We're playing This or That with desserts Welcome to Good Mythical More. We are going to be presented with two immaculate photos of desserts that have been enjoyed and photographed by our very own Brittany. Brittany, are you, um, on the mic? I'm here. That's so perfect for this because you took these photos 'Cause you'll travel around and you'll eat some stuff. Uh, yeah, exactly. Oh, gosh, you will. I will eat some stuff. I have found myself at a restaurant because of Brittany's recommendation a f- Mm-hmm … uh, a number of times. I'd say so far, pretty solid, Brittany. Oh, yeah. And thank God- So solid … 'cause I kinda sweat when I hear that. No, no, no, no, no. You do a good job. So, like, let's look at this first one. We've got this, which appears to be- Is that a marshmallow topping? Is that s'mores under, like a sm- Brownie-ish? That is a s'mores pizookie. Okay. Do you know about the pizookie? Yeah, from BJ's. BJ's? Yes. So this is from BJ's, or is it from a fancier place that's doing what BJ's does on, like, a- No, that's from BJ's. Oh. And I got it for free for my birthday- Oh … served to me by a Mythical Beast. Oh. How'd you find out they were a Mythical Beast? She w- um, saw me wearing my GMM sweatshirt, and my husband very quickly said, "She works on the show." Okay. Oh, dang. And then you got it for free. But you would've got it for free anyway. Well, it was my birthday pizookie, so yeah. Right. So we didn't really do anything for you. Did you get anything else for free? We know Brittany. She probably went to a few restaurants on her birthday. She loves something free. Yeah, I do, sue me. Yeah, I'll let Carney call you the cheapskate. I'm- So graham crackers, chocolate, and, uh- Marshmallows marshmallows. That's all that's in there. S'mores-mallows. Vanilla ice cream on top. You got s'mores-mallows on there? Yeah. It's, you know, the standard pizookie is chocolate chip, and this is the s'mores take on it. So I mean, is it good? It's good, but it's not something, like, I would never- I think I've had this choose to order it if I was ordering from a menu. If somebody brings it to me, I ate it. That's how I feel about- With a, with a burning candle in it … that's how I feel about pizookie. On the r- on the that side, we have… W- what kinda cannoli is this? That is a pistachio cream cannoli that I had in Rome. In Rome. This is quite- So that's pistachio cream and then pistachios. Correct. It looks a little crunchy for my taste. Uh-oh. It looks a little, looks a little- Well, it is a cannoli. It looks a little burnt, though. I don't like the brownness of that cannoli, and I'm not gonna talk about your thumbnail. Hold on. What are you looking for- You mean my… Oh, my God … in a cannoli, mushiness? I don't- The whole point is it's crisp. Is it, that's the, what a cannoli is. I don't like anything that tastes burnt except- Well, it doesn't look burnt at all … for bacon. Bacon's the only thing I can eat that looks, that is burnt. So I'm going with this. Brittany, would you say that that is burnt? Since I, I, I'm assuming you ate it. I know you s- I know you think I'm crazy. I would not, I would not say it was burnt. It was actually stale. I didn't wanna, you know- Oh … influence this, but- Maybe that's what I was picking up … I do wanna know what you think of my nail now. Is it, is it Sprite themed? It's lemons for the Amalfi Coast. Oh. Oh, yes. Uh, they had those lemons everywhere on… I almost got a shirt with them, but then I was like, "Boy, this won't look good when I get back home." What's that thing that people on the internet who like to comment have where they say they don't like bumpy things? A, a certain ph- I don't know … a certain phobia. But Carney whispered a joke to me that I couldn't say on mic. Carney, stop it. Either say it yourself. You're talking about tryptophobia. Don't… Tryptophobia. Tryptophobia. Oh, look. I'm gonna go with the cannoli on this one because I would not know that it was stale, and then I would be upset. Yeah, you would've been. So I'm going with that. Well, we have to agree, right? We're going with BJ's over Rome, and now for that we have added some sort of a- This is from a, this is from one of those restaurants. Is, is that a ch- is that salpicon? And, and is that those, like, fish? Those, like, uh, the waffle things in the back. Yeah. Are you asking if it's