We're creating a sandwich tier list. Welcome to Good Mythical More. This is about to get, this is about to get difficult because we're gonna create a sandwich tier list and I think we have to grade on a curve. A curve? Because I don't think any- I, m- most of these sandwiches just looking at them right now I wouldn't say are I don't like. I would eat basically all of these. But some of them gotta be Ds. Of course. It's like somebody's gotta flunk out of this the first year of law school. You would like all of these. We can't let everybody through. Let, let me help you by telling you all the things I don't like about every single one of these sandwiches. Well, I know you're gonna do that. Okay. Well, there you go. But also you're probably gonna put like Italian cold cut really high, which is just- Hold on … yeah, just you know. Hey, hey. I know- So- I know you lost in the main, but can you put it behind you? So what we're gonna have to do is you're gonna, we're gonna each have to have like, uh, a few strong opinions that like skew it in a certain way. This is gonna go all over the place, man. You're re- you're really, you're really concerned, aren't you? Uh, th- th- this, put- putting together this tier list, there's somebody out there currently really enjoying themselves, probably maybe is being assisted by some sort of substance, and they're, and they've tuned into this and they're watching it, and we may be about to send them into a paranoia tailspin if we get this wrong. Oh, crap, dude. Well, where do you wanna start? I'm just gonna kinda say what I thought Let's start with, let's start with a hot dog because a hot dog is a sandwich apparently according to, uh, Josh. Um, I'd ca- I can't put it above B. I don't, I think the fact that it is controversial even to call it a sandwich means we have to put it, it C or D because we have to have something in here. All right, so now it's a C. And then the, it's just so suspicious, like what's in 'em, they're not good for you, you shouldn't eat 'em. Oh, them not being good for you is going to be, uh, we're gonna get real- No, I'm just saying, but I just don't, I don't even think it's… I, I don't like 'em. D. I like, I love a hot dog, but I'm willing to put it on D because it's not really a sandwich, let's just be honest. PB&J, classic. I will not put it any lower than a B certainly, so let's start there. Here, my thought on a PB&J is that it is very good, but it's, like, if you're like, "Hey, I got a sandwich for you." Yeah. And you give me a PB&J, I'm like, "No, you got a little dessert snack kinda thing." Dessert snack? Like, any, there's so many of these that if you got that for me it would be a meal. A PB&J is not a meal. It's not a meal. What? Unless you're 12 or under and it's the '80s. Nothing you're saying is compelling me, but y- you're saying it's small. It tastes great. It tastes great. It tastes great, but it's, a sandwich can be so much more than a two pieces of bread and two condiments. I will give you this. Uh, even though- It's, it's just two condiments, come on … we're peanut butter boys, I like peanut butter in and on so many things, but I rarely eat a PB&J because it just seems juvenile. Like, when you compare PB&J to a cheese steak, let's bring cheese steak onto the board for a moment. Okay. All right. Put it, put it at B. Ooh, that's nice. You, putting- A well-made cheese steak- … putting that next to b- to a PB&J seems like sacrilege. It's gotta be an A. You're at least at a A when you're talking about a well-made cheese steak. Well, let's move PB&J to C. I, I … See, I told you this was gonna be anxiety-inducing. How can we, how can we do that? How can we do that? The, we're the peanut butter boys. How are we moving that to C? Because it's a sandwich tier list. Yeah. Yeah. Now, I didn't say to move it to C, I was fine with it being a B. I could tell you wanted it moved down to C. Let's put something we know at D. Put cucumber tea at D. Come on, let's get We don't even need to discuss that. Boo! Sh- bless you. Even as somebody who likes cucumbers, I do not consider that a, a sandwich. That is just stupid. Um, hmm. All right, let's go to egg salad. Now egg salad, stinky, but good. I'm not gonna rank it higher than a PB&J. Not a chance. Put it down there at C. Put PB&J at B. I feel like if you couldn't eat it on a plane, it can't go above C. Okay. I do like an egg salad sandwich, though. Oh, I do, too. I like every- I like it a lot … every single thing on here I would enjoy eating except maybe the cucumber tea sand- uh, sandwich I came back from Japan. They got great ones in J- Loving egg salad sandwiches. Even at the 7-Eleven, right? 