Today, we taste everything on everything. – Let’s talk about it. (gentle, upbeat music) – Good Mythical Morning! – While there is plenty of debate about the true origin story of the everything bagel, there is no debate whatsoever that everything bagel seasoning has taken the world by storm! – Mm yeah. (mimicking whooshing) – This now iconic blend of spices has transcended the humble bagel and turned it to a bonafide lifestyle, a critical part of one’s personality. – Hmm. – Now, Link, I know that the idea of a bagel is foreign to you because that’s what you said to us. – Sure. – But how would you describe your relationship with the everything seasoning? – Well, I like a sesame seeds and I like salt and I like garlic and I like onions and I like black sesame seeds, I guess. And I like poppy seeds, so I guess I like everything in everything seasoning. – Well, when you eat it straight up, it packs a punch. (coughing) Today, we’re gonna be tasting a bunch of non-bagel food products that have shamelessly jumped on board to everything seasoning train and seeing which ones our taste buds will- – Will what? You okay? – I’m having- – Too much of everything? – Will make our taste buds go- (mimicking train whistling). Or not. It’s time for what will we think, think, think of foods seasoned with everything but the kitchen sink, sink, sink. Tune in tomorrow to watch us taste kitchen sinks. – We’re gonna be presented with six real everything seasoning flavored food products, including some that are away in left field, and we’re gonna rank each one on this board behind us. – Yes, we have six different rankings, starting with number six. Dead last ses-a-me. (laughing) A-salt-ed my taste buds. Is that everything? Gar-lickin’ my lips. Ay, poppy! And seasonings yeetings! Let’s eat everything. (logo whooshing) – First up, we’ve got Trader Joe’s everything but the bagel seasoned kettle chip potato chips. – Yeah, you got it. – What? – Yeah- – Everything about the bagel seasoned kettle cooked potato chips. – These have to be good. – [Link] Oh, gosh. – And also, Trader Joe’s has every right to bring these into the world because a lot of people accredit them with everything sorta seasoning craze because back in 2017, they introduced this. – I like the dramatic pause. Back in 20- – [Together] 17. – It’s like 20 what? I can’t wait to hear. – Whoa, a little sweet. – Kettle chip. Got all that niceness on it. – It’s sweeter than I thought it was gonna be. – I like how they kept their packaging consistent. If this is really working, then this should work, too. That’s what packaging does, people. There’s power in packaging! Just ask Twinkie-fingles. That’s the third way I’m gonna say it. These are so good, man. They might be the top and stay the top. – Did you expect the sweetness? It’s not just savory. I mean, I like it. – It is surprising and it’s not actually sweet. I think it’s something with the potato. It’s a Canadian potato. – No, it says it has a pinch of sugar. – Oh. – Added to these. Yeah, sugar. And there’s no sugar in everything seasoning. – I could do without the sugar. I don’t think they should have done that. So I’m gonna start it out- – It’s interesting that they added the sugar. I agree. I don’t think they need it. – Yeah, I didn’t. You’ve actually ruined it for me by pointing it out. – [Rhett] Yeah. – Yeah. But it’s still number two. It could’ve been number one. – Added sugar. (logo whooshing) Next up, we’ve got Jeni’s everything bagel ice cream. An artisanal, or as I like to say, artis-anal, ice cream company founded in Ohio, Jeni’s sells all sorts of unique flavors, like cold brew with coconut cream, sweet cream biscuits and peach jam, everything bagel. Now, this is a cream cheese ice cream base, which I’m definitely into the idea of that. I like to savory, sweet-y things. – I’m sorry, I had to go in. I’m also sorry that I leave half of my bite of ice cream on my spoon. Don’t get a closeup of that. (laughing) People hate it. And I can’t stop the habit. – Shew, this is exquisite. – It better be. We paid $12 for it, but. (laughing in background) That’s expensive, but Jeni’s, she brings it. They make some good ice cream. – And they arse- (stammering) They arse. They’ve sold out of this. This is a limited time. There’s no more. They don’t know if they’re bringing it back, but we got some, just in case, just in time. – This has no business being as good as it is. I mean, it doesn’t sound great, does it? Garlic and salt. I mean, I guess the salt and- – They’ve minimized some of the flavors that would be off-putting. – And what’s the chewy stuff, did you say? – I mean, there’s so many ingredients in this. – Buttery streusel laden with sesame poppy seeds. And onion and garlic. – This is