We're trying a brand new
sandwich and dessert from Arby's.
Welcome to Good Mythical More.
I'm making an A sign.
Oh, I was trying to make an
A for Arby's, not a sponsor.
We're gonna be eating Arby's food.
That was almost a good idea.
Not a sponsor.
Um, yeah, they got some new things,
new stings, and we're gonna taste 'em
and tell you what we think about 'em.
This.
This is the, what do you call this,
the Chicago style Italian beef dip.
It's got the, uh, the au jus and
then this is the, uh, the peach
cobbler rolls, peach cobbler rolls.
People are going nuts over these,
so I have really high expectations,
but let's start with the meal.
Can I just say, people talk
a lot of crap about Arby's?
They do.
And people think that, uh, that for
some reason it would be bad because
it's roast beef or something uhhuh.
But I've always thought Arby's was good.
I once, uh, encouraged, I, I was
gonna say made, but just encouraged my
wife to sit down with me inside of an
Arby's and enjoy a meal on a long trip.
And we did.
Mm-hmm.
And I enjoyed it.
And, um, and I was vindicated
and, uh, I once saw.
There was the, I don't know who they were,
two internet personalities out there in
the, in the, in the, uh, internet space.
Mm-hmm.
Who they were, they were on like a radio
show and they were tasting Arby's for
the first time and they were talking
about how great it was and I was
like, see, all you gotta do is try it.
But now that I've talked
that up, you might hate this.
Try Italian beef.
We've had an Italian beef
and in Italy, I mean Chicago.
Yeah.
We.
Right.
Yeah.
Did, did you get confused for a second?
Well, it's an Italian beef.
Um, are they in Italy?
But this does not look like the
Italian beef that I had in Chicago,
which did not have cheese on it.
Uh, that's one of the criticisms
you got sport peppers.
What are the orange things?
I can't remember.
G. It starts with a G, G, G. Gii jar.
Uh, jar.
Not Giardia.
Giardia.
Gira.
And I'm going to, I'm gonna go into that.
I'm gonna go into it hard.
They went into it real soft on the
commercial, which was not a good commercial.
It's got.
The woman, oh, I'm getting a conf.
No, which one is this?
This is the commercial.
That was bad because it was, it was about two
dueling real estate agents that have reality
television shows that I'm not familiar with.
This commercial was, it had one
person who I'm not familiar with,
but she's a secret Mormon wife.
Yeah.
She's a secret Mormon
wife who, um, was in the.
The theatrical play.
Chicago, yes.
It all comes together.
This is also a collaboration
with, uh, Arby's and Chain.
You know, we went to the chain event, that's
BJ Novak's, uh, thing where they like get the
people to come to the events and they make,
it's like a marketing firm for like fancy
stuff, food, restaurants or something fancy.
That was also the second time you saw
John Mayer and tried to talk to him.
That's right.
Yeah.
And you said.
What did you say that time, the first
time you said, I love you, John.
Uh, I, because he was walking away from me.
I didn't say anything to him because,
uh, Christie said, what are you doing?
Come over here.
And she saved me from embarrassment.
I see why they've done this, because
it's just roast beef from Arby's.
It's just roast from Arby's.
Mm-hmm.
And then it's, and then they've
got, I am eating the whole day, the
gravy that you're dipping it in.
The roast beef at Arby's.
That's the thing that they've always
led with and it's the reason why people
don't think they want to go there.
'cause no one ever thinks I want
a roast beef sandwich from Arby's.
I do.
Except for you.
You ever had a beef and cheddar?
Don't love it.
You ever had a beef and cheddar?
But I think I've gotten
sick from it and it, no.
No fault of its own.
It's just that my body's now
associated the beef and cheddar.
I think it's, as a matter of fact,
I think it was from Hardee's.
Yeah, you don't, now that I think
about it, I mean, they just, just
'cause they almost rhyme doesn't
mean you gotta get 'em confused.
It's a dish that I don't, I don't,
I don't like, this is not bad.
But according to the people who
know, it's not technically an
Italian beef, it's also not great.
So I'm a little ma,
I'm just hungry, you know, I'm always hungry
and there's so much biscuit in me right now.
I feel like I have to put
other ingredients in there.
Just, just drink the ou.
Because?
Because look, that bread is
just like a subpar biscuit.
Bring out a Wendy's biscuit.
Do we have any more of those?
I'm speaking up Wendy's biscuits.
Who are those who just joining us?
We just determined that Wendy's
biscuits are the best biscuits.
We fast food and we guessed Wendy's four
other times and we weren't brought any of
them also whenever we didn't like them.
Your second favorite biscuit
was KFC, and that's the only one
that both of you got, correct?
That was the first biscuit
that you kept saying was salty.
Salty.
Salty.
We were assaulted by that biscuit.
In 2008.
We made a bunch of videos for Alka Seltzer.
Yeah, and one of the stops was to.
Chicago.
Mm-hmm.
And that was when we made the Chicago Zebo,
which was two deep dish pizzas stacked
on top of each other, held up by hot dogs
with DW rods, and then don't tell anybody.
