Welcome to Good Mythical More. I just discovered this, because they told me you can search Daylist on Spotify. I didn’t know about it either. And it pulls up, it creates a playlist based on the music you listened to at that time of day that you requested the Daylist. Yeah, man. And then it updates it, like, three hours later. So we’re gonna match the Daylist generated by Spotify accounts of our crew members. And we’re gonna show you ours. But first we’re gonna list them all. Okay. Might be here a while, Link. Elements on the periodic table. Carbon. Gold. Oxygen. Silver. Nitrogen. Copper. Bismuth. Sodium. Niacin. Helium. Hydrogen. Nitrogen? Hydrogen? Did you say nitrogen? I don’t know. Mercury. Phosphorus. Dimethylamine Ok, that’s a molecule. Yep. I don’t know, we should be better at this. We had to memorize it. I haven’t looked at that in such a long time. Chlorine. Bromine. There’s the noble gases. There’s the not so noble gases. Yep. Like, fart. Is that F or FA? I think it’s FA? I wonder if, I think I would do better if you said the We’re looking at the table? Well, if you said the, come on in, crew. The category. If you said the name, and then I had to tell you what it was. Hello, everyone! We’ve got Chase, Chappie, Nicole, and Twinklefingies! Come on up, come on up. Now, have any of you used this Daylist function? Because as much as I’m on Spotify, I did not know about it. So I am producing this More, and not only have I started using Daylist because of this, I’ve also been collecting all of the crew’s responses. And some of them have just like, the first couple songs have been interesting, so I’ve like, slacked them and been like, hey, can I get the link to your Daylist? I’ve been listening to other people’s Daylists. Really? Well Chase, first of all, this feels like a conflict of interest. To be producing the episode and also participating, and I feel like. I didn’t pick me. But I might have just put my Daylist. But did you, you didn’t, did you use it beforehand, or did anybody? I did. Yes. I did, yeah? Yeah. But it’s not something that you see just in the normal interface, you have to search Daylist? Yeah. Once you start using it though, then it becomes like a part of your normal interface. But who’s the first person that figured it out, in the world? They sent a pop up when they first released it. Oh, well, I don’t look at all the pop ups, Chappie. Yeah, that’s interesting. All right. Let’s expose ourselves first. Yeah. ((Laughing)) Expose yourself. So I did, so just a moment ago, I generated my, mine is called Wistful Tender Tuesday Afternoon. Wistful tender, and it has the artists underneath it? Yeah, so the first song is Certainty by Big Thief. Ever heard of it? I’ve heard of Big Thief. I don’t know if I’ve and then the next song is Ready or Not featuring, it’s a Shakey Graves song featuring Sierra Ferrell. Okay And then the third one is The Curse of the Blackened Eye by Orville Peck and then Crop Circles by Odie Leigh. Odie “Lee”? Odie “Lay”? is it “Lay” or Odie “Lee”? I actually don’t know. I don’t know any of these wistful. It’s very wistful and tender. You know me, I’m a tender man. Especially on Tuesdays. ((Laughing)) Tender Tuesdays is what we call it. Tuesdays in the afternoon. Don’t insult me on Tuesdays. Same time of day for me, it’s Hip Hop Boom Bap Afternoon. ((Laughing)) Boom Bap? That’s my favorite food. That’s my favorite Korean food. ((Laughing)) Hip Hop Boom Bap? Yeah, yeah. Yes, so I’ve got Black Thought and El Michels Affair. Good album. That’s a good album. Is that the guy from The Roots? Glorious Game. Yep. What are some of, like, the adjectives that it uses? Oh, the adjectives? Yeah. You listen to smooth and laid back in the afternoon. Here’s some boom bap rhymes, lyrical, abstract, underground. Oh. Well, this, yeah, this is interesting. Do you listen to Smooth by Santana? Is that what it’s saying? No. Oh, like, the smooth music. soundgood from B. Cool-Aid Pink Siifu, Ahwlee, and Liv.e. Don’t know who that is. Feel You So from Tribes. Space from Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Yasiin Bey. Alfa Mist sings Borderline. I don’t, Jay Electronica, Enough. And then back to some more Black Thought. I really listened to, it’s interesting that, A few days ago, I listened to music at work. I was listening to this Black Thought album while we were signing Mythical Cookbook at