GMMore 2682: Rhett’s Birthday Talent Show

Welcome to Good Mythical More. Maybe you clicked because it’s Rhett’s special day and you wanted to celebrate him by watching crew members come in and channel their talents into a celebratory message of art for you. I love this. Or maybe you just wanted to find out where the wheel was gonna land. I get that. It landed on freeze frame. I see that we got people in the wings. Stevie. Are you ready to start the show? I did want to comment on the, you talking about your chin in the shirt that you’re wearing, because, I did have Caleb take the chin down. You were even more pronounced previously. Caleb. So, you know, it could have been even better than this, but I felt like this was pretty representative. Like, I think you’re being a little too hard on yourself. Yeah, maybe I’m, maybe a good 45 degree angle is not that bad. It’s the, it’s the straight profile you don’t want to see. We got a lot of, we got a lot of people, what, what? Okay, yeah, I’m about to introduce the people. Yeah, now you want to go fast? Do you want? I’ve always been going fast. We’re milking this thing. It ain’t my birthday. Do we, you know, as a, as the birthday boy, I’m just accepting all of these incredible talents as a gift. Apparently, there’s a xylophone. But Link, as my birthday friend, he will be delivering a score. Okay, yeah. And, him having to do that. Yes. Is a little birthday present to me. Okay. I would be glad. Do you need a scoring chart? I would be glad to judge. All right. Let the games begin. Please welcome Caleb. Caleb. So yeah, I made your chin like that. Oh, thank you. With Stevie’s help. You apparently made it. Yeah. So I have to. See this down here, but there is an entire smorgasbord of guitar pedals. There is. I’m only gonna be playing some of them I’m also trying to double my chances with getting a good score by having two talents along with this I’m gonna show a secret better talent after I’m done playing a song I wrote for you, Rhett. Okay, your time’s up, Caleb. Alright, should I just go for it? Yes. Alright. Let me try that again. Hey, we believe in you, man. Yeah. He’s not done. He’s not done. Alright, so here’s the better talent that I’m super excited to share. I could take my hand. Don’t put it there. Put it over here, man. Put it here, put it here. All right. And I could, just twist it like that. I like to surprise people by, like, waiting at places like this, and then just suddenly doing this. So that’s my talent. Okay, you get to score both of these things. Wow. Thank you, by the way. That was a great gift. Great gifts. Okay. I’m, I’m really judging it based on your, your enjoyment. I was watching the monitor over here so I could see everything at once. And I’m going to give you a nice solid for, for the guitar part, rough start. Fair, fair. But then you really pulled it together and I’m going to give that, an 80. An 80. Yeah. Okay, okay. Right. And, for the, for the arm twisting around, I’ve never seen that before. Okay. I’m gonna give that a 90. How about for, Rhett’s shirt? He designed this shirt. At mythical.com – Get it. – That’s worth paying for. Yeah. That’s worth paying for. You heard it from Link. Happy birthday, Rhett. Thank you, Caleb. Thanks, Caleb. Now. Please welcome, Katrina. Katrina! Katrina. Katrina. Hi. Hi. Okay, I’ve been working on this for like, a few months. Oh, wow. Yeah? So don’t make fun of me. Okay. Seriously. I like, I’m genuinely, I’ve been working on this for a long time. I would never. Okay, ready? Maybe I need to get closer, like, here. Okay, okay. Wow. I think I. Ready? I saw the very beginning of that. I haven’t practiced this enough. What? Okay. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to Rhett. Happy birthday to you. Wow. She was singing with her mouth closed. Yeah. Yeah, that was good. Yeah, yeah. And then when it got to the part about me, where she says Happy Birthday to Rhett, I heard it. Two syllables. Two syllables. Two syllables. You call me a Rhett Rhett? Okay. You know, that’s always what I call you. Rhett Rhett. Right, he’s goofy. Yeah. Goofy guy. Yeah. You feel a little weird right now. Oh, no, no. You made him feel weird. Oh, no, I loved it. Oh, I loved it. You made the birthday boy feel. No, I loved it. Weird. I said don’t make fun of me. Rhett Rhett loved it. Don’t make fun of me. I’m not, I’m not, I’m not. You did that, I mean, it speaks for itself. Okay. It was unique. Okay. It was. It also had a rough start. I may give it, I may give it a 45. Not even a 47. Thank you, Katrina. Happy birthday, Rhett. That was great. That was great. And now, please welcome, Zach. Zach. Hey guys. What’s up, Zach? Not much. We haven’t met too much, but. We haven’t met too much. We haven’t met too much. I’m also kind of tall for the frame, sorry about that. Not Rhett size. Spread your feet apart. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I’m playing the didgeridoo for you today. For your birthday. This is a travel size. The larger ones are kind of tricky to fit on a plane. So, you’re getting this one now. Yeah, I didn’t know what that was. Are you Australian? – No. – Yeah. I just, liked renaissance faires as a kid. So, I picked it up. I’m gonna give it to you. All right, I’m just gonna, I’m not gonna look at you. Yeah, probably good call. Because it’s a travel one. It’s a travel one? Yeah. I just want to imagine if it was a big didgeridoo. Okay, yeah. Sorry, the size isn’t up to par, but. There you go. Nice and smooth. Wow, I mean, you know what? When I closed my eyes, I pictured you. Did it sound bigger than it looks? Just, yeah. Well, I pictured you with a regular shape didgeridoo that was just smaller than a normal one because it wasn’t that loud in my ear But hopefully it was loud, loud enough for the camera, yeah, yeah, yeah. So Zach, like what is that? Like what is what are you doing? Like what does that involve? Do it without the instrument for a moment. That’s tricky it’s like if you ever played a trumpet but out of like the side of your mouth. So you just kind of hit it with a little like. But like really concentrated. Yeah, yeah. So you’re kind of mouth farting into it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then it just gives a nice, and then you can use your voice, and like, your tongue to move the vibrations. Yeah, yeah, I heard all that. – Good! – Yeah, yeah. And try not to laugh in between, because it really messes you up. Link. I did not know that this existed. So that’s, that’s. That’s a plus. So you learned something. I learned something from what you did. It was educational. It started off great. Okay. Still reversed. Yeah. The other two. Exactly. Yeah. Strong start. We try and be unique. But when you ended, you said that, that was it. Not much of a performer. Yeah, when you, when you end something and you have to say that was it. That’s a sign that, that you’re, that you’re that you’re, you’re sub 30. Link. Don’t say that was it. Sub 30. Don’t say that was it. I’ll take it. I mean 29. But that wasn’t part of the performance. That was after. Yes it was. It was, you know, he was the performer and he said that was it. I think that’s fair. Or something like that. We’ll take harsh criticism. Thank you, Zach! This is everything I was. This is everything I was hoping it would be, with you giving out scores. – And now, please welcome. – I’m sorry, he said that was it. Mad Dog Lucas. Yeah! Mad Dog Lucas. Alright. We’re finally gonna get some redemption! Alright. Yeah. I can juggle. – Yep. – Yes. Okay. Of course you can. And I’m gonna do it at the same time. What does that mean? Well. Yeah. Don’t say that. I can juggle. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Which is a fun skill. That’s surprising. That’s surprising. It’s hard to do. I can’t do it. I can also recite, shot by shot, the 1997 movie, Men in Black, and I can do them at the same time. Okay. Yeah. Are we doing a scene or are we doing? So we open up with like the, let me start again. We open up with the darkness and it’s like it’s showing the clouds. Okay. Wait, but then there, there’s also stars. And then the stars turn into a windshield and, and the guy, goddamn bugs. That’s what he says. The first line, which is actually if you think about later in the movie, it gets, the bugs are actually the issue, right? So goddamn bugs. The car pulls up to a, a few other cars that are parked. It’s like a road stop, right? And they get at, well, they’re stopped. They’re stopped by these two guys that are in these suits. They’re in