(raps table) She has an issue with trolls? ♪ (dramatic chord) ♪ – (Finebros) So who was that girl? – Boxxy, right? – (weird voice) Boxxy! – Absolutely no idea who that is. – No. – Never heard of her. – If I have watched her, I don’t remember. – She said she was Boxxy. I don’t know for sure who she really is. – (Finebros) How would you describe her? – Insane. – She is the embodiment of “13-year-old girl.” – Well, she is YouTube. – A.D.D. to the absolute maximum. – Super hyper-energetic. – Creepy. Why is she in a dark room? And why she’s got so much [inaudible]? And what’s all this? Like (choking noise) – Fffshhh. You know? – (Finebros) What do you think of her makeup? – It’s over the top. – Love it, just bold eyes. I’m a sucker for eyes. – She’s not emo. (laughter) – (Finebros) All of Boxxy’s videos back in the day got millions of views. Why do you think she went so viral? – It’s so funny and so random, ’cause you don’t meet people like that. – I don’t know. The internet’s weird. Why would that go viral? I don’t know. – ‘Cause there wasn’t much content at that time. – (laughs) – And– – In the land of the blind, one-eyed man is king. And I think there wasn’t as much great content in 2009, and this probably was entertaining enough. – She’s pretty. – Kind of a cute girl; that always helps. A lot of pervs on the internet. – There was a period of time where being sexually attractive minus quality content would enable you to find great success on YouTube. – And a certain website MIGHT HAVE blown it up. – (Finebros) I remember that you made a video covering Boxxy early on, and some have said that you helped her become more viral. – Maybe– – (Finebros) It was big already, but– – I’m on certain places on the internet with my day, and I came across it when it was in its very early stages. And I was like, “Love.” It’s 98% the eyes, 2% the crazy. I have weird issues, and I dig it. – (Finebros) Is this a real or a fake persona? – Oh, I guess it’s fake. – I’m gonna say yeah, but I think fake. – I think she’s real. – No. – Why? – It’s a character. – I think it’s a fake persona. I think I’ve seen videos where she’s somewhat normal. – Like many other YouTubers, this is an exaggerated version of her. – I think it’s real. -I think it’s real. – Real. I’m going with real. – (Finebros) It’s actually fake. She was playing a character. – I know. (Finebros snicker) I was just joking. – (Finebros) This is a fake character. – Oh. – Boom. – She had a press conference! Ha ha ha! Boxxy’s like, “Mm, hi. (slurring) And this is not real.” Guess what, Boxxy. Nobody gives a [bleep]! – (Finebros) Some have said that Boxxy was trolling. What is a trolling video? – Well, I guess trolling is something done with the purpose of instigating a response. – They’re trying to get attention by making people angry. – Anything to make anyone angry over anything. – Trolling videos are videos that people make, and then afterwards, they’re like, “Oh my god, I look so stupid. I’m gonna pretend like I did that on purpose.” – I believe we trolled when we said that you didn’t exist on YouTube. – Especially with this industry, like acting or whatever. Like, we’re all camera (discreetly) whores. (laughs abruptly) – It’s when you take a boat and you put a big net behind it and you pull it, and that’s when you control. Or when there’s a guy waiting for you to pay a toll at a bridge. That’s another way of trolling. Or not answering someone’s questions for a really long time. That’s another way of trolling. (explosion) ♪ (death metal) ♪ (sinister laugh) – (Finebros) Back to Boxxy, people got OBSESSED with her. Some people thought she was the queen of the internet. Others wanted to destroy her and started tracking her down in real life. What is it about this girl? – I don’t know why people grasp on to weird things, man. – I think people were more mad that this person popped out of nowhere and is instantly famous for no reason. – There’s a certain section of the internet that shall not be named that gets very obsessed with things and stuff and people, and they ruin people’s lives sometimes. So you have to be careful to not mention their names. 4chan. – Didn’t it create some sort of divide within 4chan or something? – What happened to her? I’m really scared. Is she okay? Boxxy! – (Finebros) What does it say about the state of the internet, where you just make videos, and people track you down, and sometimes bad things even happen? – There are a lot of crazy people out there, a lot of fanaticals. – I think it’s scary, like the thought that someone could show up at your house with a gun. Like, that’s freaky. – It’s what happens when you start dealing with people on 4chan. I guess your information and your address gets out there, and suddenly you have people showing up on your doorstep. – Such a wasted opportunity for Home Alone-style booby traps. – You’re asking a question of human moral character and what is it that might drive human beings, when they’re put in a situation of believing they’re anonymous and invincible, to feel free to attack cyberbullies, stalk, carry out these things which in many cases are actual crimes. – I think it sorta comes with the platform. – I got a letter that said, “I know where you live.” And the next sentence was, “I don’t know what you want to do with that information.” – It’s interesting this world that we’re in, where we invite this level of intimacy. – I separate myself with the person that appears on my channel in a lot of ways. So there are hate comments, same as if there are love comments. They’re not at me as a person, like as Jackson here right now. They’re as JacksGap on YouTube, that projection of me. And so that’s the only way that I can– this is really deep. Some people, they let all the love go to their head. But if you let that go to your head, then you’re gonna let all the hate go to your head, and the internet’s gonna screw you. – The internet is a toilet, and it’s full of crap… me being a part of that crap. I’m still in the toilet, and so is Boxxy. And so are all the kids that are obsessed with her. So poop high-five. – You’re gonna get some really, really bad stuff. But you get the most creative, most amazing things that make the internet the internet. I mean, it is this big scary place that has fantastic things. – (Finebros) And finally, can you give us a Boxxy impression? – Bum. Charles! (laughs) – (perky voice) Okay, hi.
