We spent $50 at three different grocery stores to see how many tacos you can make. Welcome back to Mythical Kitchen, where we all got to eat. Before us, we have the results of three different grocery trips. What we did is we gave each of us a $50 bill and then Trevor laundered that $50 bill and he actually put that into was it a vending machine business? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Vending machines. Really? Unfortunately, I put some bad stock in there. Knockoff cookie brands. It was It was rough. So, he got that $50 back and then he went to Walmart and he bought as many ingredients as he possibly could to make a taco night. Lily went over to >> Air1. >> Did you see one of the Bers? >> Um Oh, yeah. Haley Bieber smoothie. It's not bad. >> And it only cost $22. [laughter] >> How do you know that? >> I bought it for a friend who really wanted it. It is gross. It tastes like wet dog. >> No, it doesn't. >> Collagen is disgusting. Okay. What did you Okay. Yeah. Yeah. What did you notice at Heroine? >> Um, well, the produce is really laid out perfectly, but this is the ripest pineapple I could find, which is >> here. Give it a sniff. Let me smell the pineapple. [snorts] >> It's like medium ripe. >> I'm smelling some. >> I need it for my thing. >> At least I'm smelling a bit. >> Yeah. You look like you don't have very many groceries there. >> No, it's going to be a struggle for me. >> How much did the single avocado set you back? >> Like $500. >> Where did you go, Josh? I went to the Dollar Tree cuz listen man, we've been cooking with Dollar Tree ingredients for a couple years in the show and I feel like at this point we kind of know how to hack the system. You know, you got to go to fresh stums and frankly stums are not that bad for you. They're pretty good to cook with. It is pure beef. Um we have a lot of different ingredients because the way we wanted to play this, we didn't want to make the exact identical tacos because if you're going for their beef is like $40 a pound no matter what. That cod's probably the cheapest protein they sell there, right? Yeah, it was 26 a pound. >> God, that's so expensive. Um, and you know, if you're going to Walmart, the best deal in the whole damn store is the rotisserie chicken. >> Yeah, they got some looks. >> Got a couple looks hauling these babies out. >> For $50, we got five rotisserie chicken, 70 tortillas, and like all of the produce and cheese you could possibly want. Plus the world's biggest jalapeno. This is obscene. >> Massive. How What's the GMO ratio in that? [laughter] >> I don't even think it's GMO. I just think being inside Walmart gives it some sort of radiation. Um, then we've got, you know, the steakums, the stir-fried peppers over here. I'm really curious to see not only how much yield we get from each of these $50 hauls, but like if we can actually make something good and delicious. Great job, Trevor's coming out of your next $50. >> Didn't happen. I'm not only curious to see how many tacos we can get out of each $50 haul, but also how good they are, cuz Walmart, it's going to be tough to compete with the volume here. Yeah, I got a lot of meat, a lot of protein. I think that's where Lily's going to struggle here is just like how much protein. >> I have one tortilla in this bag. >> I think I could use all these. >> That's crazy, man. I think I could use all these. 70 count. I'm making 70 tacos. >> We'll see how this goes. You'all ready to cook? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Let's do it. >> Trevor, we got $50 worth of groceries from the Dollar Tree. We're going to make a bunch of steak and cheese tacos. And I need a lot of energy and a lot of focus. And no bits. >> Yeah. No bits. bit stakes. We got a lot to get through. Okay. So, I'm going to need you I'm going you to shred >> tell Picasso not to paint. [laughter] >> Tell LeBron James not to play basketball or me not to give historical fun facts. Fun fact, do you know that Picasso used to just he didn't carry cash and he would just try and pay with his paintings. >> He'd like go to a restaurant and he'd like get a beer and a plate of food and they give him the bill and he'd just like hand them a drawing and be like, "I'm Picasso." And they'd be like, "I we need money." >> That's what I do with our YouTube videos. Be like, "Have you seen this? Can I have my coffee for free? [laughter] Uh, I'm going to start winging in these beef sheets and chopping them up and then get them into that bowl. I'm going season them up. And you want a little bit of spice in your tacos. Otherwise, you're just kind of eating plain ground beef. We're going to get a little bit of neutral oil. Also, what you might notice, we're no longer cooking on those little fire burner camp stoves. No, no, no. Bang. Fire department. Won't let us cook with fire in a kitchen. >> Do you want bigger? >> Don't write them a letter. We don't want