Today we're cooking your struggle meals.
Welcome back to Mythical Kitchen, where
we all got to eat and we all struggle
sometimes. And even through those
struggles, we still got to figure out
how to feed ourselves. So, we have
pulled several of you out there. That's
right, you are subscribers. And we asked
what you like to make when you are
struggling. And we're going to make some
of those today. I forgot about my
favorite struggle meal, which is called
eight eggs.
I made that. I made that yesterday.
Nothing in the fridge the other day. So,
what I did is I uh scrambled eight eggs
with salt. Anyways, the point is the
struggle is real. Uh for many reasons,
you know, could be mental, could be
financial, could be physical. Maybe
you're just brutally hung over and you
don't know what to do. All of those
struggles are valid in some way. And we
have an entire paniply of them. You
ready to get cooking?
>> Absolutely.
>> I'm ready to struggle. Oh, and to take
you along the really horribly messed up
physical and mental journey, we have
>> this is I think
>> the device from uh Crank High Voltage
that explodes if Jason Stathithm's heart
drops below a certain BPM. I don't even
know how it works. Someone's going to
need to put that on me like a dog.
>> Ready?
>> That's pretty good. That's pretty good.
>> Now your booty. Okay, that's okay. Here.
>> Mythical Kitchen's first ever booty cam.
Let's get cooking. We got a really good
one off the bat. So, this is from Ashley
Holmes42:221.
A hot dog cut lengthwise so that it can
butterfly and lie flat. Put onto a
baking sheet. Plop mashed potatoes on
top of the hot dog to completely cover
it. Then, cover the mashed potatoes with
a slice of American cheese and put it
into the oven long enough to get the
cheese melty and enjoy. An old high
school friend's mom taught me this one
day when I told her I didn't have a lot
of food at home, but I needed to keep my
toddler fed. She had three kids by the
time she was 22 and happily shared her
life hack with me. This is really sweet.
You know, there's so much we can parse
together on what people should and
shouldn't eat, and at the end of the
day, it's like people need to eat.
Cutting board. Boom. Let me get a I need
to wet a paper towel. This is the
biggest food hack. Put it down.
And then
And it doesn't slide no more.
Please clap. Please clap. Please clap
like J. Okay, we need hot dogs.
>> Is this how these episodes go? I've
never done one of these before. This is
your this your first struggle meals
episode.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Tre Trevor People call these the
Gas League episodes cuz Trevor will be
over there just like
>> Okay. So, we're taking the good old Bob
Evans mashed potatoes. Now, growing up,
I would have been using the 99 uh cent
store um uh instant mashed potatoes.
Were they called like Hungry Jack?
Should we talk about the
anti-ircumcision movement? I used to eat
a lot of hot dogs and mashed potatoes
when I was a kid, but my grandma called
them sausages. She would say, "David,
Josh, would you like some sausages?" I
say, "Yes, Granny. I'd like sausages
very much, please." And then it would
just be microwave national on top
instant mashed potatoes. All right,
we're just going to take some mashed
potatoes. I'm going to dollop it across
all this. I'm going kind of casserole
style American cheese.
Maybe I fold it. That's what I'm going
to do.
>> You know what this is missing? What's
that?
>> Cream of chicken soup.
>> This needs cream of chicken soup.
>> Cream of mushroom.
>> This Oh, yeah. This needs a cream of
soup on it to make it a little bit more,
you know.
>> Guys, we need to do
>> our official Maybe do this on the
podcast, Nicole.
>> Cream of Josh.
>> No. No. But would I like
>> You said that to me. You said we should
make
>> I have never asked you to make cream OF
JOSH. THAT IS
>> NOT TRUE.
>> LET the record show.
>> No, no, no.
Like three times in the last six years.
I have not SAID MAKEUP.
>> SOMEBODY GO to searchicality. Google
searchicality.
I read it. Red goes everything.
>> That's in the oven. That's going to be
really fun. This is This is an old
school southern dish that I'm really
excited for. Canned pear halves. Drain
the juice. Dollop of mayonnaise and a
pear half where the core used to be.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
This is something that I think we've
talked about in the podcast. We I've
never made it before. I've never had it
before.
When's the last time you had pear hats,
dude?
>> So singularly lonely.
All right, so I'm going to take the
cream of chicken soup. Cream of chicken
soup is it's the yellowest of their
cream of soups. Campbell's cream of
wine, which includes cream of mushroom,
cream of asparagus, my personal
favorite, and then cream of chicken.
>> Let's see some cream of Josh.
>> That wasn't me. That was Trevor.
>> You giggled, so you confirmed it.
>> I DIDN'T KNOW.
>> YOU GIGGLED, so you confirmed it.
>> NO, NO, NO, NO.
>> THE GIGGLE IS AN ENDORSEMENT. THE
GIGGLE'S not an endorsement. I WAS
LAUGHING CUZ I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE.
>> I WAS LAUGHING cuz I was uncomfortable.
>> Marino Chase. This isn't part of the
struggle meal,
>> but this is part of the original
southern pair salad recipe.
>> We got necess
>> Josh, there's a there's a literal
outbreak of of a parasite making people
their brains out.
>> Oh, you do you guys heard false positive
AT TAYLOR FARMS?
>> OH, THE YOURSELF DISEASE.
>> Hell yeah, dude.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, I think I think they're
back to square one. They don't know why
people are their pants. I know
why I've been my pants lately.