7-Eleven. Yeah, yeah. You throw that fried chicken thigh in there. Now- Ooh, that was good. I'll go back to Japan just for that … in the same pla- bring grilled cheese up for a moment. Bring grilled cheese up. So- Bring it up there for a minute … now again, this is a sandwich. If you told me you got me a sandwich, and you got me a grilled cheese, I would be like, "Dang." A grilled cheese, much like the PB&J, it's gonna taste incredible, but it feels like it's part of a larger meal. It feels a little insubstantial. But if I had to choose between grilled cheese and PB&J, I'm choosing the grilled cheese just because I like cheese more than I like peanut butter. Oh. I think they're the same. Let's keep it at B. If you eat a PB&J, you should drink a chocolate milk with it. If you eat a grilled cheese, you should dip it in tomato soup. Okay. But on its own, it's just not getting you there. Turkey club. Just never excites me Never excites me. And there's a third piece of bread in it for no, no good reason I'm willing to put this at D tier because I know- D you might agree with me Just give it that big D Because I know you hate turkey, and I just don't like cold sandwiches that much And it's got that toothpick in it God, I hate that. I- Well, so does, so, hold on, so does a Reuben- I don't, I don't- … and a Reuben is great I don't want a sandwich with a toothpick in it. I don't… Here I am eating a toothpick all of a sudden Uh, can you tell us what is in a Monte Cristo sandwich? I've had them before. It's a deep-fried- It's a grilled cheese disguised- … ham and cheese Okay, so dip it in- Bread, sliced ham, cheese, dipped in an egg batter and then fried. So yeah, deep-fried ham and cheese with an egg batter as the batter. That's a great sandwich. In Portugal they do that and then they pour this sauce over the whole thing and it, like, completely envelops it. Oh, yeah? Can't remember what that's called. Uh- A Monty Wetsto. But it really hasn't c- entered the, the consciousness. Mm-mm. It's not, it's not, it's not in the collective lexicon. C. So I think we got a C tier 'cause it just hasn't done a good job of marketing itself. All right. Gyro, hero. First of all, we don't know how to say it. You know? How do you say it? Giro? Some people say giro. I think that would be the only way to not say it. Gyro. Gyro, giro, gyro, gyro. I've heard it all. Gurio. Uh, I love, I love it, but I don't get too excited about it when put with all these other options. But I think- I don't know. How do you feel about this? I feel like I love it the same amount as an egg salad. I feel like it's a good C tier. We- we're just, we're- we're- We're- we're holding back on the ones that we would've pushed for … we're really holding back. Yeah. I'm, like, te- devastated by some of the … W- like, we've been gasping back here. We've got- Some things we- we're, uh, y- y- We're … The- S tier is so important it's gotta be a high standard. All right, well, let's grab one that we kn- we know we both like I mean, I would move Monte Cristo down to D just because we didn't even know what it was. That is a gaspi- No, no, no, no, you can't, you can't do that … for me. How dare you? 'Cause it's, it's a deep-fried ham and cheese sandwich. You can't move that down to D. All right, move it back. Put it back. Let's just go ahead and … Let's, let's, let's … The elephant in the room, pulled pork. I love a pulled pork sandwich. The elephant in the room. I think you also love a pulled pork sandwich. Yes, lord. If you tell me that you got me a sandwich, and then that's how … This is how my brain works. And then you tell me that it's a pulled pork sandwich- It's like, "Yes" … I don't know if I could get happier. Right. If it's got coleslaw, then very happy. Yeah. Do you … Let's leave it at A for now. What? Okay. No, no, it's S, dude. We know it. We know it. And it … Well, okay. We know. We'll, we'll save. I, there's another one I think we'll both put at S tier, but we'll save it. Italian cold cut. You're gonna be on your own here. This is y- this is your choice because, like I said- I'm gonna go- … it's a cold sandwich … I'm going with C. What? What? Even I'm flabbergasted. I thought you would l- you love this. I don't- I don't. No, I don't. I don't get this. I have no, I have no association with this. You get an Italian sub. No, I don't. What sub do you get? I get, from Jersey Mike's I get a 13. Which has what on it? Ham, bacon, and there's another meat. You don't like cold cut type- It's not turkey … you don't like