GMMore 2750: Can We Match States To Their Flags?

Welcome to Good Mythical More. Than you bargained for. Are you into flags? Well, we’ve got em. And who do they go to? Let’s decide. Look at all these flags, homie. I’m so excited. But first, let’s play a little round of Thinkin and Sinkin, our daily trivia game that you can play on the Mythical Society. Uh, on the episode. This is where you predict what’s gonna happen. On the episode, International Dips, which of the falling, following will not appear as a dip accompaniment. Now we have the, you know, the privilege of hindsight, but also Not really. We might not remember. A, chicken tenders. B, tortilla chips. C, flatbread, or D cucumber. I still don’t even understand the question. Flatbread, C. Um, cucumber. Most people guessed flatbread. Cucumber was second. And the answer is tortilla chips. The least guessed number. Nobody guessed this. Hey, it’s a tough game. It’s anybody’s game. And now, you have to enter your prediction. The day before the episode, so. We’re gonna be good at this, Link. We’re gonna be good at this. Let’s bring in the board. Let’s bring out this board. Let’s request that someone bring in the board. Alright. Whoops. I keep losing all these, but Wow. This is tough. This is tough for me. I’m having a tough time today. I need some more. I need some more of that coffee. If it tasted better, boy, I’d be real caffeinated. Let’s get the super obvious ones out of the way. Okay. Texas, everybody knows this. We don’t need to waste any time with some of these. Texas is down there. I’m gonna move over a little bit so we can see this. Everybody knows this is South Carolina, or at least everybody from North Carolina, because it has a palm tree on it. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Palmetto State. Now I know, check this out. From when we did our college buddies trip, we spent two years in Colorado before we moved to Montana. I think we might be headed back to Colorado. Colorado’s great. And it’s got a great flag, and I’ve always thought Oh, in fact, I bought a T shirt with this on. Yeah, that’s how we know it. And I was like, oh, this must be, like, the, like, flag at the gift shop, not the real flag. Like a cool, updated design. But it’s actually been their flag for a while. For a good bit. And I also know that this is the Tennessee flag. I don’t know why I know that, but I do know that. Really? Yeah. Okay, now we’re getting, of course we know our own flag, California that’s got the brown bear, which is just a grizzly bear, now extinct. If you see a bear in California, it is a black bear, even if it’s brown or blonde. Say that again, Rhett. It can’t be said enough. If you see a black bear in the state of California, even if it’s blonde, even if it’s brown. That’s why you need to say, if you see a brown bear. It is a black bear. If you see a bear. If you see a brown bear. If you see a bear in California, it is a black bear. It’s all one species. But if you’re at the zoo. Okay. Yes. Except if you’re at the zoo. And if you see a brown bear. Or a Russian circus. And if you saw an actual brown bear, which is on the flag, you would be seeing a grizzly bear. And it would probably kill you. But if you see a brownish bear, it’s a black bear. And it probably won’t hurt you. And I would love to hear more people say it. Stevie, you give it a shot. If you see a bear, if it’s blonde, if it’s brown, if it’s black, it’s a black bear. It’s a black bear. In the state of California. Mm hmm. Okay, um, this. Only in California. What is this British. If you’re in Montana, you’re screwed if you see a brown one. What’s this freakin British lookin flag? Yeah, double British, actually. British on British. Who would do that? Delaware? Somebody who was kissin up to the kingdom. You know what? Like, somebody who was like, Well, we’re still kinda, like, from there. What’s the first. The first state was Pennsylvania. One of the closest ones? New Hampshire. It’s gotta be somewhere in there. Cause this might be old Hampshire. You know? This might be the old Hampshire flag. Yeah. We reserve the right to move that around. Oh, that’s Maryland. I know that. How do you know this? Cause the Maryland Terrapins, who play. Oh, you know this from sports. They put, they have, they make their uniforms look like that. It’s very odd. Maryland. So that, that. It’s a weird flag, isn’t it? It’s almost like an optical illusion that you’d see on the internet. Yeah, why? And that’s not a compliment, Maryland. Now this one that’s the Little Dipper and a star? This is a, that’s a good flag. I feel