anymore. But, you know, I just I want to complain about them here. >> You want big or small? >> Big or small? Let's go big. I'm just going to start winging in as many beef seats as possible. We're going to try and cook with all of our Oh god, it's frozen beef and hot oil. >> No, it's okay. >> Why did I think of this? >> Gosh, face your fears. >> Why do I speak like John Love it? >> Face your fears. >> He was in the movie Rat Race. >> Do you want me to race? >> Uh, no. Tell me about it. >> You want to watch Rat Race? >> Tell me about it. >> Oh, great little fun family ensemble comedy. Breer. >> Big Bre and Meer guy. Uh, you're not selling me on it. I need something more. >> They There's What's the plot of Rat? I don't remember what the plot is. >> Okay. >> Uh, [laughter] >> the good thing about stakums is that you can kind of like hack them up and manipulate them any way you want. The bad thing about stums is they do look like this. >> No, that's not bad. It's beautiful. >> Trevor just said I was being hormonal. [laughter] >> You definitely >> That is not true. >> That's true. >> That is not true. You said I was being hormonal and I just We're getting off to a rough start. >> My gosh, it's not even true. Okay. Uh I will be making with my $50 worth of ingredients from Walmart. Uh we'll be making Well, we we will be making uh chicken tinga tacos. >> Fun. >> Yeah. You know, we got a little little Chipotles and adobo over here. Figured it could be pretty easy. Uh I'm not going to do much of what Josh was doing. Um, I'm not going to really take any lessons from him. >> Going to try and kind of go, you know, forge a path of my own here. >> I think it'll turn out better. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> I really think that is that just cuz you're helping me. >> When he goes like off script a little bit, it gets very chaotic. >> N you just can't question him, you know? That's just who he is. Okay, I'm pushing. >> I cut your onion. >> You cut my onion. >> Go. There you go. >> That's as cut as you. >> All right. No, no, no. >> It's going to get blended. >> No, I know. I know. I know. I was just curious. So, as I was just asking the question, I was just asking the question. >> Why do you have one misfit? >> Um, for the seasoning, four lemon pepper rotisserie chickens just would have been too many. I mean, five. Can't count. >> Dude, how about this garlic? Huh? >> Yeah, take your time. Um, I'm shredding like a ton of chicken. We have one, two, three, four, five bags [music] here. >> And then I'm going to make chicken stock. >> Yeah, we're going to make chicken stock in 5 minutes. >> [laughter] >> have time to simmer. >> Well, it might be more than 5 minutes with how long it's taking me to crap. >> You can do this. You've made such a mess in like the 2 seconds we've been cooking. >> Okay, I've got about six square inches of counter to work with here. Okay, peel in scarlic. So, cut me some slack. >> Thanks for appreciating women. >> Good morning. As grocery store ingredient prices go up, >> who are your three favorite? Why is he in here still? >> Why can't I have anything to myself? >> Guys, I'm watching a video. Can you quiet? I'm just kidding, guys. That's been another Trevor Evers bed. I'll see you later. All right. Well, bye. I'll see you. That's a wrap. Thanks so much for stopping by the kitchen. >> I'm alone. Josh, come back. >> So, I didn't have no affordability to buy a bunch of seasonings for $10 a jar. >> Didn't have some of them. Uh, so I got this al pastor taco seasoning that is going to just like season the that's it's everything. >> See this? What's the ingredients in it? >> Al pastor, >> salt, pineapple powder in here, which is interesting. >> Do you want to taste it? >> Yeah, let's taste. You dot dot up a little a little lineski, you know. >> Yeah, I can get a bench scraper. >> It's going to take some in the hand. Uh, do people know what is? Should we tell them what it is? >> Oh, it's a grocery [music] store and it's it's super satisfying and very infur infuriating. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> You go in there and it's like um >> bad. >> I don't know. That guy that guy uh looks like he's dressed like Mark Zuckerberg for Halloween and then there's like sometimes it is Mark Zuckerberg in there and he's trying to like get you in like a BJJ lock, you know? And he's just like, [clears throat] I love smoking meats like a normal human man. And he's just saying that all the time. It's really bizarre. All right. You want me to break down this pineapple? >> Yeah. So Josh is going to make a little pineapple salsa. And then we had to have like two fillings in our tacos. So we just make that rule. We made that rule. >> That's how I like to eat tacos. You know, salsa and then like a something else. >> Yeah. But my thing is just [music] like an avocado slice cuz I didn't have any affordability to get anything. >> Air one