these, like these black suits and the black suits are important because they’re, they’re kind of the whole, the characters are built around the Men in Black because, and so these are those guys. And so they get every, they’re like, everybody get out of the car and everybody gets out of the car because they’re like some sort of. They have an authoritative kind of edge to them and they line everybody up and they’re like, oh, we know what this is. And, and the local cops are like, you don’t know. And they’re like, we know more than you know, son. And they, they do a lot of that kind of like patronizing, cop talk. And then they, so they get everybody lined up, they get everybody lined up and, uh, they’re, they’re like, okay, everybody, no. Okay. So Tommy Lee Jones from, which is, did you see that movie? Where he was an Irish guy and a bomber. No, that wasn’t him. I think that was somebody else. But, Tommy Lee Jones later in No Country For Old Men is talking to all the guys and he like gets them out, but then he gets the one, there’s one guy at the end and he’s like, everybody can get back in the truck except for you. So everybody gets back in the truck and he takes that guy back over, like, around some kind of like a little mountain thing. It’s like a hill, they can’t see it. So they start talking to this guy. Turns out this guy, he’s not a guy at all. Is there a fast forward button? You guys, you’re not gonna believe this. He’s an alien. Okay? Not the illegal kind like the rest, oh I didn’t even bring that up. The rest of them were illegal aliens. And so now it’s kind of like ties into the alien thing of it all. How about maybe we skip forward a few chapters? Okay, so. Maybe to the end. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn’t finish it, actually. So. There you go. I can take a few guesses if you want. Maybe, maybe next time. Don’t leave. Don’t leave. Don’t walk away. We stayed for you, you stay for us. Oh yeah, of course. I’m still here all the time. Strong start. Yeah. Strong start. Yeah, like, I mean, you’re the birthday, you. Yeah, yeah, I mean, I loved it. That’s what, I love the, I love the movie. And I love juggling. You like Will Smith? Will Smith is in it. The movie. Okay, so then it cuts to New York. We got you. We got you. You know those TikToks where somebody is showing you something, but then they’re showing you, like, a craft? Yeah, sludge. A craft? This was better than that. Right. This is better than sludge. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I gotta say, I, having not seen the movie, You took me there. Painted a picture. Yeah. And it, there were layers and, there was lots, there’s lots to appreciate and I, I, but I’m not going to list those things. You can if you want. No. Instead, I’m just going to give you a 91. Thank you. That was a strong commitment to the bit. Yeah. And I would have sat through the whole thing. Yeah, no, totally. Thank you, Lucas. Yep. Best so far. Damien. Damien. What’s up? I’m doing some soccer freestyle, also some juggling. I just want to tell you that no one can even see the ball. I know, so I’m gonna move back a little bit. But before we start, buy yourself something nice. I like that. We do accept briberies. Alright. So we’re gonna start. I realized also that it was gonna be a bit quiet. So, I don’t know, should I recite some other movie? Don’t copy Lucas. But yeah, yeah. Hey, this is taking you back to your high school days. Oh, there it is! Did you do any of this stuff back in your high school? You played soccer for like eight years, man. Yeah, I can do it a little bit. All right, let’s see what you got. That was good, but are you done? I’m done. Oh, okay. If I go any further, I might embarrass myself, so. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Strong start. Okay. Are you sure you don’t want to go into sport mode for this, Link? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We gotta be, we need sport mode. If there were ever a time. For sport mode. I can’t keep it up. Yeah! Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Alright. Yeah, I. A score. Definitely at least a 20, if you know what I’m saying. Times 2, and it’s. Times 4 is 80. Oh, I was supposed to answer. Okay. I’ll give you a 79 for that. Oh, wow. That was good. That was good. Thank you, Damien. Brought back memories when I used to do that. And now, please welcome Dylan! Hello. What’s up, Dylan? Both of these talents I kind of learned recently, because of Chase, with the email and everything. So. Like the assignment to do this? There was an email. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, I don’t want to steal Lucas’s thunder, but I am juggling, but I can do something while I’m juggling. Oh, God. I can’t recite Men in Black, but I can juggle. Right, and. Is it working? This is what I’m trying to do. Yeah, just do that part. Yeah, yeah, we’ll put the balls in post. Okay, sweet. I was using tennis balls. I was actually practicing with socks previously, and then I moved on to these, so. Okay, yeah. And then I have another talent that. So just to be clear, that was his back titties. Yep. And I wore my, my lucky shirt today. Yep, yep. Oh, you can make that frog dance. We’ve always, we’ve always loved those back titties. Thank you. That was my attempt. Oh yeah, thank you Chase. And this is the second talent that I, I learned at a party. Cause I got bored and I wanted to try something. So, I’m gonna take off my shoes as well. It’s not yoga. But maybe. Alright. That’s it. Did you see how he was swinging there for a second? I did notice that when he finished, he said, that’s it. That’s it. Again. I think you’re. This is, this is why they invented the bow. Right. That that was a, that was a nine. – That was a strong nine. – Do you wanna see a nine? No. I, I, I still see, I still got it right here. You like the thing you like, you like that. That got me going a little bit. That’s gonna bring it. I smiled at that. That’ll bring it up to a 59. Okay. Thank you, Dylan. Thank you. Up next, we have Lily. Hey, Lily. Hi. So not many people know this about me, but I can eat a hot dog in ten minutes or less. In a non-sexual way. Okay. Okay. Ten minutes or less. Yeah, Lily! Have you seen Men in Black? Why don’t we have the, why don’t you just do that over there and then you come back, we’ll check in. I’m gonna sit back here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well that’s not what I, that’s not what I suggested. Ten minutes or less. Please welcome, Nicole! Nicole Bade. That’s me, good job saying my name. – I have a very. – Strong start. I’m gonna say it genuinely, people always say it wrong. Okay, I can do the worm with my eyebrows and my tongue. So. Okay. Okay. Hey, you know what? Come up here. And then. And then Lily actually suggested trying to do them at the same time. This will be the second time that I’ve attempted it. So we’re all on a journey together. Well, I mean. I just want to point out, no false start. And I didn’t say, that’s it. So. Yeah, we knew you were done. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we knew when you were done. That’s a pro. That’s a pro. You know, I mean, I would love to be able to do that. I mean, that’s one of the things. Have you tried? I can’t even, I can only do one up. I can’t even do the other one. That’s really sad. I’m sorry. See, it’s a, some would call it a talent. Yeah, yeah. What would you, what score would you give yourself? What are you hoping for? The old self score technique. Well, I would say that’s at least a B+ so probably 88. Have I given anybody a? We gave Lucas a 91. Yeah. I’m not better than Lucas. Nope. Okay. That’s fast. Fast response. I’ll give you a 44, and then Rhett will give you the other 44. How’s that? Average of, average of. Thank you, Nicole. Lily, how you doing back there? – Good. Working on it. – Not 10 minutes, okay. Okay. What else we got over here? Well, I, I do think we’ve at least seen, enough talents to make a comparison to another talent filled show. Yeah, we, you know, we have some talents of our own that we break out from time to time. We’re doing that as part of the Good Mythical Tour. Oh, we got two shows coming to Texas. All right. We got a show in Dallas and we got a show in Houston. They’re both in November. You can get tickets at goodmythicaltour.com. We wanna see you in Texas. If you know somebody in Texas or if you’re in Texas, come come to those shows. It’s gonna be the last shows for quite some time. So, get them while you can. goodmythicaltour.com Please