EB 457: Link’s Worst Photo Ever

Welcome to Ear Biscuits, the podcast where two lifelong friends talk about life for a long time. I’m Link. And I’m Jenna! And then you say this week. This week at the round table of dim lighting. Uh, clearly Rhett is not here. So it’s two. His loss. It’s two seven year long friends. That’s right. Talking. Seven years is a long time for a good friendship. Not life long, but we’ll work on that. Yeah, we’re getting there. Maybe from here on out, I think we can do it. Yeah, I think so. Rhett called in sick this morning, um, but what’s the true story, you know? Is he finally hanging it up? I mean, he said he had a little bit of a cold. I mean, what? He said his back hurt a little bit. Hey, he actually was saying his, yesterday he was saying his back hurt a lot. Yeah, yeah, it did. Like, I actually started feeling for him, uh, and you know, I rarely do something like that. Feel for the guy. Feel things. For the guy, for him. You can tough it up, he’ll be fine. I mean I can tell, I mean he thought he had a kidney stone. Yeah. But then I think he concluded that it was just some sort of new muscle spasm thing in his back. Yeah, it was a new pain, but now it’s like, is it related to him being sick? Like maybe it was a, it was a pre sickness ache that was happening? Well, we’re, we’re both pretty worn down. Yeah. Right now, honestly. You had a busy weekend. And, yeah, I went, you know, we got back from Sundance this past weekend. So, I can tell you about that. And, um. Yeah, sometimes you go on these trips, you didn’t go on this one, so I can tell you about it too. But yeah, I mean, I thought Rhett was just calling because I was gonna text him this morning, and when I looked to text him about his back, he said, that’s when I saw that he was not gonna be here. So, because this was a quick turnaround, we want to, you know, bring you into the chair. Thanks for, thanks for being here and hanging out with me. Yeah, happy to. Quite an improvement. I had to skip out on, oh thank you, don’t tell Rhett, we won’t let him listen to this. Oh no, I’ll tell him. I had to skip the, one of the scouts today. Oh, that’s right. Yeah, mm hmm. That’s okay, the guys can, the guys can do it without me. Location scouting is one of my favorite things, and because we’ve, we have so much that, we’re doing we got to divide and conquer so like we trust you guys to go out and do the scouting and like come back and you got some pictures and you tell us but like Ben directing, TJ producing, you doing your producing thing, we got Morgan Morgan on the Wonderhole team now, so, uh, uh, I guess he’s out there too, right? He is, yes. Um, let’s give them a little hint. You know, a Wonderhole Season 2 location hint. Like, we gotta keep it I don’t know which one you’re scouting today, but like. They’re scouting two. Make it nebulous. They’re scouting two, but it’s for the same episode. Uh huh. So one of the episodes is multiple locations. So this is a, and this is the. That’s a hint, maybe? I don’t know. This is a, there’s a, for an outdoor shot. One is an outdoor shot, yeah. Like, like a, this is a, like a huge establishing shot, is that? Yes, oh yes. Yeah. That one, yes. That is a, the Bakersfield trip. The Bakersfield trip is a huge establishing shot. Uhhuh, okay. And the other. Of a special structure. Yes. Let’s just leave it at that. Uhhuh. I actually think I might have built it up too much. I don’t know. We’ll see. We’re, I mean, we’re really excited about Wonderhole. Mm-hmm. Um, I, yeah, I’m, I’m, I’m jealous. I’m sorry, I’m keeping you from the scout, because like I said, scouts are fun because you, you start to, when you get in a space and it works, you just start to come up with ideas and, you know, it starts to shape what we’ve already planned. We’re doing a lot more planning with Season 2 than we did with Season 1, so we like, got a lot more ahead of it, and um, which is good because it’s a lot more ambitious, the um. Definitely. The adventures that we’re going to go on are, um, more thoughtfully, even more thoughtfully structured than season one. I’ll say that. So, the locations that, uh, actually turn out to be a big part of it. Yeah. So, um, I’ll leave it at that, but we’re very excited. We’re, you know, this, it, we’re still eyeing the same release as last year. So what was that? September, August, September. August, September. Yeah, like late August, early September. For those six episodes. So, still on the Rhett and Link channel. Um, but yeah. Rhett’s not here, I’m sure, he’s okay. He’s okay. Yeah, he just needs rest. Don’t worry. Yeah, he needs rest. Don’t worry. They’re not breaking up. The band isn’t breaking up. Everyone thinks that, always. I mean, I’m so friggin tempted to I was tempted to call in sick, too, and I’m not sick. I might have sneezed a few times, but well, I mean, here we are. It’s February. Thank God! We’re done with January 2025. January was six weeks this year to me. It was so bad. So long. So bad. I mean, the catastrophic fires. Yeah. Uh, extremely traumatic. And then, I mean, I know that this past weekend you had to go home for like an extremely heart wrenching funeral. I did, yeah. You know, you don’t have to talk about the specifics, but I just want to acknowledge that like uh, heart wrenching, heart wrenching, yeah. He’s, um, he’s 25 years old. And, um, passed in his sleep. Um, and he’s a very close family friend. Um, he’s epileptic. I am so sorry. And just, I mean, the whole family and, like, my whole family were all just devastated. It’s, he was, he was a shining light. He was a sweet, sweet human. So, yeah, that was a devastating weekend for me, but you had a better weekend. Well, I wanna, the flower, the flower thing was that little, a little silver lining about that you told me. That’s true. So, I’d love, I’d love for you to share that. There was a really beautiful, um, so, we had the service. It’s back in Knoxville, um, and as it happens with someone so young who passes so unexpectedly, obviously the turnout was, uh, overwhelming. The amount of people, like, uh, like, the church was filled to the brim, the, um, even their sanctuary below was fully filled, and they had a TV, like, it was close circuit funeral. Yeah. It was, it was really beautiful. But one thing that was really interesting, um, the amount of flowers was unreal. But something cool that Knoxville has, and I’m not sure if it’s other cities, but they have this, uh, volunteer group called Random Acts of Flowers. And at the end of the service, because the family couldn’t take all those flowers home, like, it was five van loads of flowers. Just an unheard of amount. And I bet they were the big ones, too. Yeah, yeah. Lots of orange, as well. He’s a big Tennessee fan, so there’s lots of orange flowers. It was really beautiful. Um, but, so, my aunt and I were kind of in charge of helping Random Acts of Flowers so that, uh, his mother and father and sister could grieve and not think about it. So random acts of flowers come and they pick up all the flowers from the service and then that week they take all those flowers, redo them into other bouquets and then donate them to people in need like children’s hospital, um, uh, people on dialysis, uh, uh, nursing homes where people don’t have any family left. They donate all those flowers to these people and the woman who picked it all up for us and we helped load everything, um, into her truck and van and everything. She said that, uh, at least a hundred bouquets are going to be created from what we gave them. That’s