- Where are these wild
state fair foods from?
Let's talk about that.
(bright jazzy music)
- Good mythical morning.
- As you may know, we often play a game
where we guess where a food is from
by throwing darts at a map.
Yes. But let me be clear,
today's game is not that.
Today's game is completely
different from that.
It is about figuring out which
state a fair food is from,
and we will be throwing
rings at a ring toss.
- Yeah, that is nothing
like the other game
that we play with the dots.
- Nothing like the other game at all.
- It's very, very different.
- Very different.
It's time for fair food frenzy.
(carnival music)
- [Jenna] In front of
you is a state fair food
that was actually served at
a fair somewhere in the US.
- [Rhett] Okay.
- [Jenna] Your job is to
figure out where it's from.
Then you take the rings,
you each got three,
and you toss them to where you think
that state fair food is from.
- Okay.
- [Jenna] If you get it on
one of the correct pegs,
you get three points.
If you get it in the zone
of the correct guess,
but not on a peg, it's one point.
- All right.
- Okay.
- Just like at a state fair, right?
- Yes. And I assume I drizzle with this?
- [Jenna] Yes. We needed
you to wait to drizzle
because of some of the ingredients.
- Do you want me to drizzle you?
- Yeah, drizzle me.
It's like a chaco taco, but
then it has... Oh, drizzle.
Look, it eats away at what
I guess is cotton candy.
- Hopefully it's not just cotton.
- So it's like a chaco
taco with nothing in it.
- There's a-
- Basically.
- I don't... Oh, I thought
that was just a stick,
but it's that poke stick.
- It's epoxy.
- Epoxy.
- It's epoxy.
- Edible epoxy.
Ooh, that's good.
- It's marshmallow cream.
- There's something crunchy in there too.
- The stick.
- I don't think I got the stick yet.
Very sugary.
- Why is it black?
- It's like a waffle cone.
I think that might be like
Oreo cookie crumbles or something.
Hm.
- [Rhett] Or charcoal.
- This is the best thing
I've ever had with...
- Cotton candy?
- Cotton candy on it.
There's marshmallow down at the bottom.
- There's not much of
a cotton candy flavor
to that cotton candy.
Okay. Who goes first?
- That is good.
- [Jenna] Well, we're
going to do a classic
guess the weight game
to see who goes first.
So let's fly in this doll,
and you all need to guess
the weight in grams.
And to help us, let's give a reminder.
28.35 grams is in an ounce.
- Oh, thank you for making
it in the English System.
- [Jenna] So the Americans-
- All right. All right. I have a guess.
Are we going to three, two, one?
- Sure.
- Three, two, one.
- 120.
- 190.
(laughing)
- 120, 190.
- What is it?
- [Jenna] The correct guess is 53.
So Link, you are the closest.
- 53?
That thing's only two grams?
- [Jenna] Yeah, it's about two grams.
- Since he's been weighed,
he's got some water weight.
- [Jenna] It's about two ounces.
- I think he did his stinky in his diaper.
- Long lived the English system.
- Got a little heavier.
So he gets to go second
because that's an advantage.
Okay.
- Yeah.
So Rhett, you'll go first.
- All right. Let me move
out of the way here.
- It's a taco, which makes
me think of California,
because they can't-
- [Link] I'm sure they got tacos in Texas.
- They can't do tacos in any other state.
This is hard, man, because-
- Don't be defeated already.
It's literally a hard taco.
- I haven't won yet.
- And there's nothing to pull from.
There's nothing like,
oh, this is from this.
Although that drizzle right there,
I don't know if you can see that.
It looks like... It looks like we made...
What does that look like?
- It just looks like icing, right?
- Get a shot of that.
- Why you making him get a shot of that?
Not really.
- I mean, how did I do that?
- Well, the shape of
it doesn't help either.
- I'm an artist.
- The shape is what he's
talking about, Carney.
What are you talking about?
- Okay.
- Toss your rings. You got three.
You can distribute your answer.
That's the beauty of having three.
- I'm going to go California.
Oh, you almost missed, dude.
- And I'm going to go Texas-
or California again.
- California going back.
- [Rhett] Texas. Okay.
- You're doing the butt
lift? Is that legal?
- Butt lift. So I got
none on the actual pegs.
- Are you Bazillion?
- I'm not good at pegging. I'm sorry.
- Can you pull it together?
- What are you talking about?
- That and then that.
And then the butt lift? It's over.