is ridiculously expensive. And they don't carry like normal brand products. So you can't [music] go in there and get Frank's Frank's Red Hot. But you can go in there and get David Beckham's son's hot sauce. [music] >> It's a good hot sauce. >> I've never tried it. Every time I think about getting it, it it's a beautiful bottle. There's a lot of beautiful bottles in there. >> Beautiful. >> Beautiful bottles. And then they got Have you ever had a smoothie from there? >> Yeah. Un. Yes. And I like them. >> I dumped the peppers in the pan. We're going to hack these up. Get these incorporated with beef for our taco filling. Going to eat that little rogue piece of beef there. >> Oh yeah. Hope that was cooked. Trevor's making what some might call cowboy caviar. What some might call a little like um encilada deololis or bean salad in English. And so we're going to kind of use this as a topping. We could have made a bean puree. We could have done a salsa and folada. That's a fun one. >> We could have done it. >> Bean sauce. >> Dude, why didn't we do that? >> We could still do it. Should we do it? >> No, we got corn in there. We have another happen when we go off clan. Nothing's happen. >> Nothing's happen. We >> also have another salsa plan. >> We have another salsa plan that I got from my favorite Instagram account called Elma Salsas. Everyone, stop what you're doing right now. Go watch Elma Salsa's videos. The guy got like 150 different kinds of salsas that he can make. What? Hence the term Elas salsa, you know what I mean? >> Oh. >> Um, >> it's just a salsa Instagram account and I love it. >> Salsa. >> I mean, he makes good food and he'll put it on the food as well, but I've gotten a lot a lot of ideas from Elas Salsas. >> What's your favorite salsa you've made recently? [music] >> Oh, my favorite sal Oh my god, let's think about it. Um, I made I mean for Thanksgiving, this isn't recently, but I made like a cranberry chili morita salsa. That was really fun. What? Oh, I made a pipon verde with like uh what it's peep verde. What? What are you, Shrek? Huh? Okay. Well, I'm just going to wait to get this cooking a little bit in here. >> Get it fragrant. You know, >> would you say that's a word that we should use to describe this? >> Here you go. >> E. What is that? >> What is that? >> It's a chicken. [laughter] >> Dude, >> it's a chicken string to tie the legs together. >> Oh my god. That looks like something you'd like >> chicken jelly. >> That looks like something you pull out of like a dead fish. Like it was eating garbage or something. in the ocean and that's what you pulled out. >> The turtles. >> Yeah, but not a turtle. >> Save the turtles. >> Turtle make me sad to think about. Maybe like a mackerel or something. >> Oh, that doesn't make me sad. >> This is good stuff. Really? Get those sweating in there, Lily. >> Yeah. Can you help? Are you just >> These are really sweating in here. >> Can you shred some chicken? >> No. >> I got stuff to do. >> Okay. >> I got I don't know. Gloves. Where are the gloves? I'm stepping on garlic. Who put that garlic thing? >> I'm stress cooking with you. We haven't cooked in a while together. This >> I need these to get smaller. These aren't getting smaller because they're so big. >> Well, stop putting your bare hands in the pan. >> I have to do it. >> I feel like I can do this faster. >> Lily, here. Good. Let me get Can I help? >> Yeah. I'm going to open another one. We're getting >> It's cold. I don't know why I thought it was going to be warm. >> It's >> I don't know why I thought it was going to be warm. >> Why? You hurt you. >> I don't want to touch it. Oh. Oh, that's why it's gelatinous. >> Chicken jelly. >> Ew. Ew. Ew. It's good for you. >> I don't like the way it feels though. >> You're a Never mind. >> No, say it. >> No, >> just say it. >> You're You're being a girl. >> That's really messed up of you to say. >> You cook like a girl. >> Hey, thank you. >> Good save. [laughter] >> Hey, what's up, guys? Welcome back. Uh, we're here doing our cooking. Lily just got all that chicken shredded. Those bones are in the stock. Lily's going to get started on some guacamole now. Lily, you've made guacamole before, right? >> Mhm. >> Of course you have. >> Um, >> why do you say that? >> I don't know. Uh, I got some Okay, so I've got these onions going. They got a little bit of browning. They're sweat a little bit. They're loose. So, I'm going to add my other little adobo sauce ingredients. Uh, chipotle pepper in adobo. Pretty important ingredient. [laughter] >> These are some nice avocados you picked out. >> Why is that funny? Dude, >> a girl can't compliment her coworker. >> No, she can't >> because I'm a woman. >> I actually I honestly thought it would have come out by now. >> Oh, no peppers, just a ton of juice. Okay, there we go. >> I don't >> That smells good. I love chipotles and adobo. >> This is >> You