show welcome to what you just did to the mic what did you just do to them where we do stuff to the mic and so the other person is blind for us I what did you just do to the mic because not gonna I don’t need to reference anything I’m rivers my brain for this reference your brain um spies we’ve never we never been spies I didn’t mean to insinuate that but we almost uh we I think we may have compromised someone’s potential career as a spot right and we can’t say his name because I don’t know if he’s still in the mix like later in life kind of a thing right he’s not let work to this crime for a long time once you work at a ski resort so how did this happen well how do did he tell us we might be contacted and this is college we were in college I was well he came I mean the guy who met me at Black & Veatch so it wasn’t College for me okay goes right after collar goes yeah cuz he graduated from college gives a contemporary of ours friend of ours a contemporary he um his dad would graduate from college and wanted to go to the CI his dad was a CIA agent in one point oh right and so but didn’t he tell us you’re probably gonna hear from the CIA don’t panic don’t act weird it’s about me like not about you put you down as a rut as a particular potential reference for my you know application to CIA and he put his boat down and he didn’t like ride it like reference rhettandlink you know he I was a reference in you were reference we were two separate meetings which was probably another mistake you know we could have at least been more entertaining if we were together so little thing is about being entertaining oh really maybe that’s why you didn’t make it look at all these celebrities are spies we might have been spied up you know if we’d have been together Spidy Oh rhettandlink I got to hire them but this is what happened I in this guy by the way was just like he was just the interview guy well tell him what I gotta tell well I mean as I remember it I got a phone call and I’m so-and-so so-and-so so-and-so did your red phone ring the one that was just for the CIA the Batphone ring and he said I am in charge of the interview process for blankety blank blank your friend and I’d like to come and ask you some questions about blankety blank blank and so he came and met me at my place of work and I left work and just went down to the atrium area where we were used to eat lunch and sat down with this guy on like what like a loveseat not me and him together on the left seat oh I’ve been where he was like across from me he was on a loveseat and you you were on a chair across in the loveseat like there’s a coffee table in between yep yep and it happened with you um I’d better lefty to vote I think he emailed me he emailed you yep maybe it wasn’t email I mean I was thinking this is before email but it was email was nothing in wide usage at the time uh I was working at IBM I guess I had to have been I might have still been in school cuz I graduated I was at while I was working IBM and graduating and like it was delayed for that reason that not point pertinent why am I talking about it I remember replying to the email and I was like it’s kind like a Craigslist situation kind of mean in a public place I don’t want him to shoot me so I’m like meet me on the waffle house and I’ll sit and I’ll sit in the back facing the interest you know how like spies would they’ll meet in like a deli or a Waffle House and then they’re like they’re like they’re like the guy will be sitting down and the person will sit down at the booth behind they’ll be back to back and you’ll be reading your paper and you’ll start talking to the paper yeah as if you’re the person so I was like everyone talks to the paper I was planning and sent me one reads papers and B everyone talks to them I was playing all this I was like maybe the Waffle House I’ll be the guy reading the paper leave comes a fedora on with the fedora you be in the booth behind me in trench you face the other way so like he shows up and I mean I’m looking for a dude in a suit with like an earpiece and like an assault rifle here like a golf shirt on and he had on like a sweater vest and it didn’t have shorts she didn’t have a CIA physique no no I didn’t he had a like a that might have been like bulletproof plating that bulbs right right down here it could have just been a belly yeah um and he didn’t sit down at the other booth and start talking to me he sat down and so like he sits down and I’m like reading the paper with a fedora and he’s like sitting there and I’m like I’m like should I still talk to the paper so I’m like Hello he’s like good enough for the paper I put the I’m lying about the paper really he sat down and I had a nice waffle together we each had our own waffle oh you know so you actually did eat yes I yeah I made a CIA pay for my waffle man I should have done that yeah he just asked a series of questions you know how long have you known blankety-blank and he had a notebook I remember yeah and he was writing in it right it is and I was like what does he think about the answer that I’m giving it so so paranoid when you’re like this guy’s asking questions he has a lot of questions about blankety-blank travel overseas right and I was like man I don’t know about that stuff that’s when it gets weird like he just falls off the map for months at a time yeah I don’t hear from him have you heard from him I mean is he doing work for you already because that’s what I assume I think you may have blown it for him no he had done like uh charity soccer trips over overseas and so I did say that but I used air quotes a lot yeah when I was talking playing soccer and overseas yeah you’re responsible right and furious you could have had a career with the CIA and then he ended up no but seriously I I did think that it went well I was like I didn’t blow it for the guy I called him afterward it wasn’t I was like I don’t I didn’t blow it for you it was definitely not our interviews and he never understood there was nothing they never gave a reason they don’t give you a reason but I think it could be anything and it could also be that there’s multiple people competing for the same positions it isn’t just like oh well there’s something wrong with this person whatever you know so I think there’s lots as you don’t get to be in the CIA and he did die mysteriously like two weeks later right he did right right he’s like choked on a marble or something is what they something I thought that was a weird story on a marble and the CIA joke but he did not die he’s still alive he’s still alive