I drank 18 beers and I went fishing with
the boys and we caught about 15 lbs of
fish and then we just ate it raw. And
so, I had a lot of raw fish with the
boys and 18 beers. And then, yeah, I had
got a little diarrhea. Julia's like,
"Get yourself checked for parasites." I
was like, "I think it was the 18 beers
and a lot of raw fish." And if we're
being honest, I made five salsas from
scratch. A lot of habaneros.
>> Oh yeah.
>> A lot of habaneros. So like what am I
going to do now? Have You think I can
have normal shits after that? Absolutely
not. This is us just watching Turnstyle
videos in the cabin,
>> guys. I don't know. This kind of looks
like it got parasite on it. Well, we're
eating it.
>> Just omit it.
>> You're adding the cherries. Get
>> You guys don't want the lettuce. Okay,
we're 86ing the lettuce. Wait, I got to
check.
>> I would 86 the lettuce.
>> These hot dogs are done, man. These hot
dogs are great.
>> It doesn't have a lot on here.
>> I like the way his looks.
>> Oh, it looks like my breakfast in the
morning.
>> Yum. Honestly, there's something.
>> Should I pull it? Should I pull it?
>> Pull it. Pull it.
>> I would pull it.
>> Pull it.
>> God, you have You have no phone
organization.
>> This guy has so many apps.
>> Damn. How do you know?
>> Every airline, every new ticketing
thing. I don't know. Kind of like
>> I hate colors. A lot of colors on my but
everything's organized.
>> So beautifully organized. Mine's kind of
a mish mush of whatever. There's a nice
plate.
>> A little bit of a fancy plate.
>> I have OCDs.
>> It's not where the alp
granny she got hit by a bazooka.
>> Tony sent that to me on Slack.
>> Tony sent me
>> I was going to send that earlier.
>> RP my granny. She got hit by a bazooka.
Can I sing that?
>> I don't know what song that is till this
day. That's a song.
>> Can we sing that or will we get soon?
>> Bazooka by Miami XO. Come back after the
year 2000.
>> I like these pants.
>> Huh?
>> I like these pants.
>> I don't like this shirt, though.
>> God damn it. I think Just
>> Just say the nice part. You don't have
to say the mean part. Just say the nice
part.
>> Why don't you like his shirt? You think
it ALL THE TIME.
>> WHAT KIND OF MEAN STUFF DO I SAY TO YOU?
>> OH, is that the skin color shirt? Is
that why?
>> Yeah, they don't like my skin color
shirt.
>> You know, this is the only shirt I don't
like.
>> Big dollop of mayonnaise.
>> Sick.
>> Right in the middle.
>> Oh my god.
>> There's no god here. Just mayonnaise.
>> This is a This is a wild milange of
colors.
>> It is beautiful. I must say I like it.
>> And imagine if there was a little bit of
parasite lettuce right underneath.
Well, there you have it. Southern pear
salad.
>> Please glad. Please. That
>> looks like something. That's like
something one person brought to a party
and they thought it was going to be an
it.

today's episode. I'm going to go eat
these eggs.
This one's exciting for me. This one's
exciting for me. You know those cream
Japanese fruit sandwiches? Well, I
wanted to make them with more protein. I
find out that if you use a protein shake
and some sugar-free pudding mix, you get
a really good consistency. So, we're
going to do that.
>> It's more like a
It's more like a
>> cheese. Anybody want some cheese? flesh.
You want some cheese color? That's why
you don't like it.
>> Well, mix the cheese with the mashed
potatoes.
>> It's like a It has like a gray
undertone.
>> Yeah.
>> Like a gray white undertone that's a
little bit like
>> It's like muted.
>> Yeah. It's like a weird muted pink that
only genitalia can have.
>> Strawberries.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Josh, we figured out what color tone
your shirt is.
>> What is it?
>> Genital.
>> I've chopped my fruit
and I made my pum alig. You want some?
>> Yeah. Can you get me like um you know
those big soup spoons we have the like
flat wide spoons?
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Can you please make sure that's the
spoon that I eat that with?
>> I want a wooden spoon.
>> You got a little I'm just eat it
straight off the uh
>> Cheers.
>> I want to put this in a quesadilla.
>> All right. Protein powder. French
vanilla. This is the 5 lb uh gold
standard 100% whey that I used to get
from the Costco when I was a kid.
Instant vanilla pudding mix. I think
it's just modified food starch. Do you
need to Does this need to Where's the
directions? Slowly whisk in some milk.
This is crazy. This is crazy.
>> How do you like it?
>> It's really good.
>> It's really good, huh? All right, we're
going to put this in the fridge, let
this set, and then I'm going to start on
my other recipes. Third recipe.
Golly, look at strawberry. I think it's
four.
>> Huh?
>> Sometimes I put Miracle Whip in my
spaghetti.
Not mayonnaise, but Miracle Whip. I have
to specify cuz my wife thinks they're
the same thing. They're not. Miracle
Whip has too much water in it. It cannot
legally be considered a mayonnaise.
That's right. Miracle Whip was such a
cheap mayonnaise substitute that the
government had to step in and say we got
to have rules here. But anyways, I read
this and we're going to make it true to
size.
Red sauce, hot spaghetti, miracle whip,
bang, bang, bang. That got that got me
thinking. Macaroni salad, right?
Delightful treat. Love macaroni salad.
Why no why no long noodle pasta salad?
You have macaroni salad. Why not
spaghetti salad? Why can't you make a
sugary mayonnaisey spaghetti treat that
I can slurp up and eat it with
chopsticks? That's what I want. Where's
Nicole going?
>> I need a lactate pill.
>> V, do you want a lactate?
>> Taking some cooked spaghetti.
>> Lactate does nothing for me.