do? >> Yep. >> Awesome. >> Okay. [laughter] and some tomatoes going in there. >> Um, I have these tortillas. There's like one in here. They are vista armosa. And they don't feel I mean, oh gosh, feel how hard these are. >> I'm doing something, but press it [music] to my skin. That's very hard. It feels like a cat's tongue. >> It actually does. It's >> feels sandpapery, but that could be good for a tortilla, you know, >> as long as it becomes pliable. Chef, do you want smaller dices on this? I was trying to go for like a pico. If I can run a knife through it. >> It's too late now. But no, I I like it. >> I like it. It's chunky. >> Are you sure? >> No, I actually do like it. And it is like my main thing. >> Can I ask I was I was doing I was playing computers when Trevor made his misogynistic comments. What did What did he say? >> Computers. >> Yeah. >> He just told me that I was being hormonal and that's how it started it all. >> And I wasn't even saying anything. Actually, I was excited to cook with him today. I think um it's it's not that either gender is more emotional than the other, but I think that society has told us that our emotions should manifest in certain ways. So like when men deal with sadness, they tend to [music] go towards anger. >> That's true. >> When uh women deal with sadness, they tend to go towards seclusion and depression. >> I mean, I do feel a little depressed. >> Yeah, >> from that comment. >> And Trevor's angry. He's over there just bashing bashing his fists against a brick wall. Look at him. Do it. Do it, Trevor. >> Pretty chill. >> I'm sorry. We're now misrepresenting Trevor. Trevor is actually one of the um most supportive men of women that I know. >> Yeah, he is. >> Trevor, name your top three women from history. >> Top three women from history. Okay. [clears throat] Probably Ann Bonnie, Mary Reed, uh, and Marie Cury. >> Marie Cury is a good poll. Who are the other ones? Do you know the other ones? >> No, I don't know anything. two of the fiercest pirates to sail the seven seas. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah, >> dude. That's a good one. Who's Who's the um >> There was the She was like a a the leader of the largest band of Chinese pirates. >> Oh, yes. >> She commanded like one of the biggest fleets. I'm sorry. The men are talking real real quick here. So, yeah, there was We're talking about supporting women. >> So, if you could just So, there was the Chinese uh pirate. >> Yeah. What's her name? I I can't remember her name. We got We >> We can figure this out here. So, she committed a fle >> I'm sad today. >> What do you want to talk about? >> Um, >> I like to do a podcast from her real quick. Hey, do you like podcasts and men who host them? Statistically, 78% of podcasts are hosted by men. Listenership is not high. Anyways, I have one. It's with a woman, though. It's called a hot dog as a sandwich. Our last episode is with another man, though. I will say that. So, it's So, check it out. It's me and Chase Hilt taste [music] testing Doritos Naked. So, go over to a hot dogs as a sandwich and watch me and Chase Hilt taste test Doritos naked. >> Okay, my fish is done and I'm ready to assemble. >> You know what I worry about when sometimes like you start something as a joke but then it like turns [music] real because you you do it so much and I don't want that to happen with the joking misogyny. >> What? >> You're twisting my words. >> I didn't know what you're trying to say. I'm saying that I don't want to continue down this Trevor hates women, we hate women rabbit hole because Yeah, I think we just We had our fun. >> We had our fun >> and I think we can I think we can kill the bet. I think we can retire the bet. >> I don't want >> But you're still sad. That's real. >> That's real. >> That's real. >> This is coming straight out of Elma Salsa's Instagram. What I seen him do, he took pickled jalapenños. He actually like a full like pickled escape. >> Okay. and he uh uh emulsified oil into it to make it like a like salsa creosa. Like a creamy salsa. >> So, we're doing we're gonna just blend up these jalapenos with oil is what you're saying. >> Yeah. But I think it's going to be really good. Do you want to get some Can you fill that with a little bit of water? >> Yeah, of course. >> I just want to see where we're at cuz the jalapenos, if you think about it, it's just chili, salt, and acid. That's what like a hot sauce is, right? Tabasco is literally just chilies, vinegar, and salt, but kind of strained. So, we're going to try and just blend this up. See where we get to. Oh, I must start eating up a couple of these tortillas. Start eating some tortillas in there. I'll get it. Whoa. No good. We're getting yelled at. What? What does she want? I [screaming] had a pig skin. Okay. Is this going to be the best salsa we ever had? >> Probably not. >> Definitely not. Okay. I'm [laughter] not loving where this is going. I'm not loving where this is going. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. I think you kind of maybe need more ingredients in it. Well, yeah. Could we add >> Why' you use That's so crazy what I just did. >> I thought that was for me, man. >> It's the same taste. It's the same taste. [laughter] I just I just I use one spoon. >> Over consumptive. anything. >> Should we add like Is there like, you know, maybe some salt or something that we can >> No, definitely doesn't need more salt. Taste it. Oh, >> okay. Well, you you had a spoon and then >> I have an idea. Give me a tortilla. >> Are [laughter] you going to put it in there? >> This is what you Okay. So, if you want to like thicken a mole, you can use stale bread. Use tortillas sometimes. >> It's rough right now. It's rough right now. It's rough right now. >> I [clears throat] do think the tortilla is going to help. Maybe a little bit of dry at this point. >> You just made like slightly chunky jalapeno water. Sure. Yeah. And I can see how with all the ingredients that I put in there, that [laughter] is what the result would be. >> Here's the thing. >> Juice from this and made >> there's sort of no alchemy in cooking. You know what I mean? Um it it's sort of a a combination of its ingredients and processes. [music] >> And so we're we're not going to let that stop us. >> That was like in my nose somehow. >> It's a little thicker now. You >> try it? Yeah. >> [laughter] [snorts] >> Yeah, it's just not what I want it to be. Do [laughter] you think maybe I need more tortilla? Do you need it warm? >> I don't think so. >> Okay, >> we're going to Okay, what I'm going to do is use the tortilla [laughter] to thicken up the salsa. >> Okay, so what you just tried it again, >> but more cuz I think we got somewhere. >> Okay, maybe. Did we? I think so. >> I think so. >> I don't know. It might have been worse. It might have been better. I honestly We're a little bit lost. We're lost in the salsa right now. Um, we're going to try one more thing. We're going to thick it up with some tortilla. >> Oh, I just burped. That was awful. I know. >> All I've had today is coffee and that. >> Oh god. >> And beans. >> Okay, we're going to thicken this up. We're going to strain it. Tortillas. We're going to start filling and frying. >> Yeah. >> Which one? So, I was worried that this was only a 5 minute stock, but because we added all the chicken bones from the rotisserie chickens, it's not um it's kind of it's pretty flavorful. And I added all the chicken jelly, so you can do it. Stop. I can you not act like that doesn't work? Because that's like my favorite thing in the kitchen, the bar. It's so convenient. >> So convenient. That was not exaggerated at all. That was my lived experience. That was real. Excuse me. Oh my gosh. >> How am I supposed to get stock out of here when it's 80% chicken? [laughter] >> I literally can't see any liquid in the pot. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Do that. >> Try try it. Is it good? >> You see it? Why don't >> you try [snorts] it? >> I will. >> Yeah. Let's get that going in there. That looks nice. >> What? >> That looks nice. >> Thank you. Many are saying this. >> Okay, I'm going to add this to the bowl. >> Got you, Taylor. [laughter] Got you. I got a whole wheez. All right. Sound like that little penguin in Toy Story 2. Believe [laughter] his name is Whezzy. >> Do you like cooking with me, too? >> I feel trapped. I feel like no matter what I say, it's going to be twisted and used against me. You're just like my M. Anyway, so what what are these tortillas? >> These are tortillas. You had a good idea of steaming them because they were so hard. >> They were They were incredibly hard. And uh fancy tortillas can also just be delicious and soft. And so I don't know why these are hard, but they are incredibly organic. >> They smell good. >> Steamy and hard. Are we talking about my my weekend [laughter] >> plans? Sorry. Are you implying your your last weekend was steamy and hard or this upcoming one is going to be? >> Can we go? >> Cuz you you sound like you're going to end. Okay. Trevor Well, Trevor's got a steamy and hard weekend. >> I don't like that. >> Steam steamy and hard weekend. >> Steamy and hard weekend. >> Steamy and hard weekend. That's exciting. >> This has been a turn. >> That's [laughter] >> okay. I took the fish out of here. >> This looks good. Can I taste it? I can't taste it cuz then we're going to There's not going to be enough for the tacos. >> Okay. What if we just like >> This looks really delicious. >> Should we split this piece? