GMM 1313.2: Taco Bell Pop-Tart Taste Test

See you got some seepage. Oh! It’s hot on the side. Yeah, not, the pan came right out of the oven. I’m gonna punch a frickin’ hole. ( music playing ) Rhett: Pop-Tarts, a slender, portable pie with a hidden flavor secret inside. Link: That secret has always been sweet, but today we’ll make it mystery meat. Let’s see if we can successfully think inside the tart with a Taco Bell taco stuffed Pop-Tart. – Scalpel. – Scalpel. – Scalpel. – Scalpel. Scalpel. – Link: It’s not good. – Josh: This is starting poorly. Just cut the top layer off. It’s just become one thing. There’s absolutely no doing this. Pop the lid on that puppy. See if you can get the taco in there. Is that what you had in mind? You’re gonna need a bigger pastry. We got flour. Now, take it. Dust all over the board. You just wanna go ahead and roll that out. I’m tired. I’m tired. I’m tired. Double team it. We could go all night like this. We’re tired. So we’re gonna take this, and we’re just gonna get it as flat as possible, and it’d gotta be real big. – So this is a Pop-Tart. – No, that’s a taco. There’s a taco. So we just gotta figure out– – Make it a rectangle? – Yeah. You don’t seem confident with your cuts, and they’re not straight. This is why Pop-Tarts are so expensive. This is why I just buy them. Just rip up all the excess dough. I know exactly where this is going. – Yeah, this is what’s happening. – Tastes so good. Let’s just take stock right quick. We have made a pastry triangle. Nope, that’s a rectangle. We’re gonna take this bigger rectangle and put it on top of the taco. And then we just gotta crimp, trim, and bake. ( together ) Crimp, trim, and bake. – Can I be crimp? – I’ll be trim. Guess that leaves me to be bake You gotta go– swoop down. Down and through. Crimpin’ ain’t easy. This is how they do it at Pop-Tart Incorporated? Yeah, Pop-Tart U. Every day. I’m holding my breath. Pop-Tarts have holes that prevents steam from rising and creating air bubbles. Make it ornate. Baker is also scooper. Throw that in the oven. Fantastic. Pop-Tarts are filled with, like a sweet goo What if we made a savory goo? Are you talking about making an alternate stuffed Pop-Tart? I think we can throw some tacos in a blender with a bunch of fire sauce and make, like, a taco jam. – Let’s do it. – Let’s do it. Pop the top on this blender. – Bam. – You can toss them in the hole. You can crunch them through your hands. It’s really satisfying. And then we have 11 packets of fire sauce. You know what, Josh, the time that we spent together has given me so much more confidence in the kitchen. Crank it up a little bit, and then really, like, go to town. You gotta like smash it. Let’s take a peak-see in there. It’s looking pretty smooth. You’re gonna have some lettuce chunks, but that’s gonna be a nice, little refreshing bite. Let’s get this into a piping bag. We do a lot of things as three people that one person would be better at. Just shape it down into the bag. Like kind of like– you can twist it. You don’t have to tell Crimp how to twist. Whoo, we’re getting somewhere. This is the key part. You gotta kind of do a little mash. Just a little pat. This is really looking like a dad-gone Pop-Tart – It really does. – Let’s throw it in the oven. You’re gonna let Trim just stick his hand in the oven? Yeah. We already got one baking. That was… Who saw that? – Let’s make the icing. – Let’s make the icing. – Let’s make it. Icing. – What? Let’s make it. Icing. Two sent– I did a period in the middle. Let’s make it. Icing. We can’t make it. You have to do it. – Yeah, I can make it. – You should say it. Let’s make icing. Yeah, like that. Perfect. ( clears throat ) Why aren’t you making the icing? Oh, we’re doing it. Let’s make icing. – Right. – Now I’m gonna go get the stuff to make the icing. So we’re gonna make a fire sauce glaze. This goes in here. Yeah, and then you’re gonna take a quarter cup. You gotta whisk it super fast. Oh, that’s nice. Those Pop-Tarts ready? One of them looks like a Pop-Tart And the other one looks like… – A taco trapped… – In a Pop-Tart. Give it a little slather. We got some serious seepage. Oh! It’s hot on the side. Yeah, no, the pan came right out of the oven. I’m gonna punch a freakin’ hole. We’re gonna take that out of the video. No one’s ever gonna see that you made that mistake. Now, you’re cutting it, but we didn’t toast it. We toasted it for about 35 minutes. – Look at that… – That’s a taco inside of a Pop-Tart. Here, take that one. Look at that. Let’s try the bigger one first, then get– I’m going on the meat side. – Josh: Yeah. – Yeah. The sweet is in that frosting. Josh ( mouth full ) I know. Look at that taco coming out. This is a breakthrough. It tastes really good, but I wanna try one that’s more uniform. I want the same thing in every bite. – Josh: Yeah. – Link: Okay, dink it. – Wow. – That’s the ticket right there. – This is awesome. – This is seriously good. The frosting really does something for it. – This may be the best thing I’ve ever made. – It’s really good. And that’s including all the cereal that I’ve poured. That was so good, Josh. Yeah.