Mm-hmm.
And then the toppings on the deep dish pizzas
were the ingredients to an Italian beef.
Mm-hmm.
And we went on WGN, which is the, you
know, flagship station there in Chicago.
Mm-hmm.
And the weatherman was a personality.
Yeah.
He was like a known personality.
Yeah.
And so we did a segment with him.
Yeah.
Where we introduced the Chicago
Zebo and we had a song for it.
We sang a song and everything.
We sang a song about the Chicago
Zebo live on the Chicago news.
Mm-hmm.
And, but that wasn't even the
video, the video that we made
that was just for the news.
Right.
We, we, we, the video we
made was about the hot dogs.
Yeah.
And the guy who started, what was
the name of the hot dog place?
The famous hot dog place in Chicago.
Probably from Chicago there a lot.
The old couple.
Super dog.
Super dog.
Super dog.
Yes.
We, we sat down, we met that guy.
He sat down super.
The husband and wife.
I mean, I can't imagine
that guy's still alive.
No, he can't be.
He's eating nothing but hot dogs.
Hot dogs.
Can't recommend this.
But we went to the, the Italian beef.
Mm-hmm.
That was all to say, yeah.
We went to the Italian beef and I would
say that place, it was the first time I
ever had one and I got it wet and I got it
with the, with the two types of peppers.
Yeah.
And just beef.
And it was absolutely incredible.
And I just think that if you know what
that tastes like, you can't have this.
It's tough to then eat this.
Yeah, you can't.
You just can't.
And that's coming from somebody who
really appreciates Arby's, as I said.
Let's move on to dessert, because
people are a buzz with this thing.
Uh, pretty positive.
There's a, there's an actual review,
uh, down here from Dani Zoeller.
On The Takeout.
Arby's peach cobbler rolls should have
you running to your local restaurant.
Okay, Dani.
Donny.
D. Hi Donny.
I'd go with Dani.
Dani.
All right.
Um, saying it's great.
And then on the Reddit, the, there's an
Arby's subreddit that's called, um, r/BYS.
Oh, I get it.
AR-BYS.
And people are just on there talking about
what's going on at Arby's, and somebody's
like, how's the peach cobbler going?
And then someone.
He's like a manager or works at an Arby's.
He's like, well, too well, I
love him and so do my customers.
Only problem is that they take five minutes
than the fryer to cook, and they sell
so quickly with the meat in three boxes.
We're constantly making more, and
I dread the day we run outta stock.
Oh, what are you gonna do Then?
I think it's gonna be some sort of
a backlash, some sort of a walk.
The plank situation, does that happen?
You just run out.
Uh, well, they, yeah.
There's not unlimited supply.
I know, but like, these things are,
these things are well regulated.
You are like, we're getting this
many people buying them, and then
they, they make more at the plant.
I love the fact that you've got employees
weighing in on the Arby's sub, well,
you know what I'm doing tonight,
asking r slash bs until I fall asleep.
You're gonna be asking 'em
all types of questions.
Yes.
Like what?
Look out for the red mc
handle coming in there hard.
I'm finally gonna become
active on Reddit again.
You, you think you've, you saw something
when I put my long grapes on there.
You just wait until I get on the r/bys.
I had a couple people comment on my
long grapes after you talked about Yeah.
Its existence.
Yeah.
Uhhuh, were the comments good?
Is there a dipping sauce for They were
encouraging answering the question.
I, that's what I was gonna ask
about the cobbler role situation.
No dipping sauce.
'cause you need to have
like a, come on, keep look.
Vanilla ice cream replacement
or something, you know?
Yeah.
Uh, crosses, frosting.
You know, something, another
employee said, new item is fire.
We deep fry them for five
minutes and they are banging.
Crust is similar to cinnamon toast.
Crunch filling is very creamy and peachy.
Okay.
We'll be the judge of that.
Oh, there's cream.
Inside.
Inside, inside.
I'm gonna break it open for us.
You, I, I'm gonna dip mine in arby sauce.
Oh, what?
So I think if you look down the,
the barrel, the barrel of it,
there's a, I think that's suppo.
There's like cream right in there.
But it's, it's a bit hardened at this point.
Hmm hmm.
That's pretty tasty.
It has a little bit of a McDonald's
apple pie taste on the outside, but
more cinnamon like daddy is there.
Is there hardened cream or is that a lie?
Hardened cream.
That's what you said.
You said it looks cream.
Oh, like a cream.
Yeah.
That is what I said.
This is a James Harden, uh, collaboration.
I thought this was hardened
cream, but it's not.
It's just pastry.
It's just pastry.
There's no hardened cream.
I think it's just creamy.
It's just creamy.
So dip it in the au jus.
Probably not.
Some people think that it tastes like
apples because they're being tricked.
It's definitely peachy.
People besides that.
Uh huh.
Where.
On r/bys
on Dani's review.
Dani thought it might.
