Spell check, more like smell check. – Let’s talk about that. Good mythical morning. – The big game is this Sunday. You know, the one with the initials, SB. – SB? – So we thought a good way to prep for it would be to compete in our own SB. – SB? – That’s right. We’re about to go head to head in the smelling bee. – Unfortunately, there is no halftime show, but if you’re lucky, you may catch a nip slip from Dave and I. – Uh oh, okay. – Mr. Gin if you’re nasty. – Prime that sniffer, ‘cos we’re about to smell some pretty stinky words. It’s time for – [Narrator] The 4th kind of sorta Annual Burbank Invitational Smelling Bee. – Welcome to the odor auditoria. – Here’s how the smelling bee works. We’re gonna take turns here at the stank bank, smelling each of these stinks. If you guess correctly what’s in the jar, the first letter of that word shows up on the board over there. Once you you’ve guessed all four, however many letters are there or not, you’ve gotta move over and you gotta spell it correctly. And it’s gotta be the right thing. If it is, that stinky word gets dumped on the other person. If you get it wrong, it gets dumped on you. – Somebody gets dumped either way. – Yep. – The two standard smelling bee lifelines are still in effect. We can ask for the origin of a smell or we can ask for the smell to be used in a sentence. That’s once you’re up here guessing the words and it can only be used one time, one lifeline per person for the whole shebang. – Okay, shebang. Rhett McLaughlin, what grade are you in, sir? – Probably like 37th grade. I don’t know. – All right. Just a point of clarification, I said that it was a stank bank, but it’s really just a scent bar. They don’t stink, they’re just scents. – [Rhett] Yeah. – So yeah, start on your right for the first letter. – Now, are these straws gonna be shared throughout the game or do we… – I hope not. – Okay, ‘cos I’m gonna put them in my nose. – [Link] Yeah, do it. – Just so you know. – All right. Go for it. – Straws. – Take it in deep man. – It’s funny how you get it initially, and then it goes away. – Oh yeah? – It’s like a sweet, a sweet sort of puddingy smell, like a vanilla pudding. I’m smelling a lot of coffee because your coffee is right next to me and it’s out. I need to move, I need to move those away from me. – The coffee is a nose cleanser between rounds. – Oh, you know what? It could be a yogurt. – Okay. We’re gonna need an answer. – What makes more sense? Pudding or yogurt? Pudding. – No, move on. He’s now smelling– – Okay, that’s strong. – the second scent. – That’s very strong. That’s a, it smells like a cleaner, like, but sort of pine. It’s a, is it a cleaner of some kind? – I understand why you would think it is a cleaner but it’s not a cleaner. Bring it all you want. – Shaving cream? – It is not shaving cream. No. – Okay. All right, I’m gonna move these, move this. – Coffee beans, they’re your cleanse, pallet cleanser, you can hide it. – I’ll employ that just to clean it out here. – Okay. All right. Go for your third one. – Okay. Well, I gotta– – [Link] You got nothing so far. – Yeah, this is not shaping up very well. This is a, this is a very familiar smell. – Uh huh. – Smells like my shampoo. My shampoo is tea tree oil shampoo. Golly. It’s such a specific smell. – [Link] I can see the anguish on his face. – Mint? No, no, no, no, no, no. Lavender. – But, okay. Yeah. That’s right. – [Rhett] Ah. Yes. – All right. You got it. You got one. Okay. Rhett. It’s your final box. – What? Ah, man, the first thing that hits you is, is like a Sriracha. But nastier than that, like a nasty sort. Is it old Sriracha? – Is that your final answer? – Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I like this. – So you’re guessing old Sriracha? – Well, you know what? In a way, Kim, she is old Sriracha. – You got it, man. Okay. You’ve got an L, you’ve got a K, step over here into the zone and spell your word. – Holk? Okay, the first one I said pudding but I was choosing between pudding and yogurt. If the first one is yogurt, that’s a Y, the word is yolk. Y O L K, yolk, which is eggs, I think. – Will you hold my glasses for me? No! – Oh man. – Oh, okay, okay. – I am so glad I dodged it. – Okay. Okay. Why is it so cold? – [Rhett] Ah, man. I’m so glad I dodged it. – Good gosh, that’s some cold yolk. Oh man. I feel so yolked right now. Oh. Oh, you could