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Cuz I want to make sure that I salted it. I No, I think the the taco seasoning is good. >> The taco seasoning is good. A little bit on there. Good. Like dark chili spice. This is going to This is going to taste really good. Yeah, I I like it. >> I like cods the fish for tacos. We could stretch the meat out and get more, but >> remember Oh, I was going to tell the viewers um remember >> Hi viewers. >> Remember that time that you brought in the rockfish from Arowan? >> Yes, that's right. So some days if we don't have any catered lunch or family meal planned in the kitchen, I will go to arowana and I will get a pound of lean animal flesh and uh sometimes a tub of yogurt and I will eat that lean animal flesh and the yogurt you see for sustenance throughout the day. Many times I get their cheapest ground turkey. I was feeling fancy and I wanted fish. I brought in locally caught rockfish which was the cheapest >> rockfish. I'm more of a jazz fish guy myself. >> This has been a Trevor. Yeah, that's pretty good. No, I think we can all agree that's pretty good. [laughter] Anyways, it was rotten. It smelled up the whole office. Disgusting. I still ate it. >> So bad. >> I still ate it. >> It was actually rotten. >> Yes, I ate it all. >> Somebody asked me yesterday, Josh, how's your gut health? >> Probably not very good. >> I said fantastic. I tell you, I said fantastic. I got a lot of critters down there. >> Who's asking you about your gut health? >> I don't know. Someone did that recently. It was someone in here. >> Oh. >> Um concerned. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This pineapple salt is really good. Good job. >> I say if you don't use it, you lose. Oh, thank you. If you don't use it, you lose it. You know, you got all the you got all these bacteria in your gut microbiome. Just begging begging to get in little scuffles with other bacteria. Get them down there, man. >> That looks dude. Hey, killer. >> I made four tacos. 50 bucks. What a deal. >> We Okay, so we're going to take some tacos. I'm going to put Yeah, I did that. A little dollop of cheese in the tacos. And then we're going to take a nice hefty spoonful of this meat and pepper mixture. Wow, that is a hefty spoonful. And then >> Dude, I didn't try this. Have you tried this? >> Yeah, it's great. >> Nice and spicy. And then we're going to take this and we're just we're going to fry this. >> Yum. >> How hot is that oil? Do you think? Do you have a thermometer? >> I do. It's right here. Allow me. >> Check it out. >> Oh, magnetized fan. All right, get them in there, man. Well, no. Here, we're going to fill We're going to fire these in batches. [laughter] >> Yeah. What happened? That wasn't even performative. That was just how my brain goed. >> Yeah. This is looking at round 275. >> Can I tell you what happened with all the stammering and yammering was concern [music] because these I thought would sort of stick together more, >> but it's just going to be really difficult. Do you have a slotted spatula >> uh to sort of remove these cuz we're going to do a very shallow fry on these? >> I bet I could find it though. I bet I can find it. >> And we're going to do >> I have a freaking idea. >> Yeah. What's the idea? >> Freaking idea, dude. No. >> No more. No more this. >> That's not good. What? >> What do you want? >> This. This. You fools. Big big lot. A lot lot of them. So much. So much. We're pivoting immediately. We're doing an oven B. Oh, check this. We're doing an airfried taco dorado here. By air fry, I mean we're going to put it in our oven that barely works. >> Hold on. Hold on. Right. Question here. I got to ask a question here. Is this the first time in Mythical Kitchen history that Josh has opted to put something in the oven instead of frying it? Instead of frying. Normally, it's the other way around. Norally he's like, "Hey, what if we just drop it in the fryer?" How many times have I heard Josh How many times have we heard Josh say, "What if we just drop it in the fryer?" And and sometimes it's just a slice of cheese. >> Dude, you just put it in oil. WHAT DO YOU [laughter] >> OH GOD. Old habits try so hard. >> Typically, you would fry a taco dorado, right? And you you could make a little uh assembly line here, but I think we can just lube each of these with oil. Pop it in a hot oven at 450° for like 15 minutes. >> Yeah, dude. I'm tracking. >> Let's do that. Let's get an assembly line going. I'm frying up a snack and assembly line. Wait, who's where am I? >> Get here. Check this out. >> What part of the line am I? [laughter] No more of that. Trevor, take Check this out. Where's the Dollar Tree oil? Dollar tree oil. Don't throw it cuz I got hot. Okay, throw it. But make it high and outside. There it is. Check this out. >> Technique. >> Are you sure? >> Huh? >> Are you sure? >> Oh, Lily. I've never I've never seen the future more clearly in my life. [laughter] >> Yeah, I know. I'm liking what's happening here. You see what I'm saying? I'm loving how you're just spreading the oil bare hand on there. >> Well, yeah, cuz you're going to get some on this. That's frying off. What? You you seem to be most of the line. >> No. No. What's >> as far as the assembly portion of this? >> I can help. If you do not see this so clearly. Yeah. So, what I'm gonna do is I'm going to >> A lot of eye statements happening here. >> Sure. So, what we as a team are going to do is I'm going to fill these and you line them up here. Line them up here. >> Line them up. >> Line them up. You >> want me to shingle them at all or kind of >> No. No. Try and try and not get not get a lot of overlap on them. I think we're going to get a full poll of 40 perfectly cooked oven airfried tacos doradas. You think we're going to get all 40? >> I think we're getting all 40 in here. >> Look, I think that we have the ingredients to get all 40. I think like our skill I'm I'm going to shoot I say like 36. 