GMMore 2548: Do You Remember These Viral Videos?

((Singing)) Welcome to Good Mythical More. We’re going in the opposite direction from the main video here in More. From zero views on YouTube to. Millions and millions and. Millions and millions of old school views. Let’s see if we can A, remember these videos and rank them in order of number of views. But first let’s check our voicemail. Okay. – [Voicemail] Hi, Stevie! Screw those boys, I want to talk to you. How are you? How was your day? How do you put up with them? K, bye! That was for you Stevie. Stevie, how was your day? How do you put up with them? – [Stevie] They didn’t leave a number to call back though. No, they didn’t. Cause it’s not a short. How do you put up with them? That’s what I’m saying, it’s not a short answer. It’s more of like a callback situation. It’s like a series of breathing exercises and. – [Stevie] Yeah. Okay. Alright, okay. Huh. Muffins. Do we remember muffins? Yeah, this is, what’s, is this Kyle? Is that the? Is that who made this? He also made Shoes. I remember Shoes. Can we get a little snippet? Asbestos! I’m baking muffins as best as I can! ((Laughing)) So this one wasn’t a song, or that’s just not the part we used? Well, here’s the thing about. Cause Shoes was a song. – [Stevie] My friends and I were obsessed with this. I missed the whole Kyle Sullivan wave and then found out about it after. I don’t know how I missed it. We ended up meeting him at something. How were you obsessed with him specifically, Stevie? Was it? – [Stevie] Cause there’s so many, quotable lines in the Muffins video, like each one of the muffins is so weird and the way that he delivers it is so weird. You remember these quotes? Let us hear them. I don’t think I remember. You don’t remember any of them? Asbestos? – [Stevie] I know that one’s blood. And then cigarette muffin. See? – [Stevie] And the way he delivers them is great. And I can’t remember if it came out, before or after Shoes, but Shoes is kind of like the obvious choice and Muffins was the, you know, I thought it was a cooler choice. Okay, but the cool thing about this one, and it stands out a little bit based on what I think is coming, is this is intentional comedy. You know what I’m saying? This is a comedian doing something funny and it being thought to be funny for the reasons that they intended. That’s an interesting, that’s a genre. That’s what we’re trying to do here on this channel. ((Laughing)) Occasionally. No, but often it is the unintentional things that end up being the funniest. Isn’t that, it’s an interesting mix here on this channel. Interesting mix. So, Stevie, which is the best? Speaking of muffins. Which is the best direction to go, for? Which side should be high views and which should be low views? – [Stevie] Rhett’s side. Yeah, high views. High views. Okay, high views. So, this is the most viewed one that we’ve looked at so far. Yeah, it is. The next one we have, of course, the classic. David After Dentist. – [Man] Stay in your seat. ((Screaming)) Man, it’s so good. Dude, dude is iconic. What is, what is, can you, can you Google what David is up to these days? I just kind of want to see a little screenshot. A few years ago, I I saw an update on him. I think he’s doing good. Usually what happens with these is they. His teeth are still good. Usually what happens with this is they try to, yeah, our monitor’s off here. They try to make a second video at some point. And I wonder if that did happen with David After Dentist. Like David After The Dentist again, or David After The Zoo, or. – [Stevie] He’s now 22 years old. Oh, wow. Oh, in May, 2021, the DeVore family created an auction for a David After Dentist NFT, with the profits going toward David and his brother’s college tuitions. The NFT sold for around $13,500. Yeah, there was a time. It’s a piece of history. Well, that was, that was a thing where you could have an NFT for a certain thing. So, that’s totally gone. Like, nobody NFTs at all. I don’t, I don’t keep up with it, but not as many people. Does anybody here own an NFT? Nobody here owns an NFT. There are people who are still doing it. This one is more popular than Muffins, though. This one blows it out of the water. It’s got to be, got to be bigger. What else we got? We have The Apparently Kid. Apparently, I’ve never been on live television before. Now, okay, so far, this is by far my favorite. Yeah. You get what I’m saying, like, there’s just something about the way that this ended up being funny, versus the way that this ended up being funny, for me, in my sense of humor, apparently, it’s just, it doesn’t get much better than that. And I actually saw an update from this guy. NFT perhaps? Yeah, he sold this for an NFT, no. In like the past year I’ve