It's over.
- I'm trying to hit pegs.
It's you guys whose
minds are in the gutter.
- That's a good waffle cone.
- Good waffle cone. How do
you feel about my guesses?
- It's tough. I got to...
It could be anywhere.
Tacos are all over.
I'm going to give a little California love
just to kind of break up your...
Oh!
(laughing)
- Okay, well. It said hi
to California for a moment.
(laughing)
- What's happening here?
There's so many things I could hit.
- But do the butt lift. Do
the butt lift. It'll help.
Yes. Yeah, just a little
butt lift. Just a nice-
- California a third time.
- Yeah, it's just a nice-
Ohio. Hopefully it's Ohio.
- I mean, why am I so bad
at this all of a sudden?
- All of a sudden,
this is the first time
we've ever played it.
- I know, right off the sudden.
(laughing)
- [Jenna] Well, this s'mores creation
features a graham cracker
waffle comb batter
pressed into a taco shape.
There's marshmallow glaze.
It's stuffed with chocolate,
toasted marshmallow.
You got the cotton candy,
chocolate cookie crumbles.
It got the winner of
the most creative award
at the state fair in 2018,
and this is from Texas.
- Oh, Ohio.
- I got a measly point.
- All right. I feel good after
being so miserable at that.
(carnival music)
- Ooh.
- [Rhett] We got a little fried something
with some sauce on it.
- That is a pink sauce.
Whoa.
That sauce is like
bubblegum. What is that?
What is that sauce? Not good.
Do you know what's in there?
- No.
I just don't know how to interpret it.
- So it's like a hush puppy.
There's just breading in there.
- That's all it is.
- I don't think there's
anything but breading.
It's good, but weird.
Is it strawberry though?
And could that help us?
- Okay.
- It's such a candy
strawberry if it's strawberry.
Jenna, I really want to
know, is it strawberry?
- [Jenna] I have been
instructed not to tell you.
- Oh. You could make your own decisions.
- [Jenna] I could, but I can't.
- Oh. You make decisions
for us all the time.
- [Jenna] I make decisions
for you all the time.
- So let me make one for you.
- [Jenna] If I could
make a decision for you-
- Okay, I think I know what it is.
- Tell me.
- I know what it is and I'm
not going to say it out loud.
- Because you're saying
it's not strawberry.
And is it giving you a hint?
- Yep.
- Okay. Well, you're going first.
So wherever you throw it,
it's still going to indicate
something that you know.
- But I'm not going to tell
you what I'm intending.
- It tastes like bubble gum to me.
- I'm not going to tell
you what I'm intending.
- [Link] Arizona.
See, you went over.
- Yes! Yes!
That counts as three, if it's right.
- [Jenna] Judges say
that would count. Yes.
- Okay.
He's clearly thinking Arizona.
Why would he think Arizona?
- You know hush puppies in Arizona?
- Arizona has nothing
to do with hush puppies.
- I almost went to North Carolina,
and if I hadn't have
missed on that last one,
the second one, I would
have gone to North Carolina.
- Does anything grow in Arizona?
Like this is some sort of berry.
- Does anything grow in Arizona?
- Only cacti.
- Ask the people of Arizona
how they feel about that.
- The only thing that grows
in Arizona is cacti and heat.
They farm heat there, dude.
I think they export it
to the rest of the world.
- That's how it works, yes.
- It scares me that you're
going so adamantly for Arizona.
- Maybe I was going for North
Carolina and kept going long.
- Arizona doesn't even
know what a hush puppy is.
- You're not wrong.
- So what does he know that I don't know?
I think it's cereal.
I think that it's a like
Lucky Charms flavor.
It's like cereal icing hush puppy.
I'm going to go for
North Carolina for one.
- Okay.
- Because of hush puppies.
- Oh!
There we go.
I'm going to go for Arizona
just to hedge my bets.
(laughing)
- Hey, it happens to the best of us.
- If I knock yours off and
it doesn't go over the thing,
you don't get three points.
Remember that rule that I just made up?
- Oh yeah.
I think if you hit mine,
it's going to go down on it.
- Hush puppies, I'm also
going to go for Tennessee.
- Yeah. A little butt lift.
Yep. Never hurt anybody.
- All right, Jenna.
- I think it's prickly pear.
- Prickly pear, which grows in Arizona?
- Yeah.
- On cacti.
- Yeah.