like I should reference it. Alaska? Alaska is what you would think it would be. Right? Is that up there? Put it up there. That makes sense. Can’t reach it. There’s one flag that’s, like, looks like a cool rug. Like a cool, there’s one, don’t you think you know what that is? Well, this has gotta be probably, uh, either New Mexico or Arizona. Put it in the middle. Let’s see it. New Mexico or Arizona. Oh, that! And the other one. Ah, shoot, that is. So, one of these is New Mexico and one of them is Arizona, don’t you think? I’m having deja vu. We’ve done this before. Have we done this before? No, but we’ve done something like it. We’ve done this, um, cause what we thought was this might be New Mexico. Make it New Mexico. But it’s not. And make this Arizona. Don’t you think? We were wrong about it. I think you’re accessing memories that are false. Okay. Sometimes I watch my future self. Oh, so we were right. We were right. Hey, we’re still good. This one’s pretty. We’re avoiding the ones that are old school like just emblems that have potentially problematic things on them once we get into it. We’ll get there in a second. This is a palpable flag. Oh my gosh, this flag is a new drop. Uh, apparently. Oh, oh! So, this is the Minnesota flag. Because Tim Walz announced this, and then. Lost the election. There was some conspiracy about it, of course. They said that he was I don’t remember what it was, but there was some conspiracy. Controlling the flags! Yeah. And it actually goes that way. It goes that way. That’s what it is. Or does it go this way? I mean, it could go that way. You instinctively put it the other way, but. Because every flag has the stars rooted on the left side, usually Texas, the United States, California. Now this one right here is. Hope. Has an anchor and it says hope underneath it. Um, so this is a maritime state. You certainly would think so. Rhode Island. It could be Rhode Island, it could be Connecticut, Delaware. I don’t feel like it’s in New Jersey. Rhode Island’s a good guess. We’re gonna guess Rhode Island. Now this one, this, I’m so proud of you. You are doing so well. Hmm, a hundred percent. Oh, look at this. No, but, but you’re doing well. There’s an error on that one. Now what happened at this? It’s got a, it’s, it looks like a flag folded onto another flag. It looks like, well, hold on. It’s got stars. It’s like a, it’s like an instruction to make a paper airplane. What in the world is happening there? That is wild. Why would you do that? I don’t know who that is, but we’re Let’s just put that sideways right there. One of them is Hawaii, Link. It feels like we should be able to figure that out. Oh, yep, there it is right there. Maybe this one? It has a, it has that flower. In God we trust, with a flower. Isn’t that like a flower you would, a lily that you would see in Hawaii? Yeah, it’s one of those. You see them floating on. Uh, hot goss on the street. That is also a fairly new flag. Hawaii got a new flag? They got a new flag and they put in God We Trust on it? I didn’t say whose flag it was. But it is a pretty new flag. But Hawaii wouldn’t do that. I mean, it’s a magnolia leaf. Oh, you know what? So maybe this is Minnesota. This is Minnisippi. Yeah. Cause they had to rectify something on their flag. And they were like, we should put God on there. And we should put the magnolia. Alright, so. Oh, wow. E pluribus unum. Or unum? What is that? Unum? I don’t know. C querus peninsulum amunth. Amunseum Circumspice. Circumspice? Wasn’t that your nickname? Home of Circumspice. It says it. It doesn’t. It looks like circumference, but it’s circumspice. Yeah, circumspice. So, there’s, there’s, there’s an eagle and there’s two, um Where does Circumspice hail from? Well, I think this is Florida because doesn’t that say. There’s two moose on it. But it says peninsulum. There’s, there ain’t no moose in Flor- no, there’s elk. That’s elk. Oh, and a Bigfoot. That’s not a Bigfoot. Oh, my God. It looks like a Bigfoot. It’s a waving Bigfoot with a staff. Uh, it’s elk. I don’t even know if you’re God, I can’t hold on to anything. God. Uh, where’s elk? And Alaska. Alaska. There’s Sir Crumb Spice made it all the way up to Alaska. And, uh And who has all of those I mean, we all have the stars. Everybody can see the little dipper. That’s nothing to take pride in. You know? You said it was really, really cool. Just, like, a minute ago. Yeah, it is cool. Yeah, well, things change. Link, this is two black horses and a bald eagle on top. We have a ship, we have something unrecognizable, and I almost grabbed it and zoomed