – [Link] and I’m going to go with the Takis. – [Link] All right, Stevie, let us know. – [Stevie] Okay. Let’s see. – [Link] What’s the biggest steal? – [Link] And then I’m going to pour this – [Link] to see what the boba looks like. – [Rhett] Do it. – [Stevie] You chose the White Castle sliders, four sliders. – [Stevie] That’s a savings, if you were to go to Dollar Tree – [Stevie] of $3.61 – [Link] That’s the delta of $3.61? – [Rhett] Real big. I knew when you chose that – [Rhett] you chose the best item. – [Rhett] I was pissed. Did you see it on my face? – [Stevie] Lady Boba brown sugar bubble tea – [Stevie] is a savings of $5.75. – [Stevie] It’s because, you know, – [Stevie] when you see it in the Ralphs, – [Stevie] you’re just like, wow, – [Stevie] this is surrounded by Ralphs things. – [Link] I got to pay. – [Link] I got to pony up for this pricey beverage. – [Stevie] The Jimmy Dean sausage – [Stevie] and cheese English muffin is actually – [Stevie] only a savings of $0.31. – [Stevie] And then the Takis – [Stevie] are a savings of a $1.24 – [Rhett] How could you not have won? – [Stevie] And then Rhett, your nuts. – [Stevie] Savings of $3.52 – [Rhett] Not bad. Not bad. – [Stevie] Rock Star, a $1.24 – [Stevie] Sweet Tarts, $0.23 – [Rhett] $23, you mean? – [Stevie] And green beans, $0.94. – [Stevie] So, Rhett, your total savings was $5.93 – [Stevie] and Link almost double at $10.91 – [Rhett] Smart shopper, Link. – [Link] Let’s see if there’s boba in this thing. – [Link] Also, over at Sporked, I mean, – [Link] if you’re shopping Dollar Tree, – [Link] if you’re going in there, – [Link] you want to know what to buy. – [Link] Sporked has, like, ranked beverages, foods – [Rhett] The best stuff for back to school. – [Rhett] There are so many things – [Rhett] you can get at the Dollar Tree – [Rhett] and Sporked is just, I mean, – [Rhett] they’re taking that Dollar Tree – [Rhett] and they’re just picking everything off of it – [Rhett] and puting it on Sporked.com – [Link] This is interesting.
