Welcome to Good Mythical More. We are going to make the best fried chicken sandwich we can, but what if the other guy steals the ingredient we want? Oh snap! But first I gotta work up a sweat again. Jordan Myrick, come on in here. – [Jordan] Hello! We always want to make Jordan happy with our sandwiches or whatever we make. I love that. Cause Jordan likes to get so, so happy when we make the stuff that we make. Yeah, yeah! For them to eat. For them to eat. And then tell us which one is the best. It’ll be mine today. Ooh! I lost last time. You get to go first. I lost last time. How you doing, Jordan? I’m good. I’m really good. Are you a big chicken sandwich fan? I’m a huge chicken sandwich fan. I think fried chicken sandwiches are one of the most delicious things you could eat. Oh, okay. Pressure’s on. Yeah, I think that, I think, um, that’s one of the best things happening in the world right now. I agree. People are really trying hard about chicken sandwiches. Yeah, I think it’s really nice. Do you have a favorite fast food chicken sandwich? Well, I think we determined that on the show, so I don’t want to go against, go against what I said on the show. I love that one too. Yeah. And did I say? We don’t taste Chick-fil-A on the show. Did I say? I like that too. What did I say though? Even though it might be my favorite, I’m just gonna What did I say? – [Stevie] Give us a moment. Yeah. – [Stevie] We need to recall what you said. I think we may, we may, I think we may have said that like. Well, the Ch’King from Burger King well, was and then they discontinued it, took it away. I remember that was the one that we were thinking was the best. I think that was the answer. I mean, I want to believe that Popeyes is for us, because it feels like the right answer. I think Popeyes is the best. The spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes, I think, is chef’s kiss. It is great. It’s delicious. And it, and it brought about this, this, the whole chicken sandwich renaissance. Yes. It’s like the Michael Jordan of chicken sandwiches, right? I love that. You can’t underestimate the impact that Popeyes had on the game. That’s true. Now, this is not Popeyes. This is, this is, listen, okay, there’s not a lot of great options aesthetically for chicken patties at the grocery store, but these are some of the best we had. Okay. Okay. And this is, so we’re both starting with the same patty. And is that on here? Yeah. Uh, yeah. Even playing field. Good & Gather Chicken Breast Patties. Yes. So we’ll just go ahead and set that aside. We know we’re dealing with that. Alright, so now. We do have. Yeah, let’s go through everything we have here. Okay. Okay, so we’ve got. Just read, just read them, read them all. Well, okay. We’ve got. Thousand Island. Ken’s Steak House Sauce. Thousand Island. We’ve got Zesty Barbecue Sauce from Famous Dave. We’ve got Bread & Butter Pickle Chips. We’ve got some Dirty Dill Pickled Okra. We got hamburger buns. We got waffles. So this is a big decision here. The bread decision. – [Jordan] Sure. – [Link] Yes. – [Rhett] We’ve got some 365 Aged Asiago Cheese Spread. – [Link] Spread? – [Jordan] Spread. – [Rhett] We got some, just some sliced Havarti cheese, jalapeño. Good & Gathered Dill-licious pickle chopped salad. What? Trader Joe’s Southwestern Chopped Salad. So we’ve got some chopped salad options here. And we’ve got a Sriracha chili sauce and a buffalo style wing sauce. Delicious. I am going to stick with a burger bun. Okay. Going with the Francisco Deli Hamburger Bun. I love that. A foundational move. – [Stevie] I thought there was a shakeup to the Burger King chicken sandwiches. Most recently did. We did the Spicy Chicken Sandwich Taste Test, but no. You chose Burger King. Yeah, good. We did? – [Stevie] Yeah. All right. Wow, Burger King keeps coming, coming through strong. Okay. I mean, it’s looking very school lunchy at this point. We’ll get there though. I was told, Silaine told me this right before we started, that if I wanted to use two patties, I could. You can. So I would like to request a second patty. That’s the first thing I would like to do. Bold move. I love that. And then the second thing I would like to do is select. The waffle, right? Well, let’s see. Well, why would he pick the waffle? You’re not gonna pick the waffle. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. Yeah. So he can pick the waffle. Right? But what if I took the waffle? Yeah, ball in. It wouldn’t be great for me. But it wouldn’t be great for him either. But what am I going to do here? I’m definitely going to get a cheese. Yep. Which cheese am I going to take? They both look like they might be good. They’re both good. Everything on the board is good. It’s all Sporked picks. Everything is delicious. So really, you can’t go wrong. It’s more so just the sandwich you’re building. Just make a choice. Just go with your gut, man. Trust your gut. I feel like you have good instincts in general. Thousand Island. Yum! Thousand Island dressing? – [Jordan] I love Thousand Island dressing. – [Link] See. I have reasons, man. See. And, I’m nervous if I take these waffles, and I’m just saying. Okay, well you’ve taken them off the board. Oh, yeah, yeah. I was, I was showing it to the people. I