work, but I typically, I don’t listen to music at work, so it’s like pulling from a weird time for me. Yeah, because it says you listen to orchestra and composer on Tuesday afternoons. Here’s some wistful cottagecore yearning. Cottagecore. Cottagecore. But you do, you listen to that type of stuff while you’re working. You know? Yeah, I mean, yeah. That makes sense. You don’t listen to any Ghostface Killah ((Laughing)) Like I do, apparently, or Madlib. Okay, let’s get to you people. Yeah. You people. Let’s bring up the first one. Flying Lotus. Oh, they’re right over here. ((Laughing)) Spiritual Gregorian Chant Sunday Evening. Oh, Sunday evening. So you listen to choral chant on Sunday evening, spiritual Gregorian chant, hymn choral. First of all, I’ve been thinking, just whoever this is, I’ve been thinking about getting into this. Every once in a while I think about like, what are monks listening to right now? I am not kidding. And I’m like, I bet you I would enjoy it. So, this is somebody’s like spiritual Sunday evening practice. I like, I like it. Chase went to Catholic school. That’s true, yeah. I mean, we can move these around. I do think it’s, let’s give it to Chase for now. Kammerkoor Head Ööd Vend Ēriks Ešenvalds Kammerkoor Kammerkoor, it’s just like Cottagecore. It’s an artist. It’s a person. Eric Whitacre, Whitacre, and then Eric Whitacre Singers. Well, I mean, it’s just, it’s chanting. I mean, it’s not gonna be much about the artist. I’m just being real. When you listen to that type of stuff, I don’t think you’re a fan of anyone chanting. I’m interested in this. Upsetting the Gregorian chant fandom. Yeah, I don’t think so. We’re into a Tuesday night here. Noise Baby Sleep. Tuesday night. Okay, what? You listen to noise and studying on Tuesday nights. Oh, who’s taking their work home with them? Noise, nature, studying, thunderstorm. Two songs are Tranquility and Noise by the Ocean. Who are the artists? Somnolence and the Noise Nannies. The Noise Nannies. The Noise Nannies. So this is, this is for babies. Any of y’all got like an au pair job on the side? Trying to make a little extra scratch? Somebody else’s children? And this was like at 6pm at night too. So somebody gets home from work. Here at the studio. And they’re just putting on like, tranquil. This could, this might be Chase. Late, late night. Not late night. It’s not late night. Late night. 6 o’clock. Working a little bit late. We could have done a Match the Crew and they’re all my Daylists. That could be the case. Those are kind of close together, and it’s like. Let’s just. Let’s go with a Just give it to somebody, we can move it around. This is an interesting one. Good choice. Cheers. Wednesday afternoon. Obsessed Angelic. Obsessed Angelic Wednesday Afternoon. Read about that. You listen to whimsical and 155 BPMs. Oh, fast whimsical. ((Laughing)) On Wednesday afternoon. Wow. Angelic, viral, catwalk, floaty, and loops. Catwalk? But the first song is Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo, and then Paint the Town Red by Doja Cat. And then Dance the Night, Dua Lipa. So that’s obsessed angelic? So this is, we’re kind of talking pretty poppy though. This is pretty poppy is what we’re, you know. Right. This is trying to make you feel okay about listening to just pop. No, no, you’re still whimsical and 155 BPMs. I’m waiting for Sting because I know you. ((Laughing)) Oh, okay. You want Sting, you want to get laid by Sting. It’s what you said. If it’s on the table. And then finally, Liminal Nervous Monday Evening. Oh, okay. Nervous. Describe that a little bit. You listen to yearning and fun. On Monday evenings, here’s some nervous, swamp, hazy, yearning, wistful, and Japanese. First song is called Touching Yourself. ((Laughing)) Okay. By The Japanese House. And then Red Wine Supernova. So, I guess this is the order it happens in. Oh, come on. Touching yourself then red wine. And then True Blue. – [Rhett] And then Supernova. True Blue. By boygenius with Julien Baker, and Well, they’re members of boygenius. Julien Baker? Phoebe Bridgers? Yeah. So we’re getting into a little cottagecore ish stuff here as well. Boygenius, boygenius. This does fit. Liminal nervous. ((Laughing)) Okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Hold them up, hold them up under your chinny chins. I don’t feel good about these choices. I feel strongly that