Can you get a buzz without the booze? – Let’s talk about that. (cheerful music) Good Mythical Morning. – And happy Cinco de Mayo. Or as I like to call it, Drinko de Mayo, am I right? – Well, but with no Seis de Mayo hangover. That’s tomorrow. The sixth of May. – Oh. I took French. – Today we’re gonna see if we can get a buzz from a non-alcoholic beverage. – Yes, this brand, Sun Chaser, not a sponsor, claims to give you the same buzz that alcohol does. The marketing on the website says “Watch for warmth in your chest, a delightful head tingle that progresses through the body and an uplifting sense of ease.” – What? – We’re gonna feel that? – I don’t know. – I’d like to feel that all the time! – Let’s find out. We’re gonna be playing some drinking games to truly put this buzz claim to the test, along with these two! – Hey, it’s Stevie and Chase! – Here you go, guys. – Here, grab a drink. Do some square dancing. – So pop this puppy open. You ready to chase some sun? It’s got your name in it, Chase. – Let’s chug it. – We’re just adding to the experiment group here. – Let’s get buzzed! There’s always one friend that says that. – Ah! – [Chase] It’s not bad. – No, no. – [Link] Hibiscus Sunrise. – [Stevie] It tastes like a Gusher. – Okay. Ah… – Eh. You done? – Yeah. I think it went in my lungs. Aha, whoa. – You aspirated? – Hopefully. – No, you don’t want that. – No, no. Yeah, I mean, it kinda tastes like nothing. – You sounded like Grover. Did it change your voice? – Stevie, you still- – I’m still working on it, but I think it’s okay, ’cause I know that there’s some science behind this. – Go, Stevie! Go! – I’m going, I’m going. – Screw science, just drink it as fast as you can! – All we got is a title card after this. Come on, Stevie, finish it! Finish it. Finish it! You have to keep it up. – I can’t do that! – Just open your throat. “Ah.” – I don’t know how to do that. – You have to completely resist everything that’s happening in your body. – Swallow swallow in your throat throat. – Just resist everything! – It’s a little sweet to chug. – Mind over matter! ‘Ey, there we go. – Okay, she did it. – All right, it’s time for “Will These Booze Free Drinks Have Us Feeling Real Groovy? Or Are They More Disappointing Than John Travolta’s Last Ten Movies?” Okay. – Hey. – That… – We’re lounging over here now. – That title screen may have felt like a few seconds to you, but it felt about like 15 minutes or so to us, because we’ve been sitting here for 15 minutes letting our Sun Chasers take effect. – Okay, so Sun Chaser claims that people feel the intended effects of their drink within 15 to 30 minutes. Supposedly the buzz comes quickly, and is felt for about an hour and then it gently winds down. – How you guys feeling? – So weird. (Rhett guffaws) Seriously, like, and it hit like… – I saw when it hit you, ’cause it was hitting me at the same time, ’cause I sat back. – Yes, it was that, I was like “Oh, this is uncomfortable” and I adjusted. – I was like “She’s feeling what I’m feeling.” – No, like my whole body, like do your legs feel, like my body feels weird. – [Link] Tingles in your head? – I was getting tingles, and then it just started to come out through the rest of my body. – Warmth in your chest? – Yes. – A growing sense of ease? – Warmth in my thighs. – I’ve got a growing sense of ease, is the main thing. – [Stevie] Do you not feel it? – I don’t wanna feel your thighs. (Rhett laughs) – But do you feel it at all? – Yeah, I feel like my mouth is watering. – When you said that, my mouth straight away… – I mean, of course my mouth is watering. – Behind my ears, I feel a little bit of a tingle. I mean, do we even wanna play a drinking game, or you just wanna sit here and talk? Let’s just chill out. – [Stevie] It feels very odd. – I could put on some music. – Like isn’t it an odd sensation, though? Because it’s not, it doesn’t feel like an alcohol buzz necessarily, it feels like a body buzz, like it feels like I don’t have that sense of ease yet, because my body’s going “What is happening right now?” – For me it’s something right here. But let’s play a drinking game. – Okay, we’re gonna watch David Hill try to build a house of cards. Every time he drops the cards, we gotta drink. – All right. Hit it! Okay. Oh, it’s in fast motion? (silly brass music) Did he fall? I wasn’t watching. – He fell. – Oh, he did? – He did again. Mm-hm. – He can’t, okay, he’s off to- – Oh, he did it. – I love this music. This is really relaxing music. – Seems like he’s doing this on purpose. – Come on, David Hill. Oh, he’s… – He’s figuring it out. He’s got a method. – Why is he going in that direction? Is that how you do this? – Okay. – Oh, that fell. Drink! – Oh, that’s double