just feel like. I actually don’t know what the rules are on this. The rules are. Whatever they are, he’ll break them. I’m not saying that I’m taking it. I was implying that I wasn’t taking it. Oh, okay. So I was kind of communicating. I’m just holding this gesture that it’s here. But I do think that moving forward, if you pull it off of the board, you’ve committed to it. Okay, fine. – Because. – It’s just behind you. There has to be, there has to be like a moment in which you’ve committed. Alright. I won’t take anything off anymore unless I’ve committed. If I do take that waffle off the board, I thought I was doing something to like, really hurt him, but he’s got, he’s gonna double down that thing, and that’s not. Why would you tell him that? He’s already thinking it. I can tell he’s already thinking it, so I’m not taking, I can’t take the waffle. I can’t. This is what I’ll say. This is what I’ll say. This is what I’ll say. I am going to I’m moving in for the sliced cheese because I think that is a better choice for my particular strategy. I love that. Okay. I love that. And you know, I know you like the, okay, the sliced cheese, you know, the block of cheese. So here we go. This is just. Do you have, oh you have a knife if you want the knife? Okay. All right. That was just a, that was a, what they call a visual joke. That was a bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I will now begin to slice my cheese. Perfect, okay. Because I have this waffle, it does make me want to go with something a little sweeter, but like, I mean, Famous Dave’s Sweet and Zesty Barbecue Sauce. It’s either that or the wing sauce. This cheese spread. I don’t want to not, I don’t want him to take my cheese and I’m really interested in this. So I’m going with the Aged Asiago Cheese Spread. I think that’s good. Good call, Link, because I would have definitely taken your cheese. Yeah. I know you wanted the cheese. Ooh. Is it strong? It’s so strong and cheesy. Oh yeah. Nice. This is that type of, this is like a. What you get in like a sausage holiday. Yes, like with a summer sausage in a basket. Summer sausage. And I’m gonna. Which side are you gonna? I think I’m gonna go on the bread. Okay. Cause it’s bigger than the. Okay. Oh, but it might mess up my. Oh, that’s a nice cheese. Is it good? It’s got a nice little spice to it. – Good. – Good gracious. Okay. I’m laying it on thick. I love that. All right, it’s your go, Rhett. Um, Southwestern Chopped Salad or the Dill-licious Pickle Chopped Salad. And if you read the rankings, you know that one of these salads, even though they’re both good, is better than the other. And I know you read the rankings. So pick the one that’s better. Rhett, pick the one that you have read is better. I think I’m remembering this from the rankings. But lemme see if that’s, that is indeed the, the direction that I want to go in at this point. Alright. In one sense, there’s not a, there’s not something up there that’s going to just completely undo everything for either one of us at this point. That’s true. There’s some things that I prefer not to have on my sandwich, but not something that if I get stuck with it, then I just know I’m going to lose. I think you could have one specific issue. You personally. No bread? No. You already have that issue. Oh. But I like the double down factor. I think that’s fun. I wouldn’t have thought of that. I gave him that idea. I know. Yep. What issue could I have that is a problem according to what you’re just saying? It has something to do with the fact that I already have Thousand Island. I wish I had Thousand Island. I know, it’s really good. Ken’s. I went with the Thousand Island because it’s the most like, like a comeback sauce. Yes! I got really excited about that because that’s what a lot of people don’t talk about that. That’s what my family eats, comeback dressing. I recently invented my own comeback sauce. Tell me about it. Well, it’s just, you know, it’s a mix of different things, including mayonnaise and ketchup being the two main ingredients, which is essentially what Thousand Island is. Yeah. But what’s the difference? Uh, it just, you can say that you made it. Oh, okay. Yeah. My difference is I put savory dill pickles instead of sweet pickles. Oh. In my comeback dressing instead of sweet pickles like in Thousand Island. And then also my family does a little bit of lemon and grated onion. That’s the secret, you grate an onion into it. Wow. Unreal. Do you worcestershire? I worcestershire, yes. I worcestershire as well. Comeback sauce. I’m gonna go with the Good & Gathered Dill-licious Pickle Chopped Salad. He reads the rankings. I mean, I think that’s. – [Stevie] Can you, can, the ones that are just behind. I’m sorry. – [Stevie] No, it’s always. I think we’re doing this. – [Stevie] It’s a me thing. Oh gosh. – [Stevie] Thank you. Oh gosh. – [Stevie] That feels so much better. So now I get to. Now I get to choose something. Something! Uh, so do I need some, I mean, I’ll probably need some of that chopped salad, but I can wait. – [Jordan] Yes. – [Link] Dirty Dill Pickled Okra. – [Jordan] Yum. That’s the type of thing that Christy buys Rhett for his birthday, cause they both love that stuff. I do too. I love it. – [Stevie] I