awesome. So, that’s something I’ve been thinking about this week after. Yeah. The really sad weekend is knowing that all of those flowers this week are being delivered to all those people in need, and they’re all in Miller’s name in honor of Miller Sullivan, um, donated flowers by Miller Sullivan and his family. So like, that’s awesome. It’s so pretty and I was like, that’s a good kind of like, yeah, it’s it’s like a, you know, spread some love forward. And yeah, he would have wanted that love spread forward. He was always pouring out of his cup. So I know that’s what he wanted. Shout out to, uh, random Zach. Random acts of flowers. Yeah. Yeah. Cool. Thank y’all for your work. I hope there’s more like it I don’t know if it’s nationwide. I need, I need to look it up, but it was beautiful. Yeah, very cool. So uh, we went to Sundance and um yeah, I was trying to think if there’s something I was going to say before the sundance because you were about to ask me something Just about how crappy january was. Oh, we can we we can we can just move on from it. But like we know let’s just The new year started on Chinese New Year, I think. There we go. The Chinese Lunar New Year is now my new year, because everything before that can just [bleep]. Ha! Yeah. That’s what I feel. That is my now new year. I hope anyone who celebrates Chinese Lunar New Year will accept me. Happy New Year. Happy Chinese New Year. May you be prosperous and healthy all year. It’s the year of the snake. Just need a reset. Oh god. I mean, this weekend, not having anything planned is like, oh my god, thank you so much. Cause it’s like, and then I accidentally made plans and then had to cancel them. Cause I’m, I instinctively make plans every weekend. Yeah. Yeah. And if friends hit me up, I’m like, yes. And then I’m like, hold on. I am completely depleted. Like. Yeah. And, um, you know, just starting. You know what? My time in therapy last night, just starting to process some things is such a, that’s, it’s so important to have, for me to have that space because I hadn’t been able to go since the top of the year. So going back and talking about my fire experience there was really helpful, but also helped me just put in perspective everything that’s happened this year so that, um, I can acknowledge, okay, I am. Depleted, you know, and, uh, Christie’s depleted and we’re trying to be there for each other, but we, you know, when you don’t have anything in your tank, it’s like, you know, you just try to just to just to have a little more tenderness, right? Yeah. And when, when you can acknowledge it. And understand it and take that time, you know, and I, I went into therapy not knowing like I had the things that I thought I was going to talk about, but then, you know, he knows me well enough to kind of dig a little bit and go back and it’s like, but yeah, you did all of this stuff just happened. And I’m like, I’m just ignoring that that happened and I’m moving forward. I have to focus on the things that I have to do. Yeah. And then by the end of the session, I appreciated that. Um, that’s not, you know, that’s not the healthiest way to approach this. And then to wake up to Rhett saying, I’m taking a sick day, which I don’t, historically, I don’t know that he’s ever done that. He doesn’t take sick days. It’s a combination of what January has been and also, I think, just having a little, just gaining a little wisdom on when we gotta, you know, wave the flag. Or sound the alarm and say, Hey, this is, this is a bit much, you know, so, um, I’m taking this weekend as like downtime as much as possible, which doesn’t mean that I’m not going to go record shopping. It means that I, it actually means that I need to go record shopping. I did, I did get some records when I was in Knoxville. Oh, you did? I did. Yeah. I’m rubbing off on you. Well, I went to McKay’s Books because they have used, uh, books and records and things and I always dabble and, and go through like the dollar bin and find fun things, so. So we’re we’re celebrating February. We’re not ignoring that January happened, right? It did happen. It definitely happened, but it’s a fresh, we’re coming at it with fresh. I like what you said about tenderness for the weekend’s like giving yourself some gentle, tender, like kindness try a little tenderness, we should all do that for ourselves, yep. For other people. So going to Sundance, I’m going to say this past weekend as the recording, it’s two weekends ago as you’re listening, if you’re listening in a current environment. Um, you know, we didn’t really, want to go to Sundance, uh, with the vibes. But, you know, there was an opportunity to participate in, um, in a, in a fundraiser in the livestream, um, uh, I’m trying to remember the URL. L A wildfire relief dot live was the, was the fundraiser. Raised over a million and a half dollars everyone who yeah participated and you know, we had a few people Who were at Sundance kind of come through and if you watch the stream, thanks for that. Thanks if you donated so it was nice to do that the the original purpose of going which that was added on to was we were guests of YouTube to be on a panel and then to, uh, be in a few conversations that YouTube was having. Also, Sean Evans from Hot Ones was there, and we’ve, um, we’ve taken our relationship to a new level, having invested in Hot Ones alongside Sean and, uh, co creator of the show, Chris, who, um, uh, moved from just being, uh, employees to being Owners and having a ownership stake in that. So like we championed that as part of the, and wanted to be part of that deal. So they were there. So like we were, we were on some podcasts and talking about that story a little bit, YouTube wants to tell the story of elevated content on the platform for people, especially in the industry and in like the creative setting of the Sundance film festival, um, making a. Taking the stance that hey, there’s you know, there’s a lot of there’s a kindred spirit between the indie filmmaking bent and uh of of sundance, yeah, and you know that like, um, Smaller time creator or filmmaker and the commonality there and how you can really create an elevated film that will move people that can can go huge that is somebody’s artistic expression and hey when it comes to wonder hole and the stuff that we’re trying to do you know we see ourselves as. Artists as well as comedians, and we want to see YouTube as the place where that can work and thrive. And when it’s algorithmically driven, that is a challenge, but at the same time, we can find a way to make it work and use our independence to our advantage. So that’s the kind of stories that we go to a place like Sundance, uh, with YouTube. And it looks like we’re going to go to South By in Austin. In a few months to do the same thing whenever it is whenever South by is we’re gonna be there for like one weekend, but, um, so it was an it was a worthy cause to be there, especially with the fundraiser attached, so I’m glad that we went, but. It wasn’t easy. It was quite a quite a whirlwind. Yeah, and I’m filming on the other on both sides of it here at the office, too So y’all didn’t really have downtime. Yeah. Yeah and um, we’ve been to sundance a few times over the years and it’s you know we kind of know to expect that we’re probably not going to see any films because we’re just there to do the stuff we’re there to do so we didn’t get to see any films but we did get to you know, we went to a couple of the parties for a little bit, when I start leaving a party early, that, thet, that