Ita- Italian- What's the third meat on a club sub? The 13 is a original Italian. Yeah. But the, the third meat is a proschut- uh, it's like a prosciutto. No, that's not. I said the right number then. Wrong number. Yeah, it's ham, pr- uh, prosciutto, teeny thing, and then a cup of gouda, salami, pepperoni. Uh, but what's the one that I actually get, the eight? That is the 13. Eight. I meant to say eight. Now, see, I, if I'm- What's on a eight? … if I'm gonna eat a cold sub- Ham, bacon … this is the one I want because- The It's the club sub. You get the club sub. Ham, bacon, and what other- But that's a, that's a club. It, it's ham, bacon, and turkey. But that's a club sandwich. Oh, there's turkey on an eight? Yeah. Yes. Yeah, you can put turkey on your favorite sub. I always wondered why you wanted it, 'cause of the turkey on it. What? This, I like all the pepperoni and salami and stuff, it's just- It's better than a turkey club But it's not great Reuben, better, much better Uh, this- Much better … this is a A, this is a A tier or- This is something I had to- Again- I had to become a man- If you told me- … to start to like a Reuben … if you told me you got a Reuben, I'm like, the rest of my week is gonna be good you're A tiering that? All right. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It is good. The dressing, oh. And it's so different 'cause it's got that cabbage. Whoo. Hey, it's got the tang, and then it's got the, it's got that sauce on it. Ooh, yeah. Mm, mm, mm, mm. And wh- uh, it's got a stick in it. I love that. Uh, let's talk meatball sub here. Meatball sub. This, this was my go-to at Subway for a really long time. I still really enjoy it. I like a homemade meatball sub much more than one from Subway. I gotta say, though, meatballs structurally not the greatest thing to put on a sandwich. Nope. This is a very difficult thing to eat, so I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and put it at C tier personally. Yes. Thank you, thank you, thank you because meatballs don't belong in a sub. They don't. It's, they're too, they soggy the bread too much. And then you get a bite that's like half a meatball- And then you get a bite and it's half a meatball … and then none of a meatball and it slides. And then the other meatball falls out the back. Yeah, it's like a, it's like one of those things that's got- Like, it's like a shag bag for golf balls. You push on one side and something pops out the other side. Yeah. You know? I don't know what that is, but yeah, it's like that. But, but you can imagine. A shag bag. Shag Bag was not my nickname in high school. Uh, banh mi. All right. All right. How do I, how do I say this? You, you could say not for banh mi. Not for banh mi. Listen, my… Lando, he's a foodie. He was like, we were in San Francisco. We were finding all these places to eat, and he was just like, "I think I want a banh mi," out of nowhere. And w- I found one, you know? And we eat it, and then after he's like, "I think I'm done with banh mi." Yeah. They're dry. The French bread of it all. Go down. Why you trying to S it? This i- Sarah, this is you talking? They're not good. They're dry Okay. Where- I got it from a highly rated place. Where is the best banh mi? If you get a good one and they have like the aromatics in there, like the cilantro, like all the, the green in there- … it's very different. You're s- you're trying to sell me on it with cilantro? D. D it. It's not a D. No, no, no. No, no. It's not a D. C. C it. It's not a C. You- Let- let's- S- Sarah is pulling a power move here. Let's C it for right now He snapped up the B- She does have the control. Okay, French dip. French dip for me is, I wish there was something to dip a banh mi in, but I- Exactly. But, but what I'll say is that if you really start analyzing the, the ingredients of a French dip, it really is just roast beef. But dang, it's really good. And au jus. And au jus. And you get to say that. You get to say, "Pass the au jus," if somebody needs to pass it to you. Mm-hmm. All right. Bacon, egg, and cheese. Bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. That's nice, boy. I mean, I, I think we gotta A this thing, right? In terms of breakfast sandwiches, it represents. It is 10 toes down. For, yeah, breakfast sandwich, but when it's compared with all these other ones, it's not I don't get too excited about breakfast sandwiches, but it's about as good as you can do. But, but if, but if you heard somebody say, "Hey, it's breakfast. I got you a sandwich," and then it was a bacon, egg, and cheese, what would you think? Did it have