- [Jenna] These hush
puppies have been a salty,
sweet favorite for fair goers
at this state fair since 2019.
They're covered in a cherry flavored soda
you all know as-
Cheer wine.
- Cheer wine.
- [Jenna] I'm so disappointed
you didn't get this,
it's North Carolina.
- It doesn't taste like cheer wine.
- [Jenna] Link still got some points.
- It doesn't taste like cheer wine.
The hush puppies, I should have,
I should have done one in North Carolina.
I was like, oh, it's prickly pear
and I just got so focused on it.
- And I'm, I love you for that.
- Yeah.
- Right now.
(carnival music)
- Good Lord.
- [Rhett] We got what looks
to be a Reese's burger.
- Donut.
- Donut burger.
- [Rhett] You want to take that other one
since I've been touching this one?
- What?
- So it is a-
- That is crazy.
- Donut.
- So you got cheese on the burger,
chocolate sauce all over the place.
Reese's cups on top.
- It's a little rich.
(laughing)
- I want to make sure I get
a, a Reese's cup in my bite.
Is it good? Is this a good idea?
- At a state fair, yeah.
You know what I'm saying? Like.
All bets are off.
You're going to get a
little on the Ferris wheel?
- That's a great thing about State Fair
is that you want to go
kind of nuts and naughty.
- Oh yeah.
- Nuts and naughty at the fair, you know?
- Get one of those and
get on the Gravitron.
Throw up on your date.
- Yeah.
- Trauma bond.
- Something about State
Fair was always like,
"Who's your girlfriend?
Are you going to meet your
girlfriend at the fair?"
- Yeah.
- And then are you going to
ride the double Ferris wheel?
- It's the first place I
ever heard "Ice Ice Baby".
- Yep.
- On the, the one that
just went around a circle.
- The Himalaya.
Oh yeah.
- The Himalaya, man.
- It was the coolest ride.
- It was great because-
- You could see everybody the whole time.
- And when you were going around,
it just goes in a circle
and it goes up and then down
and you know, in the back it
goes up and then it comes down
in the front and you can watch people,
and it slides everybody down.
So you want to be on the outside,
and you want to have your girlfriend
slide up against you.
- Yes, right.
Listening to Vanilla Ice
and all the new hits.
- Yeah. Yeah.
- It was a place to get all the new hits.
That's how we got new
music back then, kids.
We went to the Himalaya
ride at the state fair.
- There was no streaming.
We though streaming was
crossing a small creek.
(laughing)
- I am winning, so now I get to go first.
Arizona, Utah, Montana,
Washington State, Florida.
I'm immediately drawn to Florida.
It just seems wild and
wacky, almost desperate.
Like the humidity's
gotten to your judgment.
- Okay.
- It's just out there.
So I'll give Florida a toss.
(laughing)
- Wow. That's good. That's good.
- Yeah, I'm all over it now.
I'm going to spread out-
- [Rhett] What's your secret?
- My answers, I'm going to go to Utah now.
- Okay.
- They like to, this is
their version of fun.
- Okay. I can see that.
- You know?
You know what? I'm going to
go left-handed for this one.
- Okay.
(laughing)
- You threw that thing
in the next week, man.
- The left hand. It doesn't
know its own strength.
I'm going to go back to my
right hand. Can I get a do-over?
- As long as it's not with your left hand.
- Didn't even land.
- Okay. Yeah. We got extras over here.
- All right. Great. All right.
- Don't do that again.
- Right-handed Utah.
Washington.
- You'll take it. You'll take it.
- Okay. So now I'm in
Washington and Florida.
I want to go with Utah.
Oh, there we go.
Oh, nope. Yes?
- That's a point.
- Three?
- That's a point. If it's correct.
- So, I mean, I'm on
Utah, page Utah as well.
- Oh, you are? Just because-
- Page Utah.
- This is how they like to have fun.
- My favorite local paper.
- It's just one page?
- It's just one page.
It's everything going
on in Utah on one page.
Very, very small font.
- Okay. I'd call that a newsletter.
- Yeah, because the way
that a lot of people in Utah
have fun is through sugar overload.
So I'm going to try to...
Hey!
(applauding)
- Got the three-er.
Are you tripling down?
- Maybe I can double up.
- Oh.
- I feel really good about
that, that ringer I got in Utah.
I'm going to try to
hedge my bets in Florida.
Oh! It went on and came off.
- You should have tried your left hand.
