Which of these animals is the deadliest? Welcome to Good Mythical More. Animals kill people. Animals kill people every year. And in any given year- How many do they kill? … some of them kill a lot more than others. Some of them kill less than one. Some of them kill a million. There is an animal that we're gonna talk about today that's killed a million people in one year on average. And it, yeah. What? I already know what one that is. I won't spoil it for you. That's crazy, man. E- I mean, even tw- 200,000 people. Yeah. 25,000 people killed by an animal. Animal. Yeah. What? What? Killed by an animal. What? 25,000 people. So we're gonna put- Bears … we're gonna put, we're gonna start with bears. Bears will kill you. Now- So any type of bear at all? Well, well, yeah. Ev- all bears- All bears … all together, like koalas? A koala bear is not a koala bear. It's not a bear. Okay, so we're talking about the- You can't just say that … uh, we're talking about polar bears, black bears, grizzly bears, those kinds of bears. What about those little bears that are microscopic that live forever under all types of obscene conditions? Uh, what are they called? Uh- Nudi- nudie bears Tartar grade. Yeah, those not included. I don't think they kill anybody. Mm. So somebody got killed by a grizzly bear in Yellowstone this year, and it's news. It makes the news- Yeah … when somebody gets killed by a bear. How did that happen? In the US. Do you know? Did you read about it? I read a little bit about it. Or were you just looking for a video? I, so this was a guy that … No, I don't go for bear killing videos. Uh, this guy was a experienced backpacker, and the thing that was so alarming about it is that he had bear spray, and he had deployed the bear spray, and presumably had dep- deployed the bear spray competently. Okay. And still died. And so, but again- See, that's why we got the bear bag, y'all. But this is, li- like, nobody gets killed by bears in California. Like, black bears don't kill people really that often. I mean, I'm sure it happens. Polar bears will kill you. Polar bears are one of the only species of bears that will specifically hunt people, and you know they're killing some people. And then you, like, include Russia, which is, like, 11 time zones. There's lots of bears. But I think we're s- we're talking about 500 or less people, and probably 50 or less people. So, all right, so this puts us at 50. That feels about right. I'd say it's either 50 or … I think you're- I just put it on 10. You put it on 10. I think it's either 10 or 50. Okay. Because once you take into account Russia. Sure. I just think maybe there's bears doing a lot of damage there. I don't know. We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll revisit the bears. Don't worry, we'll revisit the bears. But now we are moving on to the crocodiles. Crocodilians. I just wanna look at this guy. Well, I mean, well, if you get in them jaws, you are dead. Crocodiles- 'Cause he's gonna do a roll … kill a lot of people in Africa. Um. They're bathing and- You get too close to the water. I think they kill people in India. I think we're in the, I think we're in the 500 to, to 30 to 50. We're- You think we're at 30… 3,000 people. I, I, let's just say 1,000 for right now. Right now. It happens pretty regularly, but it is not, like- Super, super-duper common. That's my guess. I mean, we know we got, like, sharks coming up s- at some point probably. And we have a bear bag, but we don't have a crocodile bag on set, so- Crap know that. Crapola. Can I start saying that? Will you be my friend still? Crapola? Crapola. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I don't hate it. Yeah. Crap- -pola. Crapola. Scorpions. Scorpions, oh, they can, they can strike. I think they just, I think they sting you, but how many do they, how many k- kill you? I mean, I went to a guy's house and he took a scorpion out and started playing with it. Did he do the blacklight thing? Yeah. That's cool. Yeah. But he was like, "Oh, it's like a really bad bee sting." Now, there's different species obviously, and there's some that are more venomous than others, but how many people can a scorpion kill? 500? I mean, don't you feel like we're over here in, oh, you think we're, you think we're over here. We might be 50 at scorpions and 10 with bears. So you think scorp- yeah, I think scorpions kill more people because you don't- They're littler. When a bear's coming