have heated it, man. – Do you want your glasses back? – Ah, next round. – Charles Lincoln Neal III, what grade are you in? – I don’t know. I don’t care. – [Rhett] Oh, okay. – All right. – Wow. Okay. – This game sucks. – It does. I mean, listen, I’ve been in that position a lot lately. I tell ya. – It’s very shellish, like. – Yeah. Well, it is good for your skin. – Uh, citrusy. – Okay. – But sour. – Oh? – It’s almost like a, like what’s that like the stinky fruit, but it’s not stinky? It’s definitely not orange. It’s not lemon. I think it’s grapefruit. Guh-guh-guh-guh-guh, grapefruit. – I’m sorry. That is not correct. – Woodsy and sour. – Okay. And I think the sour is the yolk on your body. – Oh yeah? Already? – Yeah, I think so. – I’m already turning? – Yeah. And I’m not really sure where the woodsy’s coming from either. – It’s getting more pleasant. – [Rhett] Yeah. That’s what it does. – Floral. – Uh huh, uh huh. – It’s something that grows wild. – Something that grows wild. – It’s like something I might smell on a hike. – Well, in Los Angeles, maybe. – You know what? It’s soapy. – [Rhett] Okay. All right. – It’s air freshenery. – Hmm hmm. – It’s the second letter. So I think this is probably a vowel too. – Oh, you’re taking my technique, huh? – So, ivory soap. – You know what? That’s very ingenious, but I’m sorry. That’s incorrect. And it’s not a soap. Just so, I’ll just say that it’s not a soap. – Okay. – It has soap-like qualities but listen, I think– – I’m not crying. I have yolk in my eye. – Now you’re on easy street, I think. – Easy street? – Yeah. You’re gonna get this one. – Oh, I’ve been here. – Whoa. Are you okay? – It is, it’s foody. – Uh oh. – It’s saucey. – Well… – Oh crap. I know what this is. What is this? – Dude, I know that feeling. It makes you, it makes you– – I know– – so angry, – what I’m sniffing. – because you know what you’re smelling, but you can’t find it. You can’t connect it to words that exists in your brain. – Oh. Oh, come on. I know what this is. It’s, it’s, it’s, is it, it’s medicinal? – Well, you know what? Probably, probably in the old days. – [Link] Oh really? – Yeah. – Oh man. I can’t even see with this eye anymore. – Medicinal, food-ey, saucey. You’re all over it, you’re all over it. – Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, this is, this is, this is, this is an alcoholic beverage. – Okay, okay. All right. All right. Now we’re gonna need, this is where we need some specificity. – Is it whiskey? Is it vodka? It’s not vodka. Is it rum? Whiskey. – Okay. You are correct, but you’re not specific enough. – Uh, Jack Dan– – Not a brand. Not a brand. – Bourbon? – Yes. – Bourbon. B-b-b-b-b-b-bourbon. – Yes, it is a B. – Yes! Thank you. – Bourbon. – Eeuw. – Okay. – That was nasty, man. – There’s, I would say there’s something that is happening to you right now that makes this ironically complicated. – Okay. So it’s food and it’s not nasty? – I guess what I’m saying is you don’t even have to put your nose on the straws to guess this one. – I don’t even have to put my nose on the straws? – He don’t even have to put his nose on the straws to guess this one, ladies and gentlemen. – It’s ironic because I’m covered in egg. So is it a chicken? – So is it a chicken? – Oh, this is just egg. – Ding, ding, ding. – [Link] I do smell it, and it stinks. – All right, there you go, Link. Okay, hey, you’ve got, you know, basically you’re where I was in the last round. And remember you do have a lifeline. – Ah, so either the origin or use it in a sentence. Vobe, vobe, vobe is not a word. – Vobe is not a word. – Globe, tube, tube, could it be tube? Gabe? – Mr. Neal, we’re gonna need a guess. – Mabe? Can you use it in a sentence? – Mom and dad packed “blank” for their carnival cruise. – Mom and dad packed “blank” for their car… My word is lube. L U B E, lube. – [Rhett] Oh crap. – Carnival cruise! – Hold on, is this the kind of lube, is this warm lube? – [Link] I bet it’s not. – Go, it’s thick, oh. – Oh, it’s like the clear form of yolk. – All right. If y’all need to send me into a sewer to find something, I’ll just slip right in. – So what was the L? – [Rhett] Lychee. – Oh, lychee. Urinal cake? – Yeah, urinal cake. That was a tough one. Okay, well. – [Link] You look like you just came out of an alien. – Is it edible? – All right, Slick. You ready to smell at that? – Yes. – Before