drink. – Double drink? Now there’s no caffeine or alcohol in this. You know there’s no alcohol, but… – Boy, David Hill having such a tough time. – Not making a lot of progress. But we are! Was that another drink? – Sure. – I’m glad his job is not resident house of cards builder. – Drink! – He’s so loud! – Drink. Drink. I think that was another drink in there. Oh, drink. – Okay. Me and Chase are done. – What? (Rhett guffaws) – The black tee shirts over here, I still got half a can for some reason. – Me too. – Yeah, ’cause you’ve been talking. I’ve been drinking. – Drink. – Oh! Oh, okay, David Hill, you cheated. – All right, it says to only drink, “Do not consume more than two servings in 24 hours. Keep out of reach of children.” – Done and done. – We’ve already, I’m looking at you, Chase. I didn’t keep it out of his reach. – I’m an adult. – But you’ve had two total, so now, for the rest of the drinking games, we’re gonna keep chasing the sun, and you guys are gonna have to switch over to something else, ’cause we wanna follow the instructions here. How are we feeling? – I really don’t wanna do anything. – Yes! Yeah! – That’s like, I don’t want… – Well that’s a sense of ease. – I don’t want to do anything. Do we have to do the rest of this episode? – Yeah, yeah. No? No? – I feel like I could drive a golf cart. – I feel a little… I mean, I feel wired, I actually don’t feel… – [Rhett] No, see, I don’t feel any wiredness. – I don’t feel weird. Weird, reirow. – [Rhett] “I don’t feel weird or wired.” – I think it’s interacting with my other drugs. (Chase and Stevie laugh) – Oh, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. I just got a real big rush of the tingle and the warmth. – I think it’s ’cause you chugged that other one. – Whoahohoho! – Let’s play another drinking game, me and Stevie gotta catch up. – Okay. I’m feeling great. We’re feeling good on this couch. – I’m so tingly! – I’m feeling a little lightheaded, and then you’re grinning. – Don’t pat, you’re giving me anxiety by breathing in the way that you’re breathing. – [Rhett] Are you okay? – Yeah, I’m fine, I’m cool. – Okay, we’re gonna play the alphabet game. This is very simple, we take turns reciting words that begin with each letter of the alphabet, so if you said a A word, I would have to say a B word, C word, D word. – That sounds so hard, already! – Don’t say the C word, okay? – My body just got warm everywhere. Like, it’s just like I had a… It’s like I peed myself on the inside. – Yeah, that’s what happened, urine gets released. – You know how when you pee your pants, and it feels like it soaks your pants? – Your thighs, right? Your thighs are tingling. – Yeah, on the inside. – I’m tingling so hard, right here, like right, I didn’t even know this was a body part. – Listen, I don’t mean to be a buzzkill, but if you’re interested in how much these things cost, a pack of eight costs $50. – It might be worth it. So we’re gonna pick these cards up, and it’ll be a certain theme. You have to do it to a certain theme, and if you get it wrong, y’all gotta take a sip of your Sun Chasers, we gotta take a sip of pickle juice because we’re Sun Chased all the way. We chased the sun to the limit. – [Link] All right. – Reasons to call 911. – “Sun Chaser’s buzz will peak at the feeling of a single serving of alcohol. The buzz will not build on itself after two servings, making it a fully manageable experience. In other words, Sun Chaser will not get you drunk if you chug five of them in one sitting, and in case you’re wondering, we don’t recommend that.” That’s off of their website. Things that will what? – Call 911. – [Rhett] Reasons to call 911. – And you gave me that entire time period to think, and all I have is ants. (Rhett and Chase laugh) – We got ants, and there’s a lot of ’em! – So many ants. – That’ll work. I mean, enough ants? – Yeah! You might need help. – Fire ants. My granddad got attacked by fire ants. – [Stevie] And it hurts. – Bees. Like, a lot of… – Oh, really? Now you gotta drink, man, you just can’t say- – It’s better than ants! – You could need an EpiPen. – Catching a knife. (Stevie laughs) – D, why am I always the one getting a D? (all but Link laugh) Daring people. (Chase laughs) – Emergencies. Oh, yeah. – Falling. – “Falling.” – Getting hurt. (laughs) – Having a baby! – [Rhett] Oh, hey! – In an elevator. – Oh, no, I didn’t think I was gonna have to go. After you. I? – [Rhett] Uh-huh. – I hurt myself, and I’m calling 911. – Okay, so it’s like a role play. – [Stevie] Yeah. – Just fooling around. – No! No, no. – That’s not a good reason to call 911. – You gotta take another pickle shot, man. – Okay, all right, here we go. Next theme. Bad habits. I’ll start. Always… Being late. – Bitching