machine hmm But what energy source would be the most powerful it looks like we’re gonna have to launch a fair test uh what does that mean it’s a type of experiment in a fair test you repeat a test over and over again while keeping everything the same except for one variable a variable is any Factor trait or condition that can exist in differing amounts or types ah so whenever the experiment results in a new outcome you can trust that it was caused by the only variable you changed precisely so in our experiment we’re trying to start our our machine here in the exact same way every single time and we’re only change one variable which will be the source of energy we’re going to need to collect some potential energy sources to experiment with hammer where could we find some this is the field of abandoned dreams it’s a junkyard where Thomas Edison keeps all of his field inventions certainly there are some potential energy sources in here hey look I see some now I got dibs some experiments are real conceived or unfinished so this may be very very dangerous I probably should have said that first so you’re basically sending us into a giant field of booby traps yes you do want energy source is the most powerful the energy will push the minecart and we’ll measure how fast it goes in miles per hour the source that pushes it the fastest is the most powerful for it to be a fair test we’re gonna have to keep every variable exactly the same except for one so let’s go through all the variables that we won’t change first the weather well it looks like it’s a beautiful sunny day which will be the same for every single test then there’s the weight oh I had a big launch I’ll be the test driver for each experiment each cart will start from the same distance and we’ll use the same track and we’re always seeing into the future uh well I mean I guess we could sure why not into the future so we’re keeping every variable the same every time you run a test the weather is the same our weight is the same our location’s the same our track is the same and uh our enthusiasm is the same so we’re only going to change one thing our energy source we have flunky’s horse we have lackey’s TNT Keynes coal and my AC generator correct then we know that any changes in the outcome are because of that one variable so what’s our first energy source check out my energy source it’s got