tells me something. Really? You left early. I left the second night early. I guess I left both nights early. But, not before, um, I joined in the conversation that Rhett was having with Jon Hamm. Got to meet Mr. Jon Hamm. Uh, iconic. Uh, he acted, you know, he’s friendly, but friendly in a Jon Hamm doesn’t know me and he’s probably talking to a lot of people kind of vibe. Yeah. I thought it was cold, but then Rhett was like, you don’t call Jon Hamm cold, he’s just Jon Hamm. And I’m like, okay, I’ll take that. He was nice enough. Uh huh. Met the director Boots Riley. From, um, uh, like, he, the, the, the book of Clarence, um, uh, Sorry to Bother You. Mm hmm. Yeah. Um, Excellent. He he’s he’s he’s wildly creative dude. So it was like it was cool to meet him we when we’re talking to him the, the star of Wicked that’s not Ariana Grande. Cynthia Erivo! Yeah sorry, Cynthia. She came up to meet him and then as she was talking to him and we were also talking to him actually taking a photo with him then she was like it was kind of like a turn and okay. Well, I’m gonna meet you guys, too and I just um I have not seen wicked. It’s not my thing, I don’t think I’m gonna see it. Three times. Okay, Jenna. In theaters. Calm down. Okay, fine. She I, I didn’t know I wish I was there! I didn’t know how to interact with her. She’s the type of person that I’m like, okay, I mean I’m gonna shake her hand with a lot of tenderness. I do know that. She’s so close to an EGOT. Oh, she is? She’s so close to an EGOT. I’m upset. I love, she’s so good. Okay, I’m sorry, go, yes. She’s, I mean, she’s a different type of person too. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I don’t know anything about her except that like, I was like, who is, this is the Wicked person. Huge, huge Broadway star. Absolutely, like. A huge Broadway star. Um, so people in that world obsessed. Yeah. Yeah. She’s, she was like super, she was much shorter than you all too. She’s yeah. Hair was shorter too. Yes. And, but her fingers were longer. Yeah. Well, she’s got those lovely nails. She’s got fingers that rival Stevie’s fingers. You know, I talk about how long Stevie’s fingers are all the time. She’s got some long fingers. Uh huh. Let’s see, I think that was Did Stevie get to meet her? Cause Stevie was in No, she wasn’t there. Stevie and Ben were with us, but they weren’t at this particular thing. Stevie would have liked that. Anyway. Yeah, we didn’t, um, yeah, we weren’t, we weren’t together at that point. So those are the, those are the main people that we met. And then, um, yeah, I left the party. The party, I mean, it’s just, you know, mix and mingle thing. Not much to say there, except, uh, that I left early. But not that early, because the morning came quick. We had to get up. We were supposed to do a, um, a video. We did just do a number of videos, like inter different types of interviews. You show up, you do the thing. It’s like It was a packed schedule. I’m just, I’ve built up everything to tell this story, okay? That’s like Alright, things haven’t been easy for me, and I think that has an effect on how you look, okay? So, we were flying back home, and we were at the airport, and I get a text from Lily. Now, Lily had called me a few days earlier, and I wasn’t able to get to it, and in the back of my mind, I’m like, I’m such a bad dad, I haven’t called my own daughter back. I thought it usually worked the opposite way when your kids go off to college. My kid won’t call me back. It’s like, I’m the one playing hard to get. She’s been a, sometimes you just feel like you can’t talk to anybody else. Yeah. Even if it’s somebody that you love almost more than anybody else in the world. Yeah. Like you just don’t have it in you. – And that’s not the, – Just depleted! Yeah, and that’s not the normal for you. You usually. No. Yeah, you’ll answer right away whenever they call. Uh, so when she sent this text, this was to the family chat. We got a fam group chat and we’re about to get on the plane and I see this thing and it just says dad they did you dirty and I’m like what so then I like I scroll back up and she’s posted a screenshot of what I believe to be the worst photo of me ever taken and not even professionally even though this photo was taken by presumably a professional. I think this is, and so she said, dad, they did you dirty. And this is a, you know, apparently she was searching like once Getty images, like if you’re an official photographer and like a place like at this interview opportunity at Sundance, uh, the photographer like puts it up and it’s, it’s a Getty. Thing and so that then they get paid if you want to use it. Yeah, I think is how it works You know that Getty watermark makes it seem real official. Yeah, even though the Getty watermark is there when you don’t pay for it so, sorry, I mean you’re gonna be seeing this with the Getty watermark cuz what I’m about to show you we are not paying for this, we are not gonna pay! It’s a terrible photo, and he put it on, and the photographer put it on, I don’t know. Well, I guess that makes things interesting. Here’s what happened. I remember this photo being taken. Yes, I’m gonna show it to you in one second. When I get ready. When I’m ready, I’ll show it to you, I will. Yeah, you take your time. As much as you need. Thank you. So we walk into this room, and there’s, um, bright, it’s just windows everywhere. It’s like a sunroom. It’s just like so bright, and it’s, it’s not early, but it was early for me. This was like, roll out of bed, take a shower, wrestle with my hair, and a subpar blow dryer. I’m still building this up. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. And. Then I’m like get in a shuttle get dropped off. All right. Now you’re gonna do a thing You’re gonna talk about yourself to somebody for I don’t know It could be an hour and a half or it could be 15 seconds who knows how this works and then you’ll you’ll be dumped off the next thing to talk about yourself for an indeterminate amount of time It’s a bit you sound so excited to talk about yourself. I Hadn’t had coffee. So I walk in this room and there’s a spread Of like fruits and then coffee mugs and I see the coffee over and over in the corner. So I go over there, I’m like, thank God. And as I go to that corner, I did clock out of the opposite corner a photographer. Just like posted back there. Uh huh. In this room. Yeah, they like to hide for the candid stuff. I guess, and then the people that were going to do the interview with us, they were like, over there waiting for, I was like, let me, let me grab my coffee. So, I get my cup of coffee, and um, I prepare it. And, I put my hand on my hip, I put my other, put the coffee up in my mouth, I take my first, you know that first sip of coffee, and then you just kind of put it down a little bit, and then you make that, ah, that’s my first little thing of coffee face. And that is when, that punk in the corner took my photo. And, and I just glanced over as he, I was like, is he taking my photo? And so there was the eye contact. Here it is. That’s just, that’s just the worst photo ever. Like Lily said, Dad, you look like a grandpa. You do! You do! Like, and it looks like he caught you in the middle of you just trying to drink your morning coffee. It literally, it looks exactly like how you do not do this to me. My, don’t, like, coffee first, right? But then, just one sip of coffee doesn’t count. I mean, I pretty much need to get through the whole mug before you start taking candids of me. Oh, and, and, sorry, your hair