Delicious. according to the ingredients that we’re going to draft from above your head. Yes, we have some new things, some ones we know and love. And I’m excited. I love a I love a taco. No, I won last time. It was the crazy thing where I made you use all the weird stuff. You got really weird. What was that stuff? Banana split. Yes. Oh, and a street taco with a little uh No, it’s like a pastor taco. I never prefer it with a double tor. I never prefer double tor. Mhm. Something about a fl I I just like to eat flour tortillas. They’re delicious just on their own. My fancy will do a little butter and then a little cinnamon sugar, roll them up, put it in the microwave for like 10 seconds. Well, you know, I lived I lived out here in Southern California when I was 3, four, and five. Oh, I didn’t know that. What part? Thousand Oaks. Oh my god. Yes. Okay. You’re surprised. Well, I went to high school right there. Really? Do you know that? I did not. I knew you were like I knew that there was some that part of the city, but Thousand Oaks. Yeah. Oh, okay. Well, I I was there in 1981,828. Were you there at that time? I was not born. Okay. Um, I was there later, so I don’t think we crossed paths, but yes, we were there. And my mom did not like California. She wanted to get back to the South. I found my way back here, but she would always talk about the tortillas. She said they have the best tortillas out there. The best flour tortillas. It’s true. In Thousand Oaks, in Thousand Oaks. Do you want to know a fun hack that my grandma does? She’s also from the south, but in her chicken and dumplings, instead of making dumpling dough, if she wants them fast, she’ll just cut up pieces of flour tortillas and then put them in the rest of the chicken and dumpling stuff. Nobody knows. Nobody knows. It’s really good. There’s a little secret for you. Interesting. Okay, here you go. Uh h it’s like flat strips. She’ll cut them into like little diamond shapes and throw them in. And the way that they like absorb the liquid tastes just like the dumpling dough. Huh. I am going to get a protein here. Okay. And um we have soy rizo and we have ground turkey. And that’s about it. I’m going to go I know that that soy rizo is good. I’m going to go with it. Smart. Smart. It’s it’s got lots of appearances. It’s got a great flavor. We love it. It’s a great base. I keep this stuff on hand at home. It’s really good for breakfasts. Chili. Really easy to make chili with in the crock pot. This is like a cooking show today. I’m just giving out all kinds of ideas. Is going with the ground turkey. I mean, I got I got to reserve the right to get the You don’t want to have no meat. Yeah. Right. Cuz I I would have double sad. Yeah. I don’t want to be sabotaged. Yeah. Uh Wow. Okay. I believe that man, I got a corn I got a corny right now. It’s basically we’re making choices about the fundamentals. Yes. Yeah. Which is obviously going to be your tortilla, your meat, and then your cheese at this point. Now we’re in the Are we in a queso place? Are we in a sharp cheddar place? And that is going to of course. Is there something that you know you want to really set yours off? You might want to go ahead and get it. He does not want you to take cheese. But which cheese does he not want me to take? I think the real question is which cheese do I want you to take? Right. My god. I don’t know. I don’t know. Which cheese do you think I want? I think I’m going to be able to. If I If there were not more wet ingredients up there, I would feel like I needed to get wet right now. You can wait. But I’m going to wait to get wet and I’m going to go with the shredded sharp cheddar. Okay. And that’s fine because I wanted the queso because one can never wait to get wet too much. I agree with Link. The wetter the better. I always say. Okay. Um I don’t want to get too wet. Okay. All right. I don’t want to get too Are there any things that are going to dry up a little bit? I don’t know. And so this is And this is why I am now moving to the sour cream. I love that stuff. I know you love it. It’s so good. and he loves it. So, you’re really kind of shooting him in the foot. Right. Right. Right. Because he loves it so much. In my wet foot. In your big wet foot. I’ve never seen them do a bad job other than they were stunning. They were beautiful. I’m trying to remember what you think about guac because I love guac. And I’m very interested in this guac. I know something that you do like. What? You love that Yucato hot sauce. I mean, well, they they love all of it. No, but that hot sauce is so special. Yeah. Bring it out. And to be known is to be loved or to be loved is to be known. Um, and we’ve talked about this before, but we’ll talk about it again. So, this is super hot. This is the chili habanero. Yes. Uh, and the one that I fell in love with that introduced me to this brand is the uh the black sauce that is the roasted habaneros because I had it in the Yucatan Peninsula of all places. Wow. That’s at a restaurant. That feels like having ranch at the Hidden Valley. Yes. And I was like, “What is this?” And they were like, “It’s