taiyaki? Yeah. It's not. Just, I just wanted to give you a chance to- I could run my hand on it … arrive on your own. Did you have a guess of where you thought it was from? No. No, 'cause it looks- I think this is- it looks much fancier than the stuff that I've had. I think this is a plum from, I think you're still in Rome. No, this is in LA. This is, uh, Petit Trois, the French place. They have a location in Hollywood and Sherman Oaks. Is that- And this is, like, a PB&J sundae. It's, um, peanut butter gelato, cassis sorbet, candied peanuts, marshmallow fluff, and chocolate sauce. What is the, what is that plum-looking thing? That's sorbet? That's the sorbet, yeah. That's the jelly sorbet. Oh, God. Uh, I'm going- I feel so stupid … I'm going with that on this one. We gotta go with that. You know, 'cause it's, it's interesting. I mean, there's peanut butter in it. There's jelly in it. It's not taiyaki. Having b- had both of these, would you go with that as well? See, I disagree with you on a Pizookie. I think it's one of the greatest treats in the world, so even though I thought that was a very good sundae, I would probably still go for the Pizookie. Oh, wow. I'm sorry. I apologize to- I would go for the cookie Pizookie to BJ's everywhere. But that right there, I don't know. There's no, there's no dough in there. Like, that's what I like about a Pizookie is, like, cookie dough-ish hotness. Well, there is. It's just under the marshmallow. It's a lot of gooey chocolate. Yeah. Dear God. Which is great. High burn hazard. So if something's burnt or can burn you. What happened to you as a child? Mm-hmm. Well, you were there for it. I never saw you get held down and burned or anything. Yes, it was your fault. So we're going with that against you, Brittany. I'm sorry. Oh, but we might decide to change. Oh, but that's- Is it- That is a peanut butter ha- It's a peanut butter pie? Yes. No, this is, this restaurant kind of bills itself as upscale Midwestern fare. Yeah. I, we, I have eaten with you in that, this restaurant this year. Oh, is that where we went with, um, somebody? Mike and Stephanie, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was this place, and they have a little cheese little shop at the top. And LaKeith Stanfield was in there. LaKeith Stanfield was in there, having a meeting with somebody. He was having a meeting, so we didn't talk to him. It, it seemed like they were trying to talk him into, like, a movie role or something. Yeah. That's what we suspected. Maybe he did it. He's in that movie with Kristen Stewart and, uh, Peekaboo Bryson, whatever her name is. What? What's her name? Well, I don't know who you're talking about. Come on, Hitch, it's very lesbian coded. Oh, I don't e- you can tell us about your little icy thing on the right, but- I mean, I'm not listening. I mean- This is Hawaii too … I agree. It's, it's shave ice from Uluan- Ululani's in Maui. I would go with the peanut butter pie over this too. Well, let's talk about shave ice because I did- Yeah … not know what shave ice really was. I thought it was a snow cone, and I was sorely mistaken until I went to, um, a place I'm sure you've been, and I don't know how to say it, but I'm gonna say Okabing? I know it. I actually haven't been because I don't care for shave ice that much. Is it in Koreatown? It's in Koreatown, and they go so high. Have y'all… Who's been to it? Oh, me. Okay, Nick's been to it. Oh, yeah, many times. And I was like, this is so much better than I thought it would be. I- is it as good as ice cream? No. But- Why is it not sh- um- 'Cause they literally shave the ice … snow cone? So snow cone is like a ice machine, like- Oh … krr. Okay. And then- The consistency of this is stronger … this is literally taking the- Yeah … there's these blocks of ice, and they're shaving it. I, I've seen that, yeah. I- And it gets so flu- it's so fluffy, and it's so tall, and it has this like… It like- But then you got the same syrups going in it, and when I got this- A little bit different … in Hawaii, I only liked it when I got to the ice cream that I ordered underneath it. It's just not- Well, that tells you something. I definitely don't think it's better than this, but- If it's hot and humid- … I just gotta say I appreciate it, and I, I do like a softened my butter if it's 110 degrees- You stick your face right in it … I'm, I