this is correct. I feel, you think so? I feel like we gotta give Chase Noisy Baby Sleep. You think I’m the noisy baby? And I believe that Zack is Gregorian chant because I don’t think he likes actual music. Okay, what? I don’t think you’re into music. It’s just not your thing. What am I into? Gregorian chant. What is Gregorian chant? Okay, that seems pretty authentic. He doesn’t seem to really be in it unless he’s acting right now. Right, it’s like that’s your, you vibe out, man. It’s a compliment. Thanks. Okay, I don’t know how I feel about this. Chase, are we right? Yes, you are right. Yay! All right, one for one. Tell us about it. Sorry. Tell us about it. I put on a lot of this like stuff in my apartment, which has very, it’s a very, the walls are thin. So for like therapy on Tuesday nights, this is what I put on. So that people, neighbors and Sarah and everyone else can’t hear me just talking about my thoughts. Now does it, does it influence your, does it influence your, like, the way that you talk? Like if the music gets like kind of dramatic, do you start getting dramatic? I have not noticed that, but I have noticed, like, I’ll pause, thinking there’s, like, cause I’ll, I have headphones on too, and then this playing on speakers. So then I’ll, all of a sudden I’ll, like, hear, like, a thunderstorm start, and I’m like, wait, hold on, and I’ll take this, and then realize that it’s my music playing. Okay. Do you ever get, like, emotional and start crying because of the music in therapy? No, I’m usually already crying, it doesn’t matter what the music is. I wish I could cry more in therapy. It’s therapy. It’s commercial. I like to make my therapist cry. That’s what you do? I’m an emotional man. Damn, Rhett. I’m wistful and tender. I’m feeling, I’m feeling so good. You already nodded. Yeah. See what I did? I did. See what I did? Yeah, I have an anxiety disorder. ((Laughing)) Liminal Nervous Monday. I don’t know why they, why do they, why do they call it Liminal Nervous Monday? I don’t know. Hey, so do I by the way. Oh my god. I love being nervous. ((Laughing)) They gave me so many fun words. Nervous. Swamp. I love Shrek. Hazy. I don’t see well. Yearning. Sure. Wistful. Does this help? I’ve gotten swamp too. What? Does this help with your anxiety? Listening to tunes? Yeah. Yeah! Sure! Okay. Well, you don’t seem so sure about it. That would be the anxiety. That would be the disorder. ((Laughing)) The mental illness talking. Cause that does help. It’s a coping mechanism. All right. I feel like, I feel like a switch is in order, but. No. After all that I’ve done. ((Laughing)) And said, I better be right. You’re not right. Oh no! I’m sorry! I’m sorry. This is me. ((Laughing)) This is who I am. Okay, Obsessed Angelic Wednesday Afternoon. I want to say, I do like, I like all these songs. But, my Spotify is connected to the set play, like, Spotify computer, and my thinking is that’s what’s happening. That is influencing, but I do listen to these songs. And it is playing, like, during the day as well. Yeah, some would say I’m in control of that, maybe I’m choosing these songs, but. Right, but you’re also choosing songs that you think will, like, set a certain vibe. Yeah, I’m trying to set a fun vibe for everybody. Okay, okay, okay. You’re setting an obsessed angelic vibe. I was just messing with you. I like music. You do like music. You like music. But Chappie. I like spiritual Gregorian chants. No, I don’t know, so I think the way Daylists work is it’s really like trying to recommend you stuff. Like often when I look, it’s mostly songs that I’ve like not liked or really heard before. One Sunday evening I had just gotten noise cancelling headphones and I listened to Sleep by Eric Whitacre like on loop. And then every time it tried to recommend me a Gregorian chant right after when it like started playing recommended songs. So that’s what it thought I was doing. And then like the next weekend I got this one. And did you listen to it? Uh, no. Okay, so you haven’t gone total Gregorian. No, but Eric, and also Eric Whitacre’s not exactly chanting. But we were right to not give it to you then. I wouldn’t say this is like encompasses all of my music. I let him take the. He’s my boss, so I let him. Okay. All right. Let’s all do a Gregorian chant, though, now that we’re here. ((All Chanting)) I don’t speak Gregorian. I don’t either.
