What does it feel like to give birth? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. Before we get started, I just wanna get this out of the way. I do not, and have never had a pregnancy fetish. I am just fascinated by the miracle of life. Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. But as fathers, we've been able to experience birth from a safe, painless distance. Yeah. And we thought it was high time that we experienced a little bit of what our wives, mothers, friends, employees have gone through. Or at least the crew thought it was time. We are reluctant. Yes we are. And you know who might be the perfect person to finally return from her maternity leave and guide us through all this? Mm-hmm. Mythical Chef Nicole. Come on out, Nicole. Welcome back. This is literally your first day back. It is, yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. Mama. Thanks so much. So how was pregnancy and the birth. Pregnancy was awesome, I didn't have a lot of symptoms. It was pretty easy. Um, giving birth was absolutely terrible. That was the worst. Okay. Okay. But you've got a beautiful Eve to show for it. That's very true, yes. Let's see her. Oh my goodness. Is your baby Baby of the Year? Yes. Time Magazine. She really is. Oh my goodness. That's mine, guys. Wow. Isn't that so crazy, that's mine! That is amazing. So it's all worth it. Oh, a hundred percent. I would do it all over again. Oh, I, you know, I'm just so happy for you that, that isn't that good enough? No. I'm scared for me. You're gonna do fine. I'm sure you're gonna do really, really good. Let's find out. Gentlemen, you are both glowing. Yes. Thank you. And, uh, we are both, I'm having trouble breathing in this thing. Yep, already. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're looking pretty perky though. I will say that. Oh yeah. I'm, I, I know where to go because I just. Well. You guys are both wearing something called the Empathy Belly. Yeah. It's a weighted suit that stimulates pregnancy symptoms like awkward body movements, increased body temperature, pressure on your bladder, internal organs. I feel that. And shortness of breath. Shortness of breath. Check. I'm getting that. Yeah, it's tight. It's heavy. We have a, uh, like 35 pounds of. Right. Total weight. Additional weight. And there's like, the inside of this thing is got, like water in it, and then a weight that kind of moves around, so. Mm-hmm. It's like the baby kind of moves around. They can like swim around. Feel the limb hitting on his side. I can hear that, yes. Yeah. Oh listen. Yours is really wet. I got a juicy baby, man. Just like a baby. Alright, so first step. Oh gosh. You guys. I have to pee! Not yet. It's smushy. It's smushing in the bladder. First step, you guys are gonna learn what it's like to do everyday activities when you're pregnant. Let's start Link with getting out of bed. Okay. Well let's start with getting in bed. I believe in you. Yeah, um, the price of empathy. Not cheap. I agree. This thing right here costs over a thousand dollars. What am I doing? Yeah. Ugh. Yeah. Ugh. Okay. Getting in was one thing, cover up, boy. Okay. Oh, oh man. No way. Oh, there's no way you're a back sleeper. Ah. How does it feel? Uh, well, I'm, I'm currently pooping myself. Can you scooch down a little bit so your head is on the pillow. Can you scoot yourself down, scoot yourself down. Uhhuh. Uhhuh. You, you never lay on your back. Right? It's always on, you can't do that. You can lay on your back a little bit. Smooshing. But side is preferable. But it smooshes everything. You guys couldn't get him a pregnancy pillow. He's suffering. That's a thing? Yeah. Oh, pregnancy pillows are the bomb. Oh, okay. Oh yeah, okay. That's better. Now, this is how I'm gonna sleep. Where do you put your hands, when you. Um, wherever you feel comfortable. I'm tending to just do the, to rest them right here. Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Yeah. It's just like, I mean, is that what you do? I, I like to, whenever I was pregnant, I like to do it a lot on my, on my tummy right here. Okay, so then can I get up? My alarm clock goes off. Oh, bright and early. Here I go again with another day. Okay, so I would lift myself up and I would do this. Ugh. And now, did you experience your belly smooshing your twig and berries every time you sat up? Um, not my twig and berries. Oh, okay. I'm up. There is a weight right here. An extra little weight. Yeah. That pushes right on your bladder. 'cause I apparently that's what the babies do. They push on the bladder. Yeah, they do. They like to dance on it. Now you need to get up. Okay. Yeah. Good morning sunshine. Now I, I would push yourself up with your hands. Oh, you're doing that? Wow. You ever see any pregnant lady do that? Nope. That's called the rolled dismount. This is when you don't have to worry about the safety of the. Exactly. Of the, of the, uh, cargo. How was that? How did that feel for the two of you? Exhausting. I feel like I've already done leg day. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. You know, just like walking out here and walking around. All right. Uh, I see you, you've brought a toilet. Yes, I have. Um, so why don't one of you, how about Link, you go first. How about you go to the bathroom and give yourself a wipe? All right. So I would just zuck. No, no, sit on the toilet. We're gonna sit on the toilet. All right, so. I, I'm just gonna act like I'm pulling my mm-hmm. My pants down. Very good. And then. Don't deposit anything in that toilet, it's just sitting on the floor. Would you hover. No, no, no. I'm just going slow. You don't strike me as a hoverer, you know? Okay. Okay. Then I just release the bowels. Sure. Let's say I've done that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. And then, wipe. I hate these things. Well, this is single ply. Front to back. Oh, really? So I've gotta get, I've gotta slide up on the, I've gotta create a hole. What are you doing? What is he doing? What. Are you doing... You said front. No, I mean. Front to back. Move from front to back. But yeah, you go to the back. But this, I didn't know, I've never been pregnant. You can do that. You don't put it in and push. Wow. Pushing all the way, oh. I'm wiping my butt. This is wrong. Right. I was not expecting that at all. This is wrong. I thought that's what you told me to do. Alright, lemme try again. From the back, front to back. From the back, front to back. Front to back. Right, right, right, right, right. I'm reaching really deep and then I'm pulling it back. Pulling it back. They, look at, look at, he's doing a great job. Looking at it. A great job wiping. Good, good. That you look uhhuh. Great. I usually, when I look at it, I get rid of it and get some more, but. Uhhuh. That's not. That's what I'm saying. This is not, this is not a crapping simulator. Yeah. This isn't how you wipe. Yeah. I'm sweating. You don't need to share all your secrets. I'm sweating a lot. I know you do sweat a lot whenever you're pregnant. But then the getting up, I think the way that I get up is by. Wow. Oh yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. That's a long ways down there. Yeah. I mean, honestly, I'm tempted to just upper decker. No, you can't do that, no. Because that would be, you know, after a, after a couple of weeks, Jessie might notice. So go ahead and sit on your throne. How, how was this for you? I was, I was okay. It wasn't, it wasn't too challenging. I also have scoliosis, so like that was an added, you know. Oh, really. Crappy part about being pregnant with the scoliosis. Don't worry about the paper, just pretend your hand's paper. That, the easy part was getting the toilet paper. That's all I'm saying. Front to back. How did you even? I mean, you're so big. There's no, there's no hole. There's no access. I'm in, I'm in. I'm having to. He's in. In between the cheeks. You don't. Stop that. You guys don't smell it, do you? Yeah. That's crazy. Not usually. Okay, and then I'm all cleaned up and then you just gotta use your weight. Oh. This right here. I, that's what I would do. Is that what you. So you just directly go up like this? Use the front of the toilet to. Oh, hinge a little bit, you know. Whew. Come over. Walk behind the toilet. Walk into the wall. I mean, I feel like we got this on lock. You guys did, you guys did great. That, that portion. Sometimes when I walk my dogs, I wear a weighted vest. Do you? Yep. Are you kidding? Is it like all over? Is it like weighted in the back and in the front and all over? Or is it like. It doesn't make me need to pee, if that's what you're asking. Okay. Okay, now you guys are gonna do what every pregnant woman loves to do. Shave your legs. I mean that, do I, are we we're sharing a razor? Yeah. Yeah. We're sharing a razor. A fake razor. All right, one stroke for you. One stroke for me. I mean. I can, the lower back pain is, uh, is is real. It is, it is. It's pretty gnarly. Definitely. I did get a little, here. Oh yeah, look at that. The, I mean, shaving your legs while pregnant. Not needed. It just feels like this is something that you just let go of. Not necessary. Never, never. No. Not necessary. It's not necessary unless. You go gorilla. Yeah. Yeah. Or you do laser hair removal like I do. Yeah, okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, it's good. We're all septic. It's good. All right. Get rid of that. Forget that ever happened. That wasn't easy. Okay. But again, remove that, all men should not require any women to do anything