>> Little bit of rails. This is the
opposite of struggle spaghetti sauce,
but it's it's so good.
>> Lactate. So, I got deotam and an ant
acid.
>> Just take some creatine. You're fine.
>> Yeah. Yeah, creatine will do.
>> Creatine will do it. Okay, so we got our
spaghetti cooking.
We got a lot to do, ladies and
gentlemen. Now we're putting the Miracle
Whip in the spaghetti. You guys think
it's enough Miracle Whip? I think I
should go more.
>> More more. More
>> more more for the children. So much
more. Josh, come on. What are you doing?
>> Miracle Whip. Sketi up. Up in the past.
Look at that.
>> Wait, aren't you supposed to serve this
cold? Don't you want to do a pasta
salad?
>> I'm doing both.
>> Sorry. Boom. Miracle Whips Getty up in
the past. All right, let's make these
cream cream pan sandwiches. Hold on. We
have Japanese milkbread. Not using it.
Using Wonderbread.
Come on. You going to be using Japanese
milk bread? There's no way, dude.
Wonderbread is arguably more Japanese
milk bread than Japanese milk bread. You
know what I mean? So, the Japanese cream
sandwiches, to be fair, there it is like
a light whipped cream, and that's like
the point, right? It's like a a pretty
like stable light whipped cream and then
fruit in the middle and you cut it and
they're like beautiful. They're kind of
pancromatic. Very aesthetic. This is
just the heaviest,
sweetest, eggiest proteinrich.
Oh Try and I cut the crust up. I
don't know what I'm doing. I don't know.
>> Are you going to wrap it in plastic?
>> I don't think so, dude.
I don't know. wrapped in plastic.
>> I'm not Nick the Giovani. I don't know
how to make these.
>> You are not Nick Gio.
>> He's always making these.
>> You're better.
>> You're always making these damn things.
>> You're Josh Daniel Sharer. Do not
compare yourself to Nick Dioani.
Comparison.
>> His eyes are so blue.
>> They're so blue. They're beautiful.
>> Soorgeous. His eyes are gorgeous.
I think he was looking into my soul.
>> Wait, does he have his degree? And can
you Google if Google if he graduated
from Harvard? If he has a degree, I'm
quitting right now.
Yeah, he graduated.
>> A self-designed concentration in food
and climate.
>> Whoa.
>> He has a degree in climate.
>> You mean to tell me that he did his own?
He literally made his own degree.
>> Yeah.
>> Josh, MAYBE YOU SHOULD QUIT.
>> GUYS, I made the pretty Japanese
sandwiches.
>> Let me see. Let me see. Let me see.
>> It's so nice.
>> Josh, you did such a good job.
>> Salad kiwi sandwich.
Exactly.
>> He's taller than me.
>> HE'S TALLER THAN NICK.
>> He's not stronger than you.
>> He's taller.
>> He's a lot bigger than you. Buffer than
you.
>> Come on. Beautiful.
>> Beautiful.
>> That looks really good.
>> Egg salad.
>> An orange sandwich. Look at it.
>> Josh, that looks so good.
>> Thank you guys.
>> You are so talented.
>> Okay, I made the hot dogs. I made my
pear hat. I got spaghetti with the
Miracle Whip. I'm making another
spaghetti with Miracle Whip. That's just
for me. And I made all my beautiful
sandwiches. Look at it.
>> That's pretty. Right. There it is. Okay.
Should we eat the hot dogs covered in
mashed potatoes and belater?
>> I love this cuz I dream about it on a
daily basis. Looks good.
>> I'm excited about this one. I again, my
grandma used to serve me a lot of hot
dogs with mashed potatoes.
>> Do I eat it where I pick up the whole
weenie?
>> I'm picking up the whole damn wiener.
Okay, whatever. Oh, I got
>> I'm going to I'm going to be a lady
about it.
Never mind.
>> That is punchy.
>> It definitely punches something.
>> Mhm.
>> I'm going give that a six. I'm going
give it a six.
>> I'm going to give it a a seven. The
saltiness of the weenie, the fudgy
cheese,
>> the cheese and mashed potatoes for sure.
>> Can I tell you what I'd do? I would
rather this just be a bed of potatoes
with the sausage on top of it. That's
what my grandma used to make me. This
came with a very sweet story about like
not getting be able to feed her toddler.
I'm going to give it a 10 for the story.
I'm going to give it a three for the
food.
>> Valid. I just think there's better way
to go. I love hot dogs. I I don't love
mashed potatoes. I think hot dogs,
mashed potatoes are good.
>> I think we should go spaghetti next.
>> We have to finish with spaghetti.
>> I think we should dessert a
>> dessert in the middle is fun. Also,
mayonnaise is not dessert.
>> I thought it was Mayonnaise or cool
whip. They're miracle whip.
>> Whatever it is. Oh my god, the texture
is really offputting. I don't think
guys,
>> you have to do it.
>> No. No. I need I need someone to cut it
and put on my fork. I'm not I'm being
serious. I might vomit.
>> You want my spoon?
>> NO.
THIS IS CRAZY. This needs This needs
lettuce.
>> I couldn't do it. I spit it out. I
couldn't do it.
>> Fellas, this is bad.
>> You can see my legs. I'm sorry. I'm
sorry. I know this is a struggle,
>> fellas. This is
>> But I'm struggling.
>> The wetness of the pear with the
fattiness of the mayonnaise.
>> Really, really, really, really bad.
>> Displeasing to everything. I'm so sorry.
>> But can I throw this out? Can I throw
this? And I I I really think what could
save this iceberg lettuce.