sausage, egg, and cheese? Oh. Now I … Listen, I agree with you there, which is not on our list. But- Sausage, egg, and cheese is higher I'm fine with leaving it there. No, I'll move it to B just to give room for sausage a little bit above it. Okay. Which d- we don't have. Uh. Tuna melt? Tuna melt can be really, really, really tasty. Or really underwhelming. But you can't eat it on a plane. Mm-mm. So it can't go higher than C. Nope. Who … Why … Jenna, what's wrong? So many things. So many th- It's like at the beginning you were, you decided that there's some viewers that are just gonna have existential crises- I told you … and you decided to lean in. I told you. Here's the thing, though. The thing you gotta understand is every single one of these, except for the cucumber tea sandwich- would be a great meal. So just because it's a C tier doesn't mean it's not good, it just means it's gotta go somewhere. That's why, that's what you meant by grade on a curve. I understand now. Some people gotta flunk out. Okay. Yeah. Burger might be my favorite one of my … It might be my favorite food. And- Throw it at A and let's see what happens. A burger is, a burger's going up to S. Burger is the best- A burger is an S tier sandwich. Like a, like a, like a smash burger, like a … That's … If you told me you got me a sandwich, and then it turned out it was a smash burger, I'd kiss you on the lips. I'm, I know, dude. I know. It's so great. Fried chicken sandwich. Fried chicken sandwich. S tier. S tier. S tier. Yeah, I mean, fried chicken sandwich, pulled pork, and burger are, like, those are the three best things on the … They're, they are the three best things on this list, right? Y'all, y'all just from the South. So are you. We're going, I know we're going heavy meat, like, the, all the meat It's very meat heavy, top meat heavy. I mean, what, if, i- if, if so- if somebody feels so strongly, besides Sarah and her Banh Mi, and wants to … Jenna, I mean, you wanna advocate to move anything around? Let's hear it. I would like to advocate … Let's see. What do I wanna advocate for more, the tuna melt or the meatball sub? Yeah, 'cause listen, we need a end, we need a even distribution across grades. Listen, I would love to move up a, a tuna melt to B. I know you can't eat it on a plane, but a good tuna melt. I do love a tuna melt. So good. And I get it quite a bit. But we gotta pop something up to A tier in order to make this feel a little bit even. I think we need to take something off of S tier. No. Oh. No, no, no, no. We can't. There, there's no way to make a curve with three things in an S tier. No, we're gonna move something to A, and then we're gonna take something from C and move it to B. We're gonna move Bond Me up to B for Sarah. Yeah And then we're gonna move something up to A tier. PB&J. We have a PB&J advocate in Nick. Italian cold cuts. Never, Brittany. Listen, I'm down to move up a tuna melt. Che- what, what's on the level with a cheese steak and a Reuben? Th- they both have so much in there The, the Italian, the Italian's got a ton of meat also Bacon, egg and cheese Oh yeah, get the bonne me, yay No No, we, we didn't do that Get it out of there I didn't realize it was Sarah sneaking it in. My bad, girl I, I'm saying bacon, egg and cheese Yeah. Okay, I'm not gonna argue with that. Now, now, is there anything else we can do? We can't make it y- we, uh, we can't do anything now because- Can you move it to C? Well, no, we can move something to A. We can move one more to A and then it would be completely even But you want- We have to move something from C To B. To B and something from B to A. And then move something to A. Ugh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. C to B to, uh, meatball sub. Move the meatball sub up to… No? Aw, man. Nobody? Damn. It's just me. I feel like the, the crowd pleaser is the Italian cold cut. Move that to B. Now we gotta take something from B and move it to, to, uh, to A and then we're done. PB&J, you had it your whole life. I think it's gotta be PB&J. This is the perfect- Alright. Alright. This is it. This is the perfect distribution. Some people, some people got happier. It is. Ah, I told you. Okay, now you can go to sleep. There's a lot that goes into each and every episode of Good Mythical Morning. We have an incredible crew that puts a lot of hard work into each episode, and you can see their process. We also work hard, but… Yeah. You can see the behind the Mythicality process over on the Mythical Society. Yeah. I mean, I think maybe they work harder and I find out when I watch them, too. That's right