love pickled dill. I’ve also bought it for, I’ve bought it for your wife too. I’m actually gonna go with the Sweet Heat Bread & Butter Pickle. Your wife buys it for me and I buy it for her. How do you feel about that? Yeah, stay out of it. Because you just talked about the pickles in your family, I know that I want to throw some of these on there, but I’m gonna try one right now. It’s good. They’re a little sweet, a little spicy. I’m not a big sweet pickle fan, but I think these are really good as far as sweet pickles go. And I heard you say that a moment ago, essentially. You implied that you didn’t like sweet pickles, and then he chose it, which makes me feel like he wasn’t really listening to you. That’s because you listen. Um, yeah, I forgot that it said sweet. Because I know you said savory pickle, but. But I like these. I picked these. I thought a Bread & Butter pickle was a savory pickle. Bread & Butter means sweet pickle. Yeah, I was backwards about that. I’m sorry. They are really good. They’re good. Now, this is going to get very interesting when I choose my next ingredient, which is going to be the pickled okra. Great. I’m doing pickle on pickle because i’ve got no bread. So I’m already in a wild place. Yeah. And, I’m gonna use the, I’m going against the grain. Wow, okay. You’re doing kind of like a lattice. Three cheese. Three okra. Three okra? I love that. This is gonna be Don’t get me wrong. I’m not ready to do that. This is very heavy on the okra, and it will actually create a little bit of, like, an okra pop sensation when you bite it. I love that. It’s gonna be, I don’t know if you will. Okay. That’s going to be strange. Good though, right? Delicious. It’s going to be strange. I love okra. So which kind of sauce is going to work for me? Buffalo style chicken wing. I think I got to go with the sweet and zesty Famous Dave’s here. I’m really intrigued. I want to try that. That’s what I wanted you to do, just between you and me. I didn’t want the barbecue sauce. But I did want it. So it’s a win win. All right. I like that. I’m going to throw a little bit on here. If you want to, put your finger in it. Me? Anybody. Okay. Or I’ll just use the tip of this knife. Okay. – Yum. – There’s onion bits in it. It’s good. I love an onion. So do you. I love an onion. I know, we’re onion freaks. This is a mild, slather on chicken and ribs. Let’s give it, let’s give it a little slather. – [Rhett] There’s a lot of waffle under that chicken. – [Link] It’s smokier than I thought, but that’s what catches the, the slather. – [Jordan] That’s good. That’s good. Probably enough. That’s good. I love sauce, you know. Probably enough. I love sauce. I love sauce! Okay, you love sauce, which is going to inform my next choice here, right? So, why would I get the Southwestern Chopped Salad? I’ve already got a slaw like ingredient on this that’s going to taste good. But, the real question is If I’m going to be stuck with the sauce that Link doesn’t want, regardless of where I go from here, right? Yeah. Or end up with two sauces, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What? But see, but that, but what I already said is also true though. It’s going to be the sauce he doesn’t, like, if I go chop salad right now. Why do you whisper if you don’t think I’m listening? He’s going to take the sauce that he wants, stick me with the one that he doesn’t want. If I take a sauce right now. He, well, he could also choose another sauce and then stick me with more salad, which I actually, that would be great because this is just more salad and I’ve already got a really strong salad. So it’s not going to do much to undermine. I think they’re counting on me listening to them and they’re trying to sway me, but I’m actually not listening. I’m trying to help both of you. So the real thing here is the thing I’m guarding against, well, I don’t want to, I don’t want to say anything. Yeah, don’t. Just, just make a pick. Oh. Um, I’ve actually never had the Panich Chili Sauce. Never had it. Um. It’s a risk. But I feel like, given the flavor profile that I am currently in, which is a little bit of a dilly, sort of southerny kind of thing in Thousand Island, I’m gonna go with the buffalo sauce. Okay, that’s. I’m glad you did that. Do you know what to do? Of course I know what to do. You know what to do. Look at me. Right. You know what to do, right? Well, I have a 50 50 chance of knowing what to do. ((Laughing)) Uh, if I choose the slaw, that’s good for me. The salad is like a slaw. You want that. You want a little bit of crunch. I think I could get away with the sriracha chili. But that’s really gonna mess him up, isn’t it, when it’s three sauces. That’s so many sauces. That’s what I thought. I’m going with the chopped salad. I gotta like, make a nice little, it’s not the best salad. It’s good, we really like it though. Okay, and so I’m going with. It’s not as good as his salad, but it’s good. Both sauces here, so I gotta be really I have to be very careful here. And what I’m actually gonna do. Slimy looking. It is slimy looking. What is, what was in that? Can I? – [Jordan] I’m scared. Is it still good? – [Rhett] Okra. – [Link] It is good. Taste it, tell me if it’s okay. I mean, you talk about slimy. I