that they don't want to do while pregnant. And we don't want to shave our legs, right. Yeah. It's up to you. It's up to you. There we go. What's the next challenge? Alright, so next is. We're doing pretty good, I feel like. This is my, this was one of my least favorite things to do, um, put on pants, socks, and shoes. Oh. Yeah. What is this? Oh. Those are culottes. You've never worn a culotte before? Lemme get next to you here. Okay. Move that over. That may have been a mistake. It's like looking into a mirror, I swear. I'm, I'm, I am getting grumpy. How does your head feel? Light. Yeah. Unnecessary. Why is it called a culotte? I have no idea. Oh God. Hold on. I mean. What. The fact that I've been nursing, um, a lower back injury for, like, a number of weeks now. Right. I do feel like I've been preparing for this, like I haven't been able to put my pants on for, for weeks standing. Mm-hmm. So. Ugh. So here I am. Put it over your belly. Oh yeah. Look at that. That's pretty, though. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Some, some people do over the belly. Some people do under the belly. It depends. It depends on your vibe. I, I like over the belly. Yeah, too. I like the smoothness of that. That feels good. Okay, now, it's time to put on shoes and lace them up. Can you grab those? You want me to grab those for you, honey? Sure. Hey, see. If you need help, just get, just ask for it. Always ask for help. Okay. How did you get those on? You didn't ask for? I just put my foot into 'em, I didn't wanna, oh God. Oh, and then I, I try to pull it up here. Wow Link, you're really mobile. Okay. You know, while we're putting these pants on. Oh God. And these shoes on. It's probably a good time to let you know that, you know. Oh God. Yeah, it's a good time to talk. We spent some time with our wives, eating some of the pregnancy cravings that they had during their pregnancies. We made those into a couple of vlogs that you can go over to the Mythical Society and watch. What were your pregnancy cravings? Um, I really liked chocolate with corn flakes in it and Vegemite on Butter Toast. Oh, interesting. Yeah. Yeah, so, uh, we, we quizzed Christy and Jessie on that, and we ate those, in order to get more into the mode. So check it out MythicalSociety.com. Okay. I'm ready to face the day. And I know why they, I know why they do this now, why they stand like this. Does that make sense when you walk like this? Because you're like, this is the part, it just, you just need something. You just need something to just kind of counterweight. Because you're leaning back and. You're just at the soccer game, just yelling at people. Oh God, Lord. Oh, oh, my water broke. My water broke. No. Ew. Yeah. Mostly, mostly on the right leg. Mostly on, mostly on the right leg. It's going. It's going. It's going. Oh, it's going down in my pants. It's going down in my sock. Mine too. Well, we, we need to be rushed to the delivery room. Mazel tov, boys. You're about to be fathers. Oh, great. While the average labor for first time pregnancy is 12 to 24 hours, we're gonna speed things up a bit. All right. And I'm sorry it's too late to get an epidural. No. That's what happened to my wife. This is a TENS machine, also known as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. It's normally used in physical therapy for pain relief, but. Mm-hmm. We can also simulate contractions. Pain not relief. Yeah, exactly. Okay. Okay. Also, I dunno if you guys know this or not. Um, I actually didn't have any contractions. I was induced and then I had to have an emergency c-section and then, um, they nicked a vein and then I lost about two liters of blood and I needed all, a blood transfusion, but I didn't get one. And um. Oh no. And I'm here and I'm alive to tell the tale. Oh, oh. Oh God. That's not gonna happen to us right now though, right. No. Let's start off slow. Okay. All that being said, I want to go vaginal today. Okay. Nurse practitioner Chase, let's start off slow, okay. All right. Ready? Yeah. Go. Oh, it's starting. Okay. Okay. Mostly on the left side and now on the right side. Okay. Whew. Okay. So this will last. It's not nothing. Yeah. So this will last anywhere from 30 to 90 seconds. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So wait, I'm, I'm experiencing tightness in the abdomen. Yeah. Mm-hmm. It's just like a crazy crunch. Ah. I'm trying to breathe through it because I know that that's what you do. Okay. How was that? Alright. Okay. Okay. Well, I didn't like it. That was okay though. Yeah, but you're gonna have a baby afterwards. It's awesome. I'm just saying it was, it was like a bean was trying to scratch out from the inside. Yeah. Very alien like, now. All right. We going up one? Yeah. Yeah. Let's go up one. Whoa. Just breathe through it, breathe through it. You wanna hold my hand? Not yet. Okay. You can hold my hand if you need. Oh man, it's roiling. You can hold my hand if you need. It's royally. You thought about names? Alright. Wow. Okay. Oh. Oh, that was it. How was that one? Alright. Uh, I'm okay. It was worse. I know, honey. It's okay. I'm sweating a little bit. It's okay. Uh, Christy was a similar situation. Oh yeah. With, uh, Lily, our, our first. Uhhuh. To be induced and then, uh, she never came, and then, oh, hey. Okay. Oh, hey, hey, hey. I guess that's how it works. You don't get a warning. Then breathe through it, breathe through it. And then they. Breathe through it. Breathe through it, babe, breathe through it. And then they used it, some sort of a knife. I'm right here. I'm right here. Jessie was screaming like she was about to get hit by a vehicle. I feel like I'm mastering this. Okay, how much more. How high, much higher can it go? Woo. Uh, I'm feeling lightheaded though. You're about halfway through what it can do. What? Okay. Crapola, dude. Okay. You doing okay? Ah. I mean. Getting warm. Not especially, I wouldn't say it's okay. Do you want me to play some Enya? Just remember, is that what you did? No. I need, I got need. I'm squeezing my stress balls. Do what you gotta do to get through it. I feel like I'm gonna pee or poop. Yeah. Oh, here it comes again. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. No. I just, I just tooted. Relax your pelvic floor. Relax your pelvic floor. Relax your pelvic floor. I think he's doing the opposite. Relax your pelvic floor. Why aren't you breathing? I can't. Keep going, keep going. Keep going. All right. Oh, it's so worth it because af, after this, I'm gonna have a baby to hold and to love and no, I'm not, I'm not gonna have anything. I mean, the thing is, with nine months, I'm gonna have to, I'm gonna have to deliver this baby on the next one. Okay. After, not yet, not yet. After, after nine months, you're fed up with this and you're like, you're waiting for it to be gone. Yeah, we don't need to deliberate. And to get out. Oh, yeah, comes again. Ah, ah. If I faint, will I just faint in place? Hey, we got this, man. We got this. I gotta deliver this baby. We got this, for all the women out there. The baby's gotta come. Looks beautiful, you've never looked more beautiful. Here it comes. No, no, not yet. Not yet. No, no, no, no. We, no, we can do more. We can do more do. We can do more. We can do more. We could go more. We could do more. Baby's coming out. We can do more. I think we could do more. I think I can do, I can do more. I wanna go higher. I wanna go higher. Should be higher. Should be higher. Should be higher. Shut it off. Shut it off. Okay, I'm gonna name, I'm gonna name my baby, April Fools, my thing wasn't even on. My cardiologist said I probably shouldn't do this, so I didn't. You kidding me? Are you serious? Are you freaking kidding me? Oh my God. Oh my, I'm gonna throw my mucus plug in your mouth. Oh. Yeah, he said. Dude. I, I just said, what do you think about a TENS unit on the, on the torso? A lower torso? He says, I don't think I would advise that. Oh my God. Not yet, so, I just said, okay, I'll let Link do it. And he said, okay, that's fine. It was the, I got, I got a one-eyed baby. Dude, you coward. You medically induced coward. I'm just, I'm just following doctor's orders, man. I was like, man, I know. I know he, maybe he has a higher pain tolerance and you turn it up more. He said to turn it up more. Yeah. I said, keep going. Oh my God. I was like, we can do, we can do this. You stinker, you royal of emphatically, stinker of a stinker. And you knew this. Yeah. Hey, this wasn't the plan until I was just, you know, he was like, you know, you're doing great. I'm not, but I just, you know, every precaution, you know. And beforehand I'm like, well, it is not gonna hurt that bad. He was like, no, it's actually gonna feel decent. No. I said, it'll feel good after. Oh man. How does it feel now? I am relieved that it's over. I mean, it was it, the pain went all the way to the roots. Like I could, like the roots of where babies are made. Did you see I had a baby you? Yeah, I did. You had a baby me, I think. Well, Nicole, how do you, I mean, do you have, say something about how you have respect for me as a, as a, as a mother and a woman and a, and all that. Do I have to? No, you don't. We're so glad to have you back. I'm glad to be back. Lots of respect to all the moms out there. Oh my goodness. You didn't even do it. You owe me big time. We're gonna get you pregnant one of these days. Okay. I'm ready. When you least expect it. Alright, listen, thanks for commenting and sharing this video. And remember, it's still celibate week.
