- Where are these international viral foods from? Let's talk about that. (light music) - "Good Mythical Morning." - And happy season 30. (everyone applauds and cheers) - That's right. 30 seasons over the course of 14 years. And some of y'all have been with us since day one. Some of y'all are finding out about us right now. That's the beauty of GMM now also being on Netflix. - Yep. You plan on changing how you act now that we're on Netflix? - I wasn't thinking I was gonna do that. What about you? - I already have. You haven't noticed? - What have you been? - You've been winking? - Yeah. I was thinking I might start winking. - Well, we should have discussed this, and you know what I would have said? - Little Link wink. - I don't think you winking is a good idea. (chuckles) - Yeah. I already have felt that it's not a good idea. - How about we just make the exact same show? - I'm winkless Link. - Okay. - Okay. Alright. - What better way? - I just keep it the same. - What better way to kick off this new season than by trying viral foods from around the world? - And guessing where they're from by throwing darts at a map. - It's time for where in the world do these international viral dishes come from? This dish has gone viral somewhere in the world. We're gonna taste it and guess where it's from by throwing darts at that map. - Then Chase will measure our darts to determine our points. - Hey, guys, it's me Chase the viral cartographer. Actually, I don't think I'm viral anymore though. But my energy's contagious. - I don't think we want any of that. Thank you for being here though. Okay, I won last time, about five centimeters. - Yeah, that was a close one. - Still a win though, so I'll go first. Rhett, you'll get an advantage today. - Yes. And because this is such a special season 30 premiere, both of our dads are so proud, they wanted to be a part of this, so they have their own dad cams and they're watching along, encouraging us. - My dad is up here. Dad? - [Charles] Hey, boys. It's me, Charles. I'm so proud of you for reaching 30 seasons. Ooh boy, that is a lot. - Hoo boy, it is. - Alright. You got a good vantage point at the back of my head. - And my dad is watching from underneath the desk. - Hi, son, it's me, your dad. And hi, Link. Congratulations on 30 wonderful seasons. - Thank you. - Yeah. - He just keeps it to the point. - He's very busy. He's an attorney. - Do you think your dad's ever said, who boy? - Well, no, he doesn't want to incriminate himself. - Alright. My dad is just a walking self-incrimination. - [Rhett] This is gnocchi, I believe. - In some sort of a fried. - Like a bread bowl? A crispy gnocchi bowl. - [Link] The starch is just kicking wild. - That's tasty. Where would it be from? - I mean, look at that. - It went viral, huh? - I can see why. It probably has a name or something. You know how viral things have a name? - He's having a tough time over there. I mean, he's starting to cough. I really think he's probably still contagious just between you and me. - We have sick days. He could have called in, but then who would have measured? - Right. - I'm gonna go first. I feel like you should move. Well, Italy's on the map. - [Rhett] It's right in the middle too. - Why would it not be Italy? Because that's too simple. - I've got reasons. Yeah. - I'm feeling like Canada would do this. Canada would do anything. - What makes you say that? I feel like Canada's pretty restrained. - Because they like their, what they call pasta. - Okay. - And I don't know why else. I just know it can't be Italy. It's too obvious and that's the only other place that I think I would go, except for Falkland Islands. So I'm going for Canada and I'm not even going to hold back because it's round one. Anywhere in the red is a zero, right? - Yeah. If it's Canada. - Yeah. - Well, yeah. - If it's Canada. - Okay. A little high. I didn't hit it. - That wasn't Canada. That wasn't Canada. - I missed the big target. - Well, Link, I think your reasoning is very sound because I feel like the Italians would not desecrate gnocchi by just throwing a dollop of cheese on it and putting it into a bread bowl. But they also know how much their traditional cuisine appeals to the world. And I mean, they're trying to make a dollar just like everybody else. - So you think it's Italy? - I think Canada's a great guess. I wanted to go to Canada, but I feel like I don't wanna just copy you unless I can actually hit Canada. But then if I hit Canada and I'm wrong, I'm further away from Italy. I think I'm going to just hit Canada and try to get a zero. If you had to hit Canada, I definitely wouldn't be going for it. - He missed too. (Rhett laughs) Darts ain't easy. - Dang. - Mikayla? - [Mikayla] Hey, I'm here. You didn't acknowledge me earlier, so I wanted to get an acknowledgement. - Do