might go with that, not, instead of this. You don't wanna eat this when you're, like, baking in the sun, lesbian or not. All right. So we're sticking with this. Now, that is- Is just straight up cookie dough? No, this is Graham Central Station from Handel's. Have you had it? Graham Central S- so Graham cracker ice cream? Yes. It… I don't wanna influence you. We- I'm also a peanut butter lover. I truly believe this is the greatest ice cream flavor of all time. Graham Central Station, Handel's. I got Christy to drive me to Handel's the other night. I haven't been yet. You've never been to Handel's? I've not been to Handel's. I'll get Christy to drive you there. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. 'Cause you will not be able to drive home. Well, will I be in the backseat? But then what's the … What is the base? A cup- The base is a graham cracker flavored ice cream, and there is, like, a graham cracker streusel mixed in. So, but you mentioned peanut butter. Were you talking about comparing it to the this? Is that what you meant? Yes. I was just saying I'm also a peanut butter lover, but- Oh, understood. Okay. Okay. How does … L- Let's just take a little side trail. I didn't see this, and I would … And I- Is Handel's, how does it compare to, let's just say, another, like, Salt & Straw? I also love Salt & Straw. It's more- Go on. I do think, yeah, Handel's is more of traditional flavors. More down home. I think the ice cream itself is maybe better, if I'm being honest. But I love the Salt & Straw creativity. What about Jeni's? It's g- like, more like Jeni's. But which is better? Does it matter? All ice cream can be good, right? Salt & Straw is a little too frou-frou, a little too fancy pants. Okay. Yeah, this is ice cream for the everyman. Yeah, and the vibes are fun at the one I go to. It's, like, it's outside, but you're lining up. And where do the Handel's come in? It's kinda like Swedish or something. Okay. Um- Handel. Handel. It's kinda like that. Well, I'm gonna have to take your word for it. I- Crap, I gotta try this now. I love ice cream, though. This is, this is a cake plug. This is the princess cake from Quarter Sheets Pizza. I haven't been to Quarter Sheets Pizza. What is that? You've gotta go to Quarter Sheets Pizza. Everybody says it's maybe the best pizza in Los Angeles, but there's, there- What's different about it? There's only… Well, it's Detroit style, right? Yes. So it's pan, pan, like Destr- Detroit style, but they only have a few different flavors in it. It's… We tried to do it for a party one time, and they were like, "Well," it's weird. Ordering there was weird. Like, "We can only do this many pizzas" or something, and then we just never went back. Um, okay. Well- I, I like Detroit style pizza, but. Let's talk about the pizza. Is it your favorite pizza in LA? It might be. Um, I think it's- Oh … it's up there. Me and your wife were talking about this. I was in the third row. She was driving. And- You need a driver there … we talk about pizza quite a bit, and we talked about Quarter Sheets, and I don't think either of us… You know what? That, I'm gonna have to go on a date with your wife. Uh, she's gonna drive me first to Quarter Sheets, and then she's gonna drive me to Handel's. That doesn't really sound like a date, does it? You can- Kind of sounds like a chauffeur, which is what I prefer. You can come sit on the second row if you want. I won't be there. She hasn't looked at me the same since I didn't like pizza. Oh, yeah, yeah. You know? I said I could go the rest of my life without eating pizza. Said it on the show, said it to her. It's a weird thing to say. Our marriage wasn't over, but a part of it was. It's a weird thing to say. You know? So is this cake good? This cake is good, and I'm not much of a cake person myself. Um, and I also go chocolate more than fruity, but this is very good cake. Their pastry chef at Quarter Sheets is really good, so all of their desserts are very good. And there's a lot of icing in that, and then there's a lot of the, like, whatever the red stuff is. So it looks very moist. It's got a helmet on it. And I've seen Link fall for a moist cake a time or two. Yeah, yeah. I mean, if you drive me there, I might eat it. We're sticking with that. We'll go with that. Oh, God, that good- Is that a cookie of sorts? Yes. What, what did it do