seen, he grew up, and he’s like, made peace with it. Apparently! He’s made peace with it. He just, and, cause it, there’s just so much humanity in it. I like the fact that like, you know that as a kid he used the term apparently. That was his word, man. – [Link] Maybe, maybe his, one of his parents said apparently a lot and he picked up on it, but then like with the nervous stream of consciousness of being on live television and of course knowing it because that’s what he told us for his first time, you know, it’s just. Apparently I’ve never been on live TV. This is, this is nothing to come to grips with, this is, you know, this is not. This is something to be celebrated. Right, more than Muffins I think, less than David after. – [Stevie] You haven’t even seen the whole Muffins video, she’s not putting muffins under the table, you know? No, no, no. Muffin’s wonderful. It’s why we’re putting it third. – [Stevie] Yes, that’s a valid gameplay. But, yeah, okay. We’ll watch the whole thing. Stevie’s feelings are hurt. Yeah, yeah, she loves Muffins. – [Stevie] I’m gonna call the voicemail leaver back. We’re going to talk crap about you and watch the Muffins video. Okay! I’m sorry, Stevie. I’m sorry. How do you put up with us? Alright, here we go, another intentional comedy. Charlie the Unicorn. Go inside the Candy Mountain Cave, Charlie. Yeah, Charlie, go inside the cave. Magical wonders are to behold when you enter. Boy, this is good. ((Laughing)) It’s just good. That disturbing internet humor. Go in there, Charlie. Maybe The Apparently Kid did the voice. I don’t know. ((Laughing)) FilmCow. Is FilmCow still a thing? Are they still making things? There was a lot of those and they all did really well. Yeah, it was a thing for a while. Bring up the channel. Let’s FilmCow. Let’s FilmCow that thing. I want to know what they’re up to. – [Stevie] Yeah. Does it work? – [Stevie] They’re still making stuff. Still making content. – [Link] Oh, but you can’t show us the. 1.8 million subscribers. – [Rhett] Most recent video, two years ago. Seven months ago. Oh, click on video, yeah. Oh, one month ago. Well, okay. Still making videos. FilmCow. Interesting. Yeah, that’s weird. Interesting. I mean, one of them was a 52 second rest in peace Henry Kissinger. ((Laughing)) I’m assuming that was a little tongue in cheek. – [Matt] Intentionally funny. Yes, intentionally funny. This thing, I mean, how many views do you think David After Dentist has? Well. 200 million? The first video to break a billion was the, Gangnam Style. Yeah. And then since then. You think it’s a billion? Well, here’s the thing. The metrics changed so much. So now, like, a really popular music video will break a billion views, but these ones that were really big in an earlier era don’t continue to get the, like, I think we might actually be like, oh, it’s only got, David After Dentist only has 180 million views? Charlie the Unicorn only has 97 million? I think this has more than everything except David After Dentist. David After Dentist is such a. – I don’t know. – It’s a, it’s referred to as. It’s one of those viral videos that’s like, so old school that people keep going back and referring to it. I know it’s not better than David After Dentist, I just don’t know if it’s better than Apparently Kid because it’s a specific sense of humor. Everyone thinks Apparently Kid is funny, right? That’s true. Even your mama thinks it’s funny. We’re adding in some psychology of appeal here. You send this to your mom and she’s like, well, I don’t know why y’all like it. Stevie, we’re moving muffins down even further. You okay? – [Stevie] Yeah, you’re playing the game. Okay, you’re okay. It’s gonna be alright. Potter Puppet Pals. I didn’t know about this until last year. ((Laughing)) – [Link] Well, we’re gonna put it below. Snape. Snape. Severus Snape. Dumbledore! Snape. Snape. Yep, I remember that. I don’t care for it. ((Laughing)) Yeah, it’s not, this, this one, probably because of our age, just misses us. It sounds like it all hit, it hit you guys really hard. – [Stevie] It missed me too, until, until we heard about last year from the crew. Okay, yeah. I knew about it because my kids, back in the day. Those kids you had back in the day? My kids, yeah. I remember that first family. What are they up to now? When my children were kids, I remember Charlie the Unicorn and this one. Like, these are the two. So we’re putting this below Muffins, Stevie. Putting it at the bottom. – [Stevie] Okay. So, now Muffins is no longer the lowest. And it went viral at a time, it is, in a different wave, where there were more people on the internet. So I think it might actually, I don’t know, I think Potter Puppet Pals may be higher than Muffins. Yeah, me too. Because of that, because