you have a camera that you're watching from? - [Mikayla] Yeah, I have like eight back here. It's really fun. - Okay, good, good. - [Mikayla] Alright, you just had pasta from Pasta's GP. They are fresh made pasta served in an edible pot pie like bread bowl. This one specifically is called the Gnocchi della Fortuna and went viral in Chile. - Chile. (Chase sneezes) Oh. Oh my goodness. He just sneezed out his measuring tape. I mean, boy, he thought about that for a long time before he did that. - He's practicing in the mirror. - Dad, how do you feel about my guests here? We're both wrong. - [Jim] 30 seasons of GMM. You're just like that movie Zero Dark Thirty," except instead of trying to find Osama bin Laden, you're trying to find the name brand Popsicle. - You sure he's watching the right episode? - What do you think, Dad? We in a good spot? - [Charles] 30 seasons. Wow. That's almost half as many as my beloved general hospital. Remember when Luke and Laura got married? - They're both kind of fixated on the 30 seasons thing, which you know I feel like I feel encouraged and loved and appreciated. - [Jim] Oh, you bet. - Yeah, see? Yeah. They're very responsive. - Us having 30 seasons gives me the chills. But, Rhett, you had 30, Link, 42. - Ooh. - Not a great start. - Need a spoon for this ice cream dessert. - It looks hot. It looks like it's gonna be a little bit spicy. - Okay. - That's what it looks like. Ice cream with chili crisp on top of it. You like that? You like chili crisp? You like ice cream? - Yeah, I don't like it together. I don't want you to mess with my ice cream with heat. I need to somehow just get ice cream out of the middle 'cause that chili flake lodged in a place in my throat. - It's kind of nice. I don't think I would actually do it again. It's just something that happens on this show, and it's kind of like a dream. - Or just the internet. - Well- - People like to see things that they can't taste, which we. Give me this. - Okay. I am now in the lead, so I got to go first. - Falling right into my plan. Okay. - Dad, you got any tips or just more thoughts about season 30? - [Jim] Congrats on 30 seasons. In Roman numerals 30 is XXX. I bet you think that's funny. You're such naughty boys. (everyone laughs) - Yeah, we do. (coughs) Oh man. - You getting a little choked up? - I think I got what Chase had. - Oh God. Yeah, you're closer to him. - Alright, throw the dart. - Yeah, you are one strip closer than Rhett. - Okay. - Chili Crisp. - I don't think they're doing this in China because I think that the Chili Crisp thing, it happened over there a long time ago and now over here on the western side of the map, we're finding out about it and we're getting super excited about it and we're putting it in ice cream. I would think this would be the United States, but that's not an option. So I'm taking a big risk and I'm going back to Canada. - Back to Canada. - Yes. And I actually hit it. I don't know if that's right. - I mean, I don't know why it would be Canada. Don't know why it wouldn't. I mean, why not China? I think China has observed everybody getting on this chili crisp train and they're like, "Well, whoa, whoa." So then just a reminder. So that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go with China, but I probably don't need to go all the way. - What just happened? What was that? - I was like, "You know, I'm going to make it effortless." - But you made it so effortful. It was so hard. (Charles laughs) (Rhett laughs) - Thanks for the support, Dad. - [Mikayla] You just had chili oil ice cream, deliciously hot and numbing. Chili oil draped on top of a delectably cold vanilla soft serve ice cream. - South Africa. - [Mikayla] It can be easy to find chili oil on all sorts of savory dishes, but doing it on ice cream seems to be a first in China. - (chuckles) You should have just done it, man. You should have just done it but you are significantly closer though. - I just wanted it to seem effortless. - [Rhett] Wow. - Rhett, you had 65, Link, 45. - Okay. Well, you've got, you're back in the lead again, so not too bad. - Oh, dang. - Hey, shop the newer Ribb It collection inspired by the fan favorite Ribb It long sleeve T. - Yes. - We now have a rugby polo with nice little embroidered characters on there. - Tackle me. - We got the hoodie here with its own embroidery on the sleeves and right here. - Bang. - We got washy tape and another T-shirt. So check it all out at mythical.com. - Guys look sick. Thank you. - Okay, that was a good one, Chase. - Check this out. - Looks like we have a little fondue. Oh God. - [Link] Are these little burgers? - They seem to be little burgers and we got some cheese that- - [Link] Look at that- - It's hard to keep cheese soft. - Cute little burger. - It's hard to keep cheese soft. I'm gonna