GMM 1856: We Try Boiling Weird Things (Test)

We’re about to reach our boiling point. – Let’s talk about that. (upbeat music) Good Mythical Morning. – Now I’m sure you’re familiar with the saying a watched pot never boils, but have you heard it’s less popular cousin, never boil a pot of watches? These are the type of real discussions that happen around mythical HQ that lead to episodes like this. – I agree, never boil a pot of watches, but today in the spirit of boilin’ watches, we’re gonna boil some other stuff. Stuff that if we had an authority figure in our lives, we’d have to ask them if we could first. And then when they said no, we’d have to get upset and sneak around and do it, anyways, that type of stuff. – We really need an authority figure in our lives. – So let’s boil some stuff, we have no business boiling. It’s time for boiling stuff beyond spaghetti. We’ll boil anything, but never a yeti, they’re endangered. (upbeat music) – You know a lot of people don’t know this, but I’m an avid collector of fine glass figurines, like little animals. And everyday I tell my kids, they’re not toys to be played with. I tell ’em these figurines are friends of mine. We hang out, Peggy, the dolphin, Sammy, the squirrel. I text him occasionally like usually something like a little funny tweet or a meme just something funny, not anything emotional. I mean I think if I was going through something really difficult they’d be there for me, but we don’t trade sob stories. We just talk about like shows we’re watching, stuff like that. – What do you wash them with? – Windex, that’s why we’re here, Windex. And I was thinking, here’s Sammy and Peggy. And they get really dirty because a lot of times I play while I’m eating and I was playing and I was eating chips and corn syrup, (laughing) like I like to do. And they got really dirty. And I was thinking, man, it would be cool, ’cause I spent so much time just spraying them down with Windex. What if I could spray ’em down with boiling Windex? – We’re gonna find out if boiling hot Windex cleans better than regular Windex. – Ammonia free, ’cause you don’t wanna boil anything that’s got ammonia in it. Okay, that would be toxic. You shouldn’t be boiling Windex anyway, don’t try this at home. But if you just insist on doing it, ammonia free. Here we go, let’s get it going. – This is quite a slow start to this process. – Yeah it takes a second to. – All right, so we’re gonna boil it and we’re gonna put it back in the bottle. Smelling like clean windows in here or figurine friends. – Look at that. – It’s rising. – Yessiree That’s what I’m talking about. Freaking coming up. – Yeah, that’s what we’re looking for right there. – Stop, stop. – No, no, no, take it. Let him take it, let him take it. It’s cleaning him, look, it’s cleaning him, it’s going right on him. (laughing) – I’m glad the tray was there. – Yeah, just throw them in there. Throw them in there. – Okay. – Just toss them in, they don’t mind. – Well it’s glass. It’s glass. – Throw the other one in there. Throw other one in there. – I’m gonna seal them back up and boil again, let’s go. (audience laugh) – Look, it’s coming right? – That’s nice. – It’s coming right off of them. – [Link] Look at that. – You should just throw them into some regular Windex and we’ll see if the boiling works better than, here we go. – Okay. – Here we go. We’ve got to catch it again, gosh. Yeah, they’re really getting clean. It’s like a carwash in there. It’s like a figurine wash. I just put ’em in there every time and it, don’t worry, it’s fine. – Well, I’m worried. – They’re good. – I’m worried. – First of all, it’s not blue anymore, look at that. – What’s (indistinct) freaking blue- – It’s not blue anymore. – I will just submerge these in cold Windex. – Tong them out of there. I bet you, if you tong, Sammy and Peggy out of here and place them on this sheet right here they’re gonna be completely clean, that’s my theory. Look at that, look, he is so pristine, look at it. – I don’t even need, I’m gonna put it right here. – That Sammy. – There’s a little bit of turd left up there. – It’s fine. And then– – That’s Peggy, Be careful, be a little bit more gentle, please. – Well there’s a lot of glass happening. Look at that. – They look like they, they look like the day I got them off that shelf in Myrtle Beach. (audience laugh) – Okay. – I mean, as pristine as the day I got to know ’em. – See these. – Well over here, he just dumped them in Windex is on. ‘Cause they locked themselves in. – Why am I even using tongs for this? – I don’t know. (audience laugh) Look at that, that’s not Sammy. By the way, this is Sammy. I don’t even know where that came from. Well, it came from the same shop, but I don’t speak to those. – Well I’m gonna tell you right now, they’re cleaner. (laughing) (upbeat music) We may never experience the joy of being a soccer mom with orange slices, cold Gatorade and hot gossip. But we’re thinking maybe we can boil some eggs in Gatorade and create the next soccer mom craze on Pinterest. We’re gonna infuse protein into sports drink. We’re gonna make a protein drink, right? – Well I think what we’re really trying to do here is see what happens to the eggs. I mean, I’ll see what happens to that. – Well we’re making Gatorade. – Gatorade. – Right, you can drink this and maybe there’s some egg, you’re right. – This is what you’re gonna be given out to all the kids at half time. So let’s put two eggs. And now, first of all, these are already boiled, boiled and peeled. So you’re gonna have to pre-boil those before you get to the game and then you’re going to bring your whole set up to the soccer match. And then you got to turn them on. – All right, they’ve been activated. – Now, Peewee soccer or whatever they call it these days. The halfs don’t last that long. And so you could probably hit boil. Whoa, here we go. – Firing up. – Like halfway through the first half. – That one stopped on his own. – This one knew it was time so those are gonna stop – Yes. – At the same time. – All right, so now– – That’s cause I pushed him just after you pushed that one. Alrighty, so we’ve got our handy-dandy scoop. – Look at that, the