of the era. Stevie, now we’re, what we’re doing is we’ve moved. – [Stevie] I’m here. We’re finding a way to keep Muffins at the bottom. We’re moving Muffins to the bottom. And, it’s going, but it’s, are you, are you okay? – [Stevie] Yeah. Yes! Good. Yeah, it’s gonna be, it’s gonna be fine. It’ll be fine. It’ll be fine. You can talk to your friend. Let’s see what we got here. Now we have Zombie Kid Likes Turtles. Ooh, this is my sweet spot, too. I’d like to see him and Apparently Kid just go at it. Mud wrestle, I mean. No? I like turtles! ((Laughing)) The local news part of it is also in my sweet spot, you know? I just love it. I love it. It’s no Apparently Kid, but it’s more quotable than apparently. Yep. I like turtles. It’s just like, you can say it, no matter, you can say it at any moment. I like turtles. Like if, you should have commented on one of those videos on the main, the main show with I like turtles based on what I heard. Can’t go wrong. I think, I think what you’re saying is, we’re putting it right here. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You think turtles is? Yeah. – [Link] Turtles went crazy. – [Rhett] I mean, it’s got zombie, it’s got turtles. It went crazy on the internet, yo. So crazy, yo. Let me do that. – I don’t think I disagree. – I was really pleased. I don’t think I disagree, I don’t think. Like the, like the, the blinding the blinds configuration that I had going. What is the zombie kid who likes turtles? What is he up to? Can we, can we, can we look him up? See if he’s paying for his college with NFTs. Oh, he was? The new movie? Jonathan Ware recently reprised the role that made him internet famous in a promo for Paramount’s forthcoming movie, Mutant Mayhem, which. The animated one? Has now, it has come forth. It says Zombie Kid returns and he still likes turtles. Yeah. Of the Ninja variety now. What did you guys find back there? There’s something – [Crew Member] A video from the local news a year ago. Oh, again? Is his face still painted? – [Crew Member] Yes. I’m not joking. No. Cause how many years has this been? Okay, there he was in the past. – [Link] This is, this is the. – [Rhett] Oh gosh. Oh! And he’s. Oh, he’s totally embracing it. I love it. And he just said, okay, because that was still the The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie paid him to put the face paint back on. He looks 37. And to say, I like, to sit, to be exactly the same. Wow. I love that. I love that. No, no cringe in you? I thought I was going to cringe, but. I think it’s cool. 16, 16 years later. Okay, this is what we’re guessing. Let’s see how we did it. – [Stevie] You’re so, you’re so close. You’re so close. But one of them needs to move. This one. Not this one. Potter Puppet Pals needs to go higher. Am I right? Well, Stevie wants to move Muffins, of course. ((Laughing)) I don’t think she’s even looking at the data. – [Stevie] No, you are on the right track. Potter Puppet Pals goes to number three. Really? Above, apparently? Let’s do it. I gotta keep my, keep my blinds intact. Alright. This is what we’ve done now. We’re locked in. – [Stevie] Well, you did a little bit better. Potter Puppet Pals goes to number two. Oh my goodness. Is that possible? I cannot believe this. Move it. Because of the era. It’s about the era. We’re locked in again. – [Stevie] A little bit better. What? Hold on, wait, wait, wait, Stevie, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. ((Laughing)) That’s it? – [Stevie] All correct. Dang, it’s all about when something goes viral. So, what are the views on it? Can we hear the views on everything? Do you have it in front of you? – [Stevie] So Potter Puppet Pals is at like 204 million views. David After the Dentist, 142. Zombie Kid Loves Turtles, 74 million. That’s all? – [Stevie] Apparently Kid 67 million. Oh, yeah, Apparently Kid hates turtle boy, turtle 30 70 year old man. 30 70 year old? – [Stevie] Charlie the Unicorn 41 million and Muffins, 26 million. Poor Muffins. – [Stevie] No, I said it was niche. I said it was like the better choice than Shoes. That’s how you want it to be, isn’t it? – [Stevie] Exactly, yeah. You want it to be just for you and your Build-A-Bear coworkers, or? – [Stevie] You know, that’s my friend group. Wherever you were at the time. They still keep in touch. They’re having their reunion coming up. Do you keep in touch, Stevie, with anybody from Build-A-Bear? – [Stevie] Yeah, that’s actually who called and left me a voicemail. ((Laughing)) How do you put up with those guys? And there’s no stuffing of bears? No. How do you live with yourself now, Stevie? You know what, we need to get you a bear stuffing machine. – [Link] The Mythical Cookbook is coming soon! Preorder your copy now at MythicalCookbook.com