36 feels like an achievable number. >> Well, we got to we we're really burning some uh snack and taco here. >> We Now it's a we statement. [laughter] >> Now it's a we. >> Victory has many fathers, but defeat is an orphan. Hey everyone, welcome back. Uh, chicken's here in the pot with the sauce and stuff. Oh yeah, Lily, get up on your Can we get a step stool for Lily so she can see inside the pot? >> See inside the pot. It looks nice. >> Yeah, it looks nice. >> Chicken mush tastes nice, too. And Lily's made what I am hearing word on the street is a pretty tasty guac. [laughter] >> What's wrong with >> Are you getting sick? >> That was a laugh. God, >> I'm heating up these tortillas. hard sometimes to work with you. >> Yeah, I know. I agree. It's not ideal. >> Like working with yourself [laughter] working with you. >> Oh, see, I disagree. [snorts] [clears throat] >> I think I'm a joy to work with. >> Even though you hate women, >> dude. That's not funny. >> Um, >> it makes me so mad when you say that cuz I don't. >> If I was a man, would it be fine if I said it? >> How do you treat me? Should we assemble these? >> I don't know, man. It's like I thought I was coming here to have fun with my friend and cook some tacos and then you just keep saying over and over again that I hate women and I'm a misogynist and it's just not even true. >> You're getting teary eyed. I don't want you to hate women. Like I >> I don't That's the whole point is that I don't and you're misrepresenting me in front of all these people and it's like I just I it's just not the truth. >> It's true. Like when a woman PMS is >> Can you stop talking for a second? Oh my god. Can we just build the tacos? >> How many? Okay, Lily, how many tacos do you think we're going to get? This is a large pot of chicken. >> So, there's 70 tortillas in here. >> I don't want to be a pessimist. I don't think we're getting 70 >> because of the chicken amount. >> Oh, >> and maybe the way that you're scooping out that guac like you need a charge. >> I'm scooping the guac. Interesting. >> You told me to double the guac. >> I didn't say double. I said add a little more. And you went in with a bigger spoonful than you had the first time. >> Off. Okay. Well, now that's You don't have to. >> Okay, >> now I've handled the guac. >> What you're doing here is interesting because it's dollop, so it's like it's like one bite of guac. I think maybe I care about your presentation. >> I just think Let's get a little cheese and onions going on here. >> Okay, you go. You >> me. Okay, I'm just going to get a little crumble. Is that What is that? >> A nice little bite. >> It's like a nice little bite. >> And then like >> Oh, just like a cup. Yeah, just like a couple. And then like >> just like a just like a like a just a couple onions. >> Yeah. Just like that. >> Just like that. >> Yeah. >> And we'll finish that one. >> Yeah. Later. >> But we made a perfect one. So >> we'll see you when we make a hundred. [screaming] >> I think we're going to harmonize. >> Are we rolling? >> Holy smokes, dude. >> This is a lot of tacos that you guys made. These kind of look equivalent cuz you look at them and just go that's a lot of tacos. But this is How many tacos are here? >> This is 70 tacos. We did it. >> Chicken tinga tacos with like a fair amount of chicken in there. >> Mhm. >> I mean five whole freaking chickens. >> Also, I'm so shocked that you got guac in each taco. >> Yeah. >> I saw you building them and I was like, they're going to run out by taco 12. No, we have 38 tacos dor somewhere in between tacos dorados and tacos salvapore which you would think would be uh you know oxymoronic but somehow they're very wet but also crispy. Um bean salad and then Lily >> give me 10 minutes to count the tacos. >> Yes. Gotcha. >> So four >> I thought you were going to do it out loud. Do you want to do it out loud just to check your math? One, three, seven, eight. >> Women in STEM. Look at that. We support. Sorry. I'm sorry. >> Why are we booing women in STEM? >> It's pretty messy. >> What the hell? >> Should we try this? I mean, right off the bat, this looks gorgeous. Lily, yours look really incredible. >> Thank you. >> Did you have