- [Jenna] This Reese's Pieces Bacon Burger
is an indulgent treat new this year
from Deanna's Steak Sundays.
It's a vendor known
for some wild creations
at the state fair in Florida.
- God!
- And I got three points for that.
- Oh, you're pulling away, Link.
- Yes, yes, yes.
(carnival music)
- Oh, is this a funnel?
- Can I get a F?
- Can I get a U?
- Can I get a cake?
Oh, it's green. It's green in there.
- Oh.
- Ectoplasm.
- I know what this is.
You want me to tell you?
- Don't tell me.
- You're crushing me right now.
I'm not going to tell you.
- I'm going to guess, I guess, ectoplasm.
Is that what you're thinking?
- Nope.
- [Link] All right. Well,
I'm going first, right?
- Yep.
- I think matcha is pretty trendy.
- [Rhett] It is.
- A matcha funnel cake. Is it mint?
It could be mint.
It's good.
- I do really like it.
- Well, where do you think
it's from, Lane Neal?
- I'm usually more of a
- Whatever your name is.
- ...Elephant ear guy
than a funnel cake guy.
Okay. Utah still on the board.
Now we have Colorado,
Montana, Idaho, Kansas.
I'm not going to go for the
green one because it's green.
- 'Cause it's green.
- That's just...
- The chances that that is the case?
- I'm ruling that out.
I think I'm going to go with
a little Colorado, actually.
- Reasons?
- Nature.
- Okay.
- Lots of great nature.
(laughing)
I did see where that one landed.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It wasn't the left hand, so
we don't have to worry about
following it around the world.
(laughing)
Okay. Hey, things for
looking up for the Rhettster.
- All right I'm sticking with Colorado.
Come on now.
All right. I got one in Colorado.
- All right. I'm not
100% sure, but I am...
I think it's Mountain Dew.
- Mountain Dew?
- I don't think it's matcha.
- It tastes like Mountain Dew, doesn't it?
- It didn't taste like matcha.
There was nothing fishy
about it, but it was minty.
And I know there's no fish in matcha,
but I always think matcha tastes fishy.
- And Mountain Dew,
Mountain Dew's like from
Kentucky or something.
- So you think the
namesake of Mountain Dew
is where they would have it.
It could still be anywhere.
- It could be anywhere.
And I think they love
soda so much in Utah.
- [Link] Oh?
Oh, Idaho!
- And they love it in Idaho too.
They love it in Colorado.
- I love it.
- And they love it in Utah.
- We like to pick on Utah
because we love you so much.
We feel like we know things about you,
but we're probably wrong about stuff.
- Keep hitting the peg
and rolling right off.
- Jenna, is this Mountain Dew?
- [Jenna] You were both incorrect.
I feel like Mountain Dew is the closest,
but this is a deep fried
dish dating back to 2012
from a vendor named the Deep Fry Guy.
And it is green jello
mixed into deep fry batter,
fried and served in the
jello loving state of Utah.
- Okay.
(laughing)
- Utah.
- I got a point.
- You were going for it so hard.
- I did three out there
and I only got one.
There's a lot that goes into each
and every episode of
Good Mythical Morning.
We have an incredible crew that puts
a lot of hard work into each episode.
And you can see their process-
- We also work hard.
- You can see the behind
the mythicality process
overall in the mythical society.
- Yeah. I mean, I think
maybe they work harder,
and I find out when I watch them too.
- That's right.
(carnival music)
- [Rhett] Is this mashed
potatoes with chili on top?
- Just a...
- And corn?
And a...and cheese?
- And a clown nose?
Look at that.
- Why have I never thought
of doing this before?
Mm.
- You can put chili on a baked potato,
but I never think just mashed a potato.
- That's a good thing.
- This is like going to
one of those weddings
where they have a mashed potato bar.
- Oh God.
- Those are the best weddings.
- Send me an invite.
- Even if you hate the couple.
- Like put that at the top of the invite.
Mashed potato bar.
Also, these two people getting married.
This is legitimately better
than it even has to be.
- Yeah. I love it.
I'm going to eat a lot of
it, but I'm going to stop.
This is your last bite, Rhett.
That's the voice that
tells me to stop eating.
(laughing)
It's a happy voice because...
- It's like a GPS voice.
- In therapy, I'm learning
to not be so shame oriented.
So it's like, this is your
last bite. Isn't that fun?
(laughing)
(coughing)
- Are you okay?
- I'm choking on the joke, man.
- How about this? Are you okay?