one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. – You get that onion-y, garlic-y after taste, but I can’t explain why it works. It just freaking does! – I knew it was gonna work. I wanted it so bad ever since I heard about it, but I waited here because I knew we’d be eating it on this episode. All right. – I like it better than those sweet chips because of the sugar. I’m now moving to number four. – Can you imagine it getting better than that? I hate that they discontinue. Don’t discontinue this. Bring it back, Jeni. (logo whooshing) Let’s keep our taste buds a break so we can praise our taste buds! (laughing) Over in the Mythical Kitchen. Now, when you subscribe to the Mythical Kitchen channel, it’s like you’re signing up for culinary school, if your culinary professor wore Jordans all the time and talked too fast while sharing his passion for unique and delicious food. But you know what? We think you’ll like it. You’ll also love Josh and Nicole’s podcast, A Hot Dog is a Sandwich, where they take a bite out of the internet’s trickiest food topics, like is In-N-Out overrated? Is it? Check them out on Spotify or wherever you hunt for podcasts. – It’s gonna be hard to top that with beef jerky, but we’re gonna try. We’ve got Field Trip everything bagel beef jerky. Don’t hold back on me now. I guess I can, yeah, it’s got a good coating. – 20 bucks for this pack of beef jerky. – Well, you get four of these for 20 bucks. – Oh, beef jerky. Quite a margin. – Beef jerky got a strong flavor on its own that is not overpowered by the everything bagel seasoning. Matter of fact, I’ll kind of wish it were more powered. – Because if you ate this and it was overed, would you think? – No. – I would just think this is just beef jerky. – Yeah, it’s just not strong enough. I’m not really getting. – It’s not bad. I actually kind of liked their beef jerky. It’s tender, moist. – It’s a really good taste, but a lot of beef jerky already has that garlic marinade type thing, so we’re not really covering any new ground. There’s nothing really wowing me about this. I think we’ve got to put this below the potato chip. – It’s not as good as the chips. – For that reason. – You’re right about that. It’s not as good as the chips. I like the packaging. I don’t. Well, actually I don’t. I don’t like it when you put the animal that you’re eating on the package. – Okay, he liked it until he didn’t. – Yup. When I saw that cow, I was like, nope. Don’t wanna think about that. (logo whooshing) Next up, we have Whole Foods 365 frozen everything pastry wrapped franks. Come on, y’all, it’s pigs in a blanket! Quit trying to dress it up. – Pastry wrapped frank? Seriously? That’s a big demerit! – And pigs in a blanket is a plus. Pigs in and everything blanket. (laughing) I mean, come on. You missed the marketing opportunity. – Anything savory. Thesis, anything savory is made better with everything bagel seasoning. – Now, I’m a pigs in a blanket man. You got pigs in a blanket at your party, I’m gonna be eating them, okay? You’re not gonna be, like when you make your pigs in a blanket, you’re like, you think we made too many? If I show up, you didn’t make too many, okay? Don’t worry. Make two dozen. Nobody wants it? I’ll eat them. – I don’t think these tastes great. – But I don’t think these are better than regular pigs in a blanket. – They’re not. – That’s exactly where I was getting to. – And I think that’s probably just a 365 frozen thing that’s happening, but- – I don’t think so. – It’s certainly not being elevated by the everything spice because I wanna be biting into granules and you can see it, but you can’t feel it. – How many times has that been said? I wanna be biting into granules. Because I don’t think most people think that. – I think it’s a defining experience associated with everything bagel seasoning is the little- – Yeah, there’s a little crunch. – The little crunch of the granules. – I just think that the pastry and wiener combination is such a beautiful thing that you mess with it too much. Link’s not getting his granule fix. I’m not getting my pigs in a blanket fix. We’re gonna put this at number six. – They tried make it good for you. – Right. I said six and fix. (logo whooshing) – Ritz everything crackers. – Who would’ve thought? I like a Ritz Cracker, just straight up, though. – But it looks like a slightly dirty Ritz cracker. I mean, there’s just little, a few black specs, but there’s just not- – Taste it. – There’s not the- – They nailed the taste profile. The flavor profile is everything plus Ritz, which is a really good combination. Now, you’re not getting granules, but you couldn’t package, you couldn’t mass produce these things with the granules that you’re wanting. – It’s very mild. – Mm-hmm. – And it’s