we had very low expectations for it because it was the kind of thing that was what we knew was a fun idea but we didn’t know how it was that the process was pretty involved you know you have to read to figure out how to say things so the computer would misinterpret them but you could still understand it you know there was a fine line there but ultimately we County concluded that what the computer gave us they were all English words but it was basically except for tenemos uh yeah I did give you to name us one think that was just a Spanish word but it was basically English words but in another language it’s just like if if you were to go to a settlement of people who once knew English but then reinvented a new language using the same building blocks so I mean we basically had to read it off of Labor Planet of the Apes they still spoke English you know it just always bothered me and they wore helmets which bothered me say why y’all gotta be when it’s like in the original HG Wells time machine he goes millions of years into the future and they’re still speaking English come on people well you had you know that’s better than subtitles but yeah but we you know people we were reading we know you looks like we’re looking off to the side of the camera was because we’re looking at what we wrote we’re looking at the script so we can know what to say because you cannot memorize just a list of strung together random English words you could but it would take forever and we would never finish the video well it would be like learning a foreign language it was like it was a foreign language right so we were able to pull from our experience we both took French in high school three years right three years of French and you know it might would have been more useful to take Spanish because there’s a lot more people that we come in contact with on a daily basis who might also know Spanish if Mexican spoke French then taking France would have been strategic but taking France like you Tom out in like combat taking French would have been strategic but that no one told us about like world we didn’t know anything about Mexico Canada were from Harnett County North Carolina we thought that Harnett County was the only was basically the extent of the universe but I’m glad I took French because if for no other reason our teacher miss slaughter who I guess she’s Miss Sewell now or miss slaughter school or whatever her name is she was miss slaughter at the time so one of one of one of my favorite teachers love all time yep one of my favorite teachers I would say she’s just a close second to miss Locklear who has to be our favorite teacher because you know we made a movie about her right but we got a message the other day through our website from a guy who is in miss slaughter schools class right now I think she just goes by miss Sewell now she still teaches French at Central High School and said that she was going through a bunch of old pictures that former students had drawn into she came up with two really funny ones and she said this is from Renee and let all our pictures she had she had kept all these years which is flattering rhett and Link yeah she gave everybody names I don’t know if your French teacher does that leave a comment let us know what far language you’re taking or I’ve taken and if you were given a name give us your real name Rhett and your French name or whatever name you were given in your class Renee and let’s at least I wasn’t given a female yeah I was given a female’s name my name was LA so I you know I got to do that whole thing every time my ice ed my own name I didn’t I didn’t go around saying my name because it was Renee and I got a sweatshirt with my name embroidered being named Tina what do you remember from French class I remember Joe m’appelle Lauren a gym a pedal yeah I remember like all their green beans ah c’est la vie I kind of seem like an Italian when I did that but I was French I remember so little how did I make a x’ all three years and she cheated remember nothing I remember nothing well that’s probably true of school in general I don’t want to denigrate miss slaughters ability like I said great teacher shoutout but yeah I mean I just knew how to make good grades but I didn’t but learning was not only in the agenda I’ll take what was on the agenda sleeping oh yeah I would we weren’t in the same class or sleeping in that class you were in like third period and I was in the period after lunch so I had an excuse for sleeping it was right after lunch my was the first period I think she changed my name from LA to sleepy lack huh she called me sleepy laughs wrong err because I couldn’t help but fall asleep you know it was it was that after lunch thing they should they should like have naptime after lunch even in high school but the key to sleeping while learning or at least making your teacher think that you’re learning is the position that you’re in mm-hm did you have any particular position that you would sleep in yes for me it was like it was on the out like the elbow would be on the edge of the desk because the desk what kind of reference the desk at Harmonia and then I would be like this so my ear would it’s like I was talking on the phone in class which is better than sleeping in class I guess but my eyes are closed it’s like I was talking on the phone and I was really into it’s like I was talking to my high school sweetheart hey baby I’m listening to you talking is so soothing so you were talking you got it you’re talking on the phone in class that’s not a good cover this is a good cover it was just comfortable look it’s you put the notebook down you put a pencil in your hand and you can like this and then when the drool hits your wrist you wake up Oh gross but you know that’s the other thing that I did eventually I just got banned in that technique altogether and you did this it was just like no I did this I would literally do this I would put my book right here and I just sleep exactly exactly like this like you had died I like loud on a plane and I would wake up and there would be a grease spot on the desk oh gosh and a perfect red circle on my forehead so the grease from your forehead not from your hair product I was moisturizing the wood of the desk I would I would – I would then rub it in and it would polish it up a little bit hmm how do you fall asleep in class is there some secret technique we know not of yeah I never did that but yes I mean you get to a point where you know you know you’re just do it you could just do that the nodding off thing this is very embarrassing if you’re like in the front of the class boom boom give yourself it whiplash and nowadays with all every student has a cell phone cam if you start doing that they’re going to put you on you know put you on the Internet you can’t let that kind of thing happen but I mean what fun is it to put a guy on the internet who’s just doing this thank you miss slaughter for putting up with all our crap for three years and for teaching us gin just sweet yeah I’m trying to conjugate am but I can’t do it that’s not your fault I’m just I’m just getting old and