We love clowns around here.
- He's so fun loving.
(laughing)
All right. So we know where Chili is at-
- And this is...I'll
let you know right now
that I'm not going to
let you know right now
what I'm going to do.
But you know what I'm going to do.
- I think I'm going to die.
And that might be how you win.
- I just know that I've got to go...
I've got to get two pegs at least.
You can't... God. (coughing)
Can I finish this episode
or am I gonna die?
- I think he might be withdrawing?
- [Jenna] Link, do the
trick you do with me
where put your hands up
and Rhett, tap on his back,
on the back, on his back
and cough, cough it out,
cough it out.
(coughing)
- All right. I believe this is Ohio.
And if those are my last
words, then that would be it.
(laughing)
What were his last words?
I believe this is Ohio.
- And what was he referring
to? It's kind of a long story.
It was a game and there was pegs.
- They put chili on stuff.
- They put chili on everything.
- But not this type of chili usually.
- Indiana.
- Indiana.
- Not a bad, could be Indiana.
Not a crazy guess because it borders Ohio.
- Because they don't put it on that.
- They don't put it on taters.
The people of Ohio might be offended
by not putting it on spaghetti.
We don't know.
- Yeah.
- We don't know. This could be Indiana.
- Oh, dude. I'm giving you the open door.
- Oh, please keep it open, sir.
(laughing)
Okay. Okay. Dang. I got to be so good now.
(laughing and coughing)
I got to be... This is distracting.
This is like...
You wouldn't think if you were
playing a competitive game
of like ping pong or something like that,
and then the other guy just
started having a conniption
like this, it would hurt your game,
just so you know, it would.
Okay. Oh, it's got to be Ohio, right,
because of the chili.
- Kind of like when that
tennis match that was happening
and then they stopped and they were like,
"We smell weed."
- Oh, really?
- You see that?
- No.
- Yeah, it was like some sort of tenem...
- Tennim.
- Big, big tenemus tournament.
- (laughing) Okay.
- Because you know how tennis players...
- Oh that's one.
- They'll go up and they'll
complain to the person-
- You got to stay back.
I have no chance here.
- Get the peg, man.
- I got three in Ohio, but no peg.
- It's got to be Ohio though, right?
- [Jenna] This hot beef
sundae, pause for Rhett to say
that was his nickname in high school.
- That was my nickname in high school.
(laughing)
- Features layered of mashed
potatoes, marinated beef,
gravy cheese, corn sprinkles,
topped with a cherry tomato.
It's the brainchild of this
state's beef cattle association,
and it's been served for
over 10 years in Indiana.
- Of course.
- The only thing that I accidentally hit-
- It's not chili.
- Today is my day.
- I can't have another
bite because of my...
I told myself, but it's-
Marinated beef?
- Marinated beef is not chili?
- Apparently, no.
- It's better.
- [Jenna] So that means Link.
- It's very good.
- [Jenna] You won tickets
for your performance in today's episode.
- Oh, thank you.
- Step right up. Step right up, Chase.
- Oh, Nintendo Switch.
- Carney, obviously the crew
member who should be a Carney-
(laughing)
for you to get something
with your tickets.
- You can you get a teddy bear.
Get a whoopie cushion for a thousand.
You know, a whole cat t-shirt for 5,000.
Okay. This is going to be fun.
A Bluetooth speaker.
- I'm a clown.
- Oh, look, he's on Team Clown too.
- 30.
- Okay. Well, that means
you can get hard candy.
- I'll take those.
Thank you.
There's a sucker for you, sucker.
All right. Bye.
(laughing)
- Wow. I though you might get a switch.
- Carney, you missed your,
you missed your calling.
Thanks for being here
mythical... (choking)
- You know what time it is.
- I'm Shelby, and this is Prudence.
And we're from Greenwood, Indiana,
and we just got done reading
our new favorite book,
Spaghetti Head and Chicken Fingers.
We loved it and we love you.
- Bye.
- And now it's time to spin
the wheel of mythicality.
- She's like, "Yeah, let's do
it. Let's get this over here."
- Bye. So cute. So cute.
- Hope you enjoyed the book.
- Eat adventurously, Prudence.
- We have a very, very...
It's not special announcement.
We have very unsolicited advice.
- Okay.
- Should Ruby put that she has great
collaboration skills on her resume?
No, because you don't,
Ruby, and you know it.
- Resume?
I don't know what a resume is.