a lot in the aftertaste. – Add some more! Nobody’s gonna care about that. – I mean, granules, man. That’s what you want. There is a way to make a cracker and have that type of stuff stick to it. That’s even better. – Well, there’s not a way for Ritz to do it. They got, what is it, Nabisco? Who makes Ritz? I was covering it up with my thumb. Yes, Nabisco. Everything’s gotta be streamlined. These are not bad. I don’t think they’re as good. They’re somewhere next to the chips in my mind. – Yeah, I wanna put it behind the chips because at least the chips are fresh. It’s like a new concept. And there’s more of an experience. With this, it’s quite subtle. – It’s close. I mean, if you feel strongly about that, that’s fine. – Yeah, let’s just say they’re tying. (logo whooshing) – And finally, we come to the most exciting food I can think of, broccoli bites. These are Rhythm Superfoods crunchy broccoli bites, everything bagel flavor. – Now, you’re giving them a hard time, but I know that you’re a fan of the Rhythm brand and we have a lot of their snacks laying around because you know. Well, this one’s got excellent vitamin C and good source of fiber. They’re better for you. – I do enjoy- – And like a Pringle. – I do enjoy the bites of this dried veggies kind of thing. – It just looks like a normal head of broccoli, but this thing is lighter than a feather. – Now, speaking of crunch, man, you’re gonna get your granule fix. You’re gonna get a crunch fix. – [Link] Oh, yeah. (chewing and crunching) – I mean, it is what it is. It’s still broccoli. You know how when you walk into the house and somebody had been cooking broccoli, you’re like, oh! – Oh, somebody farted. – There’s a bit of fish food sensation that happens when you eat a dried broccoli. – There’s a bit of- – It’s not good. – It’s just what broccoli tastes like. – Dried broccoli tastes bad to me, but this helps. (Link whooshing) – [Rhett] Nothing came out. – It didn’t help enough, man. – You think these are worse than the- – I like the dried beats from Rhythm, but I do not like their broccoli bites and the everything bagel did not rescue it. – I just don’t. I’m just not a huge fan of broccoli. I think these might be worse than, you think they’re worse than the pigs in a blanket? I think they are. – Yes. I told you to stand up! Stand up! You’re number four and you’re gonna like it! – So there you have it. The clear winner, and when I say clear winner, I mean- – Heads above the rest. – This is something that is so good, it’s transcendent. – [Link] Heads above the rest. – Jeni, I don’t think you even understand what you have done here. You’ve done something- – Jeni. – That has changed the ice cream game in a way that I didn’t think was possible. – And Jeni, you’re changing my life. (slow jazz music) Every moment that I take a bite of this ice cream. Bring it back! – Not only should you bring it back, but Jeni, just between you and us and the millions of- – I told you to stand up! – He’s normally not like, well, actually, he’s always like this, but that’s why I’m here. Okay, so just me and you. – Jeni, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for you to see that, girl. I only want you to see my jovial happy celebratory side. – You’re a little too sexy right now. Don’t do that. – Oh, yeah. Jeni, this should be, this is business. Business proposition. – We believe in you. We hope you believe in us and we believe that there could be a connection here. (jazz music playing) Oh, I got a little sexy there, too. (laughing in background) I’m not trying to be sexy with you, Jeni. All I’m saying- – I know you’re saying. – We’ve got all kinds of ideas. You’ve got an incredible ability to bring wonderful ideas for ice cream. – Hey, let’s work together! – Hey, come on, why don’t we just? – A Mythical ice cream pint. – Call us. – It could be Rhett and Link pint. It could be just a Link pint. – Yeah, well. – And a Rhett pint. – I mean, we’d have two, yeah. – Yeah. – Or just one, whatever. – We’d eat it all the time. We’d talk about it. – Yeah, right. (slow jazz music) Let’s talk. – Thanks for subscribing and clicking that bell. – You know what time it is, Jeni. – I’m Rhett. – And I’m Link. (speaking in foreign language) – It’s my sixteenth birthday and it’s time to spin the wheel of Mythicality! – Hey, that’s a good sixteenth birthday! – Happy birthday! Click the top link to watch us create and try new everything seasoned foods in Good Mythical More. – And to find out where the Wheel of Mythicality is gonna land. – [Nicole] Ketchup is a smoothie. – [Josh] Yeah, I put ice in my cereal. So what? – [Nicole] That makes no sense. – [Josh] A hot dog is a sandwich. – [Nicole] A hot dog is a sandwich. (both laughing) – [Josh] What? (upbeat music)