I'm I'm dead serious. Not the cherries.
Cherries shouldn't be there though. Like
cherry shouldn't be there. Lettuce eat
it like maybe cuz the lettuce lettuce
and that mayonnaise and the cheese.
Great. And then pear. No, there's
Listen,
>> at some point you can just say that
something's not for you.
>> I give that a zero.
>> That's got to be a zero. Solid 12.
>> Why doesn't mine have any crust?
>> Um, so I think you're supposed to cut
the crust off, but then I didn't want to
do that.
>> I didn't get lazy. Well, I kind of
mangled it and I wanted to get a better
crust.
>> This isn't mangled. What is this again?
Pudding.
>> So, this is um a Japanese cream sando,
but with protein powder and sugar-free
pudding mix. So, there's about 30 g of
protein in every sandwich.
>> Yum.
It's kind of good. I'm give that a 9.5.
>> This is like
>> solid nine.
>> I'm giving this I'm giving this a nine
as well.
>> What a good hack.
>> Great hack.
>> It's great.
>> Inventive. Awesome.
>> Is this the miracle whip skitty? This is
This is Whip Sketty. Oh, good name. I'm
so smart.
>> Zippies Chili in Hawaii.
Google this. It's true. Somebody told me
this and I didn't think it was true. I
Googled it.
>> I have a white shirt on.
>> Free AI. It's true. The main not the
main The secret ingredient in Zippy's
chili is mayonnaise.
You add a scoop of mayonnaise to it and
the mayonnaise curdles in the chili.
Adds a little bit of tang, a little bit
of fat.
>> I I like bit the spaghetti, then I put
it back in there. I'm so sorry.
Do I have it on my
>> It's all up in there.
>> I don't care. We We're so close. We've
been so close in our time here.
>> That's getting on my hand now.
>> Do you like that?
>> The tang is off.
>> I don't know. It It It is offputting,
but it also tastes good.
>> The tank's offused. If
>> you didn't know that this was Miracle
Whip, if you didn't know this was
Miracle Whip.
>> Okay. Okay. I don't
>> You would have no idea to know. You
would just think this is like
>> Tangy Skinny. Hold on. I don't know.
It's Miracle Whip. I don't know. It's
Miracle Whip.
I'm going to give it a six. There's
>> still a tang and an egg to it. I'll say
that.
>> I'm going to give it a six seven.
>> I'll give it a solid 6.7 as well.
>> Where's your I'll give it a solid.
>> I'll give 67.
>> No. Seven.
>> Okay. Where's your
>> All right, guys. We got one more. Josh's
macaroni salad.
So what we got is we got spaghetti,
miracle whip, a little bit of cider
vinegar, a little bit of chopped up
pickles, carrots, and scallion
>> topped with a little bit of takoyaki
sauce and furkake cuz that's how I like
my mac salad. What's up from the
communal? Maybe you should take the
first eat. Did you make it right now?
>> You take the first bite.
>> Cuz your reaction depends on if I want
to eat it or not.
It's
>> so good.
>> I'm not a big macaroni salad girl. And
macaroni salad makes me a little bit
uncomfortable.
>> No, this rips. Tony, you got to get
in this, dude. Tony, jump in. And my
fork. I haven't touched it. I've been
using chopsticks. You found me at a very
Chinese time in my life.
>> I hate that. I like it. And I hate that
I have to support Josh's shenanigans.
>> You put a juicy in it.
>> No, it needs a just a different noodle.
>> If it wasn't spaghetti, I
>> Man, good. You know how many times I've
been to restaurants and I've done that?
I just pour water into food.
>> Oh, see that texture improved so much.
>> I really did. Now it's more slurpable.
>> I'm not eating that
>> Okay, we're good.
>> Wait, wait. What are you guys giving us
out of 10?
>> NO, WE'RE
>> I GIVE IT A 10. 10.
>> I give it a fifth.
>> Give it a 10.
>> I'm I'm not voting.
>> I give it a fifth. I'm not voting.
>> Probably the fifth.
>> 1 2 3 4. Olivia 189261 said, "Flatten
biscuit dough fill with sausage gravy.
Close like an empanada. bake according
to biscuit instructions. I love struggle
meals because I a lot of the times when
I've ever had like a really really long
day at work, what I like to do is um not
be conscious. I like to kind of
disassociate. It's one of my greatest
factors, one of my greatest traits. And
what I like to do is I like to just take
some sort of carb and some sort of
cheese and combine it together. So, it
can be like toast, it could be
quesadilla, it could be rice with a
little bit of um goat cheese mixed in.
So, that's my ideal struggle meal.
Did you guys have these as kids? This is
my favorite. My mom used to buy these
all the time and I was always scared of
opening them cuz they were so volatile.
But when they wouldn't open, I would
just throw them like, "Oh, oh no." It's
like a bomb. It's like one of those
bombs that you throw. You know what I
mean? A grenade. A grenade. You know
what I mean? This is just like a
grenade. Should I deep fry one of these
just for funsies?
>> Yeah. Why are you deviating? Don't
deviate.
>> Make us a snack.
>> Did you guys ever go to Club Deviate?
>> Is that in Hollywood?
>> Yeah. I never went to Club Deviate, but
I would hear the ads all the time to go
to Club DV8.
>> I would hear the ads to go to um Nissan.
>> Universal City. Nissan.
>> Universal City. That's where I got my
Nissan.
>> You still have your Nissan?
>> Yeah.
>> How long has it been?
>> 10 years, man.
>> You've had the same car for 10 years.
>> Love a love a love a 10-year-old Nissan.
I'm not a not a car guy. You know what I
mean?
