Where are these international cakes from? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. It is time for us to have our cake and throw darts about it too, to guests where they're from. Piece of cake. It's time for Where In The World Do These International Cakes Come From? Okay, boys, to guess where each cake is from, you'll throw your darts at the map and Chase the Red Velvet Cartographer will measure your darts to determine your points. Oh. What's up boys? Is that marshmallow? I'm going out on a limb and saying it's not chalk. It's actually like a pretty tasty fruitcake. It tastes like candy and coconut. Hmm. But, those pink and yellow things are, they're like circus peanut consistency. In some places on earth, they'll make a cake that's supposed to be like something, supposed to represent something. Hmm. What would that represent to you? A loaf of bread. Cake bread. What do you think it is? I don't know, I'm just seeing where your mind goes. It's like if you dropped a wet log on. It is heavy. Um, I don't know, some illicit drugs. Okay, Chase. I'd advise you to move away 'cause I'm gonna throw quickly. You got it, boss. No, uh, good distribution on the map today, you see. Very wide, we got all the hemispheres. Canada, Ireland, Morocco, Germany. It's the most evenly distributed, even got New Zealand down there. I do not like this. I don't like those like. Surprise, surprise. Circus peanut esque marshmallows, and I don't like coconut. I think just based on looks alone, this is something that I wouldn't be surprised to see in Germany. That, something about the brownness within the colors and the, I don't know, it's like, you know how they have toys, they have a little German toys. Tell us bit more about that. It seems like a food toy, so my instincts are. When have you seen little German toys? Little German food toys. Gimme one example of that. Uh, well, I Google that a lot. Okay. I don't believe you. Oh, that's high. But I, but I do believe you're aiming for the right country, my friend. Of all the places, none of 'em are up there. I mean, Germany's the best guess that I got too. You think it's Germany? Why? 'cause it's a fruitcake. Oh. Fruitcakes, fruitcake seems very European, doesn't it? That's where I always thought it was like a European thing. I mean, you could go, uh, you could go for Ireland, it could be Moroccan. Just because fruitcake is like an old school thing that you have at Christmas in the US, a lot of those old world things we got from. Germany. The European people, you know. So, I mean, it could be Irish too, but. I went to Ireland once and I didn't have this. There's not a speck of green on that. Right. So I think I'm just gonna try to get closer to Germany. That should be easy. Okay, well I kind of didn't. Little east. You just had lolly cake. This cake only has five ingredients, condensed milk, coconut, malt biscuits, butter, and lollies, and it's eaten at many kids' birthday parties in New Zealand. What we're so far. I, we don't there, how could we know that? What is a lolly? Like a a, um, now I'm forgetting the word we used for it, a sucker, uh. Oh, a lollipop. Is it, is that. Yeah, lollipop. That's the word. I think it, you know how Petri dishes have that, um. Yeah, here we go. That layer at the bottom of agar or whatever it's called. You're gonna say something that makes us not think it's good. Think about if you just stacked a bunch of those. Yeah. You're leaving the biological lab. It tastes like a byproduct. And then you just say, all right, now this is a dessert. It's got the color of when we did, uh, like jellyfish jello, I think. Yeah. Like that's exactly. Smoother. What it ended up looking. You're not smooth enough. It's got the color of. There you go. Jellyfish jello. Yeah. There you go. When we did that back in day. Red velvet. Mm-hmm. Uh, I don't like it. I'm losing. I wanted to love it. You go first. The only thing I'm going off on here, going on, going off of, off of are the two prepositions that I wanted to put together in that sentence, is the sesame seeds, which take me to China. I've never been to China, but something tells me that I might see this in China. Now there's a bunch of Armenian restaurants in, uh, this part of Los Angeles, and I frequent many of them, and I've never seen this. You see the baklava, but you don't see brown gel. It's like, it is like jelly baklava. So I think I'm going to split the difference between Armenia and China and then see what you do. A little bit of a bundt. Mm-hmm. Oh, I'm just gonna hit China. There are many different versions of this cake in other Asian countries, but the specific version uses tapioca flour and is a regional cake from Taishan, which is a city in Southern China. Zero. So these are like french fries. No. I know, but like they're cut like french fries. It's Jenga. And then that one, it's latticed system. That's why it's so indestructible. It's so thick. I love it. The sprinkles are unnecessary, because this is not for a child. I mean. This takes, this takes time to make. You wanna give this to a child, like give this instead of an iPad to a child, you know, to keep 'em occupied for an entire dinner. Like it would work. Like putting a dog food into a puzzle.