it, but it doesn’t work like that. It happens more than you care to admit. Uh, I can’t see what those things in the middle are. Um, that is a plow, and then underneath it, that is, um, three mushrooms. No, that’s three haystacks. So, they’re farming, they’re farming, they’re plowing, they’re haystacking, they’re plowing, and they’re shipping. Um. This is like Delaware, Connecticut situation all up there. And I feel like the same, this one has a ship but it doesn’t have anything else. It almost has the same ship. So I’m gonna put that one there temporarily. Okay. This is two white men looking at each other like, hey, look what we did. Um. Did we just take over? Yes, we just took over. And, uh, there’s a animal in the middle, and there’s a ship in the middle. Everyone was like, we gotta put a ship in there. And it also says December 7th, 1787. So we know that in 1776, that there was already a few states. A few. Yeah. The 13 colonies are when from when? Pre 1776. And they went all the way to Georgia? Maybe. This could be an east coast state that’s either really far south or really far north. Is Maine on here? Uh No. I think we’re gonna have to go with one of these. Connecticut, Delaware. It could be Michigan as well. You could get a ship in the Great Lakes. It was added a little bit later. Yeah, Michigan. I think this is a tasteful and simple, I’m turning them sideways when I’m not confident. I like that technique. But it could be, it’s a torch with all these stars around it. What’s the deal with stars on the flag? I mean, it’s like, come on. But you said you liked it too. I like this one. But I do like that one too. It’s a torch of liberty. I have no clue where that would be. This is uh, Bountiful Grapes and it’s key. Trans tool it. Susten it. Bountiful grapes? Lots of grapes. So where would they grow wine? Ohio? I haven’t heard of Ohio growing wine. But, sure. This one says Ad Astra Per Aspera. And it’s somebody um, farming, but there is water, but that water’s probably a lake. And then a sunflower on top, and mountains. Purple mountains, a lake, and a farm. Now this flag did say the name of the state on it, which is why there’s that negative space underneath. Oh, there’s, oh. Stevie’s still paying attention. Well, I was trying to like, find hints for things that would be helpful for you, but I can’t. But I’m trying. Where is, who has a lake on here? Cause I, I kinda wanted to put this as New Jersey. Sunflower though? Sunflowers? Michigan. No? I don’t know, now that we’re just guessing. In God we trust. Yeah, I’m gonna say you’re guessing your current track record of these. Bad. Not, not great. Okay, well maybe this will switch up our fortunes. This is, they just put Constitution Justice, Wisdom, Moderation. In God we trust. Now this is one, Rhett, you should know. I think it should be Indiana, Rhett. What? Cause you know all about Indiana. Why would I say that Rhett should know this one? Cause he knows all about Indiana! Why should I know it? And not Link. Oh. Georgia. Georgia, Rhett. I’m not from Georgia. But you are. Wow. I don’t, I didn’t, I didn’t know that. That’s a nice flag. Now look at the simplicity of this one. A pelican. It’s a pelican feeding three pelican babies. Union, Justice, and Confidence are the name of the babies. Union, Justice, Confidence. That’s definitely an East Coast. Let’s go with Jersey. And now, oh, this has got women on it. Two women, one horse, and three plows. That’s all I need. Yeah, yeah, that’s a full life. This is my flag. This is a putrid color, look at that. Liberty and Prosperity, 1776. So this is one of the originals. So we’re over there. Where were the most women? Pennsylvania. I, you know what, I like this. I think, I think this is Pennsylvania. I think this is Connecticut. Why would we have a giant ship in Pennsylvania? Does Pennsylvania doesn’t get out there to the coast? Yeah, yeah. It does? There’s a Pennsylvania coast? Yeah, the Atlantic Ocean. Okay. We’re listening to Kaylin, she’s from Ohio. Okay, what about these two white guys looking at each other? One’s got a gun, one’s got an, uh, a hammer or an axe. Why don’t we have a And a little bull. A hammer, an axe, and a little bull? We should know Hawaii. We should know Hawaii. I mean, maybe, it’s gotta be this one. Why, I don’t Because it’s simple. It’s simple. Maybe go to your gut instinct on that one when you said it was really cool and it would be in a state. And then you put it in that state, and then you took it out of that state. Alaska. Mm hmm. Oh. Yep. But Hawaii is like a pretty recent state. So they’ve gotta have a