>> Yeah.
>> Hit a poll at Whole Foods the other day.
Don't care.
>> Julie's like, "Get it. You hit a pool."
Yeah. Yeah. I'll show you. I'll show you
in the car.
>> Winnie, you want to come? You want to
come see it?
>> I hope I'm doing this right.
>> I really don't know.
>> I'm here to support you.
>> Thanks, V. And I will open any can for
you anytime. That's very kind. You're a
very kind woman. You're a kind soul.
>> Whacked it a little bit. First time I've
ever really like hid anything in my car.
I don't know what to do now. I shove it
back in.
>> Mhm.
Maybe you sort of can.
>> V, are you a sausage gravy girl or are
you a uh
>> I love sausage.
>> Yeah. And gravy. That's what you asked
me, right?
>> I wasn't going like fast, but I was like
I didn't line it up. I was turning into
a
this spot. You know what happened is I
>> I like more traditional gravies. Like I
love like a like a beef gravy. Like that
really dark stuff. You know what I mean?
>> I went the wrong way on a oneway is a
parking lot that I hadn't been in
before.
>> I like country gravy if I'm eating
breakfast.
>> Yeah.
>> But it was a oneway in a parking lot.
>> Oh yeah.
>> You know what I mean? I just didn't see.
But it looked like it was wide enough
and the the spaces weren't angled.
>> I only like regular gravy on like
chicken.
>> Mhm. But I don't like gravy on my mashed
potatoes at all. And so I like tried to
turn into another space
bowl there.
>> I like gravy on my meats. I think I'm in
the same like realm as you.
>> Yeah, cuz I like a wet meat. You know
what I'm saying?
>> Sure. Oh, how was the car?
>> And like if your car is nice enough to
where you have to put your own cones
around it when it's parked.
>> Who does that, man? Saw saw Well,
yesterday I went to the South Beverly
Grill.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> See Jakey?
>> Mhm.
>> And there's a Rolls-Royce parked out
front and the guy gets out and just puts
his own cones around it.
>> What a dweeb. I'm going to throw this in
the deep fryer for personal reasons.
Okay. Dar she blows.
Okay. And then I'm going to put these in
the oven. Um, we already have seepage,
so whatever. Okay. Bri Briefy OB9 SB
said, "Miracle whip sandwich." Ooh,
we're doing Miracle Whip again.
>> We're back.
>> A sandwich made with Vita cheese,
Miracle Whip, and crushed nacho cheese
Doritos washed down with a Pepsi. My
brother and I used to eat these after
school. Okay, so we have Vvita cheese
slices. Should we do two slices of
cheese?
>> Let's get crazy. Okay, crushed up
Doritos. Should we do a little Irish
step dance on them?
Can you put some Irish step dance music
over it?
>> Thank you. I'm going to double miracle
whip this.
Okay. Who wants to try the empanada?
Anybody?
>> Uh, yeah.
>> Do you guys think it's cooked?
>> No, I don't think that that dough is
going to be raw.
>> It looks good, though. Oh, no. It's
fully cooked. Shun the non-believers.
V. Would you like the corner or the
middle?
>> I would like the middle.
>> The middle's all for you, honey.
>> It has a hole on both sides. That's why
I want it.
>> Yeah. Next. A1 tuna macaroni. A1. Um, I
hate A1 sauce. Um, Nicole's bookish
Nook. Huh? A1 sauce, macaroni, pasta,
and canned tuna mixed up.
>> Oh, okay.
>> Okay, that sounds that sounds Let me
tell you,
>> this is coarse right now. If you like
intense flavors, that makes sense to me.
But if you're like, like I can't handle
that intensity, it's probably not going
to be good. I hate this stuff with a
burning pageant, which is weird cuz I
don't hate a lot of foods.
>> He looks like a cat.
Guys, we're all cat people now.
>> Yeah, that's a crazy turn that happened.
I never wanted to be a cat person, but
the universe bestowed two beautiful
kitties on me, and I had no choice but
to cat parent. And I'm so glad I did.
Except my cat Harvey is an Look
what he did. Look what she did to me.
She scratched me. Do you see this here?
Do you see this?
>> Do you see?
>> What?
>> Do you see what Harvey did to me?
>> Harvey effed me up.
>> Get mine. I got cat scratch, too.
>> Cat scratch favor.
Damn.
>> Do you see that?
>> V, you want to show yours?
>> Yeah.
>> I ripped my m off.
>> Wait, I got to take my shirt off.
>> V. Ow. What the hell?
>> Do you see him? This is the last one.
I'm really excited about this one
because it requires actual cooking on a
stove, which I'm excited about.
>> Can I get a Red Bull?
>> Gideon Waricki says, "Struggle meal.
Ground beef crushed up nacho cheese
Doritos. Two slices of American cheese
plopped on top. A big squirt of Asian
sweet chili sauce mix well. Enjoy. All
right, let's get this body. Get this. I
need to stop singing. I really have to
stop. Do you think I should cook the
ground beef with any sort of oil or
should I let the oil from the ground
beef do the cooking? You know what?
Asking too many questions. I'm going to
do whatever I want. Okay, my beef is a
perfect shade of like brownish gray,
which is exactly what I'm looking for. I
don't want any my yard. I just want like
a light steam.
>> This is basically Matthew Lillard's
mom's taco salad dressing.
>> Yes, it is very taco salad reminiscent
>> except with sweet chili sauce instead of
thousand island.
>> I thought it was Catalina.
>> Catalina. Do those dressings like exist?
Like French dressing, Catalina dressing.
