don’t one it’s not how it works but uh putting a pump oh alright ladies and germs it’s time for good mythical more where we give you more okay I’m gonna give you something what camping today that’s wicked I think between between the two of us there’s been like five camping trips in the past six weeks I’ve really caught the bug man I was jealous that you were going I don’t think it’s a disease and we share you know we share this uh FJ Cruiser to kind of take on things yeah well you’ve got to but you but you’ve been three times a novel I’ve been two times so I mean yeah I mean even it out of the score yet right with the third but I but this is okay okay I was I’m just saying hey I was we need to divide it up I was you know I wish I was camping um I’m with three weeks in a row it could have been four weekends in a row so I got you know I got this book the book that’s got the different trails in it right the one that I left is covering the real you know it’s a book but with some trails in it and I found this trail that goes up into the Los Padres National Forest the baseball team that means the father’s really so the Padres is daddy’s he’s like a whole baseball team the daddies yeah Big Daddy’s yes I think that’s pretty intimidating the San Diego daddies isn’t the San Diego Padres is that yeah so little okay so anyway we went up to the daddies National Forest and we were going to find a campsite and there was actually this little campsite on the in the book they were like this is their secluded camping up there this is the campsite that’s all by itself and it’s this beautiful view taking your wife and kids for the first time camping yeah and you were thinking I hope it doesn’t go half as bad as it did with link with that tent thing at the Joshua family I was pretty sure it was not kind thing was gonna have because I’ve looked at the weather report before I left and I bought a ten I bought a tent that you were using – yeah I did use the tent that was a result of the other tent being a vacation Lodge being mean demolished demolished so we go up there you know I stopped it the the 7-eleven on the way up it’s only place I could find wood I found three bundles of wood to take up there into the mountains and plenty and have a campfire plan we get up there and as we’re entering into the Los Padres National Forest I see a sign that says fire restrictions absolutely no and had like a bunch of things including campfires with a big Ghostbusters symbol on it you know that’s what I call the thing with the X and I’m like well this is unfortunate because we’re gonna have a campfire I got three bundles of wood but then I’m like yeah like I don’t want to be the guy that starts the forest fire I don’t break the law this is a serious deal you know you can go to jail for murder for starting a forest fighter to kill somebody this is Ben you’ll play around I mean in the news down on Carl’s bear this horrible things happening so I don’t take this stuff lightly yeah so I saw we I’m like well maybe as we go up in altitude we’ll get to a sign that says okay fires are okay up here you’ve gotten far enough or smokey the bear himself we look you’re you’re good to go lag and you know what then he’s a pirate to exit I got off it’s called smokey bear Road really right there next to hungry Valley uh he lives up I get off at the exit where the where the guy who says don’t start fires I mean I’m this is on the brain yet I’ll start a fire near smokey the Bears exit so we get out there lurking far up into a couple of hours into the wilderness and Wow recalls it we’re in the wilderness dad and I’m gonna leave you here if you don’t shut up and I see another sign I see another sign that says no campfires and so then we get to this beautiful campsite that is referenced in this book and then I realize I have service so at that point I’m like well maybe they mean no campfires except in like fire rings that are there you know or maybe they mean no campfires I’m going to call the number you call the National Forest number the first thing they say is only you can prevent forest fires I mean it’s a first thing that guy says if calling to report a fire hang up in dial nine-one-one and then I noticed that this area has been burned before by a wildfire there’s you know you can see the marks on the trees and the black marks so some like I just don’t feel right about this this is a beautiful campsite Jessie and I discuss it and like I don’t want to take a chance even though I feel totally like I could keep this be totally responsible let’s go up to the established campground two miles up the road and let’s let’s see if we can do it there and luckily when we got to that point we go in there and it says campfires ok at designated campsites oh there’s a campsite there with firing we had a wonderful time it’s highly recommended it’s interesting how the campfire becomes such the focal point of the camping experience I mean it’s like a television and any any well-meaning families home it’s the thing you sit and look at ya brainless but it doesn’t give you a while it doesn’t give you a lot like TV well but it it does give you something and when it’s not there Oh everybody tends to fall apart the boys had an incredible time Jessie I mean people will sell campfire simulators that you can take those are not good out for a campy fire in a box or something that but here’s here’s where it comes all back to this whole bear story in thinking about this is a bear still Turkey having to get up and poop and pee we’re out there and we’re in the wilderness and there is a way down at the beginning of the campground I mean a good 200 yard walk there is one of those freestanding toilets it’s just a kind of a hole what an outhouse it’s an outhouse essentially you know I will say I used it my wife used it too it was uneventful everything was fine but then I was like I’ve been building did you feel the breeze oh yeah you feel the breeze you sit down there’s a breeze that comes up from the toilet it’s unpleasant to think about the fact that what’s being pushed up there but I’ve been building it up with the boys that you know you guys if you have to use the bathroom you’ll have to do it in the woods and I’m not just talking about marking your territory I’m talking about if you’ve got to go you’ve got to go I’ve got a shovel you know biodegradable toilet paper or whatever we can make this happen so because you didn’t know there was gonna be an outhouse so you were prepare but because I prepared them emotionally once it came around for them they wanted to go they didn’t want to go to the house they wanted they wanted to do the thing that we had been building up they wanted to do the tree grab in Lane and so I was okay boys grabbed me so I the tree grabbing lien yeah you know you grabbed the tree and yelling back with your with your legs like and you dig a hole on the ground yeah so we dug a hole on the ground and then I kind of turned a little bit look away daddy went first lock might suck it to two different two to four to different and you know I saw that there’s something changed something changed about my boys this weekend you know they became a little bit more of a man they collectively they’ve pooped outside and buried it and the problem is now I can’t get him to stop that has been doing it they’ve been the backyard it’s nice you got a bear that stuff deeper you go eat some wild animals coming up on you really I don’t think animals are into that man I mean I mean I went as deep as I could go before I hit bedrock well I mean it was very rocky soil I hit rocks and then I gave up honey I think I have to sneeze so okay thank you Steve okay it could be appropriate way to end this thing we could just end on the sneeze if it ever comes actually just fell asleep they’re processing okay good story though