you do, I want to give you guys a quick promo. We’re gonna celebrate the Mythical Society anniversary, three years, y’all. – Yeah! – And we got a lot of promotions going on for that. All active members of the Mythical Society from February 1st through the 14th are eligible to be randomly selected for participation in a Good Mythical More. That’s right. You could be in a Good Mythical More, plus any third degree plan purchased during February will have the chance to be randomly selected for a virtual meet and greet with us. And we won’t have lube and yolk on us. – I don’t know. I might get used to this. – Or maybe we will, if that’s what you want. Visit http://www.mythicalsociety.com/anniversary for details. Meet and greet, be in a Good Mythical More. Whoo. – Yeah. Just, on your application, check with or without lube. Okay? – It’s not an application. – Yeah. Oh, it isn’t? You got some raw egg spots where your chin, your eggy chin hit this. – Why don’t you cover that up with lube? – Okay. I will. – [Link] You got some dangles that are disturbing on the side of your face. – I got lube dangles? – You got lube dangles. – That was my nickname in high school. Did you hear who Lube Dangles is going to the prom with? – Oh man. That could be the best one ever. – I let that one marinate for a second too, you know? – Speaking of marinate first, – That is awful. I believe that might be feces. Oh my goodness. – Yeah. Keep going in there for it. – I’m gonna say that is, uh– – It might start smelling better if you keep smelling it. – I’m gonna, I don’t know what you’re looking for. I’m just, I’m gonna start by saying feces. – Nope. It’s not feces. – It’s not a specific type of feces? – [Link] No. – Okay. Okay. Well, – Suck it up. – Whoa. This smells like the inside of an old box. It smells like this wood would smell. It has a slight floral smell too, at the same time. – I don’t think it does. – Like a mothball type thing. It has like a moth ballish quality to it. – Nope. – Baby. Is it something you put on a baby? – Go back, it, you know, it might be kinda like the inside of a box. – Newspaper. – No, no. He’s now in the third box, – Okay. – if you’re not watching. – Now we’re in the citrus fruits. Interestingly, I’m smelling grapefruit, but I don’t know if it’s because – I guessed grapefruit? – you guessed grape fruit earlier. Because it smells like an orange as well but like orange juice, like an Orange Julius. Like if I smell this, I would be like, oh are we walking by an Orange Julius? – Okay. – Now I’m losing it. – That’s right. Overthink it. That’s good. – Grapefruit. – Is that your final answer? – No. Yes. – What? Is it or is it not? – Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is, it is. – It is? – Yeah. – No, it’s not grapefruit. – So it’s an orange. – It’s not grapefruit. – Okay. Yeah, but it’s an orange. – It’s not grapefruit. – “O”. – He’s at the final box if you’re not watching. – Oh, hmm. Oh, okay. That’s kind of nice. This smells like it’s got some bread involved. The first thing that comes to mind is just pizza. I just smell pizza. Well, if I, I mean, if I guess pizza and it’s wrong, then I got nothing. But I think it’s pizza. – [Link] Put a P on the board. Come on in here. Take your best spell. – Well, I’m gonna need a, – This is your last one, and you do have a lifeline so, which one do you want? – I want a lifeline. – Which lifeline do you want? – Oh, okay. I can use either one? – Yeah. – I would like the origin of this word. – The origin of this word is Old McDonald’s farm. – Well, yeah, a farm is gonna have a lot of poop but you’ve also may say that it’s crap. But I think that that next to last one was “O”. My guess, I’m not confident in this, my guess is poop. P O O P, poop. – Nope. Do you wanna know what it is? – Yeah. – I think you should find out by having it dumped on you. Why don’t you dump some slop on this guy? – Slop! – Slop. – Argh. – It’s not poop. – Skunk, leather. Oh! – What is that? What is in that? Just a little bit of everything? – A little bit of everything. – Slop. So the “O”, it was right. Hmm, leather. – Leather. – Inside of a box. – You said sandalwood. So you, it’s closer with sandal than the wood part. – [Rhett] And what was the first one? – Skunk. – Is there a zoo nearby? Mr. Neal, you have an additional word to guess. No lifelines. – [Link] Nope. – Man, what