is still a mess. My hair is just I’m so sorry. And, and you know what? And then I walked over and did that interview, I didn’t touch my hair. It continued to look that way. You did, you’re doing something with your lips, it’s like Yeah. It almost looks photoshopped on a different body. Like the hands and like your shape, like you don’t look like that. That’s an AI image of you. Tell, just tell people it’s an AI image of you. Yeah. I look wide, like the way that, that urn is in front of me is like, I look really wide. Yeah, they did, that’s not good. I look, like, what my face is doing, and I’m looking right at the camera. Yeah. Thinking, don’t you do it. Oh no you didn’t. No you didn’t. And so I’m sitting here about to get on the plane just staring at this photo. And the photographer posted that? Yeah. I think it was because of the eye contact. Oh gosh. When they doing it, It’s also expensive to buy it, hey. You know what we need to start doing? I, I need to start traveling with some sort of like, expandable mirror. Okay. That like gets big and, I, we gotta figure that out because like, Yeah, cause in the past, Losing your phone as a mirror, It’s, I don’t know, You really can’t get, It’s not good enough for my hair. Especially when I have that much hair. So, at that moment, When I’m looking at this, About to get on the plane, I’m deciding, This is this hair is out of control. Yeah, I know everything’s wrong with this photo, but that hair is too much That’s that’s something you can control. How did my hair get that? Big and out of control and as you can see The first thing, my first order of business when I got home was get a haircut and I was like, Annalyn, you gotta, we got to go, we got to go harder at this thing. We’ve got to notch it back. The hedges are taking over the yard. Oh good, Anna was able to come over and do it. Yes, yes. She’s fast. More on that later, I think. I think she’s gonna come up with a voicemail, but I just hate it so much. But I think it’s good to keep looking at it. It’s a reminder. It’s not, it doesn’t look like me, but it is me. This is morning me, y’all. This is like, I, this is, yes, I’ve taken a shower and I’ve tried to fix my hair, but I haven’t had my coffee, but I’m still in my own house. You know, this is like safety of my own house. My face is not awake yet. Mm hmm, you know, this is you when you were looking for your car keys the other day Exactly. Yeah, I’m about to leave the house and now I’m going back in I’m getting a little sweaty looking for those keys Yeah I think it’s the worst photo I’ve ever had, and I don’t want to be proven wrong. So, don’t, don’t, don’t take this as an opportunity to start looking for, alright fine, fine, I’ll take, I’ll open up the floodgates. If it’s gonna flood, do it. I think this is the worst photo of me ever taken. Prove me wrong. Send me a non AI generated version of myself. That is the worst photo you think I’ve ever taken. And you know what? Uh, I’m gonna invite you to do the same thing for Rhett. Oh, you’re bringing Rhett into this. He’s not even here! Yeah, he wouldn’t. Yeah, cause at this point he’d be like, Not me! But if you want, alright. You know everyone’s just gonna find photos of him, uh, without a beard. Let’s just do me. Let’s just focus on me. I’ll let Rhett make the decision if he wants to be a part of this. But, um, um, the, if you can, Show me a photo of me worse than this one, uh, you will win. I’m gonna give you a prize of me being angry with you. No, no, no. I don’t have any prize to give. I’ll give you a clipping of my hair next time I cut it. Oh, that’s, that’s, that’s serious. That’s weird. People can do stuff with your hair. You know, watch out. Don’t be, don’t be old grandpa and weird. Is what Lily would be saying now. One more thing about Lily, um, This, I gotta tell you this, this is Um, pretty sweet. Uh, you know, I said that I hadn’t called her back, and even when we were texting, like, I was, yeah, I was texting her. But, um, you know, we got back, I got the haircut, we’re going through, um, we’re, we’re in shooting mode. You know, we’re into this week. This week. Just haven’t had, still haven’t called her back. Last night I’m leaving work. And I’m driving out of the parking lot about to get on the, on the road, get on my way home, and I get a phone call. It’s Lily. So I, I answer it, and I’m like, Hey! I’m so glad that you called. I’ve been, I’ve been wanting to call you back. I’m so sorry that I haven’t called you back. She’s like, It’s totally fine. I was, I was like, I was actually going to call you on the way home. I’m, I’m driving home right now. And she’s like, I know. Uh, I checked your location and I’ve been waiting for you to leave the office so I could call you. Can you believe that? Aww. It made me feel so good, but kind of bad at the same time. You know? Uh, I share my location with the entire family. But it’s like, this is the best absolute use of this I’ve ever experienced. My daughter Unobtrusively tracking down when would be the best time that we could have a conversation, you know? Yeah. So then I talked to her, uh, all the way, well, not home, to actually the therapy. So like, Okay. It was super sweet. It made me feel so good. Yeah, and everything was good with her. Everything was good. She just, Just checking in. Just missed us. Just wanted to check in. She’s doing good. Man, she’s up north at school. She’s, she’s moving towards graduation. You know? Her graduation is this June? Oh my gosh. This June, graduating from college. She’ll be, she’ll most likely be back in the city. Back in L. A., okay. Um, back under our roof, uh, let’s say no. Okay. But, uh, I don’t know, who knows what’s gonna happen. Yeah, I saw, when I saw her last, she was still, uh, she was looking at places around the cities, but it wasn’t official. It’s, I mean, to have a college graduate, that’s gonna be crazy. Um, what did I say we were gonna talk about next? Uh, it’s, uh, voicemails, actually. Oh, voicemails next. Oh, yeah, let’s get, let, yeah, let’s get a voicemail. Uh huh. Hey Rhett and Link, this is Jeremy down in St. Augustine, Florida. I need your help breaking up with my past barber. So, I used to go to a barber for years, and she ended up moving away, so I started going to a new barber a few years ago. Now my old barber is back in town, and I prefer how she cuts my hair way more than my new barber. So I’m just curious, how should I reach out to my newer barber to break up with her to go back to my old barber? Thanks so much guys, appreciate ya. Appreciate you too, Jeremy. Uh, I’m sure you feel even better knowing that it’s me and Jenna answering your question. Yeah. Uh. Well, we have different barbers. Uh, you and Rhett have the same barber. That’s right. So. You call your. Stylist, A barber? No, but I’m using the same . Yeah. I have a, have a hair stylist. No, I have a hairstylist. You have a stylist? Mm-hmm . Um, see th this is, this is where the on line of it all comes back in. Yeah. ’cause for many years she’s been cutting our hair and she would, I mean, I showed her that picture by the way. And she was, she was upset with me. She was like, why have you let it go this long? This is not her fault. This is my fault. You know, it’s been too long, but I just been too long without getting her back over to, to cut the hair. Um, so yeah, that’s all me, not her because I’m extremely attached to Adalyn. Rhett and I both, you know, once she, she’s the one that’s helped us figure out our hair and it’s like, I don’t know. It’s, um Do I have to say