Let's try items from Mixue. Welcome to Good Mythical More. Mixue. Youxue? is the biggest fast food chain in the world. Even more locations than McDonald's. Yes. All. What are the numbers? So, just for point of reference, McDonald's uh, has over 38,000 locations now that is often estimated to be between 41,000 and 44,000. Maybe, they grow so fast, we don't know the exact number. They're currently in over 100 countries now. There's about 40,000 Mixue locations in mainland China alone, and they have expanded their presence very quickly over the past few years, and now they're over 47,000 locations. 47,000 of these. Now. We just got our first one in LA. It's super, that's impressive. There's a couple in New York, but I will say they only serve drinks. And soft, soft and ice cream. And apparently the business model is they make most of the money. The overall company makes most of the money through selling merch. People like the merch. They like the mascot. As you can see, this guy, we'll talk about him in a second. And the equipment to make all the drinks, it's proprietary from Mixue. So if you wanna open one of these up, you gotta buy the equipment from them. Okay? So that's one of the reasons that they're able to sell. All of this so cheap. So if you bring up the menu, just look at the prices. This is the menu in LA, this thing, we got 1.19 for the soft serve. Yeah. The most expensive thing on the whole menu is the super triple milk tea and S 4 99. Wow. There's a few things that are 4 99, but there's nothing over $5 as far as I can tell. And so 49 cents for each additional topping. I assume Boba is one of those. Yeah, so you could, you could go big, you could also go very sugary. You see the, the, the little bars down there, those green bars. So yeah, on the left, the, the, uh, blue ones, ice options, you got normal and reg and, uh, light and regular on the sugar options. It goes from no sugar to 200% sugar. But, but the, I don't even know what that means. The fidelity. Is there's eight different levels of sugar, which is wild. Dude. Yeah, I do like how, like the options are all very spelled out for you as opposed to like Starbucks, which is also like a drinks only pretty much place. True to know, like a pump and what is a, like how much is in a pump versus, yeah. This is a simple system. Very simple, very easy to understand. They invite customization, but on their terms. Yeah, and they spell it out for you. I mean, there's even a whole section I can't read about cup types that you can read a whole paragraph down there on the menu. Now these tees are bulba style, where you use these things to pop in there. Let, let's start with one that's not sweet. You wanna go refreshing. Yeah. Refreshing. First. This is the fresh lemonade. Yeah. So pop lemonade, no toppings, regular sugar levels. This was a dollar 99. Mixue translates to honey snow. That is a. Honey is Mi, Xue is snow. You want some honey snow? When you said honey is me, I still thought you were talking about yourself. Literally, that's You have your own, oh, you have your own. When I go to Starbucks, I refuse to order by their sizing conventions. I say medium. I just is that grande? I don't know. I don't care. Like you play by my rules. You translate. I also speak in English. How'd you, how did you do that? I don't, I went hard. Oh, now I'm going off. I think I topped, I think I topped it. Uh, it came out of there, 'cause my fist actually hit the, oh, should I go low with the straw or high with the straw? I went, I went, I went grande with the straw and it was fine. The thing about a drink. See this, uh, I always like to go high with the straw, with an ice drink, so I'm getting, I don't like to use the straw because I want to drink the top, not the bottom, because I want to drink where the ice is. It's gonna be warmer down here, but it's not gonna be too warm. It has been. That's what, but start heat rises, so it should be coldest at the bottom. Uh, ice floats. So it's, are you telling me that the whole time you're drinking an iced coffee? If you had a straw, you would be hovering at the top and like an iced coffee? Yes. There's no way I could have a conversation with a person doing that. That's why I take this. I'd be, look, you'd be concentrating so hard. I just take that out and I'd just, that should have been on the side. That's what I should have done right there. Well, now you got two holes. I've got a breathing hole. This is perfect. Breathe. Yeah, so the, the cup out, the, the lemonade breathes. I, I never seen anybody make so many things so complicated. I could also breathe through the hole. Let's see what halfway. That makes things simple. Oh, I, when I breathe in this hole, it puts lemon zest into my nose, and then I, then, then it tells me to breathe through my nose. And I, so I'm gonna breathe in through my mouth. Smell the lemon. Yeah. And then I'm gonna breathe. So you can't have a conversation with somebody doing this. I'm gonna breathe into my nose and outta my mouth and see what happens. You're like, Hey, let's go to Mixue. I've got something serious I'm gonna talk to you about. And next thing you know is like, hold on, lemme put two holes in my drink. So I'm gonna blow. I can't blow and sniff at the same time. It's called circular breathing. Some people could do it. And I Great trumpeters. I know I played trumpet. Yeah, but you couldn't do circular breathing. I never saw you put a note out forever. Because you're pu, you're taking your tongue and you're pushing, and I don't think they're actually doing a constant flow when they're doing circular breathing. I think you're blowing and then like you're blowing. I don't know how you do it. What's this one? Circular breath. Hold on, let's talk about this one. Because other than it's nice making it super technical. It tastes like sugary lemonade, which there's nothing to complain about there. I just try to stay away from it. It's, that's nice. That's nice. Now this, I'm gonna, so now what I've, I've learned from my mistakes. I'm gonna put one hole over here and then I'm gonna put another hole over here on, on opposite hemispheres. Look at what it says on the straw. So now well shoot, I shouldn't have done that because now my nose has nothing to do. I, I love you. You love me. Doesn't Barney have a, have a copyright on that? Now, I'm gonna have to go deep for, that's the point of going deep to get the boba. I hope it's not hot down there. It's okay. So is this why you put cold drinks and coozies? Not because you're sensitive hands, but because you don't wanna make them warm? Uh, both. Oh, yeah. It's just the right answer. I carry Kies when I, I put one in my suitcase. I just love a good koozie. It's nice to have, this is extra special right here. What is oolong? Is there egg in it? It's a type of tea that never tastes this good when I make it for myself. So what am I chewing right now? It's probably peach. 