after you, you know it. I mean, it might be, it might be 3,200, dude. I don't know wh- I think more people die by scorpion than crocodile because- Well, but we live in the desert here, and we've seen scorpions. And is it just that we don't have the bad scorpions, and there's bad scorpions somewhere, and they're killing thousands of people? I just don't think this is true. I mean, when we went camping in Death Valley, I remember- You just looked at it … looking down and there were just, like, scorpions on the ground. Everywhere. It's like- Nobody, nobody died. I'd put it at 500 10. Crapola, you wanna go all the way to 10? I just don't know how to do this in reverse in my brain. Let's put up a 500 and just see what happens. Okay, so now we're gonna keep those together. I don't know how I feel about that, 'cause we haven't seen s- oh, snakes. Snakes are gonna come up here, and snakes are gonna be … Ooh, snakes might- A million people. No, that's gonna be mosquitoes, but w- well, I don't wanna spoil it for you. Uh- But you, but you had to say it just so- Yes … when you were right- Yeah … everyone would know that you were right. Right. Exactly. You just had to do it. Yep. You had to spoil it. Yep. You cared more about- You think, you think a million people get killed by snakes? … people thinking you were smart. You think a million people die by snakes? Really? Yeah. Crapola, you're not that dumb. No. Freshwater snails. What do you mean that dumb? It's like I'm on a dumb scale, but not- Well, okay, yeah. You're on the dumb spectrum, but how dumb are you? Oh, no, no, no. You're on a … Well, you're on a- Mm-hmm … you're on a I want people to know that I'm not dumb spectrum. You … Everybody knows it's mosquitoes, man, right? Come on. All right. Um, okay. Freshwater snails. Freshwater snails. Crapola. Do people eat freshwater snails and die from them? 'Cause I know they're not attacking anybody. This is a food poisoning situation. They get a lot of junk inside of them. They're just, like, bottom-feeders, basically. I think we're going less than one, unless people eat them and then they die. I think we- Well, we don't have a less than one placard. We only have a greater than one. Oh. Greater than one. Greater than one. But it's supposed to be less than one. So that's all of it. Supposed to be less than one. All right. One V. All right. Uh, so we're gonna put snails here, right? Crapola. Why, well how, why would we not? Nobody dies from freshwater snails? I just think that somebody, two people die a year. I think the, I think the freshwater snail is a red herring, and that's confusing 'cause that's another animal. Red herrings, how many do they They, they kill. Less than one. Not if they get into a airplane engine. Oh, God. Oh, God. A red herring. All right, here we go. Where to sharks now? They don't kill very many people at all. But Australia, they kill everybody in Australia. You get in the water, stick a, stick a toe in, you come out without a toe. It's 50 or less. It's definitely 50 or less. They don't kill 500 people every year. You think grizzly b- somebody's got, something's gotta kill more people. So, so- If you're trying to think- Great, great whites are pretty active off the coast of Southern California, and how often do we hear about somebody getting killed by one? Like, very rarely, but it does happen. People will die off the coast of North Carolina as well. I mean, we, there's news stories about that, but it's, most of the time it's like somebody gets a limb bitten off and they don't die. I just think that more people have died by shark than bear Well, that might be true, but I think they're both 50 or less. 'Cause you're just said, uh, like I think we should switch those two. I think Russia, man. I think bears are doing damage there. But people are swimming in that- Polar bears. People are swim- Okay. We share the land with the bears. We don't really share the water with the sharks. But when we get in the water, we just, like dangle our legs like bait. We flail our ar- we basically beg them to eat us the way that we f- just flail around in the water and bleed. Bleed and ooze and, in the water. We're doing all of that stuff. I mean- I do think that sharks are 10 or 50, but I, I, I'm not confident in either, in either one. I just don't think that a bear- I just feel like bears are worse. All right. Here's your mosquitoes. Okay. Well, wonder- This is sadly the big one. This is a