that our hair is very important to us? No. It’s pretty obvious, right? So Annalyn is like, so important. I think we met in Buddy System Season 1? Pretty sure. I think that’s it. Yeah. And, did you know her? I didn’t, I knew, I met, we met, we’ve known her longer than, you’ve known, yeah, you’ve known her longer. instead of the seven that we’ve known each other. Yeah, you’ve known her longer because, uh, Laura, uh, my best friend works with Anna Lynn and she was on Buddy System season two, which is how you all found out about me when you were looking for an assistant to come in. Oh, so Annalyn is really the Annalyn and Laura were both in the trailer when you and Rhett were talking about needing a new assistant and potentially needing some extra help. I’d forgotten that part of it. Another reason she’s so important to us. It’s not hair related. Yeah, so then Laura was like, I don’t like it. Like, my best friend, kind of great at it, um, but yeah, uh, so you’ve known Anna longer, but there was a time She always talks about when she first met me, like, how bad my hair dye was. Oh, she hated that hair dye. So it’s like, yeah, she was part of my hair story of like, uh, trying to, trying to come to grips with, alright, you got, we got to let go of this hair. And of course I had the mustache from, no, no, I’m getting confused. There was no mustache yet. Not yet, yeah. Not when the hair dye was happening. Uh, it a little overlap spill into that. Yeah. Little overlap. Okay. She got me outta that though. Yeah, we, we got there so. And, but then she is on lots of other sets, like she’s, she’s a very accomplished hairstylist. Yes, very. Um, on all of the, uh, uh, what’s the guy’s name? The Ryan Murphy stuff for many years. Like she was on Horror Story, some of the Horror Story stuff. American Horror Story. A lot of different stuff. She did a lot of the wigs for Dark Crystal as well. The Netflix series. When that series came out, um, she works a lot with Jason Momoa and his team. So he’s got a new show coming out that they were filming in Hawaii for a while. So she travels a lot. Exactly. So that’s where I’m getting at. Like she She was gone for a bit. She was gone for like six, nine months, and I’m like what, what am I gonna do? It’s like because once you get somebody who knows the intricacies of your hair and like she does this thing where she’ll watch She’s always watched me fix my hair. Mm hmm And then she knows what to do to get what I want without me having to tell her. Yeah, like it’s it’s it’s a It’s a highly developed skill. Yeah, and then be able to to achieve it Um, and I know rep felt the same way because curly hair. I am also a curly hair Individual. So he and I are very much on the same page of, and Annaly knows curly hair, right? Like so. Well, and that took a while for him to get dialed in too. So yeah, Annaly is a, a wizard when it comes to hair. Side note, she awesome. We need, we need to get her in here. Let her, we let, we need to interview her. What if we do a, a, a lie, a haircut, an ear biscuits. She . It’s a haircut and a chat. That could be fun. That could be fun. Okay. She also designed the Damiel wig. Yeah, Damiel was her Way back in the day. Uh huh. Um, but She created and styled your old hair wig that, like For tour. For tour, the hair goes down. Yep. She did that. Um, but when she went away I was like, I had to find somebody else. I’ll say, cause, um, she recommended, uh, someone she knew for Rhett, at least, to help with his curls. I remember that, that she referred someone while she was gone for him. I don’t know if you ever used that person. I ended up going to Daniel Moon at Hair. And super cool salon, great guy, super friendly, awesome team, uh, cool space. I mean, he’s like a It was, it was a bit of a misfit, because he, his main thing is like, he’s famous for his hair color. Like, Kid Cudi’s hair. Lots of people’s hair. Uh, when I was in there one time, Troye Sivan comes through to, for like, to get his hair. Colored for a music video and so we got to reconnect So super cool place super cool guy extremely talented Even but when you’re starting a relationship even with somebody that’s like as accomplished as Daniel It’s like well, yeah I mean there’s you know You got to get to know each other you got to get he’s got to get to know this Hair and when you go in it’s not what you want it to be and just showing a picture is not you know So and that’s actually when I was I when I went through him I was like this is an opportunity to start pushing in a different direction. I got inspired by all of His experiments and I was like, I’ll do a little experiment and that’s when I started pushing the mullet Yeah, so that’s when that happened. Mm hmm, and it was that was that was driven by me, but I wasn’t trying to get him to be Annalyn to me. I was like, let’s do something a little bit different. Yeah. And then, that was a, ended up being about a year. She was gone for a while on shoots. Yeah. Yeah. So, we, we, we worked up a, a friendship. Um, and, so then, whenever she came back, I was faced with this choice that, Jeremy, you, you’re making. You know, it’s like I first of all I had, you know, there was no question in my mind I had to go I had to go back to Ireland. It’s like i’m not gonna i’m not gonna not go back I the mullet didn’t quite work anyway, so let’s uh Yeah, let’s let’s start reverting back and let’s uh, so it wasn’t a hard decision for me but it it still felt a little weird because it’s like now i’ve got this i’ve got this relationship with my new guy and like That’s a good experience So I don’t think I, I may have actually told him. Yeah. My number one’s coming back. And, it’s easy, I think they understand. Yeah. You know, especially when it comes to like, the professional world that we’re in. And like, you know, I’m super spoiled. Like, haven’t I made that obvious? Um, but, for you, in your like, barber environment, You bet he Jeremy’s and he’s been with this guy for or lady or whoever it is for two years in the interim. And now the old barber’s moved back into town. You have to go back if you like it better. I mean, it’s your hair That’s kind of the whole point right Do you just stop making appointments with your most current or do you have a little talk? You know, it’s I think it just depends on how often he went to get his haircuts and like the conversations that they had together because otherwise, uh, just with our industry, I think if stylists like that, they’re, they’re freelance, you can switch back and forth and like they understand that. Yeah, they understand when stuff like that happens. I think the barber would be understanding. Unless it’s like, he goes to see his barber every two weeks. And they formed this big, like, long standing relationship. I think he should go back and do a proper, like, see a. He might not have to get, like, a haircut or anything. But he could certainly go back and be like, Hey, my number one. Moved back in town, so I’m gonna go back to her, but I want you to know, I love your work and I’ll still recommend you to people. But not really, because you’re not as good as my other barber. Yeah, exactly. That’s really why I’m going back. But let’s entertain Maybe an edible arrangement, send him an Oh, okay. An edible arrangement. No, don’t do that, I’m sorry. Um, but we could entertain the possibility of some sort of showdown. Ooh. Like A light showdown would be go back to your, your number one, your haircut, and then show up at your number two, your more recent, and just Right after the