have to just take it and just rake it. - There's already cheese on the little burgers. - That's nice. - But I would not complain about having some more of that. - That's what the inside of my nose looks like. - Please no. - Okay. I won't be having anymore. Alright, Link, you're back in the lead. You got to go first. - If I saw this, it would definitely stop the scroll. You know what I'm saying? - Okay. - Stop the scroll. Anything could be Canada. - Do you like my outfit? I call it my nasal drip. - Well, you did flinch, but you weren't moving. You were so dedicated to that pun that you were willing to be hit with a dart. - Yeah. Also, I just know how good our workers' comp is. - Okay. (Rhett laughs) Yeah. And yeah, he's made some claims. Canada. - I mean, I've been there. - If Australia was up here, we'd be saying, every time we say Canada, we'd be saying Australia, because I just feel like anything goes in both of those places. - Are you saying that neither one of them has like- - Their own identity? Yeah. - I wouldn't say that. I wouldn't say that. - Well, I didn't say that either. I was just thinking that's what you were saying. - Have you heard of poutine. I mean, poutine- - Australians love that. - Quite a thing to own in Canada. Australians have all kinds of things. Vegemite. Kangaroos. - It's not even on the map. - I don't know why I'm talking about it. But this is a traditionally American thing turned into a fondue. - So I think we've got that Swiss influence. - I was hoping you wouldn't think about that. - I think it could be Italy, but it could be Turkey. How do you say that? Turkiye. - Turkiye. - Turkiye. - Turkiye. Could be Italy. It's close enough. Oh God, I hope it's not Indonesia. Oh. - [Charles] Good one, son. - Not as good as I would have hoped. - Your dad liked that. Dad, you got any thoughts about that or season 30? - [Jim] I'm so proud that even after all these years, you always keep your chin up, which is especially hard for Rhett. - He's my dad. - Because he doesn't have a chin. - He can say that. My dad can say that. You think my dad was reading those? - Definitely not. - [Jim] Oh, you bet. (Rhett laughs) - Okay. The reason I wouldn't say Indonesia is just because I just don't think that that much cheese is something that would get them excited. There is the Swiss influence of Italy, but it's so out there in some ways. I actually am feeling Canada, but not feeling it so strong as to go all the way to it, so I'm kind of going into, I'm just sort of going somewhere in the Atlantic. - Sink it. Good aim. - [Mikayla] You just had popcorn burgers. This is one of many unique food presentations at the restaurant, Le Creamery, making it ripe for viral food review videos in South Africa. - [Link] South Africa. - What? Who would have known? How would we know? - Never been. - I haven't been. I think I'm a little bit closer than you though. Oh, this is a tight game, Link. Season 30 is starting off with a tight game. - Indeed, yeah. Rhett, you've got 32. And, Link, you've got 37. - Ooh. - Really close. - Whoa, whoa. - Equally wrong almost. - Yes. - [Mikayla] Reminder for our final rounds, these are a mystery round, so the country is not highlighted on the map. It could be any country, not in red. - Okay. And since it's the final round, Dad, you got anything else you want to say about season 30? - [Charles] 30 seasons is amazing. Speaking of 30, in "Back to the Future," Marty traveled 30 years back in time. If I went back in time, I would join the Mickey Mouse Club and then eventually the Backstreet Boys. - Okay. Well, Dad, you're already a star in your own right. No need to do that. Mickey Mouse Club? - Yeah. Listen, I like somebody who's got a plan. - Alright. I like somebody who's got whipped cream on bread. - Is it completed stuffed? Oh yeah. It goes inside a little bit. It's pretty good. - It's not too crazy. I love it. - It's not too crazy. Hey, but 30 seasons is pretty crazy, huh, dad? - [Jim] I'm sorry. I wasn't listening. Say that again. - 30 seasons, pretty crazy. Right, Dad? - [Jim] 30 seasons. Wow. That's almost half as many as my blood general hospital. Remember when Luke and Laura got married? - Yeah, I guess that. - Y'all been watching the same shows. - They might need to get together. I feel a lot better. - I'm gonna go first. (claps) - Yep. - Because I'm barely in the lead. Four, five, six, seven, three centimeters? - And I will be using my advantage. - I didn't even even use my fingers. - Whatever it is. Man, that tastes good. - It's a bit greasy though, is it not? - It is. It's also, why did this go viral? It's just deep fried- - Bread. - Bread with whipped cream on it. - whipped cream - Maybe it went outside with wet hair. My mom tells me not to do that. - That's a myth, Chase. - It's refreshing even though it's