million people. And it's actually significantly less than it used to be. And it's so preventable. That's why there's, like- But a lot of people don't have anywhere to work … organizations that we've worked b- with in the past, like Malaria No More, that distributes nets, and it just saves lives. Yes. Pretty awesome. I think Malaria No More is still going. We can get that number down to zero. A million. Now, maybe that number is less than a million now. Maybe it's down to 200,000, but I don't- Because of, because of our work with Malaria No More- Mm, well, I didn't say that. You did. We saved half a million lives. Well, it would be more than that. But- … I don't know, uh, I, I don't know. I don't know. 'Cause 200,000 is a lot of people as well. That's gonna be some other type of insect, right? Well, it could be hippos, because we know that they eat people. Hippos are the Man, they are so deadly. I think that they may kill between 3,000 and tw- and tw- there's no way they- 25,000? They don't, there's no way they kill 25,000. But I think they kill 3,250. They- What about tigers? Hi- hippo's kill more than tigers. Tigers ain't on here. Crapola, I wonder if tigers are coming. Oh. Tigers. Here we go. Dogs. Dogs. Dogs. Okay. Dogs are everywhere. Dogs kill a lot of people, man. That's the thing with- 200,000 people? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Man's best friend. Dogs kill 25- 25,000 people? 20, maybe tw- okay, 'cause you got dog bites that turn to rabies. That happens. You've got diseases that come from your dogs. Sometimes when people get bit by a dog, they just give up the ghost. You ever heard of that? Giving up the ghost. Have I ever heard that phrase? Yeah. Yeah, you should use it more. That's why- I'll use crapola. Yeah. You use give up the ghost. Yeah, give up the ghost. Some people, they get bit by a dog once, just giving up the ghost. So this has got, this can't be just for, this is dog bites that lead to infection, and this is diseases that are acquired from dogs. There's just so many dogs everywhere. There's so many dogs. So many more than hippos. Like, you come into contact with dogs. This is also dogs, like, pushing you off stuff. Oh. D- a dog, tripping over dogs. People trip over dogs. Yep. Mm-hmm. People- Slow deaths after tripping over dogs … a dog barks at a, at the wrong time. Dogs in the car. People l- Oh, God … drive with their dogs in the car. Like, they're, they're, they're driving and there's a poodle hanging over their arms. Yes, death, death, death awaits. That's, that's illegal. You c- you can't do that. Death awaits that- Christy got pulled over. I was about to say, how do you know that? Christy got pulled over by a local magistrate. And she's like, "What? What, what?" I was like, "Ma'am, you can't have your dog in your lap." She's like, "Well, she refuses to be anywhere else." And now you got, you have the- We've got these carriers … we've gotta get those because Jessie picked me up the other day from somewhere, and she had brought Barbara and Sean, and, like, they're both, like, in the dash basically, like, looking at me, like, so excited to see me. And I, and then- In the dash? Like, basically, like, all the way up there with their heads against the windshield. And I'm like, we can't have this. We c- we need, we… First of all, it's not safe- Yeah … for them, but it's not safe for us as well. We gotta put the dogs in something. 'Cause Sean just walks around the car the whole time. He'll roll down every window and if you don't put the, the locks on. Well, I mean, the f- f- Jasper loved to ride in a car, so I, and I learned this pretty early. And so I would drive him around and, and one day we were on our street, I was driving on our street, which is a cul-de-sac. It's pretty relatively, uh, low traffic area, and I had the window rolled down, and I saw Christy walking. I think this is how it happened. I think she was there, or maybe it was something else. Something triggered Jasper and he jumped out of the car. He jumped out of the window. Ooh, that's bad. Started going after it, and then I immediately stopped the car and then went after him. But, like- And that's how you- It might've been Christy when you, when you got the thing, after that Uh, well, I got the thing after she got the ticket, but they happened closely together I think. I saw a w- They love to ride in the car … a woman on TikTok was talking about how cul-de-sacs are really