cut? Right after the cut. Ooh, ooh, okay. And then say, what do you think? What do you think of this? Uh huh. What do you think of this? You want a, you want a piece of this? Because it can be arranged. And then, see how he or she responds. Uh huh. Barber number two. Uh huh. And then, uh, when you need the next haircut, you bring barber number one to barber number two. They’re in the same spot. And they’re both, maybe they cut one side. And the other person cuts the other side. Yeah. Maybe you go back, maybe, maybe you go back and you, to barber number two, you give them a last shot now that they’ve seen the template. Yeah. In person. And then you take that back to barber number one, right after the cut and you say, What you think about this? You get them both a little angry with the other person. Yeah. So you’re just a matchmaker. Mm. I really want to see some sort of a showdown. And then barber number two goes and solely gets their hair cut with barber number one. Yeah. And then they fall in love and end up opening a barber shop together. Is this a Hallmark movie? Yes. Thank you. This is what happens when he has me on. Yeah. I don’t think Rhett would have taken it in that direction. I think of the romance. Rhett probably wouldn’t have taken it in that direction. Barber love. Barber love. Wow. Okay. Yeah, that’s better. Yeah. Enemies to lovers. It’s a perfect enemies to lovers. There’s, there’s a reason why you’re such a great feeling because you’ve taken this in a heartwarming direction. I love it. Matter of fact, let’s hit that next voicemail and let, let Jenna, let Jenna have her complete moment. Oh, yay. Hi Rhett and Link, this is Christy. I just wanted to say I’ve really enjoyed the episodes over the last few months. Uh, specifically that you’ve involved, uh, Jamie and Jenna in a lot more of the episodes. It’s really great to hear their thoughts on some of this. So that being said, this question is actually for Jenna. Uh, you’ve mentioned reading or books quite a lot, um, over the last couple of episodes, and I was just curious if you had a top five or a top ten recommendation list of your own. Uh, it could be any genre, always looking for new books. So, love to hear your thoughts. Thanks. Love you guys. Yes, Christy, I do have a list. Let me You wrote it down? I wrote it down because Or do you have a running list anyway? I, I already had most of these in my head. I just wanted to make sure if I said, like, the name of the book, I wanted to also make sure I said the author as well, so it was easier to find. So I wanted to Because sometimes I’ll have, like, the book series in my head, and then I’m like, Oh, who wrote that again? Kind of thing. Alright, good. You got it. Names are hard, but yeah. Okay. Before you get into it mm-hmm . I remember I’m supposed to like give a quick shout out to this hoodie. Yeah. Look at that hoodie. We got the clock of trees. Hoodie. Mm-hmm . Um, it comes in gray. It comes in brown. Yeah. Dark brown. Get that brown, uh, check out the back of this thing. The back is so cool. It’s um, let’s see. Of course it’s Belvedere. Can you see it? Yes. It’s Belvedere, the cock trees, but he’s uh, clocked. So it’s king of the beast. Yeah. The clock trees. Yeah. What? Get that at mythical. com. Pretty cool. Let me just open my notebook. Okay, I’ll put my pen out of the way. Uh, where should I begin? What genre do we think? Oh, up to you. Do you have, yeah. Up to you. Up to me? Okay. I picked from a lot of different genres. Um, let’s, there’s about ten, so I’ll try and keep it short. This is for the readers out there. For the readers. Uh, for Romanticy. Uh, cause I know that’s something you’re really interested in knowing about me, Link. Um, uh, for those who, like, do the, uh, who are on doing all the Sarah J Maas and, uh, Fourth Wing stuff. Here’s a series that isn’t as well known that you should totally go to if you liked those. And it’s the Blood and Ash series by, um, Jennifer Armantrout. I think it’s how you say her last name. Blood and Ash does not sound romance y to me. Oh, it’s great. Like, nothing about blood or ash. Yeah. Well. Makes me horny. Read it. You’ll change your mind. Oh. Okay. But it is, but it is sexy. When you say. It’s sexy. Romanticy. Romanticy. Romance novel in fantasy. Yes, correct. Okay, Batboy’s in with such. Uh huh. Okay. I don’t know, there’s no, there’s, well, actually, not a Batboy. There’s like a, a dragon hybrid thing going on. Anyway, you’ll see in the series, to anyone who wants to listen. For people who like fantasy and a little romance but want something dark, this is under Dark fantasy. I think I’ve brought this up before. I’ll say it again. Um, the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop. Really great. Super easy read. Definite trigger warning. So read those for sure. But if you’re okay with that really darkness to it, it is a really lovely series and I think it touches well on those dark topics. You get scared reading it? I don’t get scared. It’s not scary. Okay. It’s disturbing. Disturbing. Okay. Yes. Disturbing. Alright. Cool. Um, for something a little more cozy, uh, fantasy, like, that’s more, like, cozy, witchy, light, definitely, uh, fall vibes, The Witches of Thistle Grove series by Lana Harper. Really lovely, easy read, super cozy. Um. Super cozy, super cozy witches. Yes. If you like the Percy, if you like the Percy Jackson series. Oh, Rick Royden, please go and read The Heroes of Olympus series that he also has. I like it better than the Percy Jackson series. It continues I’m sure Lily’s read that. It continues She’s a big fan. Like, Percy Jackson and his friends continue on in that series. I don’t think it’s necessary to read that series before you read this one. Um, but it mixes Greek gods and Roman gods. So that’s a really fun thing that happens in that series. Okay. We’re out of fantasy, into, uh, educational. Uh, educational. Let’s learn some shit. Okay. Alright. This is, uh, let’s learn some shit. Uh, A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn. Uh, unabridged version. It is a bare To get through but read it. I listen to it on audiobook when I would go on walks or at the gym so that I could listen to it that way, but if you want to know about the beginnings of the US, uh, as we understand it anyway. to where we are now, or, uh, the, I think, uh, People’s History of the United States goes up until 1950s or so, um, and then there’s another book that goes from then on to present day. But this is from the view of what the people were enduring and what the people were going through and how the people felt. So highly recommend, educate yourself on that. That’s really great. Um. Is it textbooky or is it, is it kind of story based or? It should be in every school, I think, but it’ll probably get banned from the prom. Okay. They’re, yep, mm hmm, mm hmm, we’re gonna move, yep. It’s something that they would probably ban in schools, um, because it is about the people. Next is Braiding Sweetgrass. I have been recommending this book to everyone since I read it. It is so good. It’s like indigenous wisdom meets, um, scientific, uh, uh, Exploration and like the, the history and nature of plants and how we as people interact with the, the natural world. Um, it’s brought, it’s by this woman named Robin Wall Kimmerer. I believe she’s a biologist and she is also, um, uh, uh, an, uh, an indigenous, uh, American as well. So the braiding sweetgrass is a reference to, um, Actual sweetgrass. A certain, like they, there’s a certain, Sweetgrass. Group of people that make like