GMMore 444: Scary Houses in the Woods

yeah I just screamed like a goat you know you got to talk also that’s all those goats in the internet video that’s what they sound like okay so being the video they go yeah I think it’s fake man I think that’s a person’s voice even though they said it wasn’t it’s not dude it’s old news you’re how are we even talking about it like that okay now my throat’s hurting yeah so Mike comes into town so as you want to go camping I think we have established that we purchased a vehicle that can go into some could do some back country driving have we talked about this anyway we got a vehicle yeah yeah baby so we had to replace the Bronco because it was really unreliable hence the first trip we took on the thing with Mike right we had to use a hammer to stall me on the ignition in order to get the key out of the ignition or something yeah get it out and then it was anyway it wasn’t a reliable vehicle because it was like 30 years old but anyway we replace it with a younger vehicle and uh so I’m like let’s figure I want to do something where we can do two nights of camping and I want to camp in two different types of strata areas you ask the thing about California is that you you drive a hundred miles and you go through these crazy landscapes I’m like wouldn’t it be cool if one night we camped like near really big trees in a in a river and mountains and then the next night we can tread that desert in and I was like yeah that’ll be cool yeah that’s candid voice and so the first day we go we check out the big there’s a the southernmost grove of sequoias in california is this place called the trail of 100 Giants remember there was a guy that we went to high school with his name was Sequoia yeah it was good guy in this present that big though that’s gonna do he was a ballplayer yeah but he was kind of short to use it was him that stocky well I think they named him before he for the head high helped change full-size anyway we go around and we check out these these sequoia trees there’s a approximately a hundred of them but they’re on a paved path but like last year two of these suckers that are together like this fell down and some German dude caught it on a YouTube video caught it on his camera and it’s on YouTube yeah it’s I mean endings like 2,000 years old in the description it says that he ran out of the way of the falling sequoias and then began filming on his iPhone you can tell it like he’s got it landscape thing he’s got a portrait it’s like trying to figure it out but I mean the wherewithal of this dude but then he cut the camera right before it hits the ground which is I guess he just hit them sometimes I hit the button too I wouldn’t I wouldn’t have even been able to start well yeah this so is not really a great video I mean but now you can you can look it up you can walk up 100 grands trail Sequoia falling trail of 100 giants so you can literally get onto the tree and walk up it and so you’re essentially it was is as if you’re walking up a couple hundred foot feet of tree but it’s what it’s all around you can take one of those weird pictures like that I mean look like climbing a tree I’m going to tree that’s that’s sleeping so that was day one that was pretty cool it was fun but day two we take this trail all the way down from Sequoia National Forest all the way down to jawbone Canyon it’s called the Lake Isabella to jawbone Canyon Trail highly recommended but we go it’s like 50 miles of nothing but just a dirt road that goes into the mountains and we get halfway up there into the mountains and there are this these people living there we didn’t see any actual people we just saw their homes like obviously occupied these are not vacation home no these are like escaping from the government homes these are like Walter White oh listen what I learned these are like people trying to run from the law and trying to cover up their tracks and they have signs that say keep out smile you’re on camera no tress lots of no trespassing this is not a welcoming bunch it’s not like welcome to the mountains I’ll have some blackberry wine on me no it’s just like don’t set foot on my property I don’t know why I say blackberry wine just seems like the kind of thing that somebody amounts would offer you as a sign of hospitality in your dreams but anyway we got through the gauntlet of those mean people that didn’t want us in their yards and got down to the desert and that was quite a night of camping a very windy night of camping reminiscent of well yeah I would your father’s very gun-shy about the wind and I kept saying guys it’s windy listen I’ve had bad experiences recently with said wind let’s we got to find a place to really seek some good shelter for this tent so we set up behind a rock a big rock not a little rock a rock the size of a house essentially we get behind that thing and we got a little windbreak and we did but that didn’t mean that when wasn’t gonna blow a different direction at night all I know is I woke up at least 15 times and every time the tent head was pushing down on the three of us and then it would pop back I was like this is what happens to link every time he goes camping maybe it’s make the winds the wind comes you’ve upset the wind gods I know and I went to the beach after that and it was severely windy there we had to leave them the wind the wind’s fall in your own it’s me probably not highly improbable it has something to do with you we had to dig a deep hole to build the fire because it was the wind was going to blow the fire out onto the tent but then that last day is the but we did it don’t worry we dug a deep hole and it was the best fighter I’ve ever seen in my life that in that last day is the day that we went to the brochure Tunnel we also went into some there’s these just these peep there’s a place called Bickle camp and it’s just these folks that live out there in the middle of the desert and have just a bunch of junk and a bunch of like RVs and it’s it was closed on a day that we went for some reason but it’s just there there’s just a different type of person who says you know what I’m going to live in the desert or you know what I’m gonna live 30 miles into the woods and I have to I have to ask are they happier I feel happier because they’ve made this decision to completely remove themselves from civilization I feel like if they’re the type of person that wants to do that we should gladly welcome that decision for them a little bit do you want to do know what would it take well I’m then those people would be my neighbors and I’m afraid of those people I mean you can get far enough away from there’s a lot of space up there I do find it interesting that they would still have little neighborhoods of people you want to be away from everyone except a couple but you got to have some people no man is an island no man is an island and that’s what you can learn today from this good mythical more okay no man no man is an island the wind follows me so keep your distance Wow