bad feng shui. This woman literally was making this, she was like, "Don't live on a…" She was, like, to- totally serious and she was like, "Don't live on a cul-de-sac because of the energy." The energy of it? The energy gets completely stuck, so people who live on cul-de-sacs, they're just stuck energetically. And I thought about you. And, uh, I was like, "Hmm. I wonder if there's any-" The, uh, the last thing I am is stuck energetically. I wonder if there's anything to that. I am not stuck- I, well, I think- … energetically … but I think there's a backside to your cul-de-sac. Like, there's, like, a trail or something. There's a way out of your cul-de-sac. There's a energy leak? I think there's an energy leak, so things keep- It's called a creek … things keep moving. There's a creek back there. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah. I think you're okay. Yeah, yeah, and my energy continues to flow out. I think you're okay. Cul-de-sac, uh, people, please comment and let us know. Is your energy stifled? Is y- yeah, yeah. Are you stuck energetically? Are you stuck in a cul-de-sac? Call me. Piranhas. This is- Man- This is not 200,000 people … piranhas don't really kill people, they- They, they like, they- Nibble? They eat things that are, like, already dead or something. So you're saying this is the red herring? No, I'm not saying they don't kill anybody. N- I don't think they kill t- maybe two people. It's e- it's either a lot of people or nobody. It's not, it's not a lot of people, so I don't know. I, I don't think, I th- I … Hmm. But, uh, freshwater snails- Do you think it's less than … Freshwater snails don't kill people, buddy … kill more people than piranhas? Piranhas have, they've got a reputation. Oh, no, stingrays. Now here we are to, like- Okay, all right, so big time adjustment here So, so- We're moving dogs … Steve Irwin. W- m- yeah. We're saying- Famously died. He did. So we know it can happen. All right, Link- Of course, just laughing about it, Mikayla, is, uh- … a totally different thing. We have to move- The thing is the dated reference that we laughed at. All right, we've got- Steve Irwin is a dated reference? His untimely death was, uh, a, a time ago. Well, yeah. You're saying it's not too soon now? But the family's doing great. Yeah. But whenever the family talks about him, they still cry. That, that's allowed. They knew him. I feel like I knew him. Yeah, okay, you can cry, Rhett. All right, Link. I didn't know him till he died. I, I- Unfortunately, we live in a time- Do you know how to do the stingray shuffle? It's important … I think that freshwater snails are one of our multiple thousands. That's, that's my bet on this. There's something about freshwater snails. Pe- there's no way people- Are we done? thousands of people are dying from stingrays. This is a little- Not, not happening. But freshwater snails, people are eating them, and they are dying in large numbers. And so it's either the dogs are 25,000 or the dogs are 200,000. I'm comfortable putting the dogs at 200,000 because it's, it all cause mortality from dogs, which is, includes dogs pushing people off cliffs, tripping people, that stuff. Chase, are you gonna be able to tell us how many we got right? Yep, but slower if you keep changing things. I'm not changing anything. I'm a, so- Freshwater snails might be 200,000 people … we, we just moved freshwater snails. Well, it's, it's, it- Well, what, what are you doing? What are you trying to make for stingrays? Oh, stingrays. Okay. Hippos, 3,250. Two people I think we have to move bears down I think stingrays is just two people. What? And Steve Irwin is one of them. It's only, like, really famous- I'm sorry … wildlife people? I shouldn't have said that. He was a great man, and his son, and, and his, his son and daughter and his wife, his, his late wife, they're really, they're really- She died, too? They're flor- No, they're- They're really flourishing. Late wife? You mean- His- … widow … widow. Late wife. Yeah, he's a late husband. He's gonna kill her. She's a early wife. All right. I think she's on time most of the time. Okay, hold on. So let's just go with level of confidence. So mosquitoes, very confident. Freshwater snails, not confident. But it's gotta be some, there, people, people eating them in droves. I think the relative, to me, the, the things that are really messing us up are the stingrays- The bear of it all. I just feel like we need to switch these two. Let's switch these. You think more people die from sharks than bears? I said it again. Okay. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just, I wanna make sure that, that- Yes, how many- … you're confident in this. I'm confident. 50 people a year die from… That's about right. Okay, how many do we have wrong? Just one moment. Oh, I thought you were gonna say just one. Just one, dude? Just one wrong? You have four wrong. Four wrong? But see, everything can cascade. So we know this is right. Mosquitoes is right. You can just go ahead and tell us. You think that one is right, yeah You're right, yeah, mosquitoes Okay. Mosquitoes are the number one on this list. All right, so we can just… We're good with that. We can just do, do one of these. If it's turned sideways, it's right. See, but the problem is shifting. Do we need to do a shift? Okay. A seismic shift? Okay, if I switch- No, not a seismic shift … would shifting sharks and bears be a good idea? Yes, it would. Okay. All right. Oh, so I was wrong. Okay. I'll swallow that pill. How many do we have wrong now? You now have two wrong. Okay. Okay. Two. All right. Okay. Okay. Good job, Rhett. Okay. Okay. So we've got- Only two, so- That means we've gotta switch two of them. Mm-hmm. Now… It could be stingrays and piranhas. It could be stingrays and piranhas. The only person who died that year from a stingray was Steve Irwin. You know what? It is really unlikely. It was a, it was very unusual, and if you average it out, Steve Irwin might be the only person to have ever died from a stingray, and that's why it's less than one. It's on average. It's 'cause it stung him, like, right in the heart. Right in the heart. It's just like, how the heck did that happen? Crapola. Like, freak accident. You know? You know. So you wanna go with that? You wanna switch stingrays and piranhas? Yes. How are snails up here at 200,000? Four incorrect. Golly, Chase. All right, move that back. That ain't it. Okay, so we were right about that. We were right about those. That's interesting. Dogs and snails, we're switching that. Hold on, hold on, hold on, before you, before, before you do that, before you switch dogs and snails… Well, we don't have a limited number of switches. Did you just switch dogs and snails? Yeah. Four incorrect. Okay, yeah. See? I think that it's scorpions and a- and crocodiles, or crocodiles and hippos. And I think it's scorpions and crocodiles. Every time you've done a swap so far, it's been two that are directly next to each other, and I wouldn't do that. Oh, gosh, Chase. Scorpions and hippos. Nope. Hippos is a lot, man. Scorpions needs to move up. Link, what did you say? Which ones were you thinking about swapping? Hippos and scorpions. Hippos and… Just do it. Do it. Scorpions kill a lot of people. And, and now we're saying that crocodiles kill more than hippos. That was my lifeguard whistle from the main… Which means you got it. We got it? Okay. Did I not tell you that beforehand? Why on earth are so many people dying from- Yeah … fresh water snails? Just when they get into a frenzy, they move so fast. And no one sees it coming. Enough of them can kill anybody. They just overwhelm, like, zombies? People are eating them, right? Uh, they're, they're like, they're hosts for, uh, like, flat, parasitic flatworms that can get into people. And great dinner parties. And lots of people eat them? The fresh water snails? Yeah. Uh- Apparently … I think so, yeah. And what about these dogs? To me, that's crazy. Dogs are also, like, it's a lot of, like, you know, um, you can get rabies from dogs. Yeah. They, like, transmit disease, unfortunately- What you said … to people. So scorpions are killing a lot of people someplace. Crocodiles, that's expected. Hippos kill less people than crocodiles, and hippos have a bad reputation, okay? But crocodiles are more prolific than hippos. That's the problem. But one thing to realize here is that I think most people on a, on, like, that I know, are most scared of sharks, because they feel like they're out there in the water, and they feel like they are susceptible to the sharks. Like, people are scared of the water because of sharks. Yeah. And you should be. Look at, look at this. Only 10 people- I go to the water for the sharks. That's why I go to the- What are the chances that you're gonna be one of those, those 10 people? Right, just look at Steve Irwin. Really low. Cupola.