'cause you said it's peach oolong, right? Oh, it is peach. It is. Pea diced peaches. Mm-hmm. Belongs a um, Chinese tea that is produced with the process that includes withering the leaves under strong sun, allowing some oxidation to occur. Yeah, they're like burnt leaves. I've never gotten it because I thought there was egg in it. I think there's also pearls in, in this peach long tea. So you could have had peach and you could have had some pearls. Uh, I think it's just peach pearls, but it's very good. We did ask for them to add pearl, but whether or not they need it in, yeah, the, the peach is reminiscent of a peach and a fruit cocktail. Mm-hmm. Peach, that's like processed peach, but good. I like it better than the lemonade. If you go high with the straw is not as sweet. So if you wanna regulate the sweetness over time, what I would suggest doing is put the go with high straw and as you suck sink. Now the frost, what's he called? The snow king. Snow king. The snow king is doing something different on the top of every one of these things. Maybe king shui, I don't know. Because shui does mean snow. Yes, he is the sway king. So yeah, sway king on the top of this one. He's um, he's flying and holding a noodle. He's holding a noodle in this one too. But he is not flying This one, his heart is bursting with love. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Yeah. But when you mix it up, it's all the same temperature right now. Yep. Uh, so I, I've learned from my mistake. Mm-hmm. This goes in the corner, this goes where the nose goes, and this is the most expensive one we got for 3 99 at a penny more than our chu long tea. Mm-hmm. It's pretty T forward. Yeah, it is. But don't tell me. Don't tell me this is pudding. If it tastes like tea, no, but once you adjust to it, it just tastes like milk tea. It just tastes like milk tea. I don't know where the pudding comes from. It gets people like me to buy it. I just had a little thing come out and get on the side of my straw and it's slowly going down. That's what's in my mouth now. It's like a gooey. It is not a boba, but what is that? It's a tapioca. I think that's the pudding. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's tapd. Tapioca is pudding. There we go. But that's right. I guess I never get this kind of drink. Tapioca is pudding. I never get this kind of drink. It just feels like such a, I think like you gotta like go on a big old walk after this. And if it tastes amazing, it's got a really strong flavor. I'm gonna drive to downtown. Hmm. That's got a strong vanilla flavor. Okay. That's getting me excited. What is that? Ooh. Yeah. It tastes like a, um. Very homemade. Mm-hmm. And it's, it's, the texture is almost homemade. Mm-hmm. It's not as smooth as I usually enjoy. Yes. I wouldn't say it was icy, but it's got some texture to it that's like an iness. Hmm. I like it a lot. I want it to be smoother, but I, the flavor is incredible. I like it not being smooth. Why? It's like a, like a cat's tongue. You ever leaked a cat's tongue? No. I guess that would be frenching a cat. I, I mean, I haven't either. I thought maybe you had, why'd you asked me? Because I thought I was wondering if you had Um hmm. It's too icy. No, it's not. Oh. The smoothness of a, of a soft serve, like a really, like so smooth that almost tastes like it's got butter in it. I know that that can be done. And I like it better than this. I've already got an ice cream headache because of this. Oh, grab the back of your neck. Doesn't work. It does work. You have to turn upside down. Well, don't Too late. It's gone now. I ate some of the cone and have an opinion about it. Oh, no cream. No cream down there. Hmm. Look at that. No cream. You gotta, you gotta push it hard. You gotta force the cream in. This is, um, this is very classic it hasty freeish. What's your opinion about the cone? I think the cone tastes good. I love it, but I don't appreciate the cream not going all the way to this is my favorite sauce. Serve ice cream. Well, let me see it in the context of a sundae. 'cause I like. $3 and 56, the flavor quite a bit. J Super cookies. Super Cookies, Sunday, super cookies. And that's the other thing that they're, they're um, they make their money from is not just the merch, but the equipment that they sell to the franchises. 'cause you have to use specific. Presumably full of ice cream. You get 15% off. Y'all wanna go to Mixue? Only 50 of you though. Um, I have opinions about that. Do they do that? Many people go, what is it like tour buses? I mean, you could probably get 50, how you got 50 people going to a place just to get a drink or a soft syrup? I think office parties. Office parties, you know. Yeah. Did you form, did you eat this informative opinion of it? I ate three big bites and each bite confirmed something. Hmm. Well, it's the same ice cream, which I already love. I, but what? I don't like the syrup. The chocolate is not good. The chocolate is not good. What about the cookies though? The cookies are fine. Um. I ate the chocolate and the cookies together, eat, and I didn't like the taste. Eat the cookie without the syrup. The cookie's good. Yeah, it's just like Oreo the syrup though. What syrup's not good. What's wrong with the syrup? How do I explain this? It tastes like. Fake chocolate, like something that would be extruded out if you eat nest quick. No Hershey, uh, Hershey's, uh, chocolate, the liquid and um, there's something liquid hand sign. There's something. Yeah, there's something in that in there that is real fakey and there's like three times as much here as is in that. It tastes like that, but with a different flavor profile. I am just going back to this, the cheapest thing on the menu is the best thing I've had of its kind anywhere. This is, this is for me and all of China apparently. Lemme go back to just the vanilla. It's just such a winner. I don't think it's better than Dairy Queen. Sorry, you said it is? It is. Oh, wow. Yeah, he said it is. I don't think it's better than Dairy Queen. Oh, the ice cream.