a lot of leftovers from that? >> Um, I just had some leftover pineapple salsa. >> Mine was pretty We pretty much used all the stuff. >> That's crazy, >> dude. That's That's nuts out of line. We had like a little bit of leftover steak and meat. We ran out of tortillas. That was a limiting factor. It was 38 instead of 40 cuz I did eat one. That's my bad. And then we lost one. It fell. It fell off in the oven. You know, 5% lost. It's not too bad. Should we start here? >> And then go over. >> It's okay. Lily, please. >> Yum. So, these are the steak and cheese crispy tacos. Dorado. >> M. M m salsa. Oh, you get extra salsa. >> This is how I like tacos dorado. So, like wet, right? You normally get like a salsa hito mate on there. It's kind of sitting there. It's soaking. What do you guys think? >> It's really nice. That >> is a delicious treat. We were trying to ration the steak and cheese a little bit. Like, it's a great taco, dude. It's filling. Honestly, the beans and corn on top. Oh, sweetness, a little richness. This salsa could have been way worse than it is. >> It's not. I like it. >> You need that acidity on it. >> Excuse me. >> Mhm. >> Now, if you gave me that taco and then you asked me to guess what meat was inside, it would never have got to take them. >> No. >> Okay. >> Do Do you mind? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Get fingered in there. I don't think your fingers needed to go that deep in your mouth. [laughter] >> Look into the side profile there. I don't touch me with that hand. E. >> No. >> I wish there was a secondary salsa on it. Know the chicken tinka is already kind of been sauced. >> Yeah. >> You know, but like >> I wish we had of that. >> It Well, technically we do. >> M. >> What a dude. M. Dude, that's real nice. >> Mhm. That's a real taco party. >> All jokes and Trevor Ever's bits aside, this is like impressive and really inspiring that you can spend $50 at Walmart and make 70 of these tacos. 70 like good fresh real this I'm very happy with what we were able to jerryrig together from Dollar Tree right >> but you're showing up to like a party you're inviting friends over >> like I'd serve this but that's cuz people come in you know coming to my house with a certain expectation of like things aren't going to be quite right you know in a way but go over here like this is gorgeous >> everything is it's like genuinely good >> and we got the chicken stock >> the chicken stock >> we got chicken stock >> for a drink >> for a drink So many. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> So many things. Wow. >> Like for real, when you're using something like a pre-cooked rotisserie chicken, >> the worst is when the breast is dry, right? So take that breast and like rehydrate it. Use it. If you're using it in a soup, if you're making like a saucy brazed thing like chicken tinga, >> make it wet. [laughter] >> Hot and steamy weekends. >> Make that breast wet. Hot and steamy. >> The steam implies hot, >> but the steam does not imply hard, which is why you specified hard and steamy. And and it's funny because often times steamed things are not hard. >> No, it's not. >> Steaming softens speaks to the hardness to start if it could remain hard amidst all the steam. >> Amidst the steam. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> So, should we try those tacos or what's going on now? These ones just I'm real excited to try this fish here. >> The tortillas. >> Oh, >> they're little >> arrowan. Pretty >> do better. >> Do better. Nothing's made me not want to do better than somebody going do better. It is cutting my mouth. >> Yeah, the edges are are razor sharp. And we did everything. We We grilled them. We steamed them. I'm I'm like a little worried. >> It's good flavors. >> Yeah. I'm going to try the fish on it. And the fish is great. >> Yeah. That said, amidst all three of these tacos and price notwithstanding, this is the best bite. >> Yeah. >> Wow. >> I agree. >> This is really incredible. Y'all absolutely killed it. I mean, really proving how far you can stretch $50 with a little bit of ingenuity and thinking outside of the box and then a lot of just badass cookery out here. Um, we got a lot of tacos. We got a lot of people to eat the tacos. We did a little impromptu TACO PARTY. >> HEY, TACO PARTY. >> HEY, SOMEONE PUT DADDY Yankee on on the speakers. Hey, taco fiesta. More like it. Am I right? Come on. >> Come on. Rolling. That could be hot on there. Somersault across the burner. >> Do you like it? Eat it. >> Eat it. >> Eat it. >> Come on. Get in there. What are you eating? >> Hey folks at home, make these tacos. >> Check out our latest episode of A Hot Dog as a Sandwich out now. Huh? Okay, Chase, cover your ears. I'm >> I'm feeding him the normal Dorito. Sh. Okay, Chase, uncover your ear. All right, open your mouth, [clears throat] please. It's a big one. It's a full It's a full unbroken chip. >> [snorts]