like okra. Okra is slimy. Does that taste okay, before I eat it? Yeah. Okay. Now, Jordan, what I’m going to do here is I’m actually going to make a sauce. As I mentioned earlier, I am a sauce maker. And that’s a pro move. Oh, wow. So I’m going to combine these ingredients. What are you doing? Because I have found that there are ways, it’s all about the right way of folding sauces into one another. Because you don’t want any one of these to dominate a bite. Yeah. Put that on my finger. This is incredible sriracha. It’s unbelievable. Let’s see. Panich. Wow, what is that? Sriracha. Yeah, but it’s, it’s so much, it’s higher, it’s tangier. Yeah, it’s tangier, it’s a little more garlicky, I think it’s incredible. Ooh, it’s better. Ooh, it’s better. Yeah, and it’s in stock everywhere. Why is it better? I don’t know. Panich. But it’s delish. Ooh! Wow, so gentle, so delicate. Yeah, you know, these hot sauces will do, they do a lot of heavy lifting. You can taste, the pepper is a vegetable. Yeah. Throw me the bottle of that stuff. Thank you. Because I don’t like sriracha. Why? It’s too, it’s too much, it doesn’t have what this has, which is like, a sweeter approachability. Sure, I think you’re getting like a more well rounded flavor of the pepper. So you’re getting like a little fruitiness, some spiciness. Now what I’m going to do for you, Jordan Myrick, is I’m going to put this on there. And I am going to cut the bottom to be, to be, like the top. You are really playing with more strategy these days, and I love it. – Yep. – He’s stepping up his game. I’m actually really proud of you. Here, let me help you. Now. Yeah, you hold the top there, and I’m doing, and I’m gonna rotate I’m gonna rotate more time and then now, you can have these you can have these waffle tips, just on your own time Wow. You can just have those waffle tips on your own time. You’re both being so careful with them. And mine is, mine is ready to be eaten. I’m going to, I’m going to. Replate! I’m going to replate it. Oh my god, so thoughtful. And then I’m going to, I’m going to do that right there. Okay, I’m going to start. Does that work? Start. Last minute, back off on one okra. Okay. They got a pickle. I’m going with two okras. I think maybe I could have done a little bit more sauce, but. You know, there’s, you can always just. Okay, do you want me to eat that? You have to decide. I want you to dab that on your plate maybe. And then eat it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. I think that helped. I don’t know if it. Here you go, one of these. Thank you. Okay. This is the judging phase. All right. Okay. I’m very excited about my double down. That Asiago spread on it, is very good with those pickles, which I wasn’t anticipating. So I moved to two okra, from just kind of like staring you right. – [Link] I mean show that, look at that. It’s beautiful. – [Rhett] It’s got okra boobies. I was about to say, it’s like two beautiful breasts covered in Thousand Island dressing. That’s not typically where you start on an okra. Well that was my question. Where do you want me to bite this from? Well I was going to say the other side until I saw those okra titties. And you know that I want to. Okay. Meat buns. Oh that’s juicy. He mixed his sauces. That hurt me. That hurt me. I thought I had him, but that hurt. It’s pretty saucy, and you get the nice sauce from the, just existing okra sauce, you know? Okay, yes, let me taste a little of the sauce by itself. Okay. That’s a good pickle. This is a good one, both of you did really, really good this time. I’m very proud of both of you. We tried hard, we kept it civil, we learned some stuff along the way, but in the end there can only be one winner. We try harder at this than we do at like anything else in our career. And when in doubt, it should be the person who didn’t win last time, I thought. Well. ((Laughing)) Before Jordan makes that decision. ((Laughing)) You know what Jordan does? Jordan’s over there. Yeah, Link did it too. Okay. Anyway. I’m hotter than him. So it’s fine. I was trying to find the best blue cheese and I just Googled best blue cheese dressing. And you know what came up numero uno? It’s incredible. Our best blue cheese dressing is unbelievable. That, Bob’s? The Bob’s Big Boy Blue Cheese Dressing. All their dressings are unreal, but their blue cheese. And I was like, dang. Y’all nailed this one. Sporked.com Anyway, okay, now back to the business. Don’t keep us in suspense any longer. All right, as much as I loved both of these sandwiches, and I think you both did an excellent job in terms of strategy and also taste, today, shockingly, The winner is Rhett. Yes! That is such a weird sandwich. I broke the streak! I can’t believe it. You should really try it. I can’t believe it. I thought without the bread, with three sauces, I thought it was going to be too much, but blending the three sauces was it. Your sandwich didn’t have enough sauce, yours did. The double chicken, and having the okra be the center of the sandwich is a revelation. Oh, wow. Link, you want to taste it? I did, it was not as good as I thought. But I really loved Link’s too. This is the real winner today. Yeah. I do not know how to pronounce it. ((Music)) Tell him in the comments.
