all of those 17 years there’s one thing we’ve never done we’ve never dug a hole so we’re going to dig a hole we already dug the hole that’s true and this is that video yes you’re gonna you’re gonna be with us all along the way was that your stomach yes are you hungry for some hole it ain’t easy to dig a hole in Los Angeles no as a matter of fact you have to drive approximately 90 minutes outside of town in order to find a spot where you have been approved to dig a hole without interruption so we are going to the desert to dig a hole um I mean this is where people bury bodies we’re not doing that we’re not we’re not we’re not burying anything no we’re just digging a hole how big is the hole don’t don’t even think about it we’re just digging the hole man we’re going out here we’re just doing our thing digging digging digging a hole well listen I know you want to be in the moment I want to be in the moment as well but I kind of want to know what we’re what we’re signing up for you got somewhere to be no I just want to know when we’ve succeeded uh the biggest hole that we can dig if we decide that we’re going to dig the biggest hole that we can dig then if that’s any smaller than what we were hoping we would dig we’re going to leave disappointed and I’m feeling good right now I don’t want to leave disappointed I wanna I would be feeling good now yeah then and in the future yeah so why don’t let’s just decide on a size a medium-sized hole we dug a medium-sized hole that’s certainly manageable it’s not setting expectations too high for us or for the audience it’s also not setting up too low it’s not like we dug a little hole right it’s the Goldilocks of holes we dug a Goldilocks hole no we don’t say that could be the title no we dug a medium-sized salt there’s a lot of spots for a hole I couldn’t think of a better place to dig a hole but you’re right there’s a lot of place that we could dig a hole I mean we’re not going to turn this whole thing into a hole because that’s uh that would be well that’d be too big I feel like we needed we should do something like um I feel like there’s there’s like a spiritual element to this Marco Polo are you just following me just like what you go you go first just kind of just feel it out a little bit I’m gonna follow her where my spirit leads and I’m gonna place my hand over my heart when I feel I’m there is this kind of that’s a philosophical question why is it that we choose to identify with the whole rather than the hill why is it that we are drawn to saying we dug a hole rather than we made a hill I think this is a universal thing you know what there is nothing I’d rather be doing right now than digging a hole seriously this is exactly what I want to be doing and there’s no I love that for you and there’s no one else I’d rather be digging hey man there’s nobody I’d really be digging a hole within you really though thanks for being here but I said it and I meant it well maybe I mean if I could if I could I invited you over to my house and I said hey come look at this hole I dug in my backyard what would you say when you saw it I would say you dug a damn big hole exactly and what do we set out to do a medium-sized I do remember that okay but can you blame me no I mean you’re having fun I was having fun we were having fun just get back in there and scrape some off until we get to medium I mean medium is probably I don’t know like it’s kind of hard to tell but we I think we’ll we’ll know when we feel no we can’t do that there is a medium-sized hole inside of every large hole My Hope was that we could recapture the medium-sized hole simply by taking some of the large hill we had created from the large hole and putting it back into the large holder then therefore make a medium-sized so I don’t think there’s a medium-sized hole inside every large size hole I think that moment has passed and you convinced me say that again you convinced me because while technically there is a medium-sized Soul inside of every large hole I completely agree that in the spirit of what we’re trying to do here is to dig a medium-sized hole and it’s okay to fail a large hole by succeeding too hard a large hole that becomes a medium-sized hole is a substantially different thing we failed we dug a large hole it’s large-ish [Music] our problem was the first time we went out there we had not even established what a medium-sized hole was did we think we’re just going to suddenly get to a point and be like oh this feels medium I think I kind of did no we didn’t and so and we just didn’t think it through so then it was about determining and getting on the same page as to what is medium-sized exactly that yeah I mean do you think that Peter Jackson just went out and started making Lord of the Rings actually no he didn’t because I watched the behind the scenes many times and I feel like this analogy they did like a vaccine the wrong message like a previz they did a pre-vis we did it the same way they made Lord of the Rings is all I’m saying yeah and I don’t agree over the years we have learned a valuable lesson rather than learning how to do something yourself just hire someone who can do a thing that you can’t and then give them a nickname like Twinkie fingers or twinkle fingers yeah or twinkle fingers he responds to all of those all right twinkle fingers what you got for dig a medium-sized toll you need to dig a tiny medium-sized hole so you know exactly how big a normal medium-sized hole should be and every time he says that I’m like oh gosh you’re right always original big hole right and the recreating the hill uh and this is a scale model of the exact excavator that we have so get a feel for a medium-sized hole I feel like you’re saying a good spot okay there you go so I’m gonna go all the way out and I’m gonna dig a little hole well not a little hole I’m gonna I’m digging a little hole you can dig a little hole and then before you get to immediately before you get into a medium side so but you can’t dig a large hole and then make it medium which is why we’re doing this okay I don’t know though man I mean you’ve you’ve made I mean I don’t even know if that’s medium right there this is a this is a large excavator but you know what’s your point I was saying that you did two little digs of this thing and you’ve already made bigger than a little hole I mean like that may be a medium-sized hole for all I know I think this excavator is too big to make a medium-sized hole are you sure you’re not overthinking this all right all right what I’m only gonna say what if you’re gonna talk to my figurine so you don’t think that we can dig a bona fide medium-sized hole with an excavator what you don’t think you don’t have to break it what I’m saying is that I don’t know if we can dig a medium-sized toll with the particular excavator that we rented that’s the 35g that’s way too many G’s oh for real yeah okay well we’re gonna take us with us maybe if I was really well trained with that thing I could be very smooth and precise but where does that leave me I I’m not uh beside a medium-sized hole so so basically you got to get inside the medium-sized hole Yeah to finish the medium uh-huh because I think this is the outline in medium oh we got it we gotta dial in the depth a little bit yeah and it’s right now it’s ugly it has a it has a rim nobody likes a rim on their holes I see why they invented that machine we’re still barking it’s not the shape of the hole it’s the size of the hole but it’s also the depth of the hole well depth is a depth is very important right yeah yeah and let’s not go too deep oh no this is too shallow of a medium-sized hole it needs to be an ouch I’ll fix it I’ll fix it don’t worry don’t worry don’t