deep fried. Fried bread seems, I'm thinking of like a African thing, like African cuisine. There's something about it. - African cuisine. There's something about it. - There's something about fried, like fry bread that I think is from there. - Okay. - It's not Nigeria or South Africa, I know that, but I'm still going for somewhere over there. What in the? I got to practice. - But it's like I'm watching you from behind. It's just like, whoa. It's like, I don't understand what happened. I mean, you just really opened the door unless it's Russia. I don't think it is. - Maybe it's Russia. - Now, listen. Okay, here's the thing, Link. If you're just being funny and you though it was Japan, then that's a really good throw. And you've been to Japan, so maybe you saw this and you were like, "Oh yeah, this is Japan and I've had it, but I'm gonna tell him at the end." - So you think I'm conniving, huh? - Oh, I know you're conniving. I don't know if specifically you are right now. - I'm not conniving. I'm fun loving. - Fun loving and conniving are not mutually exclusive, my friend. - I'm not strategic. - That's true. Oh, I need my advantage. - [Mikayla] Right. You have an advantage. So since you lost by five centimeters last time, your advantage this time is that you get to throw your dart from five centimeters closer than you normally would. (Link laughs) - Alright. Well, let me get out of your way. - So hold on, hold on. First of all, you need a face shield. Remember those? - I don't think I'm sick anymore. I feel like the new-monia. - So this is where I typically, I always scoot up even with the mic. - So where are you going? - Okay. - I don't know yet. Five centimeters closer is one thing. - To there. - Okay. So I'm going to just move that closer. - You got this. - Okay. Well, speaking of strategy, Link, all I really need to do is to be closer to every other country than you. So I need to be just to the west and south of you without somehow screwing up and going. Because if it's like Korea or Japan, I mean, that's close. I'm not that good of a thrower, so I'm just going to try to like go China and hope for the best. - Oh. (laughs) Yes. I love that placement. - [Rhett] Should have gone lower. - Come on. - [Mikayla] Okay. You just had fried whipped cream sandwiches, also known as age sando. They're made of fried milk bread, lightened airy with cream and various toppings. They're a crispy upgrade to a popular convenience store snack you can find in Japan. - I've eaten one of these in Japan. I'm so conniving. Lincoln was like, "We got to go to this place and eat this bread." I was like, "Well, how long is the walk? 14 minutes?" Well, 40 minutes later we get to it. - I should have just aimed directly at Japan, but I didn't trust myself. - Now, Link, you're conniving this vapor rubbed me the wrong way, but you had four, and, Rhett, you had nine. - I tricked you. - [Charles] It's giving rizz. - That's right, Dad. Thank you. Love you. (chuckles) - Congratulations, Link. You get a very special prize. - [Mikayla] Yes. You get a personalized video from a viral star. - Hey you, I heard you won a big game today. Congratulations. And I bet now that you've seen my face, your day is even better. I always love and say hi to my biggest fans. Well, I got to get back to dispatches. Bye now. - Not only did we see his face, we saw a lot of his ceiling. - It seemed like the generic Cameo from. - Yeah, that could have gone to anyone. - From Dad. - Okay, you know we're doing this. We're gonna do this all week. We're celebrating season 30. And today the way we're doing that is we each have a 30 sided dice or die. - Die. - A dice or die. And we're going to roll it and whoever gets the highest number gets to hold a cat. (laughs) Jenna's cat, AB. - Because when he grows up, he's gonna have 30 teeth. - 30 teeth. - [Mikayla] You just took all my stuff. - What? Hey. Four and 25. You were manipulating it, you conniving SOB. - Oh my gosh. Look at him. - Floppy cat. - Look at him. He was rescued from the road, the middle of the road in North Carolina. And here he is making his big debut. Yes, yes. - I'm sorry he doesn't know how to hold a cat. - I know how to hold a cat in a way that it will not attack me. - Thanks for being your mythical best. - You know what time it is. - Hi, I'm Kallie from Anchorage, Alaska, and we just got done playing the international snack food taste test. And now. - [Everyone] It's time to spin the wheel of mythicality. - Some good old Alaskan fun. - Yeah. Throwing darts in your backyard. Love it. - Hey, I got an unfun fact, so don't get your hopes up. The color red is darker than pink and green is another color that exists. - Join us in, "Good Mythical More" to see us try Wendy's new menu items. - [Rhett] Shop the new Ribb It collection now at mythical.com.