is in this slop? I mean, I saw some beans. I think I smell some meat. Man, I’m smelling something woody. – [Rhett] Hmm, hmm. – It’s also fruity, fruity and woody, organic plantish, it’s plantish, I feel. – Wow. Plantish? – It almost goes citrus. – It’s elusive, isn’t it? – Man, I can get nothing. Am I in the right realm? – All right, you have, everything that you have said is what I would say an accurate description of this thing but you’re gonna have to formulate an actual specific guess. And that’s gonna be very difficult, I believe. – Subtle and natural, like a mushroom. I don’t know, I freaking don’t freaking know. – We’re gonna need a guess. – Uh, mango. – Ah, nope. – Crap. Moving on. – I think you’ll get this one. – Ooh yeah, vinegar. Vinegar. You like it when I do that? – Nope. I don’t. – Vinegar. – Can you be more specific? – Well, there’s apple cider vinegar and there’s white vinegar. – I’m gonna need a guess, brother. – But you would want me to guess apple vinegar? – The answer’s not vinegar. Like there’s not a V up here. – Apple cider vinegar. – [Rhett] That’s correct. – Yes! – [Rhett] Give him an “A”. – Whoo! – That was good. That was good. Thought you might go the balsamic route or the white vinegar route, but okay. – Ooh. Could be tasty, could be nasty. – Could be tasty, could be nasty. – Could be cheesy, could be meaty. Ooh, I’m getting hungry. This is good. This is food, could be a cheeseburger. It’s like Salisbury steak from like a frozen dinner. It’s got that like peppery, meaty gravy. – Earlier you said it’s meat and it’s cheesy. And you were on a, you were on a, I shouldn’t, this is the last round. I’ve already gotten all this crap on me. I probably shouldn’t give you this level of guidance at this point. – It doesn’t smell like a cheeseburger though. – Cause you’re gonna get the last one. – Cheeseburger. – It is a cheeseburger, but you have to tell me where it’s from. That’s what you’re guessing. – Why am I smelling gravy? Do you understand that? – I’m not commenting at all. – Whopper. – That is incorrect. You’re gonna need to move on to the last one but now at least you have something to go off of, right? So I believe you will get this one. – Soapy, smells like soap on a rope. Kind of smells like cologne for a granddad. Fabric softener. – Eh, no I’m gonna give you, okay. Here’s what I’m gonna say ‘cos you’ve only got one letter. It is organic. It’s something that maybe they would want a fabric softener to smell like potentially, but it’s an organic thing. – It’s a tree that grows fabric softener sheets. – The old fabrics softener tree. – Roses. – [Rhett] Yes, that is correct. – [Link] Thank you. – Okay. Now come over here. – I don’t, I should know what that is. It’s a burger and I don’t know the specific burger. Ba, bar. Buh, buh, E, A, ayer? And fake ayer, A, E, I, E, A, hair, is it air, is it A, I? But what, if it’s I, what type of burger starts with an “I”? Hair, H A I R, hair. – Dang it. – Is that it? – Yeah, it’s In, – What’s the “I”? – it’s In and Out. I said it was where the burger was from. – In and Out. – I didn’t, I wasn’t gonna correct you cause I didn’t wanna get hair poured on me. – Yes. – [David] Ready for some more hair? – Yeah. – Oh. – Ooh! – Why is it wet? Why is the hair wet? – Why is the hair wet? David, I think you need to, I think you need to deposit that hair on him, man. – [David] Oh, I don’t think so. – Come on back. – [David] Oh. – What is it, like? – It smells good. – There we go. You missed. – Whose hair is this? – [David] It’s all sorts of hair we found in a drain. – Okay, well, – We did? – this has been fun. – I’m just glad I spelled hair correctly. And you know what? You definitely earned the first shower. But you gotta do Good Mythical More first. – Okay. – Thank for subscribing and clicking that bell. – You know what time it is? – Hi, I’m Valerie and I’m in Cave Creek, Arizona. And these are my neighbors. And it’s time to spin the wheel of mythicality. – I thought that horse was gonna bite that woman. – Yes, right after that, she was completely eaten. – Click the top link to watch us debate stinky, would you rather scenarios and Good Mythical More? – And to find out where the wheel of mythicality is gonna land, – [Narrator] Any third degree plan purchase will have the chance to be randomly selected for a virtual meet and greet with us.