I thought I tasted Apple, but that
must have been the cinnamon ha,
which was present enough to
suggest apple cinnamon flavors.
What else has happened on r/bys?
If you think Apple, you think peach tastes
like apple and you're a food reviewer.
You got, you need to watch out.
Okay.
Sorry, Dani.
Just a couple of highlights here.
This is good.
Oh, the Arby's I grew up with.
Somebody went back to
Arby's and took pictures.
Huh?
They're old pictures.
You can't see 'em fresh out of the fryer.
Not driven over here.
I, I wouldn't have 'em delivered.
My thyroid was fine,
then I saw my antibodies.
That's an ad. Yeah.
Uh, why are you making me
think about my thyroid?
All of a sudden, they have
fried thyroids at Arby's.
I'll take the curly fries and fried
thyroids about the curly thyroids.
I mean, it does kind of curl around.
Oh, it does.
We can curl that thing up.
You think you can curl a thyroid?
What is a thyroid?
It's a, it releases things your body needs
and for some reason it's right there.
It's like a butterfly around
your gole and, and stuff that
regulates things come out of it.
That sounded smart.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Yep.
And you can get nodules on 'em.
And, uh, if they're above a certain
size, then you need to start,
you need start checking that out.
Somebody feels very strongly about bringing
back the jamoca shake potato cakes and
chicken cord on blue to Arby's, Canada.
Oh, Jamoca Shake.
I act as if I've had a Jamoca shake in
the past 20 years and I haven't, but it
made me sad to think that it was gone.
That remember that that would bring you back.
No, I think it's just gone in
Canada is what that post is saying.
Here we go.
Brings all the Canadians to the yard.
I'm currently.
Working a shift at a Love's Owned by Arby's.
Have you been into a Love's that
has an Arby's attached to it?
Talking about a truck stop.
It's a a MA. Okay.
All right.
Okay, here we go.
This is it.
First of all, the top comment right
now is thanks for your service.
And then this guy says, does
it get busy at all overnight?
What's the busiest day you've ever seen?
Sales wise, typically, no, not
right in, not in the winter.
Yeah, in the summer we've gotten
$1,500 a night on average.
Right now it's probably five to $700 a night.
Just depends on the night really.
That doesn't sound like
a lot for restaurants.
The original hundreds of dollars.
Yeah, the, or Hey, it's a convenience store.
The original person says Makes sense.
What sales does your Arby's do in a year?
Okay.
And then the guy says, honestly, not sure.
I'm not in a high enough
position to know that.
And then the guy says, that's fair.
What are you doing right now?
What are you, okay?
What whatcha doing right now?
Drive through back line.
What is this?
Come on line.
Oh, I'm shift lead.
I'll usually prep for the next day
and clean what needs clean to make
the next day run smooth as possible.
Sometimes my shift doesn't go
so well because of my crew.
Hmm.
What's wrong with your crew?
I'm also a shift lead.
What?
Oh God.
We got Arby's employees
talking to one another.
I'm also a shift lead.
It's that suddenly I'm very interested
and I do the same thing as you.
Except not overnight.
So they're like interlopers, interlocks.
So they're blaming each
other for why they're shit.
Are you a morning person?
I assume it's a bit tricky doing
prep during a lunch or dinner rush.
Yes.
Usually morning.
I only close twice a week.
Gotcha.
Does your Arby's do breakfast?
Continue this thread?
I'm having to, I'm gone now.
I've drilled down just into the thread,
these two people just talking to each
other about having the same job at Arby's.
No, I tried convincing them,
but they said, no, don't do it.
It's a mid as hell.
What?
Don't tell me that.
Just the truth.
What state is your store located?
Michigan.
What about yours?
Stately neighbors.
Then Ohio.
That's it.
The, the phrase mid as hell is, I
don't know, it just kind of like my, my
expectations went from here to like here.
You know, it's like the it,
those things don't go together.
It's like.
Like that was quite a journey though.
Like averagely awful.
Yeah.
Okay.
I mean, I don't know.
I was pretty intrigued.
Mid as hell.
Oh, you could put the potato
cakes on the beef and cheddar.
What?
Look at that.
Somebody just put potato cakes on the
beef and so you're going to Arby's,
you're not, you are not ordering this.
You are ordering this.
Sadly, the store, by me closed, I mean,
I'm gonna be up late doing this, so
no reason to drag y'all through it.
Get back to us.
The thing that bummed me out was that
on Sunset, there was a historic big
Arby's sign, like the big hat took,
they took it down, the Arby's wasn't
there, and then they made it a what?
It was a Prince.
It was a Prince Street Pizza, which
is, I like Prince Street Pizza.
But it had the, it was confusing to have
an Arby sign bigger than a billboard
there, but it was kind of a cool sign.
I bet you they took it
down and it's somewhere.
It's gotta be somewhere.
It's somewhere somewhere better.
Yeah.
You know what?
Maybe we, let's go find it.
Maybe we wanna buy it.
Hey, let's go find it.
Take pictures of it, and then
that's my first post on r/bys.
Leave me out of it.