baskets and stuff. Yes. And is that? I’m thinking of, there’s a certain, um, group of people Quite a few indigenous cultures Like, down in the south, like in South Carolina Yeah They would like, it was, there’s some, you know, their bowls are in the Smithsonian, you know Yeah It’s like a dying art Is that what that’s referencing? Yes. Yeah, there’s quite a few, uh, indigenous tribes in, um, the continental U. S. that have a history with sweetgrass. And the story behind it is really beautiful. It’s a story about, sweetgrass was given to us by, uh, Like, uh, one of their nature goddesses, uh, their, um, creator goddesses type. Um, and it, uh, sweetgrass really, uh, nurtures and is the beginning of life. And there’s a lot of other really interesting, you, you, how, how we learn with like the three sisters that, uh, Native, uh, Americans have taught us with the three sisters where you plant corn, squash, and beans together. Mm hmm. Because, uh, the squash. Foliage protects the ground, and then the corn grows up from the stalks, and then the beans have the stalks of the corn to grow up, so the three sisters naturally should go together, and that was indigenous peoples using nature to grow up. Like, it’s all about like, how we can use nature to create better things. And how we work with nature to create better things. So, I’ve, I’ve been recommending it to absolutely everyone. I love, I love the book so, so much. Um, yes, yes, Braiding Sweetgrass. I’m trying to pick one from your list. I think that’s my top pick right now. Okay, cool. Um, I know that you and Rhett have mentioned The body keeps the score in the past and I love that book also for people kind of like what we talked about in the First 10 minutes. Yes of this episode the body keeps the score. Yes, if people Love that’s why red’s not here today The body was keeping the score and he needs a break. He needs a break. It was a rough month um, so for people who enjoy that and want to continue on that educational journey, um, delving deeper into like Uh, our immune systems and the autoimmune response, uh, because I also have autoimmune and autoimmune disorders. So I have started that journey for myself. I have two book recommendations, uh, In Elegant Defense, uh, by Matt Ritchell. That’s more in depth about, like, our immune system, and you learn about a lot more about our immune system and how it evolved, which is really cool. And then Yeah, and then The Last Best Cure by Donna Jackson Nakazawa. Um, this was recommended to me by, uh, an RN years ago. And I’m so glad she recommended it to me because it’s really good. It’s, um, This, the author is a scientific journalist who was diagnosed with some serious autoimmune stuff. And it was a year of her going through all of these, uh, different practices along with chatting with her doctors and getting on medicine of how, um, what she could also be doing in her life to combat it. Uh, Loves that book. I will say I have been taking some of these practices and putting it into my own life. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Five years ago now, I think almost. Um, somewhere around there. And my most recent blood work, when I went to my rheumatologist, it was the first all in the green. What? It was the first all in the green. So it’s like, is it from because of this book, solely I’ve been, I don’t, I don’t think, I think it’s, ive You’ve done a lot of things. I’ve been doing a lot of the things. The things, yeah. I’ve been doing all the things. I’ve been taking the meds. And I’ve been doing stuff in these books that are, you know, just general practices of taking care of yourself and your body, and Oh, it was such a good feeling. I like saw my blood test, so I was like, everything’s great! Well, congratulations! Ha ha! That’s awesome. So, um Did you celebrate by injecting yourself with something? Yes. I know that was part of it. I celebrated. You still do the self injections? I do the self injection still. I’ve switched, um, to have an injector around. Yeah, yeah. Somebody who’s okay with self injecting is the type of energy that you need in your life. I’m just, I’m just telling you. Yeah, that, that was a, that was a learned skill. I do not have that energy. I used to have panic attacks when I’d have to inject myself, because it would stress me out so bad. Yeah. And now it’s like, You’re over it. Give me the good stuff, like straight. It’s like putting air in tires. It is. Now I’m just like, I’m just like, all right, a little rubbing alcohol. Here we go. Does it make a noise or do you, when you do it, I make the noise for it. All right. The lid. All right. This is good. All right. What else do I have anymore? Okay. Ooh. Um, yes, this one. It is fiction, but I think it is a beautifully educational, um, take on, uh, women’s struggles, uh, for fitting into societal. Um, When Women Were Dragons, uh, Kelly Barnhill. It is, it takes place in around like the 1950s or so, but it’s, When things started shifting into women, uh, women’s rights and feminism and things, it, uh, skews history and a lot of these women who were being placed into boxes, who didn’t want to be placed into boxes, turn into dragons and fly away. Oh, shit. Um, Like, literally, literally, oh. Turn into dragons and leave. So I think, you know, just to bring it back to John Ham for a second, I think there, there is that storyline of Mad Men that like, uh, yeah, there’s like the figurative version of turning into a dragon for a Yeah. A uh, there there’s a jour, a journey for a few of those characters. There’s a jour Yeah. Female. There’s certainly, I can honestly, if I, uh, if they were to ever turn that into a film, I could see John Ham playing a, a cool character in there for sure. But, um, it’s, so that’s fiction. That’s fiction. Yeah, but you see it from the perspective of one of the daughters whose mother turned into a dragon and left. Okay. So you kind of see it from the children’s perspectives and coming up and then you start to learn how things were skewed. Anyway, it’s very good. Very good. Alright, I need your take on something. This makes me think of something. Ooh, okay. Um, Lincoln, I walked into a conversation, Lincoln’s back at, College now, his, uh, sophomore year. But he’s, he, he was home up until last week. They start really late. So I walked in on a conversation he was having with Christy, and um, they were talking about, I was like, what are y’all talking about? He’s like, well, I’m telling Lincoln what, what books he should read, and I’m like, Oh, you’re gonna, you’re gonna start reading, Lincoln? He’s reading! And, uh, he was like, yeah. It’s, it’s the, it’s the most attractive thing, uh, for women to find in men is that they’re readers. Yes! Which I think we talked about. Right? Yes! So, Lincoln is getting into reading for the dates. Okay, you can’t fault him for it, right? You can’t. So I’m thinking he knows what women wants, and he is working toward that anyone wants to connect. And it’s really smart to say, I’m going to read things. So I have things to talk to people about that are like, and I think there’s some really good ones in here. Yeah, this last one. I mean, is it is it manipulative to read this book just so you can talk about it on a date? Knowing Lincoln, no. Right, okay. Right, yeah, he’s not, he’s not, he doesn’t have a manipulative ball in his body. He doesn’t, he doesn’t. He really doesn’t. Yeah. He’s, he’s trying to gird himself. Yeah. Gird his loins for good conversation. Uh huh. So he’s making himself better. He’s not doing it to