Are these like real like would a chef
Would a chef at any point like know what
those dressings are or are they just
things that were like made up by like
>> wishbone
>> craft corporation or whoever? Yeah. H I
actually don't really know
>> cuz like Thousand Island is like a real
recipe, right? Caesar dressing, real
recipe. Ranch dressing, real recipe.
>> Is there a place called the Thousand
Islands?
>> Yeah. You know who's from there? Farley
Elliot. Man, that is so good. I love
this. That's crazy. What's going on
there?
>> It's like a This is just some beef bowl.
>> What is with you? And I I'm a heavy
saucer.
>> You have a saucer
>> today. I'm a heavy saucer. She's
left-handed. So, here is my beautiful
array. Here's my array of foods.
What a doozy that was. Now, let's try
some of our struggle meals over here.
>> Incredible transition.
>> Thank you so much. This is your little
pocket of love. Here's your other pocket
of love. I'll take
>> I sucked all the gravy out.
>> I'll take the most well done one because
I love you guys. Cheers.
>> M I kind of prefer the baked one to the
fried one almost.
>> Oh, you gave us a fried one earlier.
>> Yeah, that was
>> I thought that was this.
>> No, no, no.
>> I'm very I'm very inspired by these.
>> Mhm. What I want to do is I want to make
so bashimal, right? That's what we're
talking about here with the gravy.
>> This is just a country sausage.
Bashimal. I want to make I want to make
>> American crocettas.
>> I want to make black pepper country
sausage crocettas.
>> You should.
>> Who's with me?
>> I agree.
>> I'm with you, Josh.
>> Who's with me?
>> I'm with you.
>> We can leave. We can leave the YouTube
and we can go to Labokeria
>> in Barcelona and we can open up like an
American crocetta stand where we're
taking all of our favorite American
delicacies and we're making them into
croettas.
>> You going to pay my rent?
>> Are you going to pay our rent?
>> The Spanish this the social the social
safety net in Spain's going to do that.
>> You want to go to Spain?
>> Oh, hell yeah.
>> Okay.
>> What? 3 months with um Joseé Andreas. I
like him.
>> That's a strong seven. You think a
seven?
>> 7.5.
>> This doesn't work for me. A four.
>> But it compliment. Yeah. What?
>> Wait a second. You gave that whole ass.
You don't like it, but it inspired you
to go to Barcelona and open a spot.
>> Come on. Give it like three more points
than you think. Come on.
>> I'll bump it up to a seven for the
inspiration.
>> All right. There we go. Okay. Thank you
so much. Okay. Next, we have A1 sauce,
tuna, and macaroni.
Oh, Nicole. I'm not confident in this
one.
>> I hate this. I'm not going to lie.
I need a fast cap.
>> There had to be something better than A1
in your I
>> had to be something better than A1.
>> Someone give me fast.
>> It tastes like a cat made it.
>> I got to try it again.
>> Yeah, that's A1's supposed to be with
meat. The tang,
>> but not tuna meat.
>> The tang. It's too strong. Disgusting.
>> There's something about the way the tuna
and the warm A1 combined.
>> I'm going to be sick. I want to be in my
back. It tastes like It tastes like if
you grab pennies out of a dumpster.
>> It tastes like if you got a wet dumpster
penny and you put it in your mouth.
>> I think this is my bad. I clearly put
way too much A1. I did not even care
about the proportions. I did not give
this a strong good effort. So, for that,
I will give it a four because I believe
I made a mistake.
>> It's okay.
>> I think it's my fault.
>> It could be that. It could be a combo of
flavors and it's okay.
>> Sometimes things don't work out when you
think they go.
>> I've been an A1 hater and now it's
confirmed I will always be an A1 hater.
>> I give this a solid five. It's
nourishing. I could still eat a bowl,
but it is it is not the best
combination.
>> My lord, three, I mean two, my lord.
>> There you go.
>> Shout out Shrek.
>> You guys remember this? This is Miracle
Velvet and
>> um Yeah. And followed by a nice swipe of
Pepsi.
>> Oh yeah. I got to get Pepsi, right?
>> M. You know, this tastes like pimento
cheese.
>> It does. Oh my god.
>> Mhm.
>> It is exactly This is just deconstructed
pimento cheese.
>> Good.
>> I thought you would like this.
>> This tastes just like pimento cheese.
I'm going to give this an 8.5.
>> If you blended all this together, it' be
pmentoto cheese.
>> Well done. Well done. This is a great
>> a long time.
>> The Pepsi back.
>> M seven.
>> Guys, I love Miracle Whip so much.
>> Yeah, you're just
>> I've been Miracle Whip
>> in the culture of it.
>> I'm I'm going eight and a half. You say
I'm in the culture. Yeah. It's my
ancestral food. Yeah.
>> Okay. And finally, we have
>> meat salad.
>> Exactly.
With some sort of Asian chili sauce. So,
it's ground beef, crushed up Doritos,
two slices of American cheese, and some
Asian sweet chili sauce on the top. They
called it Asian sweet chili sauce.
>> We got rocking maploy,
>> I believe. So,
I kind of like it.
>> Listen, I eat a lot of dog bowls. This
is called boy slop and this is a valid
thing to eat.
>> I like it. I give it a solid
6 and a half. I'm going to give it just
a six. I'm not too I'm not too
impassioned by this.
>> Mhm.
>> Doesn't inspire me.
>> Is this the best use of the ingredients
in the end? You know what I mean?
>> Salad.
>> That's the essence of a struggle.
>> You could have made a
>> Are you using You could have
>> You could have used ketchup instead of
sweet chili sauce and I think that is
more successful of a dish.