habaneros.” And they’re like roasted or whatever. And then I was like, “I’ve never seen this.” And they were like, “Well, there’s a sauce you can get. Yucato. Yukco.” Is the black one not as spicy? It’s not as spicy. It’s not as spicy, but it’s still pretty They’re all pretty spicy. But there the the flavor profile. Like this is what will give This is the signature flavor of my taco. Oh, I love that. Basically, like you like what I what I wanted to define it. I want this sauce to define it. I love that. I need a signature flavor. You got to have a signature flavor. What is it? I would love pickled onions, but those You don’t buy those. You make those, right? I agree. Those are a good version of it. But if you’re going to buy them, are there some up there? No. Got it. I’m about to say, do you I don’t I don’t see We’ve tasted some before that we liked, but I’m like, make them if you can. I’ll go with the pickled jalapenos. That’s a good choice cuz I I wanted those. I think that’s going to be a signature. I don’t like these. Why? I don’t like the taste. I don’t like the heat. Oh, I forgot that you are delicate. Mhm. He’s a delicate. precious baby. He’s a delicate man. Uh, I’m going to go with the willing to be preserved by those who love and care for me. So true. Because I think it’s a better compliment to my hot sauce. Instead of the sauce of Verde, I’m going to go with the Matteos. Okay. I actually like the Matteos. Hot on. Matteo is delicious. I like it more than the Ez. I agree. I think the Erdz is good, but I like the Matteo more, unfortunately. Mhm. Well, fortunately for you. Unfortunately for Link. Yeah. This is a really good salsa. So, we’re down to the guac, the olives, and the salsa verde. I don’t have any. Well, I do have spice. I’ve got green, brown, and orange. You trying to get Roy G. Biv? Yeah. So, I got two greens and then a black. I olives and uh what a black is a nice color to go. Olives and jalapenos. Do those go together? I don’t like either one, so I really don’t know. Yeah. Yes. No, I was I’m saying I know you don’t like either one, so that must be hard for you. Yeah, this is difficult. I was trying to sympathize with you. I think Huh. Olives or guac? Do I like olives or do I like guac? You like olives? I do like olives. Yes. Mhm. Shoot. I wanted olives. I’m giving I’m taking the olives from Rhett and I’m putting them on my taco for you, but not for me. I will not be tasting it. You like the olives. Oh, yeah. I wanted the black olives. I know. I wanted them. I wanted them. I know. I think I think I’m going in a good place. Both look good. Here’s the thing is that I don’t know why I don’t know what you think about guacamole. It’s hurting my feelings, to be honest. Why did neither one of you know that? I feel like we’ve eaten a bunch of it on the show. I know. I thought we knew and then we stopped knowing. Great. And this stuff is medium. This is good though cuz you didn’t have a salsa. Yeah, I didn’t have a salsa. I think this shook out really well. I think honestly this is going to be one of the harder ones because I think both of these are going to taste a little similar and both are going to be pretty good. So, it’s going to get down to the minutiae. Yeah, there’s a lot of good ingredients on the table. Yeah, I would say if I may. If I may. Yes, you may. I would think about proportions. Maybe that could be something that would set you apart since both of your things are so similar. Mhm. I don’t know. You mean that like the proportions of the ingredients to each other? Yeah. Yeah. We got to get those right. Yeah. What did you think I meant? I think I thought maybe just like did you want a really big taco or Yeah. the proportions of the taco to my body. Think about that. I guess unless you have a different request, the key to making a good taco is to color outside of the boundaries. So, when you pick it up, there’s there’s things that are just hanging over. Oh, so you mean literally go outside the tortilla? Yep. Not conceptually go outside the boundaries. Yeah. Huh. Okay. I don’t get that, but I’m open. That way, your first bite is like a middle bite. Okay. All right. Listen, I don’t understand, but I’m very excited to try. Do you agree with what he said? Uh, you’re not just getting like corn tortilla lips in your face. I listen, I think it’s a sound strategy, but I’m just a little bit worried about the wastefulness. And I know that you’re a very environmentally conscious person. Then what you do is then you eat the stuff off the plate with a tortilla chip. I mean, it’s not like you’re not going to throw it away, but we don’t have chips. That’s true. Wow, you’re both presenting a lot of good points. That was one of my favorite things to do when I was growing up is when we would have tacos, I would then make like a little taco salad on the plate with whatever fell out of the tacos. This is a nice guac. Yeah, it’s good. Is it hot in this room or is something wrong with me? Uh, it’s just the pressure. I’m not hot. You’re not hot. The thing is is those aren’t mutually exclusive. Do you know what I’m saying? I bought