pretty cool flag. Maybe they’re like, maybe theirs is like Alaska’s then. They were like, oh yeah, what’s the other state that got added late? Let’s copy that. I think this is, I think Kansas is that. That would be so surprising. Alright. You might be right. Just throw the last two up there, Stevie. Louisiana, 1787, that kind of makes a little bit of sense. Put us out of our misery. And then we’re gonna put some deer and an eagle in Indiana. Um, okay. So, like, yeah, the shieldy ones, you know, what are you supposed to do? Uh, is my opinion. But let’s, uh, let me just look at the right, uh, monitor for myself, that would be helpful. Okay. Alaska! Well, I was, it was more of a direction. Uh, correct! Correct! Stevie’s giving a passive aggressive direction. Well, my scorecard doesn’t match the order that you have, so I’m going back and forth. Arizona! Stevie’s trying to explain herself. Correct! Yes! California, obviously correct. Colorado, correct. Also, I think the Nuggets have the coolest looking uniforms. Whoever’s designing that state. Good, good, good on ya. It’s one person. Connecticut, no. But it is a shieldy one. Uh, so we’ll come back. Delaware, no. Delaware is, um, it, it has a little bit cooler of a, uh, shieldy. It’s the, nope, it’s the two men, uh, that situation. December 17th. December 7th. Yeah. Right. Yep. Okay. All right. Okay. Uh, Georgia? Yes. Um, Hawaii? No. This one, unfortunately. This one? No, no. Hawaii’s flag is very, mm, we gotcha. Uh, it, it’s that, it’s the double up, like, uh, yep. Mm-hmm . What? Oh my gosh. You know what they do? Yep. is not show this to people. Like, I’ve been down there. They don’t show that to anybody. Yeah, Hawaii, get a new flag. Like, if any state needs a cool flag. I mean, look at this. I guess they’re just sort of like, British on British. You know what’s really going on here? This. Uh, Indiana has a cooler flag than this. It’s the one that you moved away from Hawaii. Oh. Good job, Indiana. Kansas, it does not have a very cool looking flag. It’s um, the one that I said we erased the name from the bottom of. Right here. Kansas has an awful flag. It looks like it’s the result of a middle school project. And there was an argument, and they just said, Fine. Everyone wins. Oh, it looks like a, um, a brownies badge. Yeah. It has a very badge like quality. Louisiana? No. But, it’s the one with the, I believe the seagull. Pelican. Pelican. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, pelicans. That’s a pretty good flag. Maryland, you got it. You did it, Rhett. I wish I knew the origin of why that is the flag of Maryland. Michigan, it was the one that you just took down from the, the one that has the, the, The crazy paper plank? No, no, no, the elk in the, the, Oh, so we were actually kind of right. That’s some freakin big ship. Oh no, this one. Okay. Yeah. Alright, the fighting bucks. And Bigfoot waving. Minnesota, you’re right. Minnesota, that’s a good one. Mississippi, you’re right. New one. New Hampshire, you’re right. Hey! New Jersey, No. New Jersey is the beigey? Background? Oh. There we go. This one’s growing on me. It’s women. There’s women in New Jersey. At least two. New Mexico, you’re right. Good flag. Ohio. This is the one that you, this is where the cool flag goes. The, the not rectangle flag. I know. It’s the only non rectangle flag in all 50 states. I wasn’t calling that cool. Oh. Uh. And now I’m definitely not. It’s cooler than a lot of other flags. What are you trying to say? Are you hating on Ohio? It’s a work in progress. This could be a good tattoo. I don’t like this at all. That right there is the problem. It just, it didn’t get there. Ugh, Ohio. Don’t get there. Um, oh, oh, it, it’s not a rectangle though. You understand that? Like it’s on top of a white. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m sorry, Ohio. Your flag has a, has a cutout in it. Wow. Yes. Like it’s like that shape on the sides. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But here’s the thing about that. This is what happens when you put it on a card. See the problems you’ve caused? They weren’t expecting us to play this game. You know, liberty should not be used in that way. That’s right. Pennsylvania. Correct. Yeah, that’s the first time we’ve tilted. Correct. Oh! South Carolina, correct. Tennessee, do that. Oh, so that means that Connecticut is grapies. Connecticut is grapes. And that concludes our history lesson today. Let your freak flag fly. A new adventure begins. A new season of Roll for Mythicality has started. Check it out now on mythicalsociety. com.