kids are gonna go wild. – It’s some eggs that are colored. I mean this again, this is something you, that you never see unless it’s Easter. – But hold on, but this isn’t what you do at Easter. Easter, you do it on the outside. You don’t do it on, you don’t do boiled eggs, most of the time– – That’s a rich color. – Wow, the red really came through. – Well, we’re gonna have to donkey lift these things to make sure that we don’t burn ourselves. I’m gonna go for a red one. (audience laughing) – I’m gonna take a full bite of this thing. Oh man, the flavor– – Totally white inside. It did not seep that far. – Hey, do you think we could get on “Shark Tank” with this? – This looks like a freakin’– – Think about us. – Tight we listen– – Think about us on “Shark Tank.” – We’re so above “Shark– – No, no no. I’m gonna make– – (indistinct) rash. – I make eye contact with Cuban the whole time. Mark Cuban, you make eye contact with, name one of the other ones I can’t. (audience laughing) And then we just, in fact, I’m gonna get it down so that I never stop looking at Cuban. I just look at him and I’m doing all this stuff and he’s like, man, he’s good. He’s boiling things, there are eggs in there. And they come out there and then I take it and I serve them directly to Cuban. (upbeat music) Now, we’re not gonna be boiling this store bought pumpkin pie, we’re gonna be trying it and eating it. It’s so good, store bought pumpkin pie is so good. And that’s why today on Mythical Kitchen, Josh is asking the question and exploring, is it worth it to actually take the time to make a pumpkin pie from scratch when it’s so good from the store? – It’s already so good. Go to the Mythical Kitchen Channel and watch that video in order to find out the truth. – Can I get some of that crust in there– – About homemade pumpkin pies. It’s after Halloween. So that means you’ve gone through all your candy except for the candy corn. That’s just laying around ’cause, who are we kidding? You don’t want to have anything to do with that. And you got all those cornucopia toppers and you’re done with those. So you basically got a bunch of cobs laying around. So our task is to boil candy corn, in order to reconstitute a cornless cob and make candy corn cobs. (laughing) – Yeah, I understand. So we’ve got some corn syrup because why not have enough sugar? – Is it boiling when it’s not water, but syrup? – I think we can get it to boil. – Let’s just dump all of this candy corn in there. Shall we? – Why not? It’s your show. – That’s a lot. I mean, I don’t think it’s all gonna fit. – Yeah, it’ll fit. – Okay, here we go. And now (laughing) I mean, it just looks like a candy jar. – Don’t stick your hand in there. Yeah, I got every season of “Alias” on DVD. Yeah. Yeah tonight, tonight, that’s what we’re doing. Yeah, it’s getting there. I’m creating a little cavity in there. – We’re making some progress now. Are you getting tired? You want me to take over? – I don’t trust you. – You want me– – You’re too close to my lap – You want me to help you out? – Nope, all right, Link. Can you turn that off? I don’t know how it works– – Feeling good? Right, I can barely turn it on, but. – I will stand up and get out of your way. – Well, I’m just gonna to do it over here, man. You don’t have to get up. This is kinda cool? – See, this is what happened. You start commenting on the coolness of something and then the next thing you know, it’s all over my lap. – Yeah, look, it it’s it’s a bit chunky ’cause we were, we were impatient. – Okay stop, ’cause I think we’ve got so much at this point. So what we’re gonna do is just eat this. It kind of looks like a brand new cob of corn. (laughing) – You know how corn looks. – Just like that? – You know how corn looks like it’s just been dipped in some orange. – Does it, hot? Does it hot? Don’t you get burned now. Don’t you burn yourself. Yeah. – Oh baby. – Your heart, want to just grab this then. – Grab one of those corns. – It doesn’t really wanna stick to the corn– – Flip it around, blow on it and then take a big nasty bite of it. – I think if you like put this in the fridge and then you did another layer, put it in the fridge and then you did another layer and put it in the fridge. I mean, you’d be in Pinterest territory. – Look at that, I got stalagmites or something, stalactites. – Hot candy corn. – That is good. – I think it’s just that you like candy corn – It’s just sugar. – It’s just orange sugar on a corn. – I like this, man. – That’s good. – It was totally worth it. – And now we’re we’re recycling cob. – I mean you saw what we did. It was easy, trouble-free, and I got more, I can bring them, bring me all your cobs. – No, no no. I’m gonna save the rest of this one for my lunch. (upbeat music) – It’s never too early to start decorating your stocking. And you know, and sometimes I color so hard. I get cramps in my wrist. So I just thought, instead of coloring my stocking this year, like I do every year. – Okay. – I’m gonna melt my crayons and then decorate my stocking, so– – I got some red crayons. – And I got some green crayons. – And I got a pitcher of water to boil. So I’m just going to throw all of those in there and starter. You’ve already started yours. – Yeah man, we’re ahead of you. I’m so excited about the season. – Okay, now crayons are made of wax. – Wax. – And wax melts. – Wax. – End of story. – Yeah. – Well plus time. – Yeah, yeah, that’s it. That’s the ticket. – Okay, keep it moving. ♪ Keep your crayons moving ♪ ♪ Always be self-improving ♪ – I think I’m gonna pour mine out. – I’m not quite ready yet. – Yeah, look at that, look what my ladle looks like. Look at this. – I think it’s gonna crack it. – Yeah, okay. – I think it’s Sizzling noises, is that safe? – It doesn’t mix with the water. – Well careful son. You got hot. – Like a hot thigh. – You got hot red on my pants. – It doesn’t wanna mix the water. So that creates a hydro dipping situation. And then I’m going to just ball it up like this. Just, you know random, that’s my way. And I’m gonna hold, I don’t want it to get on the fur on top. So I’m gonna hold the fur away and I’m just gonna dip, dip, dip, dip. – Okay. – Get it in there.