manipulate. But, okay, so, that’s, I like that response. I think, I think if someone were, But he’s gotta be into it, right? Yeah. I mean, you gotta find something that’s like a cross section between what you would want to talk to it. Woman on a date and something that you actually enjoy talking about in reading. Yeah, but stretching yourself a little bit with this, uh, they become dragons. I think might be if he could read it and actually get into it. Yeah, I mean, that’s gonna that’s gonna that’s gonna perk a perk a data. It’s really good and I don’t think it’s like any what I like about the book too is it’s it doesn’t feel like it’s anti. It’s just clearly like, if you put some, if you put people into a box, there are those who cannot be in that box. And that is okay. It’s like this, this vice grip that if you keep squeezing and squeezing, it’s not beneficial to anyone. And you have to allow people to be, um, their fullest selves. So, I, yeah, I think he would, I think he would enjoy it. Yeah. I think, do I have, uh, I probably have the hard copy, I can’t remember if I, uh, got it digitally or not, but he’s welcome to borrow any of my books, for sure. Alright, yeah, I’m gonna, I’ll put it to you this way. Next time he tracks down my location and calls me at a time convenient for me I will make this recommendation to him. Awesome. I mean, don’t stop. Oh, we got one more? I just got one more. Well, actually, I have two more. Changed my mind. Sorry. Um, for those who liked Wild by Cheryl Stray, do you know where she walks the Pacific Crest Trail? Oh. Um, they turned it into a movie with Reese Witherspoon ages ago. Um, if you like that, whole story, watch Becoming, or not watch, read, uh, Becoming, uh, Odessa. Like instead of, um, it’s Jennifer Davis, and it’s her story of hiking the Appalachian Trail by herself. So if you enjoy that I’d recommend it and then Jennifer Davis also totally insane she went on She doesn’t almost she has some she has some moments. She doesn’t almost die. Okay, but really fascinating woman she ended up going on and like there’s a A thing with the Appalachian Trail where people will run it and, um, to try and get, like, the fastest time you can. It’s a whole big thing that, like, they don’t really rest and they have people who bring them shoes and things and, like, they’re not carrying a big pack. Usually someone’s following them and can give them a small pack. Um, she Also did went back and did that. Oh, yeah, she also went back and did that And I has the best time. I don’t know like I think she has the best time on the trail for it so she’s one of the top for the Top times of completing the Appalachian Trail. That’s crazy. That’s not in that long How long does it take to run the Appalachian Trail to run it? Usually people complete the trail within like five to eight months Yeah, it’s 2, 175 miles. Yeah. If you want to look up The fastest known time to run the Appalachian Trail is 41 days, 7 hours and 39 minutes. Set by Karel Sabe in 2018. Oh, so this is, this is since I’ve read the book. However, most people take five to seven months to hike the trail. Told ya. Yes. Think about running for 41 days. Unreal. In, in that, in the trail. 2, 197 miles. The trail itself is so insane. Like, I know people do long distance running like that. Those, uh, extreme marathon things. But like, The Appalachian Trail is wild to me, especially when you get into, there’s Pennsylvania, and I think part of New Jersey, where you’re basically just running on rock. Oh yeah. Like, whew. That’s gotta be wild. So, um. That’s a cool one. That’s a really great, that’s a really fun book. So her going back and doing that, was that part of the book? It wasn’t part of the book, no. It’s just something else I learned about. I think maybe they mention it later on in the book, that she did it. She’s actually completed the trail multiple times now. Uh, but this was the, her first doing the trail. I could not have told you that it goes from Georgia to Maine. Oh, I could have. I thought about it. I know exactly what I would do. Which is? I would, I would, um. Run backwards. Exactly. Yeah, yeah. I would not recommend that. Run backwards and then, um. No, I would split it up into three because you can, um, you can divide up the trail. I know a lot of people don’t consider it, you’re completing the trail. But I would divide it up, um, into thirds. Okay. I would start in the middle third. Um. Which is around Virginia. Wait, no. I forget. Anyway, I do the middle third, and then the, I would start in May. Middle third, uh, top third, May, and start at Katahdin and go down, and then finish, um, in, Georgia the last so I’d end yeah at Georgia. That’s what I would do if I were to do it Just but you’re not gonna do that. That’s a weather That’s a weather long and we have to find another assistant and then we’d have to be having that barber conversation. We would yeah Because if I come back and it’s like do you get rid of? Yeah, that’s right Jenna. I know you don’t know unless you make a content and send a camera with me then reporting live from You have to be a reporter What kind of content we make we’re not we don’t we don’t make we don’t send people out we don’t travel We don’t really do travel either But that’s what I would do if I were to do it I do not approve of this dream of yours. It impacts me too much. That would be a cool society special, I think, checking in with Jenna on the Appalachian Trail. No, it takes too long. I cannot be assisted from the remote regions of the Appalachian Trail. She could take your, uh, satellite phone. Oh, yeah! I could buy your satellite phone. Well, it really only sends pre made texts, for the most part. Oh, okay. You couldn’t be like, Where did we leave this? This is where I am right now. I don’t want to know where you are, Jenna. I want you to help me! Help me figure out where I am! You could track my location for once, instead of me tracking yours. Um, I have one more fun one for all my Star Wars. Lovers out there. Uh, um, I, if you love Star Wars and you specifically love this character, Ventress, who you only see in the animated shows at this point in time anyway, I hope you see her in live action at some point. She’s a really cool character. Anyway, um, read Dark Disciple by Christine Golden. Dark Disciple? Yes. Yes. Wow. Highly recommend that Star Wars tale. Um, you, you learn a lot more about Ventress. I’m obsessed. Look at how bookish we are. I know. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Do you have, do you have. Let’s get bookish. Which one do you think you’re gonna read? Uh, the one that I said. Which one was that? Braiding Sweetgrass. And you’ll give, you’ll give the, uh, When Women Were Dragons to, to Lincoln maybe? Yeah. See what he thinks about it. I’ll, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll send him a link to this podcast, see if he can start by listening to this. Yeah. And then if he can make it through this, he can definitely make it through an audio book. If he can make it through this. No, this is great. Thanks for coming in. And sitting in the chair. Yeah. And filling in. Well, I feel like we’ve really helped people today. I think so. Not just with their readings. But with their livings. Yeah. And their hair stylings. And hair stylings. Remember you can call us and leave us a voicemail. 1 888 EarPod One! And we’ll talk at you next week. Oh my goodness, I’m so nervous all of a sudden. Hey Rhett and Link, this is um, Destiny. I’m actually just calling in to say what’s up. How’s it going?