guacamole the other day and I This is really good. I need to take note. We heart Guac. Yes. Is is your recommendation? Yeah. This looks like a fake brand you would see on like a TV show. It doesn’t look like a real company, but it is. And it’s actually really good. I think packaged squawk is something that’s very hard to make. Very hard to make good, that’s for sure. And they do a pretty good version of it. Oh, a lot of olives. Going to Olive Town. Yeah, but you’re not going to eat those. What do you mean? They’re in the middle. Oh, okay. You’re not going to eat the whole taco. I didn’t plan to. But you’re going to eat everything in this in the in the edges cuz I’m I’m coloring outside of the lines. Okay. And I’m going to give you a nice little opener here. Oh, okay. Okay. It’s really kind of pristine and laid out in a way that feels almost like you learned it from a chart. Yep. I wish I had some whiteness. I am a taco artist, but I’m sorry. I like a I like a meaty taco. I don’t like to go too light on the meat. Okay. Do you find that to be a problem when you get tacos? When I make them, I put too much meat. I overcompensate and then I have a proportion problem. Would you warn me about? Sure. I think I’ve taken it into account. Now, would you like a picture of this, Chappie? Yeah, let’s get both. May I ask, what are you overcompensating for? What? You think this is too much? You said you overcompensate and put too much meat in the tacos. So, I was Because I know I like meat and I I usually don’t get a lot of the meat. Is it hot or is what he’s saying not making sense? I don’t like it when people ask follow-up questions. It’s like when a little kid shows you a a painting or something they’ve done. That’s the kind of response that you’re giving right now, Jordan, to Yeah. Just eat it. This and Link is the kid. This came out exactly the way I wanted. It’s in taco form and my ingredients are peeking out and every single layer is presented to your mouth perfectly. That is kind of sexy. Yep. Just like that. See that? What’s going on? Look at that. And it just stays. It just stays. I put a little uh magic in the top. Wow. All right. I’m impressed. Did you lick it like an envelope? I did not. I just put a little pressure on it. Okay. And it decided to stay. That’s technique. I like that. Maybe go for mine first to give his a chance of failing. Okay. I mean, it is kind of doing what you said it would do. It did work pretty well. And that is impressive. Okay. M. I hear the crunch. Mhm. Okay. Nice. Bursting with flavor. Taco meat. Really flavorful. lot of jalapeno, which I love. I think you could have gone timid with it, but you know, I like spice or you forgot and you just happen to do the right thing. But either way, I loved it. Yep. Got a little olive. I think there could have been a little more queso just because the tortillas are a little dry. And I double quesoed. Should have tripled. I might have need a triple queso. Should have tripled, you know. But very good. Good. And I’m glad your strategy worked. I was skeptical. Okay, let’s try this. This looks kind of like a dinosaur, doesn’t it? Like one that goes in the water and its fin is above the water. Oh, yes. Yep. That’s what I meant to do. Good. I mean, you almost made a burrito. It’s almost I almost made a burrito. M spicy. Yeah, that sauce. I I didn’t go easy on you with the sauce because sometimes I’m too timid and this and I felt like this sauce you really wanted to know I was in on the sorizo it looks like. Um, some people would think that’s nasty and I think that it’s good. I know you like this stuff. It’s very good. It’s very nice. It is spicy. Both the salsas together. You definitely taste this. It is a major flavor profile in it, but I lose some of the other flavors cuz it’s too much. Well, I don’t know if it’s the proportions or if it’s the Yeah. Yeah, like maybe it’s the amount of this combined with the amount of sour cream and guac. I don’t get a I don’t get much guac flavor and I don’t get much from the cheese. I don’t even know it’s there. Wow, that stuff is so strong. Mhm. But it’s delicious. If you were in a cooking competition for this company, I would say perfect. Perfect. Wow. I give myself Yeah. You okay? You want water? Wow. Yeah. Try this. You gave it to me. No, thank you. I’ll smell it. It’s hot. It’ll make you sneeze. Wa. Yeah. Oh, it’s so good though. It’s delicious. It has like a wonderful fruity habanero profile. I’m scared of it. Says XX on it. Yeah. Wow. Very tasty. Okay, both are really good, but I think I do have a winner. Okay, can I get a drum roll? The winner is Link. Yes. I’m sorry. Both were delicious, but what I loved about Lynx is that you could really taste each ingredient. And they were also harmonious. And it reminded me of like when you get a really good street taco. You taste the meat, you taste the tortilla, you taste the onion, you taste the cilantro, then you taste the lime. And that’s kind of what this was. All I can taste is that hot sauce. Yes. This became kind of like a homogeneous mixture that was very good. But I think this took the case. Yep. Oh.