to your hand? Is it a deep-fried Oreo? I had to show off the cross-section. Uh- Yeah, one of the methods we learned was distraction, so let me tell you that that cookie is 1075. It's gigantic. And I was in Maui for about eight days. Exactly. How many calories are in that? And yeah, there's Oreos on the inside I can only get so excited about a cookie. I'm gonna tell you that right now. W- and this is pretty excited. It's probably more excited than the average person gets excited about cookies. But compared to as excited as I can get about ice cream- Oh, let me read you the full description. A massive 10 ounce chocolate chip cookie stuffed to the brim with Reese's, Snickers, and Oreo Y- let's choose it. Let's do it. We're going this? Yeah, let's do it. This is so one of a kind. And then you're back at, you're b- what are you, a Taco Bell now? This is fake Taco Bell ice cream? This is actually from Salt and Straw. This is their collab with Taco Bell. They call it the Tacolit. How was it? Um, it is cinnamon ancho ice cream, a hand-pressed crunchy waffle cone taco dunked in dark chocolate and studded with crunchy puffed quinoa. And then it comes with those two dipping sauces, wild berry and, uh, mango. Quinoa gives me real bad gas. That's fun, but yeah. I'll take that into consideration. Sometimes just a little bit. Maybe worse than anything. I've had a couple of quinoa nights, I called them. Quinoa night. You do not… Listen, even on the third row, it'd be too much for your wife. I could roll down all the back windows. You remember the, my parents had that van? Sure. The Voyager? Yeah. And the back windows wouldn't roll down, but they would go out like that? It's not the H Mart place. I think we're gonna choose it just 'cause we are really intrigued. There is an H Mart in it. So we're going with that. How, how good was it? It's pretty good. It's nothing I'd crave over- Flaky throughout, gooey in the middle? What? Flaky throughout, gooey in the middle. Yeah, gooey in the middle. Man. It's a lot of cream inside. The cube of it all is pretty- Oh, I bet … irresistible to me. Oh, gosh, we've got more. Okay. So we've got a melting cheesecake? Basque cheesecake. Ah. I'm not a huge fan- Yep … of that type of cheesecake. It's burnt on top. Uh, not because of that. It's burnt. But because it's not as creamy as I want a ch- I like a New York style cheesecake more than that. Listen, let me tell you what you need to do. Just get a, just get Cheesecake Factory's boxed mini cheesecake. It's perfect. Not Basque, but boxed. Boxed. We're sticking with that. How many more of these do we have? You are a fiend. We have 14 total. Your metabolism is through the roof. We don't have to do them all. How many? 50? 14. What is that? That is a strawberry halo salt bread from Out of Order, also in Koreatown. Have you had salt bread before? Yes. I think I've been … I wa- I gotta go back. I go to Koreatown quite a bit, but I've kind of been hitting the same spots. There's one in Little Tokyo I went to. I gotta, I gotta delve deeper. It's the only place- Salty and buttery … in this city that, like, stays alive as it gets late at night. You know what I'm saying? Like, there's just not another … LA goes to sleep, but Koreatown g- stays awake. Okay. Uh, I think I gotta stick with the cube, though. Yeah, we will. All right. Let's end it with this one, 'cause boy, I'm, I'm getting sluggish What is this? That is a pumpkin flavored soft serve ice cream pie- Give me this … from Magpies. This is what? Pumpkin flavored soft serve ice cream pie from Magpies. Mm. That's ice cream. Yeah, in a pie form. I'm not a huge pumpkin guy. Yeah. I- I'm just a regular man … I think, I think it's good to get to a point where we don't want to either. That means we're done. That's not how we finish this. How do you wanna finish? I wanna finish with that. We prefer that cube with the Oreo on top. Okay, but it seems like that was the best thing all day, and it's not. Okay, then how about this donut? What's so special about this donut? I'm glad you asked. That's the salt and butter donut from Sidecar. It's amazing. Okay. Okay, I gotta try that. All right, we're gonna try this. There's one next to the Howlin' Ray's- Sidecar … in Pasadena, so I really need to go there. Oh, you listened. Well, no, I've been there. I know. I was referencing the fact that I told you that.