and moaning. – Cicada collecting. – Oh, that’s an insult to somebody out there. – That’s cool. Why is that bad? Drink! – [Rhett] You can’t be the judge! – Who is the judge? – [Rhett] She’s the judge of her own self. – I’m usually the judge. – Cicada collecting? – And I’ll drink. – [Rhett] D. – Dip. – Oh, that’s, yep, dip. That kind of dip. – What is it? – Bad habits. Eating boogers. – Farting on people. (Rhett laughs) – Yeah, man, that’s a bad habit. “I just can’t stop! I just can’t stop.” – Are your calves itching? Why are my calves itching? – Getting drunk. – Getting drunk is a bad habit. – That’s a bad habit. Humping furniture. (Rhett and Link laugh) That’s not a good habit. – Investigating… Your neighbors. I’m tired. – Jacking… Cars. (Rhett and Link chuckle) – Kicking babies. – Oh! – Licking poles. (Stevie laughs) – Making love. – That’s not a bad habit, take a drink! Things you shouldn’t lick! What the crap? – Poles! – What the crap? Poles! – Let’s start with a Z and go backwards. – Oh! Yeah. – I’m drunk now. – So we’re starting with you. You’re not drunk, you’re Sun Chased. – Yeah, but I feel like I’m getting energized now. – Okay. Z. – [Rhett] Zebras. – And what was the assignment? I have no short term memory. – Don’t lick ’em. – Things you shouldn’t lick. Yellow snow. – Oh! That’s good. – Xylophones. I mean, what else could I say? – Watermelons. – Nope. You like pickle juice? – It’s not bad. – [Link] All right, keep going. – [Rhett] Very hot things. – Underwear. – Mm-hm. – Toots. – Don’t lemme catch you licking a toot. – Streets. – Refried beans. – Nope! Nope, nope, nope. Okay, so how are we feeling at this point? Are we starting to mellow out? – Yeah, it’s a mellow time. – I’m a little more used to the feeling now. – Let’s play a game to bring up the energy. All right, we’re gonna play Most Likely, we’re gonna reach into this thing and we’re gonna point at the person who we think is most likely to the thing, and then they have to drink the stuff, here we go. Who’s most likely to lose their temper during a game? Three, two, one. (Stevie chuckles) That’s you. – Who is most likely to have a weird collection of something? Three, two, one. – Cicadas? So you think Stevie, Rhett thinks me, and I think me, so I have to… – “Most likely to indirectly insult someone’s outfit.” Three, two, one. (chuckles) – Or their toupee. – Yeah. – Or anything about them. I always mean well. – “Most likely to fall asleep on the toilet.” Three, two, one. – Oh! – I’m pointing at Chase, so this is a tie, both of you guys have to drink. Why do you, have you fallen asleep on the toilet? – My legs have. I mean, a couple of times I’ll get up and I’ll be “Oh, crap, I done it again!” I almost fell into the bathtub one time. ‘Cause my leg fall asleep. – How high does it go, and can you feel the poop coming out? – My butthole doesn’t go to sleep. – [Stevie] What? – How high does the numbness go? – [Rhett] The numbness starts- – Does it go to the butthole? – No, it’s right here, it hits where the rim of the toilet hits, and so that all falls asleep. – “Can you feel the poop coming out?” – Yeah, if the butthole fell asleep, that’d be a bigger problem. “Most likely to admit their darkest secret when drunk.” Three, two, one. – Oh. So, you think me, I think me. You think Chase. – I went with Chase. And Chase went with himself. – I was a weepy drunk for a while. For about a year. – So you and I have to drink again. That was mine. – I watched that journey. – I was trying to hand him that, but I handed… – Yeah, it’s like man, y’all had too much Sun Chasers. – Oh my gosh, the number of glasses of pickle juice. Are you feeling okay? – “Most likely to get arrested for urinating in public.” – Three, two, one. – Okay. All right. So you think… Speaking of which. – I haven’t had a single pickle shot. – [Rhett] Okay, well how ’bout now? “Most likely”- – We don’t think you’re most likely to do much. – Yeah. – “Most likely to clog the toilet.” Three, two, one. (Rhett, Link and crew laugh) – [Stevie] I asked for it. – Well lemme tell you, when your legs fall asleep and you clog the toilet? You get up and you try to find a plunger, and you can’t go nowhere? I tell you right now, that’s a bad situation. And finally. – This is getting tough. – “Most likely to join a cult.” – Three, two, one. – Three, two, one. – You two have to drink. – I’m not gonna join one, I’ll lead one. But I’m not joining. – Well we pointed at you, you gotta drink. – [Rhett] I’ll be in charge. – All right, how are we feeling at this point? We’ve basically forgotten that the point of this episode is to assess how these Sun Chasers are making us feel. – We’re coming down. I think we’re coming down, right? – Yeah. – It’s