>> Mhm. You know, you could have used
instead of like say a cheesy Dorito, you
know, you take the sweet chili sauce,
sour cream, you take any other neutral
chip or even a rich cracker.
>> Mhm.
>> You know what I mean? You put that on.
>> You're right.
>> I don't know. This is the best use of
all the ingredients.
>> Yeah.
>> You know what I mean?
>> That's a great point.
>> And for that, I only give it a five.
>> I like the Doritos that smell like beef,
though.
>> All right. I have some fun goodies in my
hand, as you can see. The first one is
everything bagel and bold bulldock. Did
I say that right, Josh?
>> Yeah, like close enough.
>> Do you also have Miracle Whip on your
stuff today? Apparently, I do. We're
just Miracle Whip sisters. Just we're
just like we're coffee.
>> This is This is the most we've
interacted with Miracle Whip ever on the
show.
>> I'm going to boil some eggs. What are
you doing over there, V? I'm uh I have
water. All right, we're going to make
some eggs. Some everything bagel eggs.
What you doing over there, V? I'm going
to make eggs. I don't really be caring
about the water boiling. So, I'm going
to just stick in THE EGG IN THERE.
>> CUZ guess what? We're struggling and we
don't have time to wait for eggs anyway.
Yeah. V.
>> So, we're going to be lazy today.
>> What happened to my favorite ketchup?
>> I've never seen this before. Yeah.
That's bulldog sauce. It's really spicy.
Literally, I would shake it. I would
shake it. Oh, really? Yeah. Some of the
>> They were the first to make like a fancy
ketchup that was actually like worth it.
>> The
curious shock me the texture.
Oo, it literally tastes like ramen.
>> They had that at
>> Be careful.
>> They were giving that out at Coachella
last year.
>> Oh, sha balls.
>> Shake it. Shake it. Shake it. I did. I
shake it like a sh.
>> Can I open a chip? Can I put it on a
chip?
>> I got it. Oh, sure.
>> Temple mushrooms. Kids, when kids were
saying shiakei, like they'd be like,
"Holy mushrooms."
>> I didn't know what a shiakei mushroom
was. And I thought they were saying,
"Holy talking mushrooms."
>> So, I'd go like, "Holy talking
mushrooms." All right, guys.
>> Oh god.
>> Like, what? I didn't understand. I
>> do. You need milk?
>> No, I don't like milk. I'll
everywhere. We're going to make our
s'more soup. This one says, "When I was
a kid, I would microwave marshmallows,
squeeze chocolate syrup, sprinkle
crushed graham crackers on top, and mix
it together to make a s'mores soup."
That sounds innovative.
Um, and it just sounds like they know
what they're doing. You know what I
mean? When you're a kid, you kind of
just stick everything in the microwave
to see if it works. And as an adult, you
just stick to eggs in the microwave.
Right, Tony?
>> It's one minute egg.
>> Exactly. Josh, chef, question. How long
should I microwave marshmallows? 30
seconds.
>> They're gonna go pretty quick.
>> 30 seconds.
>> 30 seconds.
>> You watch that. Do your job.
>> I got you. Welcome.
>> I'm closer to the microwave.
>> You watch that. Do your job.
>> The less the marshmallows are getting
watched.
>> People need to be smarter. Instead of
putting this in a Ziploc baggie to
crush, you just crush it in its bag
already.
>> Look it.
That worked.
What do you think? Are they going to
start deflating?
>> Does that look like soup?
>> I think the chocolate syrup is going to
>> chocolate syrup is going to make the
soup.
>> Let's put our brains together and stuff
together.
>> I made homemade marshmallows. You want
to try?
>> Great.
>> Do you guys want to try my homemade
marshmallows I made?
>> I do. Okay, we're going to squeeze our
chocolate on there.
>> Are they gross?
>> While Nicole gets her marshmallows.
>> Sometimes they have to They ask us to
make roast. Which What flavor is that
one?
>> Almond and vanilla.
>> Oh, it's it's in one. I thought
>> there's so many things happening right
now.
>> But guess what? I made something happen.
S'mores soup. That looks fire.
>> That's something Josh would eat when he
was like 12.
>> I'll tell you why. We'll wait for it at
the table. I don't like heavier. Okay.
>> I don't like s'mores.
>> Would you like to try a homemade
marshmallow?
>> Really bad.
>> Oh, I like this a lot.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, good.
>> It has almond.
>> I like the texture.
>> Why does it kind of taste like there's
drugs in it?
Next, we're going to make redneck tacos.
What Jovie A1 said, pulled pork plus
colelaw on pancakes, usually without
syrup. Called them redneck tacos where I
grew up. You want Where you grow up at,
girl? I don't I would get a griddle for
pancakes cuz that's how I like to make
them. But I think she or he them them
was making it in a pan. I'm going to get
some water cuz I know how to make
pancakes. I have cold water, tap water.
Josh, this is the only water I've ever
seen Josh drink in my life. It's tap
water.
>> This thing specifically.
>> What are you making? Pancakes. I love
pancakes.
>> We're making redneck tacos, though.
>> Oh, and it's just pancakes with pulled
pork and klelaw. Sounds freaking
delicious, man. So, we're just having a
good time while Josh is finally getting
hydrated cuz this is only the second
time this year I've seen him drink
water.
>> Is this supposed to be liquidier? Yeah,
it's pancakes. I know how to make
pancakes. like that.
>> I didn't use the box for measurements.
All right, we're going to butter. I
edited that out. Make it make it sound
like Oh crap, it's underneath. I have a
pancake that I'm going to turn into a
taco. It's very thick and luscious, just
like me. This is supposed to be a taco.
I think this pancake's too thick, but I
think I'm going to enjoy it regardless
of what it is. We got some kleslaw right
here. What kind of kleslaw? Dang, this
is wet. Josh, redneck taco. Hey,
>> that looks really good. Pickle rollups.
You like pickles, Nicole?
>> I love pickles.
>> I know you.
>> I eat pickles every day. When I was
younger, I would take deli ham. That's
this was in a shape of a rectangle.
>> I miracle whip. We're going to put
mustard on it. And then we're going to
crumble up some barbecue chips. The one
that Josh were eating. We're going to
spread the white stuff on the pig skin.
>> You're all the way here.
>> I'm on the pig meat. Oh, I was like, and
we're going to put some mustard on it.
We're just going to do a nice
All right, Josh. This is what you eat
every day. I always see you with snacks
and you just have rolls of meat in your
hand.
>> Yeah. Well, I'll tell you what. So, my
struggle meal, I would take this whole
thing and I would put it in my fist and
then I would eat it like an apple.
>> Yeah, I was getting there. And then
we're going to put the pickle here.
Maybe we put two pickles. Maybe we make
sushi. It's wet though.
>> We're going to put the
>> the sauce on it now.
>> Oh my god, that's too much. Oh my god.
Oh my god. Please, please stop. Stop.
Stop. That's way too much. You're going
to kill me.
>> Then we're going to put the everything
the more sauce.
More. So, here's our everything bagel
eggs over here. Those look sexy. There's
a lot of white and brown colors. And now
we're ready to eat. Okay, V, take us
take us home, baby.
>> I will. This is a pickle in ham. It has
Miracle Whip in it. Oh. Oh. All right.
They might be twins.
>> 10. 10.
10, dude.
>> Yeah.
>> Actually, wait. This slaps.
>> 9.7 because I don't like the pickle.
>> You don't like Famous Days. Sweet and
spicy.
>> I do, but not in this uh application.
>> I feel that.
>> I like this. This is a nine. And that's
coming from somebody who hates pickles.
Okay. This is supposed to be soup.
Somebody bring some more chocolate syrup
for us, please. But it's uh you got to
do this.
>> I feel like we should get some more
graham crackers here, Tony. Graham
crackers.
>> I thought you didn't like graham
crackers. No, you don't like s'mores.
Period.
>> I don't Well, I'll tell you why. I don't
like s'mores
>> soup.
>> Because I don't think they eat very
well. I love the flavor combination of
all these, but I think the problem is is
the they is that the chocolate is never
melted enough and then you get too
sticky around the campfire.
So, I think if you can mash it all into
a soup, which I love,
>> around the campfire and sing a campfire
song.
>> Yeah. Is
>> that nice?
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> You know, dip a cracker in there.
>> Yeah. Hold on. We got to find a whole
one though.
>> Wait, that's probably the better move.
>> S'mores dip. Yeah.
>> This is how you improvise.
>> I think we should all have to clean the
table afterwards,
>> you know? We didn't need to do all this.
>> That's good. We didn't need to do all
this.
>> That's a 10 right there. Mhm. That was
good soup.
>> That's a 10.
>> Tati and Blaine shouldn't be responsible
for this. We We should We got to do
this.
>> Keep my answer in. At least nine and a
half.
>> I give an eight. If this is real
chocolate, it bumps up to a 10. This is
a great idea, but I think it needs real
chocolate, not syrup.
>> My stomach's doing like
This is about to This is about to make
it do a backflip and then a somersault.
>> What is this?
>> Oh, it's an egg.
>> It's an egg.
>> What's the What's the white mound? It's
cream cheese
>> and then has everything sauce on it.
With more sauce on it.
>> Oh Nicole, you're going to be
pissed.
>> I know. I told you not to put that much.
Huh?
>> Oh my god. It's so
>> It's too spicy.
>> I like it. Eight. Five. Sinko.
>> I think the double creaminess of the
yolk and cream cheese is very
unnecessary in this aspect. this for
some reason weird the craziest
combination of chemicals that and I'm
not I'm not the chemical I'm not the
like oh you can't I can't pronounce
words on the label I shouldn't eat it
what is lacto caucus powder inactive I
give this like a four I give this a four
I love a hard-boiled egg
>> I don't know what I
>> Dr. I don't think I don't know if the
cream cheese is helping it. That hot
sauce is dastardly, man. We got to go
back to Sriracha. Sriracha.
>> Can't wait to be dastarded a little more
with this taco. This is a pancake. Taco
aka redneck
>> taco de pancake.
>> See? Oh, I like this klelaw. It's very
finely shredded. It has pulled pork and
then some nice creamy kaza. So, let's
see how this goes.
Perfect. Oh, perfect.
Perfect.
>> Define perfect.
>> I love it. This is a bow.
>> No notes, baby. I don't like that my
pancake is soft. I want it to be crunchy
when I eat a pulled pork taco.
>> This ain't a redneck taco. This is
redneck bow.
>> I'll give it a solid six.
>> 10.
>> I was a doubter at first. This is an
eight and a half.
>> Guys, I had so much fun. I've never done
this before. I love doing struggle meals
with you guys. What a free form weird
episode.
>> Come on. Kita Deana.
>> We're out here just having fun talking.
>> I'm so a friend. What did you say?
>> These are spaghettis.
>> Your your pasta salad was a little up.
>> But you know what?
>> I'm so blessed and honored to be sitting
in the middle of this table with my two
closest friends and I'm so glad.