welcome Adelaide. Adelaide. Hi Rhett, happy birthday. Thank you. I sing. I’m gonna sing for you today. Oh, and you play. And I play. I got this for you. For this moment. Oh, wow. Okay. Alright. Okay. Hey Rhett, it’s your birthday And I know you like to sing So I wrote you a new song in a three part harmony. You gotta sing with me, your voice is so good. Me. Well, that was worth a shot. We love you Rhett, yeah. We love you Rhett, yeah. We love you Rhett, yeah. We love you Rhett. Everybody! We love you Rhett, yeah. We love you Rhett, yeah. We love you Rhett, yeah. We love you Rhett. Another year of your Mythical best. Happy birthday, Rhett. Thank you, Adelaide. I’m done. I finished. Okay. Wow, okay, so two scores here. I’m sorry for her. Alright, I finish when I finish. Yep. Good God. Wow. So much talent here. – I mean, you, you. – Oh, I, I’m just, I, that was great for me. You know, in fact, both of them ending at the same time was wonderful. Adelaide, great tone. I love the tone. Thanks, Link. The content, though, needed a little work. Okay. Oh, okay. What would you have done? A little more, yeah, say, say more. Uh, I mean, it’s, it was a little, it’s kind of pandering, I felt like. I loved your tone, you know. Just, you know, find another muse. Alright. But, I’ll give that a nice, strong 88. Sorry, Nicole. Yep. I’ll take it. And this is new for you? Yeah. Next time I’ll do, I love you, Link. Yeah, my birthday. Yeah. Yeah. Well, alright. Schedule it. Alright. Here you go. Thank you, Adelaide. Thank you, Adelaide. And Lily? She’s done. I mean, I think it was less than 10 minutes. So I think she exceeded expectations. Right, right. I think, her timing was unapologetic. And, yeah, you said what you were gonna do. You did it. And then it was over. That’s right. So, I don’t know, I think that’s probably, probably a 90. I’ll take it. Thank you. I mean, she, when it comes to eating a hot dog non-sexually, I think she did that. Yeah, right, yeah. I forgot she was back there. Are we done yet? And for our grand finale, we have Chase and Tally. Oh, we have a duo. We have a duo. Tally looks excited. Yeah! So, I haven’t done this since I was probably in high school, but I can do an impression of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. I did this a couple weeks ago for Chase, and he, now here I am. So there’s two Stitches! Yeah. Oh, I thought you were gonna be Lilo. Okay. No. That would have been smart. We got two Stitches, alright. Two Stitch, go for it. You wanna start? Hello. My name is Stitch. All right. Well, at least you know. Is that something Stitch said in the movie? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He probably introduced himself at some point, yeah. Yeah, I think he says hi at some point. Hi. That’s how he says hi. See, I think you did that two weeks ago when I learned about it, and I was like, oh, that sounds kind of like WALL-E too. Ah, dang it. So it’s like kind of a WALL-E impression as well, which I don’t have. I get my Disney impressions mixed up. But why not say, like, a line from the movie? I don’t understand. Yeah, he says hi. I haven’t seen the movie in like, years. – Like that. – So. Alright. Hi. Yeah. I mean you could have said happy birthday. He says happy birthday. Happy birthday. To Rhett. Not to Link. Yeah. I mean, I haven’t seen the movie. What? But I believe that I’ve heard people doing this impression before. Better than that. He meets the man in black and then they, do the flashy thingy, and the cops show up, and then they say, hi. That’s pretty good. I mean, I imagine that it’s good. Yeah, I haven’t seen it. Fifty-five. Fifty-five? And Tally? Alright. 45. 45. Can I, can I understand what the? Yeah. Well, you fell out of it. And you weren’t very confident. That’s valid. Thank you. But you didn’t say that’s it. I didn’t say that. That’s it. Happy birthday, man. Wow. It’s, you know, it’s great to be surrounded by so much talent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, we hear from time to time that, a lot of people out there in the Mythical Beastdom, you know, wish they could work here. And now you know. The bar is low. The bar is. Well, you just shouldn’t be too intimidated. Happy birthday. Shop Rhett’s new birthday tee and sale now at mythical.com