leveled out a little bit. – It has leveled out, for sure. – There was a peak, and then it subsided. – The tingles aren’t coming as strong. – Yeah, the tingles are not overwhelming at this point, and now I’m just kinda feeling, “Hey, I’m in a good mood, like what do you guys wanna do later?” – I kinda wanna take a nap. – Before we play our last drinking game, we wanna remind you that we’ve got some archived merch that we’re bringing back for a limited time, and for a discount, over at the last chance section at the Mythical store, so head over to Mythical.com, now available through May eighth. – Okay. All right, now, Sun Chasers say that it can make you drowsy, are you guys starting to feel drowsy? – I am so tired. – Yeah, I was starting to yawn as they were setting this up, they say don’t drive a car or operate heavy machinery. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t pin muffins on two studs! – [Stevie] Heck yeah! – Look at these two studs. That’s exactly really us. – I remember, that was a long day, posing for that. – [Stevie] And you’re always gripping your back of head and your chin in that particular way. – I’m about to snap my own neck, with my muscles. We have the exact same body, Rhett. Okay, so what we’re gonna do in order to check our coordination, is we’re gonna be blindfolded. Pin the tail on the donkey, pin the muffin on the stud. And you know where the muffin goes. – Yep. (Chase and Stevie laugh) – [Link] You know the muffin man? – [Rhett] The things that needs to be muffled. – Okay, so I have my muffin sticker. – I’ve got mine. Now we gotta do a little spinny spin. – ‘Kay, we’ll go one, two, three, four, go. – [Chase] We were spinning slower. – [Link] Oh my gosh, I’m feeling nauseous. I don’t know if it’s the Sun Chaser… – [Rhett] Whoa! (Chase and Stevie laugh) I have no idea what… – Come to the sound of my laugh. Good job, good job. – Okay. I don’t know, I could’ve taken it off. – You did a better job. – To the left! – Oh, I went to… I’m just totally on the wrong board. (Stevie laughs) Oh, wow, Rhett, take a look. And look, I pinned my muffin on your stud. – Well thank you. Thank you for that. – How did that happen? – Well at first Rhett was over at the couch area. – Do you have your own thing? – I don’t have my own blindfold, yeah, thank you. – All right. I feel bad, but I think it’s the pickle juice. Here we go. – [Stevie] I’m wearing heels. – Rotate, one. – One. Two. Three. – Two. – Four. – What? That’s only two? – Three. – And six, go Chase, go! – All right, go. – Oh my god. – I don’t feel anything more than regular dizzy. Are you okay? – I hate it so much! Link, why are you still touching me? – ‘Cause you were going the wrong way. – This way, Stevie, this way, follow my voice. – [Stevie] I don’t trust anyone! I’m so turned around, now. – [Link] This way. – There you go, follow my voice. – I’m just gonna stand here, we’re gonna have to end the episode with me standing wherever I am. – Just go on your instincts. – Chase! – Yeah? – [Stevie] Where are you? – I already did mine. – [Stevie] I trust you! Help me! – ‘Kay, you’re good, just go forward. – [Stevie] Oh! – “Oh!” – [Link] Just pin your muffin on the stud! – [Stevie] Oh. – “Oh.” Everybody did right thigh. – [Link] Look at that. – [Rhett] Why do we all think that somebody’s crotch is on their right thigh? – Was it the Sun Chaser that made us more confused, though? I mean, in the end, do you think… Maybe let’s leave price out of it, just experience-wise. Yes or no? – I can operate heavy machinery. Is that the question? – Do you wanna chase the sun again? – I think I would do this again, but I think honestly I might just do it before I go to bed. – Yeah, I would say, there’s a peak, if you chug, there’s that peak, and your whole body is like “What is happening?” And then after that, you just start to feel really tired. – Yeah, it’s pretty quick, that peak, too, so. It would be a good thing to do just for a couple minutes, and then head to bed while you’re in that nice relaxed area. – Really? I would probably do it and then just lay in the pool. – If I could have an espresso shot to follow it up. – Well, we learned something. Now we’re gonna take a nap. Thanks for subscribing and clicking that bell. – Let’s all say- – [All] You know what time it is! – Oh, hi. My name is Julie from Pittsburgh, California. And you’re in my refrigerator. But I turned 21 today, and it’s time to spin the Wheel of Mythicality. – She was stocked up, look at… – She was ready for that. – Look at the door of the refrigerator. – Click the top link to see if we can pass a bartender’s quiz in Good Mythical More. – And to find out where the